I've been a member in the past in other locations so I was pretty prepared for the experience. This is the second Springs location I've visited and both are considerably smaller than the ones I've known in other places (I'm a recent transplant from the East Coast), but there's still plenty of space, plenty of machines, and a decent variety of workouts for all types of gym rats. It's clean and well staffed, too!

Horrible place! Disgusting inside and dirty! Employees don’t care about anything but hanging out and talking to each other! They are rude and incompetent. They don’t even acknowledge your presence. Went to tanning room 2 and it was filthy and there was poop on the wall. Gross. I will only go to the one on woodmen and I-25 from now on! Or maybe to vasa! I've worked out at home for a few years but decided to join a gym for a bigger variety. Going from home to a gym is a little intimidating but Tracy was extremely helpful and made me feel at ease. She answered all of my questions with patience and diligence. She helped me with questions about the machines and membership overall. I signed up for a Black Card membership on the spot. Needed help with my black card membership and the blonde girl (with tattoos and purple in her hair) at the front was not very helpful. She made me feel like I was a burden, and she kept sighing. She wouldn't even take her eyes off of her phone to help me. Will go to another planet fitness. I truly hope she was just having a bad day, and this is not her normal behavior. Okay, Planet Fitness. You tried. You really did. And I want to like you. I do. But this location? It’s less Planet Fitness and more Fitness Storage Unit.

Let’s start with the layout—it’s claustrophobic. Not in a cute, cozy way, but more like “I’m doing squats three inches from someone’s elliptical drama” kind of way. There are no windows. No view. No hint of the outside world. For all I know, we’re underground in a bunker preparing for a protein-powder-powered apocalypse.

If you’ve ever been to the Woodman branch, you know what I mean. That one opens up to Pikes Peak, a majestic backdrop that inspires actual motivation. Here? Your only view is of a wall, or possibly a confused guy holding a gallon jug of water.

Staff-wise, it’s a mixed bag. Some are lovely! Others are clearly deep in thought or part of a top-secret “Pretend the Customers Are Ghosts” training program. A “hello” or “goodbye” would go a long way, unless I’ve actually died mid-treadmill and no one noticed.

That said, it’s clean, the equipment mostly works, and it’s still way better than working out at home next to your laundry basket. But seriously—Planet Fitness: move this branch somewhere bigger, somewhere with windows, and maybe a little mountain view? Your members deserve to breathe something besides recycled AC.

Another update: this place is going downhill FAST. Their new people don't even in a how to correctly turn on the red light machine! I've been coming here for that ONE reason, due to a medical issue. But at this point might as well just buy my own...

UPDATE: used to be a great place. Not anymore. Unfortunately. You wait sometimes for 5-10 minutes at the front desk to check in for the red light/vibration therapy, tanning, etc. Not worth it anymore. Probably soon cancelling my membership, unless things get better.

Great gym if you're not into heavy lifting. They do discourage serious body building and heavy lifting, they don't have much heavy free weights or squat racks. But it's always neat and clean, so as long as you know what to expect, it's a good place to train. They have free classes, tanning, massage beds/chairs, infra red and vibration therapy.

Nope. Just joined as a Black Card member and was very disturbed at what I saw last night. Jeans, tank tops and loud music from various groups being played. Kids running around, including in the Black Card area. Black Card area was dirty and some items not working. Protocols so proudly displayed were not followed and someone could get hurt. Scary place. I’m an early bird, so I mostly enjoy going around 5 a.m. to beat the crowd. Their equipment is well maintained and their staff is friendly. The only changes that I would like to see is there should be SOME free weight bench press stations instead of having the assisted smith-type stations. I'm very upset with planet fitness 2 years ago I got a membership and only went one time I tried cancelling and would not let me even though I was on no contract then they said I owed 150 Dollars and that was why I couldn't not cancel still no contract and them taking money out of my account without permission so I had to close my bank account of 3 years so today mind you 2 years later they call me and say now I owe 800 dollars and still cannot get out of this in visible contract that when I started there was none unless I pay the 800 well planet fitness you can kiss my well you know.i wouldn't suggest anyone to use planet fitness they are crooks

I'm fairly reluctant to leave any kind of negative review for PF bc I really love PF & have been to dozens across the US. This location was hardly the worst but it was def a let down in many ways.
Quite a few of the machines were damaged or broken. The showers were nice & clean but the shower caddys were probably from a dollar store & super flimsy (in hindsight I should've assumed they couldn't hold more than a pound & put my products on the floor) but now I have a broken soap bottle leaking in my bag. Also, the curtains were very gross & ripped. There was a good 6" gap exposed while I was in the dressing room.
The "Total Body Enhancement" was filthy. The platform had muddy shoe prints, the interior had a film on it, the fans were filled with dust causing me to sneeze the whole time...& it didn't work properly.
I'm assuming this gym has been here a long time & stuff just gets worn out & it's easy to overlook things but it was alot.

I travel a lot and am a member of Planet Fitness. I was in the health club industry for many years so I tend to have a critical eye. While this particular club was relatively clean my pet peeve is equipment maintenance. The first 3 pieces of cardio equipment were not working. 2 rowers and 1 stairclimber. Not good.

There is a small migrant crowd here that seriously feels threatened when women with serious curves walk in, they spread the same exact rumors, every single time, booty walks in, and they need to get over their insecurities because they obviously want curves but for whatever reason it’s taking longer than these curvaceous women so they get the men in the same situation to sit there with them and envy the only curvy female that walks into the gym whenever they are there… They don’t want to be reminded that they have to work for it so they all get together and envy that one curvy lady that walks in alone, I think this gym needs a police presence for this reason because they wish they had the nerve push their envy within this military crowd here that is also watching… the women they envy are military which is why I say this because they are slowly building this military women versus migrant envy that is pointless someone call immigration please

Everyone minds their own business and you can get your workout done without being too self conscious. How packed it is totally depends on the time of day, but there are two to three of each machine to get the job done. *excluding a couple of them*
Plenty of treadmills and ellipticals. 4 stair steppers. Bathrooms (f) are clean and spacious with plenty of lockers to put your stuff away (bring your own lock). Sani stations placed throughout the gym to clean off your area when your done with your sets.

I am not a member. I went to a location in Colorado Springs, CO because the gym at the hotel was closed for remodeling. The day use charge was 20$, which is a little higher than I'm used to. I was a member of this location for the last 7 years, dating back to when they acquired my memberships from a smaller gym that went under. Largely, my time here was nonmaterial. I came, I worked out, I left. I never had issues with staff or other patrons, and I simply don't care enough about what others are doing to be watching what they are up to. However, last week I was needing some customer support from the staff because my payment card changed but the app wouldn't accept the new one. I went in early expecting to spend some time on this, but the service was pretty abysmal. I was asked to wait as the person at the desk was assisting someone else. No big deal. But then she asked me to wait so she could ring up someone she seemed social with because they were "just buying a drink". I said sure, then after helping them she immediately took a phone call and walked off. After returning, she then helped a second person who came in after me. 20 minutes were wasted. I left and got my payment issue adjusted at the Austin Bluffs location. I cancelled the next day after signing up for another club, as I had been thinking of leaving due to the overcrowding anyway. All in all, kinda a bummer way to end a 7 year membership. On the other hand, PF is PF and you get what you get for $10-$20. That's not meant as a slight or diss, just that it is what it is and for that rate its good.

Today i am writing this As I was leaving the staff was no where to be found it was a short girl with light brown hair. She wasn’t doing anything but sitting there with a blanket and always leaves there so many people at the front desk waiting for her and she’s no where to be found until last minute. they are hiring people who don’t do much and sit there not doing their job.Also she’s always not in the building she’s always walking from the back or walking thought the front door. She seems to have an attitude anytime I pass by her she’s also never in uniform always wearing a hoodie and slacks it makes no sense to me how my favorite gym can hire new employees that don’t do any work or give off energy that they don’t want to be there. I’ve never had issues with pass night shift employees which is the time I usually go, there needs to be rules with new employees especially if their not doing their job.

I have tired to cancel my gym memberships here and they purposely make it difficult.
You can’t cancel over the phone or through email because they know it’s difficult and they can profit off it.

I went in person to cancel it the first time and apparently the wi-fi was out so I couldn’t get my cancellation email.

Instead of making it right they kept charging my account over an 8 month period.
I tried to call and get it fixed, they then told me I had to drive back to this location to do it again.

When I came back to cancel they said I couldn’t because I had an unpaid balance.

I then called corporate, they had said they have to cancel my membership no matter if I had an unpaid balance.

Went inside and said that exact thing.
I got tired of arguing with this place so I just paid it.

Mangers are very misinformed.

Joining a gym after many years of not working out was terrifying for me.
I decided on this location because it was near my home and I needed to start shedding some weight for an upcoming surgery.
I signed up and inquired about their personal training services. I was linked up with Tyler and I was so nervous to start.
The second I met with him, he put me at ease. He has been so encouraging, patient and had shown me that I CAN do this! I cannot brag about him enough! I am so grateful to have met him. Update: it seems like some of the staff are pretty lazy when it comes to keeping the place clean nowadays. I work out in the early morning, and here recently, I've noticed the place is less and less clean. This morning (05/04), there were dust bunnies rolling across the floor like tumble weeds. I'm pretty sure I heard one ask for a spot on the squat rack. It's obvious that whoever is on shift prior to 0600 isn't cleaning at all. Sad. At least the 2 girls that work in the morning seem to be motivated enough to do their job and not just stand behind the counter. So, I'm dropping my 5 star rating to a 3 star. Hopefully, whoever is in charge down there can get their crew straightened out.

Very under staffed to the point where customers are not being to use the Black Card benefits. The staff was cleaning, one person working it seemed in the whole building. She got me into a tanning bed but did not set it. When I had to come out I get assistant I had to wait for 5 min until I walked out due to nobody coming to help even after calling THREE TIMES FOR HELP. I will just go back to the Woodmen location as I have never had a problem being helped there.

I have been trying for the last week and a half to get an answer about hard transferring my membership after moving. Still haven’t heard anything back from the owner who is probably in over his head or just plain bad at his job.

Edit: their renovations are complete! However, one of their new hydro massage chairs already needs servicing (the #6). It's pressure intermittently drops and comes back. I complained about a month ago and got moved to the other hydromassage, and I tried this one again recently and it has not been fixed. Taking the review down to 3 stars until they fix it.

Original review: for the price, it is a great gym where I can walk in, scan my card, get greeted with a smile, and then use the gym equipment.

It's not huge, and I wish there were more duplicates of some of the equipment (rowing machine, chest fly) since they are often taken, but when I go in the morning it's not that bad, and there are plenty of dumbbell/cable machine options.

If you spring for the black card membership, take advantage of their massage machines. They are so relaxing, and worth the price.

nice selection of workout equipment! always a greeting as we enter the fitness club. the equipment is in good condition. the trainer is helpful. we look fwd to going as it truly is a no judgement zone (quoting PF TV ad) unfortunately the front desk appears more interested in chatting w each other then answering questions. former team members were friendlier

I love this workout place. It may not have a pool but, it has every machine and free weights you need to work your body. It also has a good atmosphere and the people coming are awesome.

Clean gym, excellent price, easy to sign up & scan in with the app. I don't think its fair to give this particular gym low scores because they underwent a renovation (which is done now). When it is busy at peak times, I wish there was some more room for stretching and standing room in front of the mirrors.

UPDATE! - happy to move it to 5 stars
- The upgrades have been worth the wait.
- everything is always clean
- lots of good variety of things to do so you don’t get bored of the same routine
- mgmt contacted me immediately after the last review and I was impressed. She seemed like she cared about the gym and the members
- merchandise for gym needs are available again!

I can tell that this location is under renovation, so I’ll give them that, but I’ve had several visits recently that are disappointing, due to varying reasons:
- there is only one single water fountain and it was closed. No free water available
- multiple alcoves closed simultaneously (only floor equipment available for over a week)
- all massage chairs closed
- all tanning beds closed
- no merchandise, equipment, amenities for sale (in case you forgot tanning lotion, goggles, earbuds for your visit)
- check-in system not working

Granted, most of these I believe are due to scheduled upgrades, and I’m looking forward to those upgrades. I must’ve just started attending this location at the wrong time bc all of these things have happened inside a month, so every time I arrive, something about the gym is lacking.
The staff are very friendly, but more than half of them don’t seem to be able to answer questions about the amenities or changes going on.
