I've been a member of this studio for about a year. This is my collective review from the last 12 months.
I've danced at multiple other studios. I came to Sankalpa with about 5-6 years of pole dancing experience under my belt, but also extremely burnt out and jaded from toxic cultures at other studios. But pole is one of those things - no matter for how long you quit, you can't stop thinking about it.
My last two studios burned me out so much that I stopped pole dancing for 2-3 years because I was sick of the competitive, petty cultures fostered by those studios. The behavior was allowed to continue because of the studio owners turning a blind eye and being focused on making more money, rather than building community. Before returning to pole - because the desire to dance again grew so strongly - I emailed multiple local studios with a series of questions to understand the values, culture, and inclusivity of each studio.
This is where Rose is an incredible leader in the space - she replied thoroughly via e-mail and took the time to call me and have a lengthy conversation, addressing all my questions and giving me the confidence that Sankalpa was the space for me. Rose and Jessy have built this incredible community of knowledgeable and diverse instructors, contained in a beautiful space, that attracts lovely humans who are a direct reflection of the values that this studio emanates.
Furthermore, what makes this studio especially unique is that it is a space for athletic pole as much as it is SW-inclusive. So many studios take an ugly stance against the polarizing history of the sport. Literally, everyone is welcome here, and that is the beauty of the studio. It's diverse, LGBTQ+ friendly, body-positive, and a welcoming space for all who walk through those doors. It might not be perfect for everyone's experience, but comparing to the studios I've danced at before... Sankalpa is the gold standard.
I'd also like to add that, despite having 5-6 years of experience under my belt, I've made more progress in the last year at this studio, than my entire experience prior. I finally learned how to do a handspring! I'm making - albeit slow and small, but steady - progress in my splits and flexibility. I'm overcoming my trauma-based fear of handstands and starting to try some hand stand moves without having a panic attack. I've been able to improve my mobility and address some chronic pain which doctors couldn't figure out with multiple MRIs.
Maybe I'm a bit in love with Sankalpa. Okay, I am in love. Not everyone will share my experience. However, having come from several studios that missed the mark, I have an enormous amount of appreciation for the space that Rose and Jessy have created. I'm grateful to call this my pole home!
If you've read this far, please check it out! We'd love to have you!

Easy parking in the lot near the studio (the spots are not super wide so be careful). The studio has a very welcoming front reception area with a fun oversized couch, water, etc. There are two rooms. The restroom is accessible through either of those rooms and they let you walk through the rooms (during classes if needed) to get to the restroom.
The mirror in the studio I went to (class was Melt with Amy) was huge and helpful. There was plenty of space in the class for all the students signed up to space out.
I was able to sign up in advance using Classpass (thanks for the accessible booking option for travelers!) Melt is like a floorwork choreo class and it was fun and slinky and ooey gooey.

Such a lovely studio! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. The instructors are so helpful and understanding - they recognize and reiterate that everyone's body is different, so not everyone's movement is going to look or feel the same. There's just so much love here, and it's such a beautiful community.

This is beautiful studio all around ❤️ The classes & teachers who offer them are truly amazing. I nervously walked into Sankalpa 1 year ago, but it was the best decision I’ve ever made!
You can find the classes you like at the level best for you - whether it’s pole, yoga, pilates, dance … this space is all about embodiment, self expression, and self care. Sankalpa is an accepting and encouraging safe space, and everyone feels like a friend 😊

After wanting to try pole for a while, I decided to bite the bullet and try the $7 for 7 days deal at Sankalpa and instantly fell in love! Now a little less than 6 months in, I have seen tremendous growth in my confidence, strength, and ability. The instructors at Sankalpa have given me the support to safely take on new challenges. I have done pole, yoga, Pilates, floorwork, heels, flexibility and conditioning, etc. and I can truly say that Sankalpa has the best instructors, they allow me to step outside my comfort zone & have the confidence to try new things. This place has seriously changed my life and I am so glad to be apart of such an amazing community!

I’ve been attending pole classes at Sankalpa for the past several months, and my experience has been amazing. Where to begin- the space is stunning, spacious, and bright. The community is so welcoming and embracing. Most of all, the instructors are all absolutely wonderful! I have primarily taken classes with Kevin, Emma, Kiki, and Lisha. Each are unique in their approaches, while they all have helped me embrace my body, self expression, and increase my confidence and pole skills! Highly encourage you to check out the studio for yourself :)

I wish I had found it sooner on my trip so I could have attended additional classes. The studio is stylistically beautiful but also clean and accessible. Additionally, all of the staff were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. If I lived in Denver I would definitely be going to this studio!

We booked a 1.5 hour private party with Sankalpa for a bachelorette party. We were running quite late so we tried to call them multiple times to let them know we were running late. We even left a voicemail. They never picked up the phone. We arrived exactly half an hour late. There was still enough time for A WHOLE HOUR of our private party but the instructor had left. They never called us to check in, never picked up their phones, and only emailed us once they had left. The communication on their end was atrocious, especially considering how highly rated they are on Google. I recommend any other folks who might be considering booking a private party here to steer clear.

Best vibes, best community, and best teachers. I’ve been training under Emma for awhile, so when she told me that she is teaching classes at the new Sankalpa location, I happily followed, and it’s the best decision I ever made.
The studio is beautiful, perfect backdrop for all those videos I like taking during class.
The monthly membership is such a good price, and with a full schedule, I can find a class (or 2) to take every single day.
But my favorite part is the community. It feels like everyone in the building is my friend, even if I haven’t met them yet. And the environment gives me ample opportunity to actually meet everyone. It’s so nice having a community of people who enjoy the same passions as I do.

Sankapla pole fitness, such a wonderful studio! The space is beautiful and fits the theme of the first location! The lobby is so welcoming also large enough to sit and chat with your friends after class!!! Then you start to look into their instructor line up and it’s a power house!!!! The whole staff is knowledgeable, qualified and supportive!
I love the new 24/7 option for polers to use the space when classes aren’t in session!!
So happy this place was able to find a new location and reopen!! When Sankapla originally closed I also lost my membership, which I just purchased. I definitely was a little nervous about what the future might hold for the studio and my finances. Finally Sankapla open back up and the owner did indeed refund my membership from the first studio ❤️❤️. Thank you for all you have done for me and my community ❤️

This place is more than a pole dance studio*** i think this is not clear to some people so i want to make it clear. You can find amazing yoga classes and a very welcoming community here too. This place was the first yoga/dance studio i found when i moved to Denver and even though i have explored, the environment and the people here is what makes it so special. I love the Shakti Flow & Dance class! The instructor, Kimmy, has a beautiful feminine energy and it’s a great practice to get more in tune with your feminine energy as well. Thank you Jessy for providing a space for expression and freedom. 🤍

I was so thrilled to hear this space opening in my neighborhood. At the time I was a bit apprehensive of returning to a gym-like environment with Covid. I reached out to the owner to see what practices would be in place to ensure the safety of its patrons and was pleasantly surprised in the owner's speedy and thorough response. She had obviously been taking this seriously and followed through in numerous safe practices and physical upgrades to the building. She has top quality air filtration systems, follows the county's specific capacity guidelines, checked temperatures for EVERY person and upholds a strict full-face mask coverage policy as well as your own alcohol bottles to disinfect ANY shared piece of equipment (matts, bolsters, blankets, poles, etc)
They're also environmentally conscious with re-usable wash cloths , compost, trash, and recycle bins with appropriate signage to ensure proper use, and moreover welcoming to ALL people with a 'come as you are attitude.'
In taking 147 classes since its opening, I have felt nothing but encouragement, celebration, acceptance and love from this community and would highly encourage you to visit! This is a mindfully clique-free environment. If you've ever been curious about pole fitness or want a space to feel free to explore movement, dance, yoga, mindfulness, spirituality.. look no further. Sankalpa Collective has become a true sanctuary for me and Im so thankful to every individual making it such an exceptional and diverse space.

This is the place for those curious about (or already in love with) movement medicine. No cookie-cutter approaches here. Katie, Nel, Devon, Katelyn, Jeremy, Drake: all of the teachers I have met here so far are highly engaging, powerful in their unique approaches, and so kind & welcoming that it brings a sparkly tear to my eye. As someone who struggles with complacency in their practice, there are classes here which soothe & nourish me. Then, there are classes which (lovingly & safely) set me on fire to the very core and make me question everything I think I know about having chosen to incarnate in corporeal form. Sankalpa is a choose your own adventure kind of place. The classes, immersions & workshops here are really fun, highly educational, and a great value. The diversity of lessons & nurturing community energy makes this building a true home for healing. <3

I LOVE the Sankalpa Collective! Never before have I experienced a space that truly embraces and celebrates different modalities of movement while also create a culture that is inclusive and supportive. Marquette's Twerkshop combines a kickass sweaty workout with dance and she does an amazing job educating her students on the history of twerk, while also encouraging her students to do their own research and growth in acknowledging the cultures it derives from. Katelyn Hansen's Goddess Gatherings are a MUST - a transformative and healing space to let loose, dance, cry, anything you need to release what you need to. Sarah's yoga classes are an absolute dream. I can't speak more highly about the individuals who teach and take classes in this space - I've never taken a class that I didn't enjoy there. It's hard to come by such a close community during this pandemic, when you can only see part of someone's face due to mask wearing and social distancing. Sankalpa Collective works hard to keep the space clean, to respect mask and social distancing protocols to maintain the safety of its students and teachers.

This studio has become my new hOM🕉.
I just recently moved here from illinois, and I was absolutely dreading that I had to find a new yoga studio. If you are in the same boat, STOP LOOKING! The Sankalpa Collective is very welcoming and they offer absolutely wonderful classes. My favorite parts about this studio is the massive space, the cleanliness, and that some of the yoga classes have the traditional feel to them. Along with all of this, the instructors are all intelligent in what they teach and are all extremely kind souls. If you’re debating on stopping by to take a class, JUST DO IT! You will not regret it.
Aside from Yoga, I tried my very first Pole dancing class, and Jessy truly made me feel comfortable and I felt like I was on cloud 9 after the class.
Just go to this studio already! 💖💖💖 so worth it☺️

Sankapla has been so great in that respect, I’ve met so many new friends, and continue to learn so many cool new things! They offer a wide variety of classes, encouraging and promoting confidence and strength to all their patrons! I highly recommend!

Where is the 10- STARS button??
As someone who CHOOSES to SPEND a large portion of my time at SanKalpa each week (3-4 days a week and 2-4 classes each day- let’s say an average of 9 hours/week)... I have never experienced anything other than overwhelming sense of community and inclusion. Not only do they have a wide variety of class offerings, the amazing instructors and my awesome classmates seem very diverse and from all walks of life as well.
I have yet to take a class, met an instructor, or dealt with any staff member that hasn’t been truly wonderful at SanKalpa! I absolutely ADORE this studio and the community being built here… by the people who actually attend this studio!
Thank you for giving me a "pole home" again <3

I’m not sure if the people on here who posted the negative reviews have even been to Sankalpa.
I’m a POC and every class I’m in, I see has a great number of diverse group of people. It’s an amazing community Sankalpa created since the opening. I enjoy chatting with people and hearing their backgrounds. As a POC person, I do get nervous sometimes what people think of me. The owner Jessy, all the instructors, and other students are always touching base and genuinely seeking how I’m doing. I’ve never felt more welcome and included in this community.
The studio has been my second home since COVID. Im pregnant and worried about getting COVID. I love the measures they taken since their opening to prevent the spread of COVID. I feel extremely safe going to the studio. I take pole classes and yoga classes there.
Thank you Sankalpa Collective and Jessy for all you do.

I look forward to being in her energy every week.
The classes are a great rate, offering discounts per class when buying "packs". The two rooms (yoga + pole) are very large and allow for plenty of distancing during Covid. Sanitizer bottles and clean rags are in every station! The bathroom decor is so cute and the yoga room has a softer yoga floor! I did a 90 minute yoga and sound therapy session and it was absolutely amazing. Classes are varied and for every type. The owner, Jessie, is absolutely lovely and will make you feel welcome no matter what. I would highly recommend!!!

I've gone to countless pole, yoga, calisthenics, and fitness studios across Denver and Sankalpa is by far my favorite. It's a positive environment with fun, diverse, and challenging programming - I love it, and I'm pretty sure you will to!
NEG REVIEW NOTE: if you actually read them, the vast majority of the negative reviews of this business are from people who have never actually been there.

The class I attended there was great. I would have given a higher rating if they had the policy of allowing vaccinated people to go maskless by checking our vaccination status. It seems like they don't want to give vaccinated people more freedom because they disagree with the mandates. The unvaccinated are the reason why we're having to go back to mask mandates and those of us who have been responsible and gotten vaccinated shouldn't have to pay the price for those who refuse to do so.

I am totally blown away by the quality of the first 2 classes I've taken and the vibe of the space!! The people are friendly and people are talking and hanging out before and after classes. So friendly and welcoming. They even convinced me to try a dance class that I never would have been brave enough to step into on my own.
Plus I've been doing yoga for 15 years and when I say Drake is one of the best teachers I've come across, I mean it. He clearly has been trained in a variety of different styles, and instead of relying on rigid structure, he remains emergent, trusting in the space. The class was created on the spot as a response to the conversation we were all having with our movement practice that day and it was done with the expertise of someone who truly speaks the language of energetic movement in the body.
I'm so happy I found this studio.

Yesterday was my first time doing any kind of class like this, I took aerial 1, and the teacher, I think her name was Sarah, was amazing. She was so kind and helpful and didn't make me feel inferior at all for my lack of experience. She helped ease me into a couple different poses I was struggling with, was so encouraging and supportive, and gave me an extra push at the end when I had to bail out of my hammock and turn an alarm off. I will absolutely be back, this was the most fun I've had working out, despite being made of jello today (in the best way). 🤍

I am so, so, SO glad friends of mine introduced me to The Sankulpa Collective. I'm grateful for this beautiful, alive and growing community and the incredible classes that it has provided for me and for so many others I know. I love the owner, Jessy, more and more every time I interact with her. I have met more wonderful people than I ever thought was possible within my 3 months of practing there. Last night alone I met at least 5 new people - students and instructors - who I am genuinely looking forward to seeing again. I have felt authentically welcomed and safe every time I go (which is 2-4x a week) and love that I can 150% be myself as a woman of color. My complete comfort in showing up as myself is invaluable to me. I want to say it again: invaluable.
If you are new to a Sankulpa class or have been before and want to meet more people and you see me (I'm tall, brown, have curly hair, and am usually wearing hoop earrings!) come over and say hi and I would be SO happy to practice next to you.
Do yourself the favor of honoring your curiosity and ability to explore new experiences and check their classes out (the studios and lounge space are gorgeous, too!). I've loved trying out new yoga, dance and movement classes and I can't wait to try more. I'm so glad this studio has opened in Denver!

I’m so thankful for this space and the wonderful ladies who run it. At a time when attending classes in person is challenging, coming here is absolutely worth the extra effort!

Had an absolutely amazing time here! The staff are all warm, encouraging and inviting. Although there is a level of difficulty to some of the classes, the amount of fun you have definitely takes the pressure off and you end up leaving with more joy than you entered with, and in my case, more sweat 😅. I learned so much in just one class I had to sign up for more 😍 . I would definitely recommend this studio for anyone at any level who just wants to try something out and get started!

This is perhaps the most lovely space I've had the pleasure of teaching and practicing at in my many years in the Denver yoga community. The large gorgeous yoga room hosts plenty of space so you don't feel packed in, and the pole room is just beautiful. There is such a wide array of classes to choose from, and the teachers are all quite knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. The space is well kept, with numerous cleaning regiments in place, UV lights that consistently disinfect, and a state of the art air filtration system. I love our beautiful growing community so much, and I truly appreciate the welcome and inclusive vibe that has been cultivated.

Wow wow wow!
The Sankalpa Collective has me in Awe. The classes that this place has to offer is unbelievable. They have several different organic and traditional yoga (YESSSS! I love that) annnnd they offer a wide range of pole classes. I have never done pole before until I came to this studio (a true yogi here🙋🏻♀️) and I am so happy I did it here. The amount of love and support that you receive from not only the teachers but THE STUDENTS.. is amazing. I can easily say this is one of the first studios I’ve ever gone to where I don’t just go to my class and then leave. I have actually created deep friendships here and have found an amazing community. As a shy hispanic woman, I have truly never felt so welcomed anywhere else. ON TOP OF ALL THAT BEAUTY, Jessy the owner of this magical studio truly put a lot of thought into this place. By simply Looking around in the studio you can tell how much she thought and work she put in because of every little detail. To me it really seems like she wanted to make this space feel homie.. and In my opinion.. She SUCCEEDED on that.
If your trying to decide what yoga studio you want to go to.. stop looking! You have found the one :)

Speaking from experience, and visiting sankalpa many many times, I can tell you this is one of the best pole fitness places I have ever visited.
I would assume that the girls leaving negative comments have never been to sankalpa, and if they have been, they are probably salty they could not keep up with the rest of the girls.
There are beautiful people from all walks of life here and they are all welcomed every single time.
When covid first started the studio I went to closed and I wasn’t sure where I would go next. But at sankalpa I found an inviting atmosphere. Also they use alcohol in between uses of poles to desanitize and they require all people to use masks.
If you are posting negative comments for your friend saying that this place isn’t inclusive maybe it’s just that your friend sucks at pole. Hate to break it to you.

I had the privilege of watching this studio come to fruition from start to finish. The owner, Jessy, set an intention from the heart and it took an amazing amount of courage to start this space. The hearts and souls of the whole team have built a community that invites you to come as you are. The team is educated and diverse, a high-integrity, experienced collective of unique and passionate teachers. Just by looking at the schedule you can see how each teacher's style is embraced and supported. Teaching and practicing here is an honor - the space is so beautiful and the community is there to support and care for one another.

absolutely obsessed with this new studio. amazing space, super inclusive environment, some of the best teachers (shout out to my favorite teacher on earth, Marquette) and some of the most loving and supportive clientele. been taking classes there for about a month now and I love how Jessy has created access for many different people of many different backgrounds. personally, i come from a heavy dance background and was disappointed in the lack of advanced adult technique classes available in my area that aren't ballet and BAM we are graced with one of the best dance classes i've taken since before i moved to colorado. not only that, but if you want to try yoga, pole, or dance, you really can be from ANY movement background (from never taken a single class to a pro) and find something that works for you, your body, and movement style. my awesome friend Dominique will help you meet your bendy goals and my pole momma stephanie w (along with other amazing teachers) will get you poling like a pro before you know it. this studio is LGBTQ+ friendly and BIPOC friendly with a few of the best BIPOC women teachers you'll ever meet. and you'll make some amazing friends.
on top of that, i honestly have never felt more safe at a studio in regards to how they handle COVID protocols. they are number one in the studios i've been to when it comes to properly handling running a studio during a pandemic.

I would encourage anyone reading these reviews to take them all, good and bad, with a grain of salt. Instead, use the week of free classes to come in and have your own experience.
I’ve been to several pole and dance studios over the years, and this is my first yoga studio. Sankalpa is the most welcoming studio I have ever been to. I have yet to meet an instructor or another student who hasn’t been kind and friendly.
Please come and try a class for yourself. This is a studio where I finally feel comfortable and don’t feel the overhang of drama or judgement every time I walk through the door. I’d like others to experience that as well.

I love this studio! I happened across their 7 for $7 deal while on winter break and have been going every day. Every instructor is personable and knowledgeable, and the community is extremely supportive and inclusive. The studio is very clean, and goes above and beyond to serve clients (for example, they provide tea and fruit to snack on and the bathroom has complimentary samples of various scrubs, lotions, etc.) Besides that, I have noticed a huge improvement in my personal meditation practice and ability to be in tune with my body and remain present throughout the day. Definitely recommend coming here!!!

This studio is closed. Unfortunately I loved the instructors and had a great time at this studio, but would never be able to go there again once they re-open at a new location - not Broadway -after the terrible business practices during the business quickly closing. After announcing ONLY on their social media they would be closing the studio in 2 weeks, they were still selling 10-pack class passes on their website and app (that had no mention of the studio closing) that would not feasibly be able to be used before the studio was to close.
After buying a 10-class pack online and then learning the the studio was closing soon, I tried to get a refund in the studio the same day and was told to email the owner instead. I emailed Jessy and waited almost 2 weeks until her reply (the day after the studio had closed, conveniently). This is when she finally told me she would not be refunding the class pass that would never have been able to be used in the remaining time the studio was open. Cash grabbing from loyal customers as the studio is closing a truly horrible way to do business, and offering "when we reopen we will honoring this passes was if no time had passed" when you have no new studio location or plan in place is really worth nothing currently. What a sad way to leave what was a nice experience with all the instructors.

Whether you’re looking to dip your toe into yoga or pole, you’re an experienced yogi/dancer, or you just feel like something is missing from your life, you will find something that is for you here...along with a compassionate, loving, and accepting group of people who take you exactly as you are every day and leave you a little (or a lot) better. Every single instructor is amazing and brings their own unique value and strength to the studio. I am extremely grateful and fortunate to have found Sankalpa and to have been influenced so greatly by those who work there and the whole community. My friend told me about the $7 for 7 days deal and I’m pleased to say that after my first week, I plan to go back again and again! I’ve never had more fun at a yoga class. Katelyn’s Goddess Glow Yoga was such a treat and offered a delightfully non-traditional approach to the practice. Stephanie’s beginner pole fitness class was also a blast, and she didn’t make anyone feel inferior for being brand new.
