This locations is mainly overcrowded. (It seems as if a location serving the Montbello/Green Valley Ranch area is needed) also I understand people wanting to come and socialize. But geez. It’s not a club. It is a place where people come to exercise.

Review: Exceptional Staff and Studio Classes, with Areas for Corporate Investment

I have been a dedicated member of Vasa Fitness for about a year now, and I can confidently say I love this gym! The staff, including the trainers, coaches, and instructors, are uniformly fantastic and provide a truly motivating atmosphere. This is definitely a five-star experience, though I have some constructive feedback that I hope corporate leadership will consider.

Studio Classes: My Motivation (A++)

The studio classes are the main reason I stay active. At $44 a month, the value is incredible—all I have to do is show up, and I get a consistent, high-quality workout (unlike when I try to work out on my own!). I appreciate the effort Vasa puts into coordinating classes so I can flow from intense sessions like Studio Red or Studio Lift right into Deep Stretch, which I do almost six days a week.

Studio Red: This class is outstanding. The coaches are all phenomenal, and the exercises are challenging yet appropriately adaptable for all ability levels, from beginner to advanced. I have no suggestions for improvement here.

Studio Flow (Deep Stretch, Flow, Restore): These classes are highly dependent on the individual instructor's style. I recommend trying out classes with a few different instructors to find the one you like best—they all bring great knowledge, but the experience varies greatly.

Studio Lift: Great Potential, Needs Program Review

The Studio Lift coaches are also fantastic, but the program itself limits their effectiveness, which is where my main feedback lies.

Partnering: The main lift (e.g., deadlifts, bench press) often involves two people per rack, with one spotting. I wish there was more training focused on partnering for max effort, rather than just safety catching. Training partners on how to assist with those last few reps once someone hits failure would significantly improve the lifting experience.

Accessory Lifts: The accessory lifts often feel too similar to the high-intensity format of Studio Red, rather than true heavy lifting. I would love to see accessory sessions incorporate more focus on antagonistic muscle groups (like chest and back) or include techniques like negative reps to truly maximize muscle group exhaustion and growth.

Finishers: The best finishers are always when the coaches go off-script. Allowing the instructors more autonomy to determine the finisher based on the class’s energy and needs would make this segment more effective.

Personal Training and Facility Investment (Jaz is a 10/10)

If you can afford personal training, I highly recommend it. Though I can only budget for one session a week, it’s worth it entirely due to my trainer, Jaz.

Trainer Excellence: Jaz is a truly fantastic trainer. His knowledge of body mechanics is top-notch, and he knows how to get the most out of every workout. When my sciatic nerve flared up, he immediately changed my routine to focus on mobility and incorporated assisted stretching, which has been a massive help. If you want an extremely knowledgeable, dedicated trainer, I can’t recommend Jaz enough.

Corporate Investment Needed: My one request for Vasa corporate is to invest more in the personal training "cage" area. Given the cost of personal training, this area feels like an afterthought with hand-me-down equipment. I would feel better about the investment if this space were better built out and provided premium equipment not available to the rest of the gym floor. Equipping the cage racks with more capabilities (similar to a fully decked-out Ares 2 Rep Rack) would elevate the personal training offering and ensure trainers have dedicated, state-of-the-art equipment without having to fight for general floor equipment.

In summary, the staff and the energy at Vasa are incredible, making it a 5-star gym. Addressing the Studio Lift programming and investing in the Personal Training area would make the entire Vasa experience unbeatable.

Majority of treadmills and stair masters have been broken for some time, quite the smallish gym so be wary going during busy hours. I used to take about 2ish hours for a good workout however that time has increased due to capacity.
You'll see the typical teenagers hogging one machine. Loved this gym a few months ago but it has gotten packed since then.

It's good but there are many inconsiderate people here (people purposely being jerks when you're waiting). Weights are often left not reracked and they don't seem to manage where ppl are (ppl doing weight training on sled area - which is why it's torn up/ unsanctioned group classes in the morning). Often the wrong weights are in the barbell area

Overall, decent facility and staff but the ppl kinda suck

I left my swim headphones charging for about two minutes in the women’s changing area, and when I returned, they had been stolen. Staff 5/5. Gym 2/5.
11/2/25 3 month update:
The gym is still pathetically maintaining the equipment and lacking repairs. I know this isn't the staffs fault so at this point Vasa needs to address these problems. This is now the worst maintained gym I've experienced in the last 6 years. You are charging us yearly fees for keeping the gym up to order so where is the oversight? At least 6-10 cardio machines are broken at a given time and we are continuously losing other weight machines due to absolute lack of repairs. Not that you seem to care but I would assume we need to contact corporate for assistance? Or perhaps they have a problem with our location as well. 1/5 stars now for the utter lack of care for patron safety and desire for a decent gym.

I would like to point out that 3 months later we are still having the same issues. In 3 months since my last review we still only have one functional leg extension machine and half of the cardio equipment is in the state of disrepair. The men's restroom consistently has plumbing issues and is oftentimes not stocked with hand soap. So again I ask the higher-ups at VASA, what are you doing to help the situation? Why do all the other locations in better socioeconomic neighborhoods here in Colorado receive better maintenance and upkeep than ours? Are you choosing not to fulfill requests for maintenance submitted by your employees or are you choosing to neglect this particular location?

If there was some level of understanding to why this location is treated in the manner described then perhaps my review would not be so harsh. Simply put, I'm only reporting what I see here.

I have been a member with Vasa gyms for about 6 years in Colorado. I remember when this location first opened it would have definitely earned a five-star rating. Now, however, due to new and chronic issues I would have to give two stars.
I'll begin right off by acknowledging that this is no local employee's fault. There continues to be a variety of broken weight and cardio machines that lay untouched for months. We need corporate to explain to us why this location suffers from disrepair while the others are so well maintained that it becomes clear there is a difference in how each location is operated (or financed). As someone who visits multiple locations in Colorado, it seems that the Colfax branch is lacking oversight from corporate or they simply don't care based off of our socioeconomic location. I must acknowledge that the location may have patrons that contribute to broken machines but why are they left useless when other CO Vasas have such fast and consistent repairs. Are we being punished as a community or are our complaints and your employee's requests falling upon deaf ears? Do we need to follow a specific chain of command to get the attention other locations have?
With at least 4 weight machines and over half of the treadmills being broken for weeks/months over the past year this gym gets a 2/5.

TL;DR The gym has major upkeep issues at this specific location. The employees are not at fault, corporate seems to be uninvolved. There are significant structural issues to the building that need to be addressed with property management and not towards the unknowing desk clerks. This location needs help, what will you do?

Very small gym compared to what I’m used too. Staff is cool. It’s cleaner than 24. It’s not 5 stars because it’s crowded and small so have to wait on equipment. To be far my home gym in CA is also crowded but twice the the size of V but it’s close to work so meh.

The gym gas got some decent equipment since my last visit but I was extremely irritated because multiple cardio machines were down. I understand 1, 2 or even 3 machines but this was madness. The gym is more than just a place to lift. It’s where we reset, clear our minds, and show up for ourselves. However, vasa on East colfax makes you question the destination!!!
In my 3 years of coming, this particular facility continues to go downhill.
Equipment is constantly broken and take months to fix if that or instead simply taken out and never replace them. Let's not talk about upgrading🤦‍♂️ (this includes the TV's, be it the giant one [now we just stare at??] or the one's in the cardio area!)
Another major deterioration is the cleanliness and the culture that it has embodied in every nook of the gym. Be it the locker room smell and its living creatures along with those locks that hold lockers overnight! Or the lack of cleaning wipes with their corresponding trash cans!! Wish there was more signage plus a staff announcing over the PA ('remember to wipe, rerack, and put away all resources used!!)
I will say that having Leo and Marquise as the opening crew in the morning has been huge, especially seeing how many people have come and gone in the past 3 years! I appreciate the service they provide and hope they are valued... as for this location, change must come soon!

Overall this is the worst I have ever seen this gym and I have been coming here for years since it was built in late 2019.

Machines are constantly broken and never being fixed, just simply take the machines out of the floor and never replace them. (For example, the chest fly machine(s) have been broken for months and no replacement and that’s just one of many.) The giant TV which use to play ESPN which was awesome has been taken out, the music speakers have been taken out, and water stations are constantly broken or leaking.

Also, cleanliness has went down tremendously after pandemic cleaning standards went away. The wet area constantly has a smell to it when it isn’t broken and it’s not uncommon to see cockroaches running around either.

Now I’m starting to justify taking the drive to other gyms and will probably cancel membership here soon. This gym is really only surviving because there isn’t any competition in this area. So if anyone is reading this and interested in starting a commercial gym in the north Colfax/ GVR area, you have a customer right here.

Update: still an ongoing issue of equipment not working. Especially hydrabeds.

Update: staff is more respinsive than they were, but equipment still in frequesnt need of repair, especially the massage beds. Today 4 of 6 not working.

Update: Not only do the beds frequently need repair, but the staff is unattentive and no help.

Update: Unfortunately, my overall opinion has dropped from a 4 to a 3. The massage beds for rehab were a big plus for me, but this location seems to have trouble keeping them working properly. Low water and irregular pressure seem to be more and more frequent. I no longer look forward to this feature because it will likely be a disappointment.

Clean facility, variety of equipment & classes, rehab options... only downside is it can become really crowded early evening and closes early on Sat & Sun. Overall - great gym.

Listen, I know this place is kinda ghetto. It has an issue with frequently broken and outdated equipment. The bathrooms are always clean and the overall environment is clean, though. I am willing to update my review as this place makes the changes its customers are asking for. I did want to give a special shout out to Marquise and Leo, who are always working the really early morning shift, for being so approachable and genuinely nice. They've made it so much easier for me to wake up and get to the gym before work. I really hope these 2 are being compensated appropriately- like with a shift differential, or a raise, to make up for working during abnormal waking hours. They truly deserve it. They are absolute gems, and they make this place feel like a second home that I know I'll always welcomed warmly at. Marquise knows every face that comes in here, is continuously advocating for positive changes to made, is constantly trying his best to fix the broken down equipment with the limited resources he has, and he listens to the customers. He's a GM in the making and I hope this company recognizes that.

I've been coming to this location 5 mornings a week for 4 months now and I don't see myself changing that anytime soon.

The trainers and staff have been extremely helpful and welcoming, willing to work with any level of experience!

My main shoutout HAS to go to the early morning crew, specifically Marquise and Leo! They are quite literally my favorite part of coming to VASA. They've been attentive, present, and engaging to the point we can have conversations that span across each day and avoid the "stranger small talk". Their energy and personalities give me more motivation each morning than my coffee. I highly recommend coming in the morning and saying hi, you won't regret it!

Update: Sept 21, 2025. Well, im still here, and the reason was the hot tub and the pool. Now I'm not sure about either one anymore. The pool had been murky for some reason and the hot tub seems to have issues as well always breaking down so it's never hot. It seems no one here really cares except to get people to sign up and get paid. The locker rooms are still the same, along with the bathroom area is disgustingwith people breaking things and the toilets got shit everywhere and no one really tries to clean it up at all, the ants haven't seen any lately but the showers still have hair all over and some kind of blood on the wall and floor still so I don't use the showers here, instead I shower before and after at home. I only go for the hot tub. Steam room, sauna, and massage chairs now. Since they got rid of the movie theater where you can watch a flick and workout I don't care to much for the rest of the gym.

I'm trying to give this place a chance, but it seems this company only cares about profit, not its members. They are a big disappointment. They don't really have anyone cleaning the place at all during business hours, and if they do, it's only doing trash. I wouldn't recommend this place at all except if you're looking to use what I wrote above. Also, it is weary that some of the members don't use swimming gear and the staff don't care when you complain. I've complained about people getting in with their underwear, gym shorts, and sweat pants. I'm still here but not much longer. I'm definitely looking into other gyms to go too. It's be careful using the locker room seats, showers and toilets very disgusting and unsanitary if you ask me. Not sure where people getting this gym is clean, must be employees, friends, people who don't care or just nlind. Just FYI it really shows how much Vasa cares about it's members. Never got a reply or any kind or response from them ever. Not even a response to my emails.

So my workout was ruined. Also, so many equipment are broken and are not being fixed. The club is dirty. The girls' bathroom is gross. The Trainer, Bethann, took the other individual's side instead of trying to come up with a solution. She had nothing but an attitude with me. The gym is always dirty and unsanitary. There’s never a cleaning crew, and the staff don’t do anything—they just stand around at the front desk. I’ve been to the gym at different times throughout the day, and it’s always the same: unclean and poorly maintained and a lot of broken equipment.

I have been going to this gym for a few years. It has been a good gym for me, but I can no longer go there due to the mold. As some reviewers mentioned, there was a major leak last fall that went about a full week before repair. Whatever cleaning was done was not sufficient to remediate the mold. I react within minutes of entering the building (I have tried on 5 separate occasions to go back, same thing every time.) It also still smells weird in there. If you are sensitive or allergic to mold, definitely consider a different location…

YALL ARE A DISGRACE

CHARGING AFTER I CANCELLED.

The first time I cancelled in person was February 2025 . Then I called in March and they said it didn’t go through. Then I called in April and they say they charged the last month which is April. And NOW ITS MAY AND I AM STILL BEING CHARGED.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM

BEWARE !!!!

IT IS MAY 2025. Because of this after I finish grad school guess where I’m going ? Not to VASA. And I’ll make sure to tell everyone I come across

*** If Vasa makes this right and refunds me I will make sure to update this review. If it has not been updated they have still not done anything and $30 is worth more to them than their gym members. Oh and I haven’t been able to use the app - so why are _____ are yall charging me when it tells me to reactivate ??!!

I’ve been to several VASAs over the years and this one is probably the worst. I can only speak to the weightlifting section. I don’t think the staff tidies the plates at the end of the day. The plates are always in random locations so you have to wander around the whole gym to finish your workout. Also the guests frequently don’t re-rack the weights. If you ever see an abandoned barbell with weights still on it, just take it, i guess. I’ve never had this problem at other locations and it’s really frustrating.

Two Starz for this location is generous. Very Dirty unkept building, Extremely rude and unprofessional staff especially in kid care, some of the people that work in the kidcare center will literally make you want to grab your kid and turn the other direction. This location tarnishes the Vasa name and clean kept reputation. Showers are falling apart theres mold in some of them the hot tub doesn't seem well maintenanced along with most of the main areas, trash everywhere and don't even ask about the locker rooms. front desk staff are unhelpful and seem like they don't enjoy working there. For the fees and membership pricing they could at least attempt good customer service especially if they're not going to care about maintaining the building properly. The only thing that gives this location two Stars is the Vasa fitness name in general which has a better reputation in other areas. Stay away from this one. Vasa please do better and advice the staff at this location of their duties and responsibilities as well as privacy policy alongsids knowing basic mannerism. I recommend they all find different jobs there are plenty of people that looking for work and will give better service. This is only my second day as a studio member and I'm almost ready to cancel my membership if it weren't for the from night to day experience at other locations.

I want to give a huge shoutout to the incredible trainers at VASA Fitness Colfax — Elijah, Natalie, Des, Sabrina, Tina, Michelle Tracy, Morgan, Chelsea, Saad, and many others! I rave about this gym all the time, and for good reason. The staff here is top-notch, and the membership is super affordable, especially if you’re looking for a structured yet flexible workout routine.

If you’re like me and want a solid plan without overthinking it, the Studio LFT classes 3 days a week are perfect for strength training. Add in Studio Red for your cardio days and finish your week with a relaxing deep stretch or flow session — it’s the best balance. Every trainer I’ve worked with has been knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help modify exercises when needed. You really feel like they care about your progress.

The community here is also amazing — welcoming, motivating, and fun!

Also, a special shoutout to the front desk team: Monica, Nancy, and the awesome woman with the partially shaved head (still learning names!). They’re always so friendly and make walking into the gym feel like stepping into a second home. Thank you all for making fitness something I genuinely look forward to!

Ok gym, gets very full so expect to wait. Lots of equipment but again just as many people. Staff is not usually busy but wipes are consistently empty. I pay every month and work during the afternoon so after work around 9:30pm i have time to go. As soon as 11:30 rolls around they start basically telling you to leave. Now theyre turning the lights off at 11:45. Lets hope im not doing a heavy set of anything or else there goes my safety. Blonde tall fella with glasses seems to be the one doing it the most. Again, i pay for this membership, I dont enjoy getting robbed of the time i pay for. Turning lights off at 12:00, great, you closed I get it. But earlier than that and its mighty rude. The machines are always taken by a group of 5 high schoolers. The machines are ALWAYS broken and take months to get fixed. They don't turn the steam room on a lot of Sundays.. The second month they billed me $45 because my debit card expired and I didn’t update my card in my membership until the day after the payment was deducted. The third month they billed me $80 and told me this was a “rate guarantee fee”. After being billed more than the advertised rate repeatedly a quick google search showed many members report being repeatedly billed with excessive hidden fees and they have a 1.2/5 rating with the better business bureau. Do not recommend Vasa.

Normally, I would have positive things to say about this location. But as of lately, I have noticed the group class schedule caters overwhelmingly to those who do the premium studio classes. I guess this is a way to force membership upgrades.

I signed up and after only going twice, I cancelled. I know all the gyms are packed in Denver, but holy cow. It was so busy that you couldn’t go to the bathroom because of the line to use the facilities. And it was FILTHY. Wipes all over the floors and thrown into the 5gallon buckets that were catching water leaking from the roof. no one was wiping down equipment, power or lights kept going out, you had to fight to get any of the workout stuff and that was assuming that it wasn’t broken or that there were bars or any of the handles needed to use them. Water bottle station was broken and the men’s locker room was disgusting. I went twice with several days between and the same spill was on ledge where you sit. Smelled horrible, one of the toilets was broken, floors were muddy and covered in food crumbs and stick spots where guys had spilled protein drinks etc. only one hand dryer worked so at times there were 4-5 guys lined up waiting to use the one had dryer. I never once saw staff cleaning or putting equipment back where it belonged. None of the weights were where they were supposed to be, so you had to hunt them down. Also, people were VERY territorial about the equipment that did work and even though they weren’t currently using it, there was an untold rule that it was theirs until they say otherwise. It felt like what I imagine navigating a prison yard would be like. Not even worth the $19.

I am currently at this Vasa location and looking at switching gyms. Number one this gym is always packed and so many of their machines are broken. So you always are waiting for a machine. The locker rooms are always dirty and smell bad. The sauna is really hot which I love but again, it’s dirty and I feel like I am letting all sorts of germs in my body going in there. Absolutely love this Vasa location however recent events have lead me to write this review. I’ll start off by saying the staff is absolutely fantastic and the studio coaches are even better. However, recently due to a heavy downpour of snow and multiple leaks in the ceiling as the snow melted, it has caused the facility to have an unbearable and frankly unsanitary odor. A few days ago when I first went and saw the leaks the turf was saturated with water even tho there was buckets. A few days later the gym now has an awful mildew, dirty fish smell. My biggest concern is mildew and mold under the turf that can be a potential health hazard for the members. Also both water fountains seem to always somehow be broken. Staying hydrated when working out is essential especially in a place like Denver where you’re at a higher altitude. All in all, the studio classes seem to avoid that small since they didn’t have any leaking and also there’s multiple fans. 10/10 recommend the studio classes still!

Update: upped the stars since they replaced the turf after listening to their members. 😊

It's a big gym with a lot of variety, the negative is several machines are out and they take way too long to fix them.

When there's rain or snow the roof leaks and it looks like the staff doesn't know what to do, there's no buckets or signage so it's a law suit waiting to happen.

If they fix the roof, fix the machines quicker, then this would be five stars, the staff is friendly and helpful.

Update: December 28, 2024

There's over 10 machines down, this seems to occur a lot, I ended up leaving to another Vasa to get my workout.

The Colfax location is my closest but I'm not sure if the employees are not reporting to management that machines are down but it's ridiculous.

There's also no soap in the men's restroom.

The gym and staff overall is great, i have been coming here for 4 years now and i like it. However, the "KID CENTER" definitely needs new gates. My three year old got his finger stock on one of the gates today and it almost cut him, as of now it still very inflamated. They did a report of the incident and on the cameras it showed that it took the literary a minute to release my poor kiddos finger. As of now it still inflamated, and the doctor said to give it a couple of days, and if it doesn't get better we will need X-RAYS. I have seen and have been told that these same thing happened to two other kids, and even like that the gates haven't been replaced yet. Really????? I just hope that my kid's finger gets better and that is not broken. It took two kid care staff members to release his little finger after a minute. The first staff girls couldn't releasehis finger, not until the second person came and finally release his little finger. "1 whole minute with his little finger stock on the locking part of the gat" :(
They should definitely replace those gates that are definitely not child safe and very dangerous for little kids. Their kid staff is great on the otherhand, but those kid gates inside the kid care center are not safe for little kids and should definitely need attention. I hope they fix this issue soon, and that no more kids get hurt because of those gates.

UPDATE: 12/12: Half their equipment is broken and they are building new classes instead of fixing things. Every stairmaster is inaccurate now-broken. Looking for a new gym. Was using using multi location.
UPDATE 11/24: This gym literally floods with water and it smells like rotting sweaty carpet. It has also had a mold issue. This place needs to relocate for the sake of our health.

I've been coming here for about 2 years & this gym has just gone downhill. Cinema cardio. They also have circuit training, a pool, fitness & dance classes. This place is packed normally but it will probably trickle down due to it having mold issues at the gym for over 2 months now and the employees with no response or concern really. They are literally building a whole nother room in the gym instead of taking care of it and I do not like businesses that put their own profit ahead of their clients health. Go elsewhere.

Ok. I used to love Vasa. The classes were amazing , but they cancelled cycling, 90 percent of the reason I went there. Armani was an amazing instructor and her classes had a positive community. Studio red can be ok, but machines are always crowded. Mens bathrooms constantly dirty and broken toilets.

The overall company is crooked when cancelling I was charged 90 dollars for a rate fee, goes against recent FTC legislation to make gym cancellations easier, I am contacting the better business bureau after this.

I had some good times at Vasa , but how they treated the cancellation process soured the whole process.

I purchased a membership at the beginning of this year. I actually liked this gym at the beginning, my daughter started coming regularly which prompted me to come more. I love the movie room, I’m an elliptical type person, so I start there most days. The movie room began to gave problems one day and over the course of 2 months, I lost track.. it was just broken. I then had some personal problems and hadn’t been back in a while. My daughter moved, so I froze her amount I’m about account. I then tried to cancel the account. Canceling with Vasa has been there worst experience yet. They want at least $200 dollars for 2 people. Deeming from all the reviews about its condition and safety hazards I read for this location recently, I would skip! Just my honest opinion:/

I cant with this place anymore. Ive been a member for about 4 years and it’s progressively gotten more and more crowded without the staff adjusting to it. It’s right next to a high school so you have teens just playing around with the equipment mostly while you just stand around waiting for something to be available. Half the stuff is broken anyways too. Toxic environment and place is riddled with camera stands and wannabe influencers. Good luck trying to deadlift when the platforms are caved in and makes the bar crooked. Im done paying a monthly fee just to stand around for 2 hours and get 2 exercises in when something’s available. Nothing is convenient about this place. Youll get better results getting a warehouse job and lifting stuff there 😂. You are wasting your time and money going here
