I had the most amazing experience at Yoga Pearl! My daughters and I attended their New Moon Sound Bath class, and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, the space felt warm, welcoming, and serene. The studio has such a calming energy as it is beautifully designed, clean, and thoughtfully set up to help you leave the outside world behind.
The instructor guided us through the sound bath with such skill and intention. The combination of crystal bowls, gongs, and other instruments created layers of sound that felt both grounding and expansive. It was deeply relaxing, almost meditative, yet also energizing, like a reset for mind, body, and spirit.
Sharing this class with my daughters made it even more special. It was a rare opportunity to pause together, connect, and experience something so healing side by side. We all left feeling lighter, calmer, and completely recharged.
Yoga Pearl is a gem, not just a yoga studio, but a true sanctuary for well-being and connection. I can’t wait to come back and try more classes!

I thoroughly enjoyed the two classes I took with Stephenie and Justine at Yoga Pearl. Both classes were led with great intention and wholeness of body, mind and spirit. I was in Boulder to help my daughter move into her place. I will definitely return for more classes when I visit her.

Yoga Pearl has been my sanctuary for nearly a year now, and I can’t recommend it enough. What makes this studio special is the variety of classes—vinyasa flow, slow flow, yin, restorative, nidra, meditation—you can always find something that fits exactly how your body and mind are feeling. The new studio is lovely, filled with natural light and calming energy that makes just being there feel healing.
The teachers are incredible. I’m especially grateful for Paige, whose energy and presence will be deeply missed. I also love practicing with Maggie—if you like it spicy, her classes are always a great workout—and Sarah (amazing for flexibility!). I enjoy a slow flow with Justine or Megan, a yin class with Bridget, and honestly, Stephanie can lead any class like a pro—her kettlebell sessions are next-level.
There’s a real sense of community at Yoga Pearl. They host thoughtful events, fun challenges, and collaborations with local vendors, which makes it feel like more than just a place to take a class. I’m so glad I found this studio. If you're looking for a welcoming, grounded, and inspiring place to practice, this is the perfect spot.

Absolutely love Yoga Pearl. I recently moved from Atlanta to Boulder with over 500 classes under my belt, and to my delight, Yoga Pearl is hands-down the best studio I’ve ever experienced. It’s the crème de la crème! From the light-filled, inspiring instructors (Maggie, Megan, Shannon, Justine, Adelaide) to the serene modern aesthetic, the strong sense of community, the music flow classes, and the variety—honestly, I could go on and on. But for the sake of this review, just trust me: Yoga Pearl is something special. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 😉

What an incredible yoga studio! It truly feels at home here and at the NoBo location. The community, teachers, space, location, facilities..everything is so intentionally setup and on point. Truly a happy place to find peace in everything from challenging heated fitness vinyasa classes, yin fascia exercises, meditation and more. So thankful for this Shala, it’s brought so much bliss consciousness to my life.

Was in town for a few weeks and loved that they had the two week trial option! I have been taking advantage of it as best as I can, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed. Every instructor I met demonstrated robust knowledge of the poses and offered options for more difficult/lighter variations of the practice. Their vinyasa flows are creative, as well!! Laura and Bridget were especially great imo🫶🫶🤍🤍 Will def come back

My first time in to the studio was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend taking Meagan‘s class if you can, she’s AMAZING! She brings such joy and presence and has a way of making everyone feel welcomed and celebrated. She holds the space so well with confidence and playfulness- a true skill as an instructor and leader. I can only imagine the vibrant community that Yoga pearl creates on the daily, and I can’t wait to go back! The space itself has everything you need, feels clean and is inviting for all students. I’m so glad to have discovered this space and am really looking forward to going again soon!

I had an incredible experience with Yoga Pearl's Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program. From the outset, I wasn’t looking to become an instructor—I simply wanted to deepen my understanding of yoga. This program provided exactly that, offering an in-depth and serious review of yoga poses, along with a fascinating exploration of yoga’s origins and transformation from India to the United States.
Of course, the physical benefits of the program were undeniable—it’s a great way to refine practice and get into excellent yoga shape. One aspect I initially thought might be challenging was being the only male in the program. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the conversations became open, honest, and deeply meaningful. The discussions in class became an unexpected catalyst for growth, and witnessing that transformation in myself and my peers was truly special.
The anatomy component was another standout, running in parallel with our discussions and providing a well-rounded perspective on movement and body awareness. And I have to give a huge shoutout to Alia—she is building a YTT program that is strong, thoughtful, and deeply enriching. Her dedication to creating a well-rounded experience was evident throughout, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been part of it.
Completing this program left me with a strong sense of accomplishment, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to expand their knowledge of yoga, whether or not they intend to teach.

Love taking classes at YogaPearl! I love that the intention here is centered around connecting to your body and breathe, rather than being a "workout". Can't wait for the North Boulder location to open!
I love their classes so much that I recently took the 200 hour YTT with Alia, Paige, and Kira. The experience was wonderful. A great mix of self discovery, yoga philosophy, alignment, and practice teaching. The community that they built for our trainees was magical. By creating a safe space, we were able to connect and learn even more from our peers. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Huge fan of Maggie Scruggs at YogaPearl in Boulder. Just got back into yoga post pandemic (that's a long time) and her classes are easing me back into it, challenging me, and becoming an amazing escape from the grind. I use to have an amazing teacher in South Beach and I'm convinced Maggie is her Boulder twin sister. Super happy to be back in practice and owe it all to Scruggs.

After my first class at Yoga Pearl I decided to embark on my 200 YTT journey...3 days later! Although I had toyed with the idea for years, it felt like serendipity. My training was considered "intensive" as my cohort participated in class full time; 5 days a week for a month straight. I appreciated this structure to dive headfirst into my yoga education without any distractions. As the weeks progressed we studied the 8 limbs of yoga, proper alignment, meditation practice; all culminating in the creation of our own yoga class. When I first started my practice it was on the east coast at a warm and welcoming studio with impressive teachers. In moving to Colorado, I was seeking that same feeling of home and after trying on a few places, Yoga Pearl finally filled that need. From that 200 YTT I was encouraged to take the restorative training with Valerie and now have become a teacher with the studio! It's been over a year of teaching at Yoga Pearl and I am so grateful to have walked through the doors to my first class.

Completing my Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Pearl was nothing short of transformative. This experience provided me with the confidence, knowledge, and tools to step into the role of a yoga teacher while deepening my personal connection to the practice. What sets Yoga Pearl’s training apart is the expertise and passion of the teachers, the thoughtfully crafted curriculum, and the emphasis on hands-on teaching experience.
The teachers were the heart and soul of this training, each bringing something uniquely powerful to the table:
Paige is an extraordinary teacher whose depth of knowledge in alignment, the chakras, and psychology enriched every aspect of our learning. Her understanding of how the brain works and how that ties into yoga practice gave us a new lens to view the mind-body connection. Paige’s passion for the practice shined so brightly, and her energy and insight inspired me every step of the way. She taught us not only how to align the body but also how to understand the deeper layers of the human experience.
Tara brought the wisdom of yoga philosophy to life in a way that was both accessible and deeply profound. Her experience and authenticity were unmatched, and she held us to a high standard, pushing us to become intentional, purposeful teachers. Through her guidance, I learned the importance of creating safe, thoughtful, and intelligent sequencing to meet the needs of every student. Tara instilled in us the responsibility of holding space with care, ensuring every class is a journey of transformation for those we guide.
Alia added a unique and vital dimension to the training with her experience in goal setting and the business of yoga. Her passion for helping us understand the broader scope of yoga beyond the mat was invaluable. Alia’s wisdom empowered us not only as teachers but also as individuals with a vision to create sustainable, purposeful careers in yoga. Her insights into building goals and navigating the business side of this practice were eye-opening and motivating.
One of the most impactful elements of this training was the emphasis on practice teaching. We didn’t just learn theory—we were given extended periods of time to teach, receive feedback, and refine our skills. Whether it was leading small sequences for our peers or gradually building toward full-length classes, this process allowed us to grow in both confidence and competence. By the time I completed the program, I didn’t just feel ready to teach—I felt excited and capable of holding space for others with intention, safety, and compassion.
This program went far beyond teaching yoga postures. It offered a holistic understanding of yoga as a practice, a philosophy, and a way of life. I walked away not only confident in my ability to guide a class but also with the tools to create meaningful experiences for students—holding space for their growth, stillness, and self-discovery.
Yoga Pearl has cultivated something truly special with this training. The environment is supportive, the curriculum is thoughtfully designed, and the community is filled with connection and growth. If you are looking for a program that will prepare you to teach confidently, deepen your knowledge of yoga in all its facets, and inspire you to grow both on and off the mat, Yoga Pearl’s YTT is the one.
I will carry the lessons and memories from this experience with me forever, and I will always be grateful for the teachers, my fellow trainees (who have become dear friends for life), and this incredible community. Thank you, Yoga Pearl, for an experience that has transformed my practice, my teaching, and my life.

Late July 2023 I’ve completed the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Pearl in Boulder. I was asked by my friend whether this program is worth attending, particularly for someone who wants to become a confident yoga teacher and find work in this field.
The training was more focused on the history of yoga and meditation than on the practical "breath to movement" technique that Yoga Pearl is known for in their regular classes. While the program provided valuable insight into yoga philosophy, I felt that it was light on actual hands-on teaching practice, which was a bit disappointing considering the high cost of the program. I believe that either the price should be lowered or the program should better align with its cost by offering more in-depth, practical training, particularly in the areas that Yoga Pearl specializes in, such as breath to movement.
While there is a potential for future employment at Yoga Pearl, it's not something that comes easily or immediately. They suggest that to be considered for teaching at Yoga Pearl, you would need at least five years of experience elsewhere or mentorship from one of their teachers. This is something to keep in mind if your goal is to secure work as a teacher directly after completing the training.
The staff at Yoga Pearl is nice, and the owner, Alia, cares about her community.
However, almost the whole course was conducted by one of the instructors. There might have been a reason for that, I hope. This instructor was the primary teacher throughout the training, and it seemed like a lot for one person to manage. While there were other teachers and Alia, who came in for some classes, primary teacher did the bulk of the classes during the whole period of training.
If you're looking for an opportunity to spend time in Boulder and have plenty of free time to immerse yourself in yoga philosophy and meditation, this training could be a good fit.
However, if your main goal is to leave the program feeling prepared to teach confidently or deepen your own physical practice, I would recommend looking into other options that offer more hands-on and practical experience. The program is supportive, but I felt that, given the price, I was left wanting more - particularly in terms of developing the teaching skills necessary to lead classes effectively. There’s potential, but the training could be more robust to meet the expectations set by its cost and reputation. Hope my feedback can help both - potential teaches, and Yoga Pearl.

I have had the opportunity to try many classes at Yoga Pearl, and they have all been amazing! There is something for everyone. I like to go to PearlFlow or Heated PearlFlow when I want something more energizing, and SlowFlow, Yin, and Restorative when I want to enjoy a more gentle practice. I also love the special events, there was a wonderful sunrise class at the sunrise amphitheater in Boulder this summer, and I enjoy the sound healings. The teachers at YogaPearl are incredible, I love how you have the option for hands-on assists during practice, and I appreciate that they ask about any injuries prior to practice. All in all, Yoga Pearl is an incredible place and the best yoga studio in Boulder by a long shot!

I have been to many yoga studios across the country on my travels, and Yoga Pearl is easily near the top of my list! The ambiance is very nurturing, and the mindset/vibe is right - there is tangible spiritual aspiration from the instructors, as well as a solid sense of groundedness. Small touches such as burning palo santo really make a difference in the studio. The classes are perfectly challenging and the pace is perfect - many studios' vinyasa flows are either too hot (if hot yoga), too fast, or too repetitive. The flows here are very creative and have pushed me to discover new ways to move in various poses. Highly recommend if you are in Boulder and looking for a REAL yoga studio :)

I tried an intro month pass, which was good value. The studio itself is nice and clean. There are a lot of classes to chose from and they always have special events happening. The flow classes are quite standardized and the teachers 'guide' rather than 'teach' the classes, there is little personal attention. I tried quite a few classes with lots of different teachers and only one teacher asked me about my experience and whether I had any injuries before the class....

Currently on the first month promo, and here’s the breakdown of reasons I would or wouldn’t go through with membership:
Pros
- The studio is pretty. Modern, clean, touches of pink, good lighting, thoughtfully set up.
- Class times. Plenty of convenient options.
- Location. It’s fun to be on the heart of Pearl Street.
- The people. The instructors and other members seem kind and welcoming. Stephanie and Paige are my favorites!
Cons
- Parking. There’s no designated parking and free parking nearby is hit and miss. I’ve taken the bus a few times to avoid the parking hunt.
- Flow style. Although you can absolutely make simple flows challenging by focusing on technique/placement, I personally prefer more difficult + complex flows than I typically find here. I’d describe the classes as gentle-moderate.
- Heat level. I like super sweaty classes (think YogaPod). The heated classes here are only mildly hot.

I have thoroughly enjoyed developing my yoga practice with the Yoga Pearl studio, teachers, and community. I've been practicing in Boulder for 20+ years, and I've called YogaPearl my studio because of the consistency of the sequences, the availability of classes, and the noticeable lack of novice teachers who try to give unsolicited spiritual coaching. ;-)

Yoga Pearl is the BEST! The owner, Alia, is so wonderful and every single yoga instructor is so knowledgeable and amazing. The YP community is one of the most welcoming communities I've ever been a part of!
I also participated in their 200-HR Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in 2022 and had an unforgettable experience. The training was lead by three YP teachers (Alia, Tara, and Megan) and included at least 2 different guest lecturers. I learned so much valuable information that I wish I could do it again! By the end of the training I was 100% prepared to teach a full, 60-minute vinyasa flow class. I also felt it expanded my own personal practice. The instructors also supported us after the training ended by providing materials/resources/connections for different areas of interest within the realm of yoga. I highly recommend completing their training!
Their vinyasa flow class is by far my favorite as it allows me to really connect with my breath and into my body. Every single instructor is amazing, you won't be disappointed!

Attended an outdoor yoga class in the park on a gorgeous day in January. The instructor (Lori) had a very flexible style and described the poses in a way that I could follow. The group decided on a more fun and less traditional flow. I was being introduced and encouraged to attempt poses I either wasn't aware of or didn't think I was capable of doing. Fell down a couple times but I got closer to holding them than I thought I would.
It is honestly the only yoga class ive been to that I didn't want to end. Y'all are awesome. I hope we have more sunny days soon. The only downside: because of I think the wind in my ears, I had a somewhat difficult time hearing the instructor at times. No big deal - just looked over to my neighbor or the instructor when needed (wait what side am I on again?😄). Maybe a little headset mic and USB speaker could help with this? Just an idea, and it might take away from the nice atmosphere of being outside.
Also, to anyone planning to attend: consider bringing your yoga mat and possibly something heavier and more solid to put underneath it if you can. The uneven grass beneath me made certain balance poses a little more challenging than normal - then again, I'm used to yoga on hardwoods floors and the like. I almost want to say skip the mat and just bring a blanket.
Anyway - totally recommend if you can make it to one of these. It makes me want to check out some of your other options, and I hope even after covid restrictions are relaxed more that this continues to be a regular thing. Thank you!

I am so happy to have found Amana Yoga! The teachers are warm, compassionate, humble and respectful of the yoga tradition. During this difficult time of the pandemic, this studio has been able to offer both online and outdoor yoga sessions to keep us all safe yet inspired by the beauty and peace that comes with yoga. Additionally, there have been many educational opportunities to enhance our yoga practice through more thoughtful learning about chakras, meditation, and the therapeutic aspect of journaling. The teaching is very unified in its approach, yet each teacher brings her or his own special spirit and knowledge to the practice. I recently had a sublime experience on a yoga hike at the Betasso Preserve, which I highly recommend! My favorite thing about this studio is how they have created a very warm, empathetic community of lifelong learners! Below is a "view from my mat" during an outdoor practice at North Boulder Park! I recently completed Amana's 200-hour yoga teacher training, and the experience was nothing short of comprehensive, life-shifting, and deepening. After years in the medical and fitness worlds, this training not only made me a proficient instructor by the end, it also brought out my vision, my passion for helping others find more presence and body awareness, and my true voice in the world in service of others. From asanas and intentional goal-setting, to ways of being and the business of yoga, this training has it all.
