Urban Sanctuary is a wholesome gem in the heart of Denver. They offer so many different classes but my favorite is their summertime series of morning outdoor yoga! It's such a treat to start the day outside, on your mat. Couldn't recommend them enough!

I've only been to Urban Sanctuary a few times, but it is truly such a magical place to practice. The studio itself is so comforting, inviting, and warm (energy-wise). I took the Soul Vibrations Moon class last night with Royal, and it was exactly what I needed. Royals voice, cues, adjustments, and sound bath savasana were lovely *chefs kiss*. I look forward to my next class there and my next class led by Royal!

Beautiful space, loved all the plants!! Stopped in because I was in town from Chicago for a concert, and looking for something to do on a gloomy Friday. I'm so glad I did!! Took Linda's 60s dance movement class and it was so much fun! Linda's instruction made it easy to follow, got our hearts pumping to some fantastic music! Thank you for having me and making me feel so welcome! I will be back next time I am in Denver!

A place where your soul feels at home. You walk in the door and can let go and truly breathe. You are seen in your entirety, and cherished for your authenticity. Truly a sanctuary in the heart of Denver. BIPOC necessity!

Urban Sanctuary is incredible! Not only is the space beautiful and clean, but the people are so personable, inviting, and kind. I am so honored to be able to participate in a safe environment to practice yoga with fellow queer people at Rainbow flow on Wednesdays. Royal is an incredible yoga instructor and healer. I always leave feeling better and more prepared for life. Thank you Royal and Urban Sanctuary!

I love being a member of this studio and have been going for years! I recommend it to everyone. They have a variety of yoga classes, many holistic workshops, and aerial yoga. They also have a great backyard patio, perfect for classes in spring through fall. As a Japanese-American, I moved to Denver from the D.C. area where it's more culturally diverse and racially inclusive than Denver. Even after being here for 6 years, it's still unsettling and can be uncomfortable being the only non-white person at a yoga studio. I'm very grateful for community spaces like this.

I’ve been coming to US periodically for a few years now and, as all the other reviews illustrate, they are the best. Before moving to CO in 2020, I didn’t see myself fitting into the “traditional” yoga studios, or in with the typical attendees and instructors, and thus had never given yoga a real try. This space, the instructors, and the authentic, genuine and approachable feeling of spirituality & connectedness across US’s classes really sets it apart for me. I’m moving out of state soon and hope I can find a new studio even half as amazing.

by far my favorite 'third space' to be. the classes are all amazing, the instructors are so friendly, the community is so caring, and the space is relaxing. i've been going here for year now - i got in an accident recently and the studio has been so supportive & caring, from checking in on me - to giving me the space & support i need in this time. 5 stars isn't enough! ✨

I am so grateful for this safe space to experience collective breathwork and movement! This environment welcomes all walks of life and all teachers are the most compassionate and warm. This studio and everyone apart of it is pure pure magic and I hope everyone can experience the warmth this studio and team has to offer. SO much release is flown through me every session, through tears and smiles and laughter and goosebumps. I’ve brought so many of my lovely friends to this studio to share the magic and it’s beautiful to experience such magic with them! Words don’t do justice in sharing the experience this home provides, I hope you and your friends experience it for yourself!

Loved the slow, energetic flow of Kemetic yoga. Amazing vibes and deep knowledge shared I learned so much.
I’ve been honored to be a part of the commUNITY at urban sanctuary. It truly feels like a sanctuary in my body facilitated by some of the best teachers in the metro area.
Progressive, inclusive, diverse in offerings, authentic source and space created and facilitated to tap into a practice.
The workshops!! Cosmic dance!! R&B flow… the list goes on.
I’ve learned so much about EFT tapping for emotional release at this studio and have received healing properties from connecting in practice with myself, fellow students and teachers. Whether it’s tapping or tarot or astrology, the vibe is ON POINT and this is my forever yoga home (even at times when I can’t attend as frequently as I would like… all in good time…)

I was looking for a new experience in a yoga studio and Urban Sanctuary delivered. I took a yoga class lead by Kryss and it was such a nourishing and healing class! He integrated Internal Family Systems which I have never experienced before but I absolutely needed at the time. I left feeling so grounded and nourished. I really think they're onto something here. I've taken a myriad of yoga classes around Denver but there hasn't been an experience this valuable. The space itself is such a grounded and calm place with plants all around. There is free parking around the building and easy to find which I really appreciated. The atmosphere is inclusive for people from all walks of life. I look forward to taking more classes here!

Urban Sanctuary is a diamond in the rough. This yoga studio elevates BIPOC voices and perspectives and creates access for all. My favorite space in Denver to practice yoga, by far.
I have taken perhaps 50 classes here over the last couple of years with a variety of different teachers; James S, Soraya, Soly, Katie T, Shanté, Ali. Everyone brings their own unique style, presence and skills to the classes they teach. My favorite thing about the studio is that there is NO ego and you don’t feel like you’re at a commercial space being compared to others like CorePower or other gyms in the area. It’s about mind and movement. I true gem in the city.

I can’t say enough positive things about this place. It’s more than a yoga and healing studio—-it’s transformative in the workshops and events that are offered and a pillar of the community. Hats off to owner Ali Duncan who has managed to create a safe space in the middle of an urban setting. Tarot & Flow with Ali Duncan, Soul Flow R & B Vibes with Steph Lindsey, Flower Power with Aysia Nealey, Sun Vinyasa Flow with Angela Evans and any sound bath/Kakaw ceremony with Christina Ifurung—-can’t recommend enough!

It really hurts me to be leaving a 1 star review for this studio as it really was a great place to me over the last year but lately the professionalism and quality of services has drastically gone down and I'd like others to be aware of some of these things when looking for their new wellness home.
When they switched to using Arketa as their app there were a lot of struggles and the ease of signing up for classes, etc. became much more cumbersome and difficult. There were a few instances where I received an email about a class not being held or cancelled and an apology because it was not reflected on the Arketa app. They have also changed instructors quite a bit lately and not all of them are as amazing as when I first signed up.
The cancellation policy and fees associated (5 hours before class or you are changed a late cancellation fee), while I completely understand it and don't believe this is a fault of the studio at all, is just very challenging for me as I work in a hospital and there are some days where I am unable to leave work due to an emergency or crisis, so my form of self-care ends up being more stressful and lacks flexibility.
Lastly, the transparency with the membership and cancellation policies surrounding this were very minimized in my opinion. When switching over to the Arketa app, it was a challenge to continue my membership as my billing didn't transfer over, and now when I went to cancel my membership I was informed of a 30 day notice required and was charged for another month of my membership prior to cancellation. I simply asked for a copy of my membership agreement that I signed so I could see where I missed that/pay attention in the future (note: I did not ask for this to be waived at all, I simply wanted to understand), and was met with a pretty blunt response and told that the charges and fees had been emailed "in newsletters that I am subscribed to," but that there is no membership contract. I think the communication and professionalism of the studio could be dramatically improved in this, as I have been a very loyal member for at least a year now and only cancelled because I am leaving the country for a family emergency/lack of flexibility in the membership.
I used to recommend this studio to everyone and anyone I talked to, but lately there are definitely better options out there in the metro area and I recommend you search around and due your due diligence before becoming a member with Urban Sanctuary.

Genuinely, this is one of the best yoga studios I’ve ever been to.
As a flight attendant, I’ve traveled to many different cities and have tried many studios. Many of them have felt very sterile, and even if the people have been pleasant, I didn’t really have a sense of belonging.
As a curvier woman of color, this is the only studio I’ve ever felt comfortable in. The studio itself is very welcoming, with some plants here and there, a brick backdrop, some art and what smells like palo santo. I always have an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquility upon entering.
Due to COVID and my job, I changed bases to Miami for just over a year. I searched for months to find the “perfect” studio, and was just disappointed time and time again. Eventually, I stopped trying and just subscribed to Glo to practice at home. However, as luck would have it, I was presented with an opportunity to move back to Denver. Picking my yoga practice back up at a studio I loved has been a highlight of my move back.
I can’t recommend this studio enough!

The classes were amazing but the customer service was poor. The studio implemented a policy for missed or canceled classes and did not provide me with the policy. I emailed several times requesting information with no response. After my 5th class at the studio, I learned there is a check-in procedure. They keep charging my credit card and won't provide me an invoice for missed /canceled classes or the policy. When I spoke to the owner she was dismissive. This studio has probably the most unique class offerings and opportunities of any studio I have encountered. I found the "Skins New Moon Naked Yoga" (women-only) class event by chance while looking for things to do with a friend coming to visit me in Denver. A large group of friends here (both close and still developing) ended up joining. We could not have been happier with the experience! We all left saying we want to come back again as soon as possible. I believe it was $30 per person, and the class is offered once (maybe twice) each month.
The studio space itself is rather unique and pleasant/comforting. The class started with the option of free tea and intro meditation as the instructor talked us through how clothes are typically shed throughout the hour class and she will indicate particular points that might be good moments to shed a layer if we want as she does it herself, but that we are entirely free to go at our own pace and timing and to whatever extent feels best. We all individually became more comfortable with our idea of this as the class progressed together in a very natural and genuine sense of holistic acceptance. I left the class absolutely delighted and without a single suggestion of how it could have been better (a similar consensus among my entire group). A year later, my visiting friend and I remember that as probably the most worthwhile experience we chose to fill that trip with, and it is still one of the most enjoyable and noteworthy memories from college thus far to recall among those friends.
So refreshing! Couldn't recommend the class or the studio as a whole more! I am so appreciative of that space and the women that created/own it.

I work full-time remote, but get out of the house on Saturdays to go to my office across town in Centennial. I wanted to find a yoga studio I could go to in Denver on my way back to Thornton. (We lack places to do yoga or anything in Thornton). I found this studio on my map, and am so happy I decided to try it out. I can't say enough good things about Urban Sanctuary. Their classes gave me exactly what I needed throughout the pandemic, to have something to look forward to every week. Their classes are well-timed, even with a busy work schedule, and their virtual options make it so easy to participate. Their physical space is also beautiful and immediately feels healing.
My favorite thing about US is their commitment to equity, which includes discussing where some of their yoga practices come from and honoring that. So many yoga studios are disconnected with yoga's origin, something I think US is doing and improving all the time.

My cousin and I dropped in on this gem while visiting Denver for a few days. We immediately felt very welcomed! The class and instructor were so sweet and knowledgeable. I wish there was a merch store, I definitely would’ve purchased something to take back with me!

Urban Sanctuary is my sanctuary. It is a safe, brave space for me, and so many others, to simply let go and see what comes to the surface. Ali and her team have been life-giving during a difficult, pandemic year. I look forward to hopping on the mat with them to focus on connection, breath work and unity for many years to come.

Urban Sanctuary is true to its name and values. It is a beautiful, creative space filled with love and openness. I have been attending classes for nearly 2 years and value wholeheartedly the grounding I experience each week in class. My favorite is Tarot Yoga with Ali ❤️

Too bad this business is trying to build itself by stepping on the backs of others, rather than good old fashioned hard work. Definitely not a safe place with that sort of attitude.

A beautiful, sacred place. Such a gem to find a Denver. A great studio to support if you want to support a woman/black-owned yoga studio and the BIPOC community.

This space is gorgeous and serene! A true Urban Sanctuary. The community is very special and each instructor seems to offer something unique that they have integrated into their practice. Ali offers a great rate for practitioners to rent space and the rooms are beautiful!

I took the copacetic flow class with Ali and I walked out of class feeling like I just got a deep tissue massage. The class was very relaxing and we reached into super deep stretching that eased away so much tension. My favorite class I've taken in Denver so far!

Yoga under the stars with Jalisa was good for the soul and a good time. This historic space has great energy, and it looks like a wide variety of wellness offerings. I would 100% go back for meditation/self massage/yoga on the porch outdoors. Just what is needed after a long day.
