The Trailhead Crossfit community is among the most inclusive gyms Iβve been a member of in my 10+ years doing crossfit. The workouts are challenging but easily modified to suit most body types. Love trailhead. Classes are always dynamic, changing and challenging. In 6mo I have seen great results. All the coaches are wonderful, and I love all the amazing recommendations from Coach Jack he goes above and beyond to explain and give extra training tips. Heβs helped me work specifically on some recovery and strength building and the improvements have really been impressive in such a short period of time. Grateful for the time and attention this gym gives to form. A real Gem gym.

If you are looking for a gym where there is an amazing communityβ¦. Then check out Trailhead CrossFit. I have been a member here for a little over 9 years and I absolutely love it! The owners are present and always welcoming. The coaches make sure everyone is working to their best ability. They are fantastic at scaling or adjusting workouts as needed for your skill level. Safety and moving correct are stressed at all times. If youβve wanted to stop inβ¦.do it now. I promise you will NOT regret it.

I have owned a CrossFit gym for over 11 years and never been a member because I couldn't find one that felt like home. Trailhead became my new gym home - the classes are awesome, workouts are challenging but scalable for anyone at any level, they work with any injuries or limitations, and the people/coaches are the best in all of the Front Range. The space is amazing, they have every piece of equipment you may need, and even a kid area if you have a little one who will be hanging out while you take a calss. Class schedule has all of the options you could want and need. Owners are amazing - so giving to the community. I am so glad I found this gym!!

I am pleased to be back in Trailhead CrossFit after an absence of 3 years. During the past year I have increased my strength and ability to move greatly and will continue to do so for as long as I can. I especially like the interaction with all the athletes and they are continually helping me as I need assistance. Being retired an over 70 this gym and all the athletes are my daily social event. Iβm happy each day performing the WOD and then strength on Tuesday and Thursday.

I was traveling for work in the Golden, CO and wanted to drop-into a class in the local area. Just by chance I met a fellow Crossfitter at the hotel and he told me about Trailhead CrossFit and that he was doing a drop-in the following morning at 9am. At almost the very last minute I emailed the gym inquiring about a drop-in and the owner, Erica emailed me back almost immediately and got me setup with the registration and waiver which was all online and super user friendly. It was fast too!
When I arrived at the box everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly. I found Coach Lisa to be very professional and well versed in her explanations of the movement standards, the warm-up and of course the Metcon for the day. She was very concise in her explanations and demonstrated a level of knowledge that isnβt often seen in a CrossFit gym. Well done Lisa!
I found the gym to be very clean, they have great equipment, nothing but the best in that gym! As a former Affiliate owner and long time CrossFit athlete I can appreciate all the hard work and effort it takes to make a box like Trailhead CrossFit great and it truly is a great gym! Trailhead rocks! I came from competitive cycling and did some strength training on my own and thought I was fit, but CrossFit has completely transformed my understanding of health and fitness. Two years in and I keep surprising myself with what my body is capable of, Iβm hooked! Justin and Erica are also the nicest people in the world and it really shows in the gym environment and the community they have created. The other members are just as great as the coaches and make the whole experience enjoyable. Although Iβm not a formal member of Trailhead CF I have reaped the benefits of a healthy life change due to the strength workouts provided by Erica (full disclosure, sheβs my daughter). Three months after incorporating strength exercises I was able to stop taking blood pressure medicine, which I had been on for 20+ years! I feel better, move better and am stronger. I try to participate in the strength classes at the gym whenever Iβm in town! I might be a little biased but both Erica and Justin are fully committed to making individuals healthier and stronger! I absolutely love Trailhead CrossFit! The workouts are challenging and effective, and I always leave feeling stronger and more accomplished. But what really sets this gym apart are the coaches. They're incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to give personalized instructions and help improve your form and technique. I've tried other gyms before, but Trailhead is by far my favorite. AMAZING gym. I have been a member since January 2018 and I love this place. The coaches truly know you and you never feel awkward if you have to modify a workout. I've seen other gyms where it seems like everyone else is a CrossFit champion and 5280 is a lovely balance, where you can be a first-timer or someone who has been doing CrossFit for years. The coaches are also so focused on making sure you properly stretch before each workout and they spend half the class going over each movement in detail and making sure your form is correct, which I absolutely love. I have gained so much muscle and I am .5% away from being under 20% body fat thanks to them! I love this gym and if I ever move away, I'll still find a way to show up here!

I found out about 5280 6week challenge through my Facebook feed! As a yoga teacher and athlete I was intrigued by the possibility of transformimg my body.. considering my high level productivity, I was skeptical that I could actually change my body that much.
So I decided to schedule an appointment with Kolbi Ruppert. She answered all my questions and let me know what to expect. I still had my doubts, but those were all squashed with a few exchanges with owner and Crossfit champion Jason Grubb! I accepted the challenge to change my body 6%! At the very beginning, you step on a state-of-the-art and body scanner that measures your body weight, body fat content and your muscle mass.
They linked me to an internet portal, that provided me with many resources. The life-changing diet plan, cookbook and supplemental workouts. I was also a link to a Facebook group that offered lots of support. Taking this very seriously, I ordered a $10 scale off Amazon and I begin food prepping and weighing out my food. Tracking macros as they would call it.
The first two weeks of the challenge, we were placed in separate beginners classes. in these classes, we were getting a very detailed step-by-step breakdown of every exercise that we would do. So after the two weeks, we were released to the regular CrossFit classes, the transition was smooth.
Throughout the whole process, I was very nervous about my ability to accomplish the goal. I was also linked up to a nutrition specialist, Erin Murphy, I was very helpful. I texted her so often, I'm lucky I didn't receive a restraining order! :P but she always answered my questions.
I really enjoyed the workouts! They're always different and fun, and of course extremely challenging. At the 3-week Mark, you have your halfway evaluation. And I was extremely excited to find out that I had already completed 90% of my goal! I feel great! And I can see the changes in my body. Some of my favorite classes were taught by Spence Kemp, but overall every class was fun and unique, I am very impressed with the high level of teaching. If you are on the fence about taking the challenge! Just go for it! It will change your life! And I look forward to continuing my workouts at 5280 CrossFit.

(I was not an early riser before!) β The environment is one of warmth, education, support and growth! The coaches are very encouraging, fun, and thorough in their teaching each class and I never felt at any point in danger or pressured to lift any weight I didnβt think I could. I highly, highly recommend 5280 CrossFit especially if you are new, never done it before, are curious, or had a bad experience at another gym!!

Don't join the challenge at all costs! You will not succeed.
They give you an app to sign up for classes, but I didn't use it. As a student, I really couldn't know which classes would work for me. Jason wasn't even there to tell whether or not I made it. But I made it 3x a week for the first 3 weeks. Up until the 4th week, I attended 3 days a week, followed the meal plan, and at the mid-challenge weigh in, my body-fat didn't change. First day I walked in, I asked Jason about a friend who goes to a cross-fit in the same area, he told me they were the only cross-fit in the area, as the other ones were in Lakewood and Arvada. Turns out that there is a cross-fit literally 1 minute away, on the same street. Then after doing a lot of research, I tried doing intermittent fasting only 2 days before mid-challenge weigh in. Trust me, if you aren't willing to do cardio and workout at least 1-2 hours each day for 6/7 days of the week, you won't get anywhere near your goal. In fact, even with that much work, you may reach half-way to your goal by end of your challenge. Do your research and see how much hard-work professional athletes have to do to lose 6% body fat. 3 days at cross-fit will not get you anywhere, even with the best diet plan.
I have nothing against the staff per say, but I joined the 6 week challenge. Don't join the challenge. At all costs! Unless you have $600 that you don't need and just want to waste that money. From the minute you sign up, you will never receive messages from Jason until you finally go into the gym. Which could get really annoying. I wanted to get in shape, and when I walked in, he told me that 80% of people achieve their goals, when it's actually almost 0%. He is a cool guy, but he only wants the money. Losing 25lbs or 6% body fat in 6 weeks, you better have nothing else to do but go to the gym. They will tell you that they will help you achieve that goal, but with cross-fit only 3 times a week (which is the maximum you can attend per week), you will not get there at all. They give you a so called "meal-plan", which is a two-sided paper with a list of things you can and can't eat, and the "accountability" trainer is actually a staff member who will keep texting you throughout the challenge. The most professional of them all was Deidre, just because she was very understanding. I hurt my foot, and she seemed to be the only one who actually believed that my foot was hurt. On my first visit, I asked if there were any other cross-fits in the area, Jason assured me that the closest one was many miles away. Turns out that there is one right next door. Again, this challenge thing is solely motivated by money. I am 5'6" student at Mines, and you will not be able to successfully complete the challenge unless you are 100% free and go to the gym 7 days a week lifting weights and burning fat. If you have a full time job and think that 3 days a week will get you there, it will not. The $600 will need to be fully deposited before the beginning of the challenge, and trust me, once you give that deposit, you will never get it back.
The staff overall is okay, but the challenge will set you up for failure. Don't do it unless you really don't need the money. If you think someone will hold you accountable and follow up with you personally on a daily bases, you are super wrong. It will be entirely up to you. They just text you to check up on you from time to time, but that's about it. Just join a gym for a fraction of the price and do your thing. I worked super hard, and I worked out so much within the first 4 weeks, and my food was super healthy, but I didn't lose body fat. So, 6% is impossible unless you have nothing else to do but go to the gym. You will have to go to a gym anyways for the 4 days you don't go to cross-fit, so join a gym, and there you can have a personal trainer for like $50/month. Trust me, you will not succeed. I am very athletic, I played soccer for high school and college, and continue to play a couple times per week, which is why I was hooked onto the challenge. You will not succeed.

Excellent, professional, knowledgable, and genuine trio of coaches at 5280. Jason was very upfront, honest, and encouraging throughout my 6 week challenge I successfully completed here with my goal of hitting a 6% net change in body composition (fat loss and/or muscle gain). The challenge itself requires you put down a $600 deposit at the beginning which you get back at the end upon successful completion of your goal being either a 20 lb. weight loss or in my case that 6% net change of body comp depending on your body type and personal goal. Both goals are very achievable over a 6-week period so long that you hold yourself accountable and really put in the effort both in workouts (which is easy because of how fun and motivating the environment is) and at home with your nutrition plan. Based off this fact, the entire program would be "FREE", an opportunity I was happy to jump on because I was confident in my ability to put in the work and meet my goal. It's entirely up to the individual to agree to the terms of the challenge thus the negative reviews you may see on here claiming this place be a "scam" or "dishonest" are unjustified and out of place.
I am very happy with my experience at 5280 during the past 6-weeks and I would recommend this place to others as well both for regular gym use and challenge based programs. Thanks Jason, Erin and Deidre for all of the help, support and great workouts. Crossfit is a whole other level of fitness and can really improve anyone's strength and fitness levels.

I had a good experience here with a "free" 6 week challenge. The coaches were knowledgable and classes are fun. The best part is the other members. Yes, there is a hard sell to try to get you to join the gym but that's to be expected, it is a business after all. Communication is great. If you do a challenge keep in mind that it is not easy and make sure to double check your numbers, but it may change your life for the better, it certainly changed mine!

I followed the easy to do meal plan provided and workout regimen precisely (NO CHEATING!) and way exceeded my goals thanks to the awesome coaches at 5280 Crossfit! Run!! Stay Away! This place runs a 6 week challenge and it's a complete scam. You have to put up $600 for the "free" 6 week challenge. The owner talks you into it with anything he can say. He guarantees you will lose the weight and he just wants positive reviews in return. I saw right through this and did not sign up but i know a couple people that did. Apparently a couple days ago, the owner sat down with them and told them they are a little behind and probably not going to make the weight. He offered a one time offer for them to roll their $600 into a year long membership along with having to pay another almost $3000 for the year. So they take your $600 then con their way into you spending another $3000. My gym membership is only $30 a month thats $360 a year. The two crossfit gyms near me are the same price of $160/month which is under $2000 for the year. This is a very unethical, shady owner and business and i feel bad for the people they scam. I know one of the people they conned doesn't have much money due to health issues.

Truly disappointing first time experience with a CrossFit facility. Blatant bait and switch. If you expect people to pay $100 a week for program access, you should make that clear before they waste their time with you. Asking newbies to pay $600 up front for a βfreeβ program (where you supposedly pay back the money if the participant loses a minimum of 25lbs) is despicable. The normal CrossFit monthly fee for other facilities near you is around $160. How dare you try to trick people into paying almost 4xs the normal fee.

I've worked out at box gyms, and I've worked out with a personal trainer, so when a gal from our running club arranged for our group to do a workout at 5280 CrossFit on a Sunday afternoon, I thought why not - now I can find out what all this CrossFit stuff is about. I enjoyed the group atmosphere and the workout so much, that I signed up a week later. I've been working out at 5280 for over a year and I love all of the varied workouts we do. I truly believe that my IT band problems have disappeared because my core and leg muscles are stronger. All of the coaches have been great! Anything that I can't quite do yet (think, pull-ups, rope climb) they provide a scaled version that will eventually get me there. I like that there is such a diverse group of people from 12 to 65+ and everybody is at a different stage in their fitness level. Don't be intimidated (like I used to be at the mere mention of crossfit) and give it a try!

After driving across the country from New Hampshire about 7 months ago, I distinctly remember walking into a grocery store and saying to myself, "Wow, there are a lot of fit people here!" Always wanting to be in better shape, and finding myself in this beautiful location, I began running...again. Much like the previous countless times I have tried building a running career, I got bored and stopped. I drove past the 5280 Crossfit sign and decided to give it a try, hearing all the good things about it. I met with the owner Jason about what my goals were and how Crossfit could help. After talking some prep courses with Coach Sam, I realized how much there was to learn about movement and was hungry for more. The amazing coaches at 5280 Crossfit(Jason, Sam, Nick, Erin) foster a warm and welcoming environment, they have the knowledge of fitness to know when to push you safely. The sense of community that develops over time is so motivating as we cheer each other on in our milestones of fitness. 5280 Crossfit has helped Golden Colorado feel like home for me, I am proud of my accomplishments and am hungry for MORE!!! 5280 Crossfit has become a community for myself and my husband. I have never wanted to "go work out" before, but I find myself missing the gym and looking forward to my workouts. The coaches, members, as well as the relaxed atmosphere keep me coming back for more. Not to mention the great results I am having with muscle development and the over-all healthy body I am gaining. I have been to many different crossfit boxes over the years and this is one of my favorites. The environment created is one of good coaching and growth in level of athleticism but more than anything it's a family environment. When you're the last you are cheered on by everyone and when you're done first you become the encourager. I have laughed more than I havent and pushed to be stronger and fitter than every before.

The only thing better than the members are the coaches. Everybody pushes each other to do better than yesterday and the coaches take the time to get to know your limits and your strengths. Great Crossfit Box in the Golden/Arvada Area
I've been on the Crossfit kick for over 3 years, I've dropped in at a lot of boxes around the country when I travel for work - 5280 Crossfit is up there with the best of them. Nice, clean, new facilities, everything you need to get your pain on. Owner/Coach Jason Grubb is a great coach, he pays close attention to your form all while pushing you to reach your maximum potential. He understands the importance of form, I've also seen him work well with people new to Crossfit that need to learn the fundamentals and need to scale work outs to be safe, yet still get maximum effort.
I highly recommend you check this place out, easy to get to just off of Hwy 93.

I just started crossfit, and I am so happy that I did. I had been going to the gym for years, but never quite understood if I was doing things correctly, or if I worked out enough. 5280 Crossfit is like having a gym, a motivational coach and a personal trainer all in one. Every time I leave their gym I know that I've accomplished something amazing. In the short time that I've been there, I already notice that my endurance has grown, the pounds have come off, and I am getting stronger. The staff at 5280 Crossfit continuously pushes my potential, but also coaches me through each routine so that I am doing it correctly. Working out with other people who all have a similar goal makes the work out fun, and also pushes you to do your best.
Now that I have experienced the knowledge, the people, and the facility that 5280 Crossift has to offer, the gym is now a distant memory.

This CrossFit "box" just opened and it is great! The facility is amazing and Jason is a coach I can trust. He knows what he is doing and he cares about each and every member. He pushes me to be my best but knows my limitations and designs a workout that helps me discover what I CAN do.....not what I cannot do! If you are looking for a crossfit gym that gives you the absolute most for your money, this is the one. This is one of the nicest, most well outfitted crossfit gyms out there. A brand new build out to go with brand new equipment along with owners with a great attitude and desire to do things the right way make this gym what it is. The Wodify system in place is great, the tall ceilings allow for good rope climbs and the word on the street is there will be showers coming soon. The owners put a lot of time and effort into this gym and are continually upgrading the facilities. One of the owners is a hard charging owner/coach that creates programming that will push you to your max, and then some, while emphasizing the importance of proper movements and fundamentals. I wouldn't consider another location after seeing this one and experiencing it for myself. Do yourself a favor and get in with them now to have a crossfit experience the way it is meant to be.
