Location is great and very convenient. Membership fee is cheap and it shows in the age of the equipment. Most of the cardio equipment is original to the opening of this club and broken down. Treadmills experience errors and lock up frequently so if you are a runner theres a definite safety risk. They also charge an annual maintenance fee of $40 which clearly is not going back into updating/upgrading the facility. CLOSED THIS LOCATION WITH LITTLE WARNING TO MEMBERS.

Cardio Express will only cheat you out of money. Their employees are not properly trained, therefore when you sign up with them you aren't given the correct information, which is what happened with me. Now they are refusing to refund me, although their own employee told me that I was not going to be charged for something. There facilities are not even that nice. There are much better gyms out there such as the edge and planet fitness, who have capable employees.

The air conditioning at the Tolland location has been broken for SEVERAL years. Every year, they say that it's in the process of being fixed but it never gets fixed. Here we are again....the summer of 2018 and it's still not fixed! It's a sauna in there during the summer months. Honestly, it's a liability for them. Someone is going to end up passing out because they are doing high intensity cardio in a gym that is not air conditioned. Last year, I recommended that they at least get some commercial fans which they did but they didn't even put them in the cardio area. Presently, one is sitting in the stretching area. Doesn't make any sense to me. The lack of air conditioning during the summer months is a serious problem and until they get it fixed, I would definitely not recommend this gym!!

Meh. Looks a bit aged.I usually mindlessly stare at the screens while I'm working out but none of the TV's on the equipment I used worked. A bit crowded but it was about 4pm.. I switched back to Mansfield. I just wish Mansfield was 24 hours again.

Been coming here for years, good staff, and nice atmosphere. No one judges you and its an open atmosphere. I come mainly to practice my martial arts(Wing Chun and Kenpo), no one bothers me which is a good thing. I like the fact they greet you, and say good bye to you, its give you a inclination that they at least care that you are there. I like the fact it is near where I live, and job, and I can come at any time to practice or exercise, especially for the price they offer. I wish though they offered kick boxing.
My qualm with the place is that some of the folks that come there dress like extreme gym thots. It can be very distracting with some one bending over showing more then just a t-shirt, and women's underwear and I am trying to run kicking or straight punch drills. I'm all for dressing how you like but there's a certain level of common sense one should have.
My other qualm with the place is that the electronic driven equipment can take some time to repair, like a few months, if you're going to be charging me these maintenance fees, etc., then the equipment should receive routine maintenance. If you can charge my bank account routinely without fail, then you should be able to routinely maintain these machines without fail.

More than half of the treadmills have been broken for months (I think I counted 13 or 14). If you go after work, it is literally impossible to move around people in the weight area (or find parking for that matter). They need more than 1 squat rack. When you email customer service, they either send you a generic passive aggressive email or ignore you completely. Bootcamp used to be amazing but they completely changed their classes for the worse (no more bootcamp, just weightless). BUT the trainers are great :)

A small gym. Most of the cardio machines are broken but they do have decent free weights and a squat rack

The main area of the gym is usually pretty clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Locker rooms could use some improvements, but are not awful. The monthly price is 100% worth it.

Great gym! A limited amount of equipment but there also aren't many people there at any given time which is very convenient! Also open 24/7 during the week which is awesome.

I've been going to this gym for years. It is the only gym that is close to me geographically, and the location is great. In my opinion, there is a great balance of machines there and I practically never have to wait to use things. Also, it is SUPER cheap which is awesome. My only criticism would be that it closes at 5 on weekends. A lot of times in the evening on Saturday or Sunday is when I feel like going to the gym and have time to do it but it is closed then. Overall it is a very nice gym. Clean, good crowd, nice equipment.

I've been going to this gym for a year and 3 months now. I love it!! I've lost 50 pounds, went from a size 14 to a 6. The people who work there are very nice and are always there to help. The place is really clean which I like. It's a smaller gym then others but serves my needs. It's true they need a credit card and take fees every month but you can cancel anytime. The only thing I can tell you about the past reviews is if your not dedicated to go to the gym don't join. I've never had a problem.

Do not do business with these guys. They will charge you for fees without your permission. And they refuse to talk to their customers by telephone. That should be a big red flag. Their model is to get your credit card and keep charging it until you cancel the (credit card) account. Try to cancel your Cardio Express account?? Good luck!

The membership is a scam. Do not even bother - they will screw you out of at least a month probably longer. This is a business designed to make profits and that is all they care about. I signed up for a two month period at the gym in Tolland and told the person, Ruth, signing me up that I had issues with these gym memberships with Bally's before and did not want to go through that again - Ruth assured me that would not be the case and all I had to do was cancel in October. I asked her several times to be sure and each time Ruth assured me there would no problems and no additional charges. I canceled in October and last night saw a charge for November. Called the bank, called the gym - Ruth said call Twin Oaks - Twin Oaks said call the store. I then went to the store and Ruth said only corporate could help me but she did not have a number for them - big surprise there. I have emailed corporate twice. Ruth was neither helpful nor contrite.
Cardio Express is a joke and a rip-off - do not get caught in their web of lies and deceit and dishonest business practices.
