Can not recommend Back Stage Dance enough! I was wondering if my three year old daughter would enjoy dance and it is not just the dance she loves it is the community and family that is at backstage. Michelle and the teachers are so welcoming, encouraging, and have such a positive energy it is no wonder dancers start and never leave. So lucky we chose Back Stage!

My daughter has taken dance at backstage for the last year. She loves every minute of it! The teachers are kind, compassionate, and engaging. We had such a great time that we decided to host her birthday there. From beginning to end the party went seamlessly. The communication was great and they did all the decorating and clean up. The kids had the best time doing all the activities and the teachers managed the flow of the party so well! A few parents told me it was the best party they have been to. Highly recommend!

We love all our time at back stage! My daughter dances there every Saturday morning and loves it so we decided to have her 4th birthday party. The best choice! Made our lives so easy as the hosts completely ran the party. My daughter said it was the best day of her life. Would recommend to anyone!

We have been a part of the BSDC family for the last 5 years and competitively this is our 2nd year. The teachers are amazing and my girls love coming to dance every week. They have built such true friendships and this is their happy and safe place.

This is the BEST place for a Birthday Party. My daughter takes a couple classes here so we thought we would give them a try for her 6th birthday party. She invited the whole class, and almost everyone came. The WHOLE CLASS had a blast. It was a perfect space and event for them. I was a little nervous at first that maybe the boys in the class wouldn't enjoy it, or that not everyone would be into it, but the teachers got everyone engaged, and tumbling all over the place. After it was all done they set up tables had cake, and played musical chairs. It was great, and hands down the most reasonably priced option we checked out.

My daughter recently joined Back Stage Dance Center and is absolutely loving it! She feels comfortable there and it definitely is such a nice safe space for her and she is making so many friendships while learning so much! Her smile at the end of every session says it all!

Highly recommend, Back Stage Dance Center in Killingworth, CT. Staff is very supportive in empowering children and young adults through dance and theatric activities. Recently, my Girl Scout Troop visited the studio to meet a badge requirement. Ms. Stacey was so kind, fun and energetic through the whole class. My troop left happy and engaged. Thank you for all you do!

My daughters have both taken many classes at the studio over the years and we have loved our experience with all the amazing teachers we have had!

This weekend my youngest daughter and her BFF celebrated their 8th birthday together with an awesome Dance Party! The teachers (and party hosts) Michelle, Caity and Corrine were absolutely incredible and made it stress free! I supplied the decor/food and they took it all from there and made it perfect and stress-free!

I always recommend them to my friends as a wonderful dance studio and now I can recommend birthday party’s as well!

Can’t say enough great things about this dance studio! All three of my children have taken classes and each one has had a positive experience. The teachers are kind, patient, and encourage individuality in their classes. The recital at the end of the season is beautifully organized and is such a fun way for the dancers to showcase what they have learned. My kids have gained confidence from their classes which has followed them outside the classroom as well. If I could give ten stars I would :)

I am sooo happy we found this dance studio. Michelle, the owner, has been nothing but welcoming, kind, and encouraging to our whole family. All the teachers have been great, and I know my young daughters are in good hands with any class they take. I'm excited to watch them continue to grow and be a part of the Backstage family. My daughters have both been dancing with BSDC for over 15 years! Both recreational dancing and competitive team. We love the professional instructors as well as the team building events like yoga, fundraisers, special guest artists & participating in community events. They give great dance instruction but also teach kindness and teamwork outside of the classroom. I highly recommend bsdc as it has become a second home & safe space for my children.

My family has had a very positive experience at BSDC. My daughter is entering her 3rd year this fall. When she started at age 2 she gained so much from her classes like learning her left from right, how to put her shoes on, wait in a line, and jump. The Little Imaginations class has given my daughter a big confidence boost as well. The teachers are amazing with the little kids, and we especially love Michelle and Corinna. They make each class exciting and plan special events like the Halloween costume dance party. The kids love the recital and this year my daughter wanted to sign up for two classes so that she could be on stage twice in the spring. Can’t wait for another year at BSDC!
