I’ve been taking Pilates from Johanna for about 1.5 years and would absolutely recommend her to anyone. Initially I was interested in trying Pilates to get moving again after an injury but didn’t want to go to a big studio on my own. Luckily I found Johanna. The building is super cute, there is always parking and I genuinely look forward to our sessions each week. She plays tasteful music during our sessions and we always have great conversations. Johanna is really good at safely guiding me to try different things out of my comfort zone but is always mindful to check in with me about how certain things feel so I don’t aggravate anything. I’ve only taken private sessions with her but would imagine her classes are just as amazing!

My life and the way I relate to my body on a physical level has been shifted/upgraded/up-leveled forever since I started doing private sessions with Johanna!! I am a massage therapist of 10 years, an aerialist and a mama. And I've always known that I've never been able to activate my core properly - Until I met Johanna! I cannot express enough how deeply grateful I am to have found Johanna Cole. Her knowledge of the body astounds me! And her mission statement is pure magic - "Medicine Through Movement". Our sessions together feel like the PT I need to combat 10 years of poor body mechanics and overuse of my body. She always asks me how I'm feeling at the beginning of each session - never assuming I'm the same as last week. She is compassionate, warm and encouraging. I appreciate how much she guides my breath work throughout each session. I wish I could start my day with a private session her EVERY DAY and I recommend Johanna to ALL my family and friends. I have been instructed by very good Pilates teachers. Johanna is a complete standout in this group. She is caring and personally instructs you given needs. She is encouraging. I call her the body whisperer. I can’t even begin to understand how much she knows about body movement. All I know is that working with her is life-changing in regards to calming my body down, healing and moving the way the body was meant to move! Thank you Johanna!

Johanna was wonderful! It was my first time doing tower-focused Pilates. She helped orient me to the equipment and gave pointers/corrections throughout the class. The way Johanna instructs is specific and purposeful - she has great communication. Overall, the class was mindful and conscious - Two characteristics I wish to embody throughout the day!

I have had four major injuries, three requiring surgery in that last ten years along with a couple more minor injuries. In hind sight most if not all were caused by a lack of mobility and core strength. I was always too focused on getting stronger by lifting heaving or intensely but never put any emphasis on improving my mobility in order to do these thing more safely. After my last injury (grade 3 groin tear) I started working with Mary twice a week and she has not only helped me rehab this injury and avoid a fourth surgery she’s also help me improve my mobility every where else so I can do the hard things I want to do, safely without injury. At 42 years old my core strength and mobility is as strong as it has ever been.

Johanna is a FABULOUS pilates instructor. When I started working with Johanna, I was in bad shape; my body was stiff and inflexible from working at a desk or sitting on an airplane. Through various classes and private sessions, Johanna paid close attention to my individual needs and helped me change my body. Today, I'm flexible, strong, and am living life pain-free. I had the most incredible experience with Mary. It was my first time doing Pilates on the Reformer and Mary made me so comfortable. From the moment I stepped in her studio she was friendly and I knew she cared about me and my experience. I didn’t feel rushed, Mary made me feel like I was her only client and the most important person in the world. Her cues were perfect and I felt safe and well directed. Her positive energy is contagious and I felt capable, strong and happy in her presence. The workout was intense yet doable and I felt super confident. I couldn’t believe the session was an hour it felt like ten minutes I enjoyed it so much! The next day my body felt great. My posture improved and I could feel every muscle we had worked after just one session. I’m hooked! I’ll definitely be back!
