My experience at the USKA has been amazing. The instructors are incredibly patient and skilled, teaching not just self-defense but also discipline, respect, and confidence—values that go far beyond the dojo. The environment is welcoming and supportive, making it a great place for kids and teens to grow physically and mentally. If you’re looking for a place where you and/or your child can learn values like focus, perseverance, and leadership, (while having fun!), this is the perfect dojo.

After a couple years of watching my boys grow in the dojo, I’ve joined myself. Sensei does an amazing job of nurturing young minds and bodies. She holds them accountable but exhibits so much patience. We have been so, so lucky to be here. The he discipline and practice has been integral to their development and we will just keep coming back.

Love this kickboxing class! The workouts are fun, challenging , and always leave me feeling strong, and energized. Jenny is fantastic! She’s super motivating, knowledgeable, and always makes sure everyone is getting the most out of their workout. This is a great class for beginners or for people with experience. It’s a great mix of cardio and strength. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to workout in a positive, supportive environment.

I genuinely love this location and Sensei Jenny does a great job, especially with small children. I've escorted a number of children as a caretaker to the Knee-High Samurai classes over the years and seen children grow in behavioral discipline and physical capability. However class sizes and personalities can vary from week to week. This is not something that she can control, but I would love to see more parent or supplementary instructor/older student/support for the weeks that are busy so she can give more attention to the students struggling without losing the rest of the class. I would also love to see opportunities for beginning children in particular to learn the motions and moves separate from the more practiced classes so they can better understand the physical components of karate.

We LOVE Sensei Jennie! She’s incredible with kids of all ages, and has worked with three of mine through the years—the perfect combination of care and firmness when it comes to coaching. I was just thinking the other day about how well she works with my most “spirited” child, and keeps him motivated and interested in karate (and self-discipline). Absolutely recommend her and the Broadmoor dojo location!

Great dojo for the whole family!
Sensei is great with kids - patient and kind, but persistent and firm when needed.

We've had our kids in the Knee High Samurai classes (kids can start as young as 4), and now the whole family can train together in the combined Junior/Adult classes.

As adults, the classes are consistently well planned, prepared and executed, everyone is challenged at their level and I feel we're all able to progress.

The community is great and new members are welcomed and encouraged to attend seminars, potluck and tournaments.

My son has been here a year. He loves sensei and all of the kids seem to enjoy her classes and respect her. My son is learning discipline while doing an activity he loves. His confidence is growing and he is being challenged to be a better person.

I have two kiddos who have been coming for almost two years. We love this program!!!! Sensei is absolutely wonderful also. She teaches the kids self respect and the importance of listening and respecting others. Anyone who is thinking about signing up definitely should not hesitate. It is all worth it!!!

We've been going here for years. All three of my girls love it! My youngest did the knee-high program, and all three did the youth program. Such a fantastic opportunity to improve their focus and stamina, we saw a vast improvement in their performance at school because of what they learned in karate. Sensei Jennie is the perfect balance of knowledge, patience, and accountability for her students. She is able to connect with them as individuals and find what motivates them to do their best in class and in life. Her kick boxing classes are the highlight of my week! My oldest daughter and I are able to bond over our mutual distaste for cardio and enjoyment of the heavy bag exercises. Highly recommend for adults and children of all ages.

Jennie has been my son’s instructor for over two years now. She’s patient, compassionate, loving, and driven to help her students. I am always amazed how she can get her youngest students (4 plus) to focus and be disciplined in class. My son has come a long way and I am so proud of his progress with the help of sensei Jennie. We've been at the USKA for over a decade. In that time, our son has excelled in the martial arts. Further, the skills, training, and attitudes cultivated by the United States Karate Academy transfer well to all aspects of life. My son is successful in many things, and part of his success is certainly due to his experiences at the USKA. The martial arts training is top-tier, and features contact sparring, which is an essential element for any martial arts/self defense program. The instructors are highly qualified and motivated to help students succeed and progress. The USKA also boasts several female instructors, which is a premium in the world of martial arts. The style of karate offered is Goju-Ryu, which is composed of diverse elements that allow students of all types to be successful and formidable.

I absolutely love going to this Dojo. The sensei is super friendly and understanding. I have been going for a little over a year and a half and have enjoyed every minute of it. I feel like it is a great way to get exercise and learn some self defense. ☺️

Sensei Jennie is amazing. I grew up in martial arts and later boxing, where I was trained by a multiple time world champion.

I have an autistic son who finished ABA, and I wanted to put him into a sport that he could learn about confidence and discipline. Again I am no stranger to the discipline of combat and the multiple ways it is taught, so I searched around. There are far too many places that in my opinion teach children how not to be.

Sensei Jennie is everything you could ever want for your child. She is patient, understanding, tough, fair, and a role model for everyone. Beyond martial arts, she takes the time to instill the proper values, such as dedication and respect. Most importantly, she teaches the ultimate fact in life, if you didn’t earn it, it’s worthless.

If you want your child to learn how to be a better person, look no further.

Good place, excellent and patient instruction. Only critique is very little online showing schedule and sign up procedures. But it is a legitimate licensed facility of good martial arts instruction and fair pricing.
