The Westminster location gets a clear win over this one. I appreciate the hours here.. but I dread when I have to use this location.

The parking lot has drunks and creeps at night. This location has the most nasty sweaty guys that don't bother wiping equipment. Ew!! And tonight the whole gym smelled strong like Mary j. Someone was definitely smoking it inside-- either in the locker room or the employee area. Don't want that while I'm working out!!

After being prompted by an email survey Im updating my review as many original things I talked about HAVE been fixed.

After being a black member for several years:

I like: the atmosphere the employees and the other gym goers have a positive attitude and seem to enjoy being there. The place seems to be clean all of the time.

Don't like: the gym ambient music can be really loud sometimes. Some of the equipment is broken, in particular one of the benches is stuck in the complete upright position and has been for months. Some of the equipment padding needs to be replaced as well. Also I feel some of the machines need to be lubricated/maintained and that never seems to happen. The pulleys are more difficult than normal.

Overall not a bad gym and I continue to go despite the ongoing issues.

I am a black card member and my husband joins me as a guest occasionally. We had a miscommunication of which pf to meet at. He ended up at this location. His phone died and he took the bus there . He called me from this location and I was telling him I was at the Lakewood pf and I heard Marie, the front desk person screaming at him to get off the phone and she made him hang up. Unprofessional behavior. I called here to verify this. Now ,more than 24 hours later I still have not been able to locate my husband; because Marie decided she was mad at him for using the phone even though he had her permission.

Guy with the long hair is making this location look bad. Consistently parks in the handicap spot in front of the gym. Then try’s to bs his way around it after I called him out on his crap and said “since it doesn’t have a sign it’s not a handicap spot.” How tacky can this employee be to make this statement when he’s clearly parking in a marked spot for handicap people in front of a gym. Planet fitness should be embarrassed they have an employee using the handicap spot when he has no reason to be parked there in the first place. Just one of the issues I’ve had with this employee and finally said something today. I’m not one to turn a blind eye on someone doing something inconsiderate towards people who may need the provided parking.

I've been to a lot of planet fitnesses in Colorado and the one on 72nd and Sheridan is hands down the best! The staff are super friendly, especially the ladies that work the late shift...they are awesome! It's always clean and I have never had to wait in line for anything. I feel welcome here and that really means a lot in a world where so many are quick to judge you without really knowing you. Oh and they have a hybrid tanning bed which a lot of PF's don't so bonus credit!

I usually like going to the 72nd PF. Clean and friendly. Today I'm lying down, stretching, with my eyes closed and a young PF employee interrupts me with "excuse me? Excuse me?" He can see I'm busy. He tells me he's leaving soon and wants me to check the women's restrooms so he can hurry to do that and go home. Very rude and he could have waited or asked another better more obvious choice.

Planet Fitness… you have failed myself and the customers. Another older employee is no longer with the company. So many employees that helped Make this PF my home Gym are now gone. Yes. Working out is self Motivated. But to have convos and encouragement from the staff, helped on bad days. Do better PF.

Some of their equipment seems like they could be serviced/oiled. They don’t have any benches or mirrors in the individual changing rooms like some of the other planet fitness locations so you’re left to put your stuff on the floor. Friendly people at the desk though!

Rude staff and unprofessional manager! My younger brother has used my black card extra guest card for 2 weeks now but today they decided I need to be present as well. I understand that. But my 16 yo brother was approached aggressively by a staff member asking “if they’re going to have a problem.” Spoke to the manager and he just defended this behavior. Good location. I travel a lot & visit different planet fitness locations. Often shower after workout- REALLY wish the showers had the dressing booth attached to the shower stall instead of across the room- that's probably a corporate thing... would be nice if there were at least a couple of hooks for towels & a bag.
However, this location in Westminster met my expectations. It was clean and well kept with pleasant staff.

I'm extremely disappointed. I belonged to planet fitness for some time when they first came here. Now that I am returning to Arvada, I stopped in to speak briefly with them. I stepped into the large open entry with my clean mountain bike after riding 20 miles, and this is how I was greeted, "Bikes must be outside and locked up!" I took my bike outside and left. This is NOT how we greet people in a people industry. Now, if they had asked how they could help me first, or would I mind or could I please take my bike outside I would have been okay with it, but if this is how you greet someone, I'm good. That's a sign of very poor customer service.
All I wanted to do is see the inside of this location and then return another day to join. Like I said, I'm good. I'll find a different gym.

Lots of choices of equipment. Not crowded so I don’t have long wait times, if any, to be able to use the equipment I want to use. This allows me to get in/out quicker while being able to change up my routines so it’s not boring. The staff are super friendly. I get to bring a friend when I want to as well. Ending the workout with the water jet massage is perfect!

I had been a member for two years when I was unexpectedly threatened by the manager, Tommi, who stated that the police would be called on me if I did not leave the premises, I was informed that I could no longer be present as a member or a guest. When I inquired about the reason for my ban, I was ignored and given no explanation. I was told HR would contact me and up to present moment, I have not received any calls.
This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and harassed, and I am concerned that this treatment may be related to my Hispanic background / skin color.

The glory days of this location are gone. It seems to be all of my favorite employees are leaving. They were the best ever in greeting, welcoming, and motivating me when I came in to workout. I knew all of them by their first name. They were the best at giving that A+ service and going above and beyond. They kept the gym sparkling. Now the new staff are just unfriendly, the gym is dirty, broken dispensers, disgusting showers, and tootsie roll wrappers everywhere. Every time I come in it’s just a rude young lady on her laptop. Little did I know that was the new manager. I can see how she leads her staff (or not lead I should say). Unfortunately, when new management comes in and doesn’t know what they’re doing, that’ll ruin a once flourishing club. I don’t blame the old staff moving on for a change, as I am feeling the same. It’s time for a new journey and join another club. Thanks for the memories, but sorry to see this place in shambles now.

I joined PF when they first opened ( back when the contractors put a camera in the tanning bed room) not PF fault! I quit for 2 years because of the lack of cleaning and out of order equipment for long periods of time. The gym I joined closed and is now a church… too bad they didn’t keep the equipment, we could sweat to Jesus … lol
I’ve been back to PF for years again and black card membership since I travel a lot and it’s nice to have a gym if the hotel’s gym is just a treadmill. Well, PF is back to dirty, flooding in the ladies room ( seems all the time) you will get your daily steps in looking for a working towel dispenser to clean your equipment you used … at this time I have counted 4 dispensers not working, but yet used paper towels laying around everywhere! My inner Virgo cleans up all the empty cans, water bottles and paper towels tossed around if I have seen them for 24 hours .. I’m paying PF to clean their gym! I have lots of choice for the same amount I currently pay! Come on PF you can do better! I did talk to the new manager about this and I’m not a jerk, I was very kind. Now I get the cold shoulder .. I guess wasn’t a good idea, so now I tell google 😎💪

I have been a loyal member of Planet Fitness for several years now, attracted by their promise of a judgment free zone and affordable memberships. Unfortunately, my recent experiences with the management at the Westminster branch, particularly with the manager Tommie, have left much to be desired. Initially, I was pleased with the friendly atmosphere maintained by the staff, but noticed a decline in the cleanliness of the facilities during my early morning visits. When I reached out to Tommie, I found her approach to addressing my concerns dismissive and unhelpful, a stark contrast to the supportiveness I've come to expect from Planet Fitness. On multiple occasions, I've raised issues regarding equipment maintenance and overall cleanliness, only to be met with indifference by Tommie. Furthermore, her lack of presence and positive engagement with both staff and members has noticeably impacted the morale and environment of the branch. It's disheartening to witness such a lack of leadership and customer service at the management level in a place that champions positivity and inclusivity. I sincerely hope for a reevaluation of the current management. The ongoing issues under Tommie's oversight have led me to reconsider my membership, despite my years of satisfaction with Planet Fitness. A change is necessary to realign with the values and standards that drew me to Planet Fitness in the first place

I have been a member for 7 years and lately things have been changing. First, in the last few months when I arrive on Monday mornings at 5am to work out, I find the doors are locked. This has happened three times and now I don’t go on Monday mornings because I am on a time line to get to work on time and if I can’t count on them being open, I don’t go. Also, recently, when I go to get paper towels to clean weight machines the paper towel dispensers are broken. In fact, most are broken and if they are not broken they don’t have any paper in them. Prior to the past few months I had no complaints but it is obvious that those in charge are letting things slip.

Not sure what happened but this gym has significantly gone downhill. All the good staff members seem to be leaving. One of the employees snapped at me because I had my headphones in and needed an alternate payment on my account and I come to find out she’s the new manager! This is the dirtiest I’ve seen it. This weekend the girls locker room was a complete mess and doesn’t even seem like anyone cleans it. The feminine hygiene trash can was overflowing and was absolutely disgusting! Every paper towel dispenser seems to be broken which makes no sense with this being a gym. I will definitely be going to go to a different location which sucks because I’ve been going here for 2 years.

This location used to be a great facility, but in the last couple of months since the new manager Tommi has taken over this gym has severely gone down hill….she doesn’t know how to treat the guest or the staff, and she can’t even “manage” to get the water filter changed out over two weeks now that’s it’s been on 🛑. She should not be in such a position as she has also, touched guest and their belongings for petty reasons. If she or anyone else ever touches me at a Planet Fitness, I will file a law suit and own your gym when I’m done. Tommi, please read some leadership books because, you have an immense amount to learn regarding public relations and team development. Overall, the gym itself is nice. They recently replaced the equipment with machines that count reps and have a timer, which I really like. The staff isn't very friendly, but the real issue is with punctuality. They're supposed to open at 5:00 AM on Mondays, but will often accumulate a crowd of people waiting for the employee to show up. It's usually 5-10 minutes late, and it happens regularly enough that I would definitely avoid going here. There's another location off 88th that I will be trying instead.

I have been going to this PF location for about 2 months and I love it! First, the cleanliness is off the charts; employees are always seem cleaning, wiping and vacuuming floors. These days, that’s very appreciated. The layout is such where there is no overcrowding. There are 4 Smith machines; my personal favorite. Plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing. Staff is always ready and eager to help, but also stay in the background and allow people to do their thing. Anytime I’ve had questions, all employees, Charles, and Lisa especially, have always been so eager to help. The crowd is quite a blend; from fitness buffs to older people, to young people experimenting with the gym life; everyone does their own thing and apart from one or two individuals, who definitely fit the term “muscle head”, everyone is basically everyday people. I’ve been in those types of hardcore, intimidating gyms and this is definitely not it. If I had to pick one thing I wish was different, and that isn’t easy, I wish they had some more calf machines; a seated and a standing calf raise machine. But really, that aside, PF has everything I could need in a workout facility: equipment, room, atmosphere, friendly and sincere staff, a blend of everyday people and superb cleanliness.

Me and my Gram-Gram came here looking to become members if we liked the gym. I usually use resistance machines but my Gram-Gram likes free weights. She reps super sets like no ones buisness. Customer service is a nightmare and they have no qualms about stealing money from you even after you've cancelled your membership. Found out today that they have been charging our account since 2017 for a membership that should have been cancelled back then. There is a "strict policy" that the only way to get a refund is by showing them the cancellation letter, which we never received. Shouldn't they have that on file? When challenged on their terrible business practices, the manager (THE. MANAGER.) swore at my husband, and we have no recourse for recovering the money (over $1,000) that they've charged us.

I asked for a 1 time visit, and the employee said I should just pay for a month and there will be no additional billing. As soon as the month ended more bills and fees I never agreed to and was never warned about appeared on my bank statement.

Update: although planet fitness will attempt to use hidden statements in their terms and services to bully you out of your money, these are not binding. Reach out to your bank, and they should be able to help you get any fraudulent charges returned.

This is the best out of the branches in the area. The equipment is organized in a way that prevents crowding, there is more than one machine for some workouts, the individuals in the front desk are very welcoming and helpful, the space is clean and organized and importantly, the hydro massage beds are actually working (this is not obvious, unfortunately). Recommend!

My favorite Planet Fitness in Colorado. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The club is always clean and they have a solid variety/amount of equipment. It seems a lot less busy than other PF in the area. Would highly recommend. My only complaint is that they don't have those newer style massage chair pods that they have at other clubs.

They're not very reliable answering the phone. Sometimes I have to call and call and call until someone answers. Some of the Staff don't seem very knowledgeable sometimes...

It's a starter gym and nothing more. Almost no free weights with dumbells that only go to 75lbs. Only has 4 smith machines that are usually taken up. They really need like 6. If you're just there for cardio, it's a good gym. Half the gym is cardio equipment.
