I've been a member for around 3 years now. I will try to stick to the facts and not label anything as a positive or negative:

- Not the cleanest gym in the world. It's just okay. I have seen a cleaner come through from time to time, but there always gunk and grime around.
- The bathroom shower is cold water. Bathroom in general doesn't appear to be kept up nice at all times.
- The membership prices has gone up from $75 -> $85 -> $95, but I don't really see anything going on for the increased costs. If there is a reason, it's not transparent.
- Broken equipment either stays broken or takes a long time to get fixed.
- The owners are polite when you see them, and if you ask in an email for something to be fixed. Generally, it will be fixed but when is anyone's guess.
- Old equipment, sometimes there's new equipment but all I've ever seen is a few new treadmills.
- No matter what is said or done, the tailgating issue with high schoolers persists.
- The internet at the gym is not great.
- Sometimes you have to fight for parking when the next door library has something going on. Not really an issue, just a thing.
- You aren't tied to a contract. I like that. Month to month is good.
- Bar code scanner entry.
- There are TVs in the front to help distract you.
- They do have all the equipment you'd expect to find in a gym.
- There are these black yoga mats in the back that are torn to shreds and broken items that have never been replaced once.

I give 2 stars because, for me, interactions with owners has been okay and they general do fix things so that warrants the two stars. Broken and dirty environment really drag it down for me. Also, this place costs a lot for what it is. It's kind of a monopoly on the month-to-month gyms in the area. Some transparency and better communication on the price increases would be great. A deep clean more regularly would help. And, an honest investment in some newer equipment would also be be great.

UPDATE: 10/20/25
Having new owners has been a good thing for this gym. In the short time of just a month they have turned the place around and addressed many broken equipment and cleanliness issues. No detail seems to be too small for them and their efforts should be commended. I think the place is on a positive trend and I think people should consider giving the gym a try or a second chance. I raise my original 2 star review to 4 star. The only bit keeping it from 5 star is the $95 monthly membership price is still a lot for what the gym is, but I take some small amount of comfort knowing that the money is going to a local family operating the business and not some mega corp.

Great gym. Not overcrowded at all. Easy sign up process with no pushy sales people. Awesome heavy room. Loads of machines to use too.

I really enjoyed this gym over the 3-4 years I was a member. The owners are very friendly and responsive. I could always find weights or equipment to use regardless of time of day. They did curb the high school kids access to members only, thank you.

I’ve been going to this gym for about 5 years. I used to enjoy working out here, but now I often dread coming. There are groups of high schoolers always taking up equipment. I used to be able to find times when it was less busy, but now it is full of people. I know these things are outside of the owners’ control- just something to be aware of. The equipment is not well-kept (broken machines and equipment out of place).

Update: the owners have since purchased new equipment but it’s often not what’s needed and is cheaply made.

Some of the most down to earth people come here. No trash what so ever. New equipment in the process which I'm stoked for. Fair pricing. The owners are pretty cool people very understanding as well. I love being able to lift heavy weight without people yelling at me. I love how aware and friendly people are to New people as well. Overall 5 star experience everyday. I gave the Gym Reaper Taco bell and I have a brother for life and a person tell cool stories and relate with!

Equipment not maintained. Cables on main cable machine have been broke for a month now. Don’t replace cable handles. Have had multiple issues with a person cussing at me and threatening me and other people, notified the owners and nothing changed. A lot of good people there have all noticed the same issues. Gym was great up until recently. Sadly will be leaving soon.

I called and left a message with the owner about memberships and requested a call back. I received a text back instead of a call. I responded to the text again requesting a call. They never called me. I guess customer service and social skills aren’t to high on this gym list.

Open, flowing floor plan. Some of the nicest staff and patrons I've met.
Pro's:
- A lot of activities and things to do from weight lifting to swimming to racquetball

Con's:
- The weight room needs more weights at heavier amounts.
- The weight room doesn't have a decline bench press set up so you have to drag over the decline sit up bench and do geometry to properly align the bench with the bar

it's a nice gym plagued by broken machines and benches. maintenance seems to be little priority. almost fell off a incline bench with 45lbs dumbells over head because bolts are missing and the back shifted to one side

I have been a member of Tri-lakes fitness for about 5 years. Recently, the ownership has changed. New equipment has been brought in, but the overall condition of the club has dropped significantly. I'm referring to maintenance and cleanliness. It used to be cleaned daily, but now, I doubt if it is cleaned weekly. It is very dirty! Basic maintenance like replacement of torn arm rests and padded handles of machines just is ignored. Even replacing lightbulbs in the bathroom is ignored. I'm extremely displeased with this current trend and will certainly consider canceling my membership if I do not see improvements soon!!
