This gym is awesome!! It kicks my butt every time.
Great cardio during spin, some strength training, and then a bit of yoga to round it all out and cool down. I love how there’s so much space—it never feels crowded unlike most other gyms. Also everyone gets their own set of dumbbells/kettlebells of varying weights so you never run out. We never have to clean up after ourselves (wiping down weights, mats etc.) which is a nice bonus. The instructors are all kind and motivating.
Definitely give this spot a try! It’s well worth it and will kick you into shape!

To supplement individual workouts, I was looking for a group setting. SPENGA in Wheat Ridge is a great choice. The staff is engaged and were interested in my goals. They have followed up to get my feedback after the sessions. The instructors are terrific in motivation and coaching. The hour workout is an excellent combination of cardio, resistance and stretching/Yoga. Highly recommended!

$869. That’s how much Spenga Wheat Ridge took from me before I realized I was still being charged for a membership I was medically prohibited from using! Apparently, the document I signed under extreme distress when I submitted the required doctor’s note to be granted a medical suspension contained an arbitrary 3 month automatic expiration clause.
And when I say extreme distress, I mean extreme distress! For starters, I was experiencing intense and constant physical pain from the moderate spinal canal stenosis I had just been diagnosed with, I was one year into being a caregiver for my mother who went from being an active, healthy business owner to bed-ridden on a feeding tube with next virtually no communication capabilities, and just three days prior to signing the form, I had to resign from my role as Executive Director of the organization I founded 7 years prior. Needless to say, I was not in a headspace to realize the form stated an arbitrary date at which the medical leave would automatically expire, and I would begin being charged again for my membership, regardless of whether I was medically cleared to return to Spenga.
My mom passed in December, but it was not until June that I got back some semblance of normalcy in my life, which included having the time and headspace to review my credit card statements. I was SHOCKED to discover that I had been paying for a Spenga membership for 10 months despite never having stepped foot in the facility for over a year!
Because my overall experience with Spenga prior to needing to take medical leave had been quite positive, I assumed it was simply an honest mistake that would be easily rectified once I let them know I was still being billed for a membership that by order of a doctor I could not utilize. I mean, how else would you explain that when I was an active member, I regularly received phone calls and text messages when I wasn’t in class for a couple weeks, or when my credit card expired etc, yet I did not receive a single notification about my membership being reactivated via phone call, email or text, despite not stepping foot into the facility for over a year! Nor did I get a single receipt of payment after my medical suspension expired.
However, that was not the case. As a matter of fact, in my entire life, I have never had an interaction with a business that was so disrespectful and disheartening. I think most people would have had enough sense to at least express even the slightest empathy for what I had experienced and taken some level of responsibility for that fact that they took my money for nearly a year in which I was unable to use the membership I was never notified was reactivated.
Instead, the GM and owner were both quick to point out that distress be damned, I had signed the document, and I therefore should have just been grateful that they were originally willing to refund 2 months of the money they pocketed for a membership I could not use. But because I had the audacity to question the ethics of their business practices that resulted in me being charged nearly $900 without knowing it, they decided I was not even worthy of that.
So while I have only ever used google reviews as a place to thank and lift up businesses that do right by their customers, employees, and the community, I felt the need to share my experience because I’m guessing I’m not the first person who got screwed by Wheat Ridge Spenga, and a ‘buyers beware’ is about all I can do to hope that it doesn’t happen to others.

I was hooked since the first class! All the workers are super friendly. I absolutely loved how much time they take to get to know you and your goals. The class format is fantastic for someone who wants a little bit of everything. I feel like I can give 110% to each section of the class. I cannot wait to continue my fitness journey with SPENGA! The best people and the best workout! Most workouts felt intimidating and from the moment I walked in to Spenga Wheat Ridge, I felt welcomed and excited. Very supportive, friendly staff. The Spenga combination gives a well rounded workout of cardio, strength, and yoga. Spending the final third of the class on stretching/yoga has over time gotten rid of my lower back pain. Also, each station is clean and has all the equipment, so no running out of certain sized dumbbells. The workout varies each time, and the instructors are motivating. Highly recommend!

Admin is wonderful... very easy to talk to and encouraging. The physical environment is excellent... clean, modern and attractive. The bikes are spin bikes...not suited to my needs as an older person. I need to be sitting up straight on a comfortable seat and there was no equipment available to meet that need. I also found a lack of flexibility to select which workouts I preferred, how long I wanted them to last, and what days, times were available. Low rating is due only to these drawbacks.

I took my first Spenga class this morning and was very impressed with the entire process. As a new prospect they took @ thirty minutes prior to class to understand what I was looking for in a gym, what my specific objectives and goals are and gave me an informative overview of their three part workout and how it would help me achieve my objectives. The class was exactly as explained and I found the three distinct parts of the workout thoroughly challenging and enjoyable. Class was led by an excellent instructor. The diversity in the three twenty minute sections of cardio via the bike, strength training through the use of dumbbells and finally a cool down/stretching with light yoga was fantastic. Afterwards, the instructor followed up with me as did the owner to get immediate feedback, which was all positive. Unlike so many of today's "boutique" gyms and studios, I felt that the team at Spenga really are invested in helping me achieve that which I am looking for.

I'll try to keep this short because I could go on for hours about how much I love SPENGA Wheat Ridge. From your first conversation, to the first time you walk in the door, to your first work out, and on... the team are some of the most welcoming, kind, motivating, and helpful people I've met in this industry. The facility is beautiful and SO clean. The workout is great and you'll love the flow. Get your heart pumping on the bike, build some muscle on the weight floor, and then end with some stretches and good flow. I leave on such an amazing high. I spent 3 years going to OTF and 2 going to Row House before discovering SPENGA, and my only regret is not finding it sooner. Best group fitness class I have experienced - friendly staff and coaches who are happy to be there, knowledgeable, kind, and motivating. Workouts feel just right for what I have been looking for - lower impact but hard cardio with spin, challenging strength building on weight floor, and mobility/flexibility/strength through yoga. It was also hard to find a gym that has 5:15 am classes - SPENGA Wheat Ridge does and there’s always a solid early morning showing!

Absolutely love this studio! I started going 8 months ago and haven’t been able to stop! My favorite classes are the ones led by Gabrielle and Eri but all the instructors are awesome! Gabrielle is kind and thoughtful but also tough in the best way. Eri is bubbly and always brings high energy. I’ve always struggled with keeping myself motivated to stick to a consistent workout but it’s so easy with Spenga. I pay for the unlimited pass and attend 3-4 times a week and it’s been worth every penny! The one thing I will say is that I really hope they bring a 7 or 7:30am class back. That time slot just works so much better for my work schedule than 6:15/6:30am or 9am. Otherwise no complaints :)

The perfect workout … a balanced mix of my favorite aerobic challenge (spin class), followed by much-needed strength training that I otherwise seldom to get to anywhere near so well on my own, and finished by the flexible stretch and ‘quiet strength’ of yoga settling into one’s muscle and bone. Doesn’t get any better as a healthy combination!

I’ve been a member for three years, and have gone to class consistently twice a week for three years. I am much stronger physically, have better balance, and feel ready for any cardio undertaking. The community is great and I’m always motivated by the challenge of reaching my personal numbers during spin. I’ve made it part of my weekly routine and feel at home in the studio. They make sure the studio is clean and sanitized daily which is much appreciated but what really keeps me coming back is the sense of community they have built. Everyone there genuinely cares about each other. It’s amazing how big of an impact this little studio has had on me!

I enjoy the fact that I don't have to create my own workout and can focus on me during the session: 20 minutes each of spin, strength, yoga. It's a supportive environment where you can challenge yourself as much as you want without judgment from others.

Spenga is a great workout. It's 20min of Spinning, 20min of Strength Training and 20min of Yoga.
I think this is an ideal workout for those with general fitness goals who have limited time and maybe need some accountability to get to their workouts. At a regular gym, it's really easy to just blow off your workout or to arrive only to find that the machines/weights you want to use are already occupied. At Spenga, you sign up for your classes in advance and pay a penalty if you no-show. And, each person in the class is assigned a bike and has their own "pod" of weights/TRX/BOSU/kettle bells/etc. and yoga mat. You don't have to compete for resources. And, you are in and out in an hour. They even have a few variations available where you just do spinning and yoga or just weight training.
The classes are limited in size and instructor led. And, the instructors are great about coming up with alternatives if you have physical limitations. Gabrielle is my favorite instructor. I have really enjoyed classes with Andy and Bri as well. They even take requests for music they play during your workout.
Spenga is spendier than a gym, but way less expensive than a personal trainer. And they do have personal training options available, if that is what you're into.

For me this place help me on my rebab and now I’m just addicted to goodness feel. I started going there the first week of January 3 months after an ACL reconstruction with very little mobility. Just looking for a community and low impact workout. It’s the best workout I’ve ever done and I don’t feel like I just punished my body with a 60 minutes workout. It took about 2.5 months and I had recovered fully and achieved entire mobility.
Every single one of the instructors are a joy and so helpful. They take time to demo everything and they make sure you have good form. They have the best team, from the owner, GM, the front desk ladies and instructors. Not to mention is like happy hour with great music.
I think this is a wonderful place and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon because I found my grove.

I was NEVER a studio/class girly, I actually hated taking fitness classes! I did a group event with my team from work at SPENGA and was immediately hooked. I literally signed up for an unlimited membership the same day. I adore Eri, Gabrielle, Stephanie, Stacy, and Leigh! I look forward to every class and the welcoming environment everyone expresses! I love that I am pushed to my limits and constantly reminded that I can do anything for a certain time! I love yall! I could not be happier with Spenga Wheatridge. First of all, the studio is completely CLEAN and really modern. I love the layout, it’s very spacious. I took a class here taught by Kela Naso, she was a great instructor!! She had a very fun energy and music which made it easy to be pumped up and ready for the class! She pushed us to do our best and was very motivating. I definitely want to go to more classes taught by Kela and I recommend her as an instructor! I came here during my visit to Colorado last year and I must say, it was a stellar experience from start to finish. The studio is impeccably clean and well maintained. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming.
Gabrielle was the spin instructor she brought a unique energy and passion to the class that was infectious. She's not only knowledgeable about spinning techniques but also genuinely cares about your progress and well-being.
She provided clear instructions and motivation that keep you engaged and pushing your limits throughout the session, not to mention the great music selection!
I am from New York but everyone in the studio from the instructor to the members make you feel like family. Highly recommend if you're in town!
