Planet Fitness is the best gym franchise I love the company and equipment they give great massage tables and chairs as part of the membership. I have fun when I come here people and staff always are friendly. They have a great attitude and it is wonderful working out every day. After posting a one star review and receiving a response from owner , I do have to give credit when credit is due
After my complaint ,the next day was a vast improvement ! The staff has constantly kept this place spotless , soaps are always full, staff is constantly seen cleaning bathrooms , vacuuming around equipment and keeping this place clean !
This place is the only one that I have seen that updates their equipment to the newest ones available , I have visited Planet Fitness in various locations in California and Idaho ,none compare to this location . To take this to the next level , the top would be to greet guest as they come in and acknowledge them leaving as other Planted fitness do

Went to workout today and went to wash my hands after using men Bathroom and as I went to wash my hands not one but BOTH SOAP DISPENSERS WERE EMPTY ! . So I walked right to front desk and told the the male employee that both the soap dispensers were empty and I repeated this twice to let him know that he understood what I was saying so that he would get on it .

After my hour and half workout went back in to use restrooms again to wash my hands before leaving and wouldn’t you know it , they were STILL EMPTY !
So as I was walking out this guy was just sitting and doing nothing !
So beware of this when your touching machines that men are using toilets and urinals then running their dirty hands on every machine they use .

Gym itself is perfectly fine! Generally friendly staff! Parking lot can get a bit crazy with fast drivers cutting through and some glass, so just be mindful of how you park.

I attempted to cancel my membership In June of 2025, I spoke with an employee (Corax) and she told me that I would have to pay for each month leading up till the end of the year and then a early cancellation fee on top of that in order to cancel. She then told me that it would cheaper to come back in a few months and cancel in august to avoid the early cancellation fee. I did so and came back in august after paying for 2 more months of a membership I was not using. She then told me that she gave me the wrong information and that I would have to come back in October. I said screw it and just canceled Right then and there. They took $58 out of my account and said I was all squared away and it was canceled. I even got a email confirmation of the cancellation. Then next month I was still again charged 15 dollars each month for another 3 months before I realized it wasn’t actually canceled. I called again and they told me there was no record of me canceling my membership even tho they had taken the money from my account. Canceling this membership has been an ongoing nightmare and no one seems to be able to help. I’m warning everyone who gets a membership here to re think there choice because it is an absolute nightmare to change your mind. And they will continue to take your money time and time again with no remorse.

I cancelled my membership in July 2025, I got a email confirmation in July that it was cancelledfrom planet fitness, but planet fitness keep charging me every month subsequently after july. I emailed them again to ask if someone who could help me with this issue and I didn't get a response. Cancelling my membership with them has been an ongoing nightmare. Each month that they keep charging me, dispite my formal cancellation that was recognized by the gym, I will write a bad review on every site I can reach, sharing my story and warning others about joining this gym.

Beware! They let my minor child sign a gym contract and use my debit card for what he thought was just a 1 day pass. It turned out to be a contract for $15 monthly fees to come out of my bank account, plus an additional fee of approximately $45.00. When I called them, they told me I’d have to come down and sign something. I told them I’m disabled and asked if they could email it to me. They said no. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Instead, the same person I initially spoke with called back and said their supervisor said the same thing they already told me. At that point, I reported it to my bank as fraud and have received my money back but it was a long and tedious process nobody should have to go through.

The layout of this Plant Fitness is a bit weird. The machines are way too close together with all the available space they have. Most planet fitnesses will have two sets of most machines with a separate section for the 30 minute workout making it a total of 3 sets. However, this one only has one set with the 30 minute workout zone right next to it. There's enough space to bring out some of the more commonly used ones.

I strongly dislike planet fitnesses that close early on the weekends. 9pm on a Friday and 8pm on Saturday and Sunday is too early and does not work with my schedule.

Also, no one at this location greets you or says bye when you leave. That's not a big deal, but every other location I've been to does this so it does make me wonder about their customer service. I'm here for a few months for work and I'm glad this is not my home location.

I am the type of person who goes to the gym, puts on my headphones and does my workout and goes home. But since this gym has done their makeover I have to say, i hate working out now! They took away the 30 minute w/o room and replaced it with basically nothing. The machines out on the floor are crowded, placed willy nilly with no rhyme or reason. There are never enough machines no matter what time I go. So very disappointing. They added weightlifting areas that are never ever utilized. I honestly hate it! The worst decision PF ever made!!👎👎👎👎👎

Happy with the new equipment! Definitely needed! Could use some more kettle bells over 30 pounds. There literally a million dumbbells but only kettles to 30lbs. Could use more equipment like balance pads etc. Not a fan of the GM. Didn’t really seem too friendly when asked if they are getting more kettle bells. Was a great gym until they told us we couldn’t use the brand new free weight racks for bench press and for only squats and deadlifts. They replaced the old good smith machines with trash ones that I hurts shoulders because of the straight angle. Sadly If they don’t allow us to use the free weights for bench I’m going to have to switch gyms.

I am not one to leave negative reviews, but I have tried talking to the people at the counter MANY times with zero success. I agree with the other people who have recently commented that the showers and bathrooms are horrible. Many days it stinks like urine in the locker room and debris is scattered on the floor and in the lockers, often to be found in the same lockers the next day you are in. The scalding hot/chillingly cold showers have been an issue for 10 days now and I have reported several times. The staff logs it in a book and that's as far as it goes. Complaints about the locker room hygiene have the same effect. I have NEVER seen someone clean the locker room while I have been there. Why can't they implement the same routine as a convenient store and go in every hour and clean and then log it on a clip board? I'm not a fan of the new configuration either - way too tight around the new machines - but that's a matter of taste, I guess. Cleanliness should be their first priority. I'm giving it another month and then switching if this doesn't work.

The new layout of the gym awful, to put it lightly. Some equipment is grouped way too tightly together and it feels like strangers are breathing down your neck, while other areas have big open spaces that aren't being utilized. The overall quality of the workout experience here has gone downhill within the past couple years too... dirty bathrooms, weird clientele, etc. I understand accessibility is a priority for PF but it kind of feels like a daycare for high schoolers and homeless people. Will probably not remain a member for much longer honestly.

Midday Friday, and the gym is closed for deep cleaning. Stuff happens yeah I get it. All the staff is nice here and I’d like to support them with positive words. However, Nine times out of 10 the bathrooms are in deplorable shape. Why can’t you guys do a random spot clean that takes 10 minutes every two hours, especially around the urinals and toilets??Why would you put cleanser out in the workout spots and encourage a clean environment, when management can be bothered to implement basic cleaning and sanitization of tracking the foul smelly infested urine, which goes from the stalls to the halls to the gym in terms of cross-contamination? I really enjoyed coming to this location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The layout of the lockers make sense which is a small thing that makes a difference. I have never been to a location where the showers are so frequently used so there were many times I left stinky and needed to shower at home. The gym has a great layout making all the equipment easy to use and easy to find. The people and staff are friendly and I enjoyed seeing them each day.

There was a dude doing some kind of drugs in the changing room, loudly snorting, talking to himself, and spitting on the floor 40 or 50x. I told the staff, the manager didn't care at all. He said the guy didn't violate any policies. (Spitting on the floor 40x??? 🤢🤮) idk how you dont at least say something to the guy. That and the water filter was red and totally dirty. They don't seem to take their gym very seriously.

Update: came back today as I'm in town one last day. The drug addict guy was here again. I let staff know, n let them know manager doesn't care when people do drugs and spit on the floor here. You can't wear a string tank top here but you can get tweaked and spit all over the place if you want to. Water filter still dirty, had to go get some from my car. Also the showers weren't cleaned since yesterday, the same brown body scrub stuff that was on the wall yesterday was still there today. (See pic) So not only do they let people spit on the floor hassle free, they don't clean up afterwards. Disgusting. I would absolutely never use this gym if I lived here

I asked the employee as he sat on the counter on his phone if the hydro lounge was open he said nah not until such and such time. I went to Planet Fitness at the Grand Junction location from September '22 to Jan '25. I had to change gym memberships because of another person who went there and found another gym to go to. I would love to give this place a better review, but because of their constant staff change over, there is never any consistency at the gym. We tried to go in today and they denied us entrance because our daughter who has been allowed to go multiple times is under the age of 13 by a few months. The funny thing is that staff had previously signed her up with her own account as a guest under our black card and she enjoys working out with us at the gym as she is an athlete in middle school. It is beyond frustrating to be excited to go to the gym to have some new staff member you’ve never seen before tell you you can’t come in. When I asked for a manager, I was told there was not one on site.

We have spent time at this gym and also at Mesa fitness in Grand Junction. Planet fitness has more selection with their workout machines and seems to be less crowded than Mesa fitness even during busy times.

Who's on the treadmills when you're using the equipment? There were several machines that weren't available because they were broken. Also in my opinion, they offer "all these amenities"... tanning, massages, work out equipment, but, bring your own towel.
What kind of gym, doesn't supply towels in their locker rooms? They charge 25$ a month, if you bring a guest, they are only aloud to use the work out equipment, nothing else.
Lame.
And no one wants to ask for a towel at a gym, or ask for eye wear when tanning... why pay for bad customer service? incredibly uncomfortable and greedy.

The machines appear to be well maintained and updated. They have all the regular gym equipment and even one machine that I don’t know what it does. lol They have massage chairs, hydro massage, lay down and stand up tanning as well. The club is clean and the front girl was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. No complaints.

I've worked out at least 15 planet fitness gyms, and this one is easily one of the best! Tons of dumbbell weights, free space for stretching, and always really clean.

This place needs a remodel. There are no dial locks on the lockers. Some of the machines are "out of order & torn seats. The leg press felt like you were riding over rumble strips. We didn't like the layout, but that is just personal preference. There's zero privacy working out as it's one large room. Machines face each other. We just haven't been to one like this before .They could really use some new equipment and some remodeling! Many of the machines weren't smooth as if they were old and worn. And it's just not clean. There's stuff all over the floors, especially in the women's locker room and bathrooms. At home PF is frequently walking around cleaning the place.. But it's not a corporate one. Maybe corporate Planet Fitness has low standards.
We traveled from out if town. We're just used to nicer PFs. I've noticed other people traveling from out of town did not rate this gym very highly either. The one positive is there seems to be an excess of cardio machines and plenty of equipment
