Paul is an excellent trainer. Within only a few months of seeing him all my symptoms have drastically improved! I went from getting knee and back pain after a 3k race to being able to run a half marathon pain free at my fastest ever pace. I could not recommend him more.

I have gotten so much out my training with Paul! I am improving my gait and stance to avoid future injury. I even started sending my 16 year old son to work with Paul to improve his running technique to avoid injury.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but Paul truly deserves more recognition.

Paul is an exceptionally knowledgeable, humble, and kind trainer. As a competitive powerlifter, I have worked with many trainers, yet Paul has exceeded all my expectations. He is always available to answer questions—big or small—and supports you throughout your journey.

Since working with Paul, I have lost over 15 lbs and recovered from significant back, ankle, and shoulder injuries. My sleep quality and overall functionality have greatly improved. Thanks to Paul, I can now play pickleball and even spar in boxing with little to no pain. I highly recommend him and Bare Training Systems.

I see Paul about once a month, and after each session, he provides excellent guidance to help me continue progressing until our next meeting. His innovative tips, tricks, and use of technology have helped me make significant gains and improve my body mechanics.

My wife has recently started training with Paul and has already seen improvements after just two sessions.

I could write a whole book about how choosing Bare Training Systems and Paul has transformed our lives!

I’ve had chronic knee pain as well as a number of imbalances throughout the years. I’ve been to countless practitioners, chiros, massage therapists, physical therapists, and nothing has helped as much as doing the Functional Patterns training with Paul. He has a wide breadth of knowledge and approaches things holistically. He is an excellent trainer - always professional, patient, and really listens. He always breaks down hard to understand concepts for me and is extremely detail oriented. I was impressed ever since our initial consult and the way he puts together footage to help me visualize my progress. Paul has been through the journey himself and has an incredibly inspiring story - his passion for FP and health shows. I’m so grateful for finding Paul!

As a 29 year old who's been struggling with sciatica for the last 10 years on and off, and the past two years chronically, I started feeling hopeless for solutions after seeing different Chiropractors and trying Physical Therapy, only to find temporary relief. Once Paul introduced me to Functional Patterns and helped me understand what I needed was to not just treat my pain, but to uncover the underlying root issues behind my symptoms, it all clicked. For years I have been trying to treat a symptom instead of dealing with the root cause. Paul very patiently and skillfully assessed and navigated me through the unique dysfunctions I have throughout my body to not only address the sciatica, but numerous other imbalances in my body that were triggering other pains and leading me to further injury.

Paul takes on your unique situation as if it were his own, and for me that is beyond valuable. It's hard to find professionals in any field these days that give you their undivided attention and wholeheartedly invest their time into their clients. He does a great job at educating his clients and laying a foundation for the framework he walks you through. He has a deep well of knowledge and practices everything he teaches, modeling everything by example.

Despite 10+ years of reinforcing the physical dysfunctions I have throughout my body in my day-to-day life and in sport, I have found not just temporary relief, but lasting relief and constant improvement through FP in just a few sessions.

If you're in pain, whether chronic, or intermittent, and have sought out treatment without lasting solutions, I HIGHLY recommend reaching out to Paul for an assessment and seeing what he has to offer. Your body will thank you!

I have been working with Paul for about a year and he introduced me to the world of striking and grappling. His knowledge base is deep and he is always researching and working to widen his understanding of the craft.
Paul has the unique ability to adapt his teaching and consistently find new ways to explain points to be understood by any client with any experience level
Paul has a wealth of knowledge about Functional Patterns and of the human body as a whole. I can honestly say I learn something new about how my body works every time I have a session with him and my physical health has improved in many ways because of it.
If you are looking for a trainer that it adaptable dedicated, and knowledgeable that is also lighthearted and enthusiastic, look no further. I highly recommend Paul to anybody at any stage of their fitness journey.

Warning: the first thing you must know when you start training with Paul before your first session is that his terrific lighthearted attitude, unmatched enthusiasm, and permanent ear to ear smile are extremely contagious. You seriously won’t be able to wipe that smile off his face, and it will immediately change your mood and get you ready and excited at the start of each session, no matter how much you may not have been feeling up to it that day.

Paul is very well spoken and detail oriented. I’ve now done both HF and HBS1 through FP, and I haven’t met anyone with the ability to teach these concepts like Paul. FP’s concepts can be hard to grasp and far harder to explain, but he excels at breaking them down to the bare bones and synthesizing them in digestible chunks to make biomechanics easier to understand. He spends countless hours studying the human body and building his knowledge base, and it certainly shows when you work with him. As for MMA, I had absolutely no experience before I met him, but after starting classes he made me excited to become a good fighter. Beginners are more than encouraged, but there are also plenty of people here with years of MMA experience who compete in tournaments. Safety and proper technique are his priority, and there is plenty of opportunity for people of all levels to test sparring skills as well.

Understanding and enhancing your body’s mechanics is a great approach to accomplishing your fitness goals, and I very much recommend having someone with experience at your disposal guiding you. Paul is an excellent trainer and instructor who I guarantee will take your body to its peak performance and keep you out of pain, especially if you’re currently in pain, hitting plateaus, or interested in continuing or learning self-defense.

I have been training with Paul for over a year. I was struggling with joint pain from traditional weight lifting and decided it was time for a change and reached out to Paul. FP has really challenged me mentally and physically. It’s helped me understand the correct way to workout to minimize unnecessary damage to my body. I highly recommend Paul as he’s very knowledgeable and dedicated.

I met Paul about a year ago in a grappling/ju jitsu class. At the time I was struggling with chronic lower back pain that was severely limiting my ability to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. Paul told me about Functional Patterns and his work as an FP trainer, and I decided to try it out. Ten minutes into the first session I started to realize how ignorant I was to what optimal movement entailed, and what biomechanics training had to offer me. It was a revelation of sorts, discovering a path to something Id always wanted but never knew existed. Every session since has illuminated weak links and areas for improvement that I previously couldn’t even conceptualize, along with methodologies to address them that were new but also intuitive, like a connecting of the dots. Besides being physically challenging, Paul’s sessions have also challenged me mentally to think hard about what optimal human movement is, and how I can apply those concepts beyond the training sessions, to everyday life. Paul is an all around great guy who approaches his craft with tremendous positive energy, passion, and knowledge. To anyone who is serious about learning to optimize their ability to move, overcome physical limitations, and life their best active life, you can’t go wrong here.

I was lucky enough to find Bare Training Systems after traditional medicine had not provided any relief for my sciatic pain. After only a couple sessions working on my biomechanics with Paul, my sciatic pain had disappeared! Paul took the time to get to the root cause of my pain—he did this by truly listening and considering my unique set of circumstances. Through a complete assessment of my gait cycle coupled with an understanding of my lifestyle, Paul was able to identify the best interventions to help me. We have been working together for over a year now, and this is THE longest I have ever consistently focused on my fitness in my life! This is because my training with Paul changes over time as I grow and my fitness level improves. Paul continues to learn new things, and he has a great way of sharing knowledge so I can understand it. His passion for fitness is infectious, and I have been able to carry that to my own life resulting in significant change over the past year. He provides a “safe space” that sets clients up for optimal results. I would recommend Paul as a trainer to anyone looking to improve their level of fitness

I have been training with Paul for over a year and it has been an awesome journey! From analyzing my gait cycle, to further exploring interests of mine such as Muay Thai, Striking and Kickboxing. I have also explored FP Body Mechanics with Paul which has allowed me to reconsider traditional forms of weighting lifting and exercises so that I may train within the planes of motion our bodies were meant to operate, while still getting a great workout in.

Paul’s time and dedication to his work is very admirable and he is articulate to ensure that all his clients gain a holistic understanding of this style of training.

Highly recommend for anyone interested!

Whether it be engaging in a one-on-one personal training session or participating in a group class, my experience at Bare Training Systems has been equally positive. Paul (owner of Bare Training Systems) does an excellent job fostering a welcoming, healthy environment; one that encourages collaboration, appreciates questions/idea sharing, and emphasizes the importance of forming long-term goals.

The biomechanics-first approach that is the cornerstone of Bare Training Systems (i.e. training with a primary focus on biomechanics), is what makes this place and Paul stand out from other studios and personal trainers. In taking a systemic approach to training, I’ve learned the importance of modifying my training from isolation to integration of the body. Through posture work, corrective exercise, and dynamic exercise I’ve noticed increased muscular integration and improved posture.

In addition to biomechanics, training here has exposed me to the world of striking and grappling. Having initially had limited striking and grappling experience, I immediately appreciated Paul’s approach in teaching the components of each skill. He breaks down each concept in a manageable way at a reasonable pace. The emphasis is always on executing proper technique in a safe manner.

I highly recommend this place to anyone who values their health. You’re sure to leave each session with Paul with a greater understanding of your body, and a greater set of practical skills to carry with you for the rest of your life!
