I recently began strength training at Core Principles in Stamford, CT. After a serious back injury, I was a bit reluctant to get started. The introduction and the training have been excellent. The coaches work individually with each member, encouraging progress with every class. I am grateful for their support. Karen J.

I have had a really positive experience at Core Principles, and especially with Emily as my trainer. She is friendly, supportive, and works with me every step of the way during my workout. I highly recommend this program to anyone over 55.

I LOVE Core Principles!! It is NOT your average gym and that's why I love it. I started at Core after completing physical therapy for bulging discs and sciatic pain. I wanted to start exercising again, but slowly, to build back my strength after not exercising for months. Core was the perfect fit! While we work in small groups, 6 maximum, the instruction is personal. The trainers (Haylin, Colleen, Emily and Chris) are ALL amazing!! They can modify any exercise to whatever your needs may be. They are diligent in making sure that your form is correct and that you are working to your full capacity. Your success is their number one goal. When I first joined, I trained twice a week. After several months I am feeling so much stronger and my back pain is gone! I just added a third day to my training! I am sooooo glad I joined the Core team!

My husband and I joined last month, we were looking for a gym that didn’t feel intimidating, with classes to help us get back on track. The small class size (max 6 people) makes it feel almost like having a personal trainer. Each workout is rotated to keep things fresh and challenging, and the two hour-long classes per week are easy to schedule.
The trainers are friendly and supportive—it’s never overwhelming, and you can always go at your own pace. Weights are gradually increased as you get stronger, which really builds confidence. I’d highly recommend this gym if you haven’t worked out in a while and don’t know where to start.

l would like to share how wonderful of an experience l have had at Core Principles Personal Training! l am just starting week 6 of my workout sessions and l could not be happier with the results!!
l suffer from knee pain and joint stiffness and l have to say that even though it was rough at first, l am so happy that l continued with this journey. l am even seeing some muscles appearing! My trainer is Emily and she encourages me at every session to give it my absolute best but by no means pushing me or anyone else to go above our comfort level. We are all in this together and l truly look forward to every session. l train 3 times a week and since starting l am sleeping much better and am experiencing a level of energy that l haven't felt in a very long time! l know this was the absolute right decision for me and l cannot wait to see even more results as this journey continues.
lf you want to gain your vitality, strength and just overall feeling better about yourself then you should definitely check out Core Principles Personal Training!!

I have worked out at many different places over the years and CORE PRINCIPLES exceeds all my expectations.
After 4 weeks, my kid comments that my walking is really improved! I feel so steady on my feet again.
My pants are getting loser too! After 5 weeks now I feel great and love the atmosphere of positivity geared toward my needs.
I have a replacement knee and hip and my trainers know exactly how to handle them . I’m talking to all my friends about how much I enjoy coming here.

I feel that I achieved my goals because I have more flexibility, my core muscles are stronger and my cardiovascular system is in good shape. I love my 6:00AM small training group. Thank you Core Principles for getting me started to accomplishing my fitness goal.💪🏾

My CP journey's goal was to gain strength and balance to my health program. Combining my efforts on nutrition, sleep, and stress management was complimented with CP's clear and dedicated focus to increase my level of strength. My knees are gaining more stability and comfort. The small group work is not intimidating no matter where you are starting. Fun, challenging and well thought-out workouts build confidence. In just 4 or 5 sessions, I am seeing better muscle definition and strength improvements.

I have been attending classes at Core Principles for the past few months. I am an active 51-year-old female, who was looking to balance my fitness and improve my strength. I was looking for personal training for motivation, to improve overall strength, and to support my hiking. The classes I have taken have done that. The coaches are patient and attentive and they make the classes fun. Each class offers exercises for most body parts so I know that I’m getting a well-rounded workout. Core Principles offers a great fitness experience that I’d highly recommend.

I'm so grateful to have found Core Principles! (Shout out to Emily & Colleen!!) I had been going to a weekly small group personal training gym for several years, and when they closed during the pandemic, I stopped working out entirely. It became a huge struggle for me to find my way back to a fitness routine and a community I felt connected to and supported by. Without the gym, and sitting behind a computer all day, I found myself 30 lbs heavier and tired all the time. I was engaged to be married, and my wedding was in 3 months. Trying on dresses made me feel horrible, but also made me realize that I wanted to make a change. I began by changing nutrition habits and as I made these changes I felt a spark of motivation to start working out again. I visited several gyms in the Stamford area before committing, big fancy ones with lots of amenities, and mid-sized ones with confusing pricing structures. From a recommendation by my friends at Stamford Spine, I was invited to try a 21 day free trial at Core Principles. Right away I had a great conversation with one of their trainers and shared how frustrated I was with how I felt and how gyms made me feel uncomfortable. I was looking for something different and that's exactly what Core Principles was for me. They offered small group personal training (6 people at the most per class) taught by skilled trainers who have your best interest in mind and make it really fun. I've now attended 2x per week for 3 months and feel like a completely different person. I'm also lifting the heaviest weights I've ever tried and doing it successfully. I had no idea how fulfilling going to the gym could actually be - but it is if you have the right community of people leading it - and that's what I genuinely feel here. And as a bonus, I felt great in my wedding dress, and I had more energy to dance because of all the great cardio we do at each class. I'm a little younger than the target audience for this gym, but it honestly makes me like it even more. Everyone I've met has been so extremely lovely and they make me feel a part of the family every time I walk in! Thanks for helping me enjoy working out!!! Can't wait to see where this takes me after a year! :)

At the end of my first five week program, I have made significant progress after working out twice a week. I am 65 and still working full time as a teacher, and in the last year my joints had begun to hurt, it was harder to get up and down off the floor and my energy was low. At this point the cardio sections of Core Principles workouts are easier, I am feeling stronger and more energetic. While I have not changed my diet enough to lose much weight, I have lost some inches and can see and feel that my body is tightening up. I feel better and more prepared for another school year to begin. I appreciate the personal approach of the trainers at Core, the first week of one on one sessions, then their encouragement and insightful corrections as I work with the small group make me feel safe to increase the weights I am using and challenge myself. I am looking forward to steady progress over the next year, and am grateful that I found Core Principles.

Core Principals seems to be just what I needed.
Let me start with my balance was suffering and keeping up with grandchildren was challenging. I honestly felt like I needed some way to build up my strength.

I hesitantly met with Colleen & Haylin. They offered me the chance to try it out which was something I would suggest.

The staff is wonderful & so very helpful (and I am what you call "High Maintenance".) Schedules are flexible which I appreciate. (I go twice a week) The classes are structured building each week with variety. Classes are friendly small groups (maximum 6) and the environment feels clean, bright, open, non-threatening and parking is available & convenient.

I actually enjoy going to class!

I was so tired of being tired. I had a lot of fat around my middle. Since I have started 12 weeks ago, I do have more energy and I can see & feel the changes to my body. My clothes fit better. I workout twice a week and love the trainers. They are their to help, instruct you on incorrect position for a particular move. They listen to your questions and concerns, they want everyone to succeed ; at each person's pace. They will guide you into increasing weight on anyone of the weight exercises.

I discovered Core Principles while searching for an exercise program that would help me strengthen my core and help keep me fit. The program at CP has exceeded my expectations,. Not only has it strengthened my core, but it has also increased my flexibility and my overall fitness level.

Never having done any sort of organized fitness program (I have always run for cardio or weights independently), I was a bit apprehensive about the small group approach. Now, two months in, I'm surprised how much I enjoy the program. Its something I look forward to and I am seeing measurable results. It's also a lot of fun.

I would recommend CP's program to anyone who is looking for a complete workout focusing on the core in a relaxed, non-intimidating, fun, and inclusive environment. Even if you have not exercised in a long time or have never exercised, spending time with the kind folks at CP will go a long way to helping you achieve your goals. It has for me.

Emily is such a talented trainer. I always enjoy my strength training sessions at CP. Haylin continues to deliver high quality workouts.
I am a 60 year old plus woman. I wanted to improve my flexibility and core strength.
I do feel more flexible and stronger after the workouts at CP. I like the semi-private setting with other clients. Haylin and his trainers provide a positive environment and they make modifications based on injuries/limitations.
I do cycle class 5x/week and walk daily.
I now do strength training 2x/week at Core Principles. I look forward to the sessions.

Core Principles is great! It’s not your traditionally gym. If you’re like me and don’t really like to exercise, but know you have to, then this is the place to be. There’s plenty of encouragement, no judgement, the classes are small, and the coaches are attentive to your individual needs and capabilities. They’ll make modifications to the program for you based on your current situation. Since i’ve been there, about 10 weeks, I can already notice significant improvement in my everyday life. All you have to do is show up and do your part. Core Principles will do the rest.

Nice clean gym for over 50’s which is a welcome change. Small classes make it easy to get quality time with your trainer to ensure you are getting the most out of the workout without injury. . The ability to schedule classes ahead of time is a must for me as otherwise I would find a million excuses to not attend. Very friendly staff.

Best Semi-Private training I've found for the 50+ population. Since joining Core two years ago, I feel stronger, have more energy, clothes fit better and lost some weight. Workouts are fun, trainers are excellent and the atmosphere is very supportive. Haylin and Pat are terrific at adapting the workout for me on the days my joints would have rather stayed in bed and I always feel better at the end of those workouts than when I walked into the gym. The Core Principles team recognizes One Size Doesn't Fit All and I highly recommend them.

On safari in Cape Town, South Africa. Am in my early 70’s and hiked to the top of the Cape of Good Hope along a very steep and rocky trail. Couldn’t have done it without my Core workouts and fabulous support team of Haylin, Pat, Emily and Michelle. Their workouts prepare you for the adventures you want to have. I highly recommend Core Principles and encourage you to give them a try. You deserve it!

So, to update all on my fitness path;
It’s been a few years, with some intervening health issues, and the CP team has been with me the entire time, always attentive to what ever changes we needed to make. It can be so, so easy to wind the fitness part down at those times, but just at the time that seemed most difficult, the supporting texts and mail from CP staff were a welcome boost.
Personal training is a-lot more than correcting the form, it means looking beyond the studio and supporting the clients as partners. There’s an abundance of that at Core Principles.
It is not easy to take the first step into a fitness program, especially at later ages, but I can think of no better place to start.

I was that guy that was staying home too much I got the Core Principles FOY emaii, responded and haven't looked back. Haydin and Pat have designed programs that catered to those of us over 50- I look forward to my sessions with Pat- He's a perfect trainer for those of us older folks , encouraging, never demanding, but always pushing us to work at our level. I've gained strength, lowered my BP, lost a few pounds, and continue to put my faith in the program. If You're considering to start a fitness routine, the is the place to start.

Update March 2025:

It’s been a year since I started at Core. I consistently come on Tuesday and Thursday as it is a welcoming environment from the coaches and other members. The workout meets my physical needs, I never feel like I’m forced to do something I can’t do at the same time it’s not too easy.

Several weeks ago I spent a week at Disney World and I was amazed at how good I felt. I was walking over 15,000 steps every day and did not feel the aches and pains from prior visits. My knees felt great. I could not believe how a year of workouts could make that big of a difference.

The sky’s the limit.

Written 2024:
At the end of March, I joined Core as the next step in my getting healthy and weight loss journey. As I'm approaching my retirement, I want to be able to travel more which means I have to improve my mobility.

When I started I was having issues with my knees and could not walk up or down a flight of stairs easily. By the end of May, working out twice a week, stairs are no longer an issue, up or down. I just came back from a 10 day trip to Europe and was walking over 10,000 steps every day and felt GREAT!

From day one I felt comfortable and looked forward to getting to class, the coaches told me not to look at what others were doing just focus on me, it was a no judgement zone. They also kept pushing me forward, to work a little harder and to just try.

I want to thank Coach Julia, she has been amazing, always encouraging me to keep going.

I've been going to CPPT twice a week for about 2 months now. I highly recommend their small group training sessions. I signed up because I felt my age was catching up with me and I was noticeably losing muscle strength. I wanted a very focus training regimen overseen by professionals. Their small team is very committed to helping me meet my goals, teaching me to do the exercises safely, and also challenging me. And, they do this in an enjoyable and nonjudgmental environment. The other people in the classes have diverse fitness goals and I'm especially impressed with how they customize the program for each attendee's needs. I look forward to the sessions. The best part is that I am starting to see small improvements! Update 4/15/25: I want to add one more thing. My schedule has been crazy the past month, and their program provides the flexibility I needed to easily reschedule my sessions with their app, allowing me to continue with my fitness program.

I had tried many times to find a gym that would truly invest in me—somewhere I could feel supported, stay consistent, and be pushed in the right direction with the right plan.

Core Principals is exactly that. It’s nothing like a traditional gym. The coaches truly care, meet you where you are, and guide you every step of the way.

I remember being nervous at first by watching others lift weights and telling Colleen on day one, “No way I can hold those weights,” and she said, “Yes, you will.” And she was right!. But now, I lift heavy without pain, my muscles are stronger, and I feel more energized and confident every week.

I’m so thankful to my daughter for encouraging me to join and to the incredible trainers who’ve helped me every step of the way.

Due to life during the pandemic I had become a complete couch potato and gained 25 pounds. I also suffered from constant back pain due to lack of core strength. I was nervous about joining a gym because I had gotten injured at gyms in the past and was also intimidated by large groups. Joining Core Principles has been the perfect choice the small group settings and individualized training has been an excellent experience. I not only have lost 18 pounds but have gained core strength so my back pain has subsided. I feel better every week and am confident I will continue to keep getting stronger. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about gearing programs that are challenging and safe

My experience with Core Principles has only gotten better. Due to the small size of the classes I have made some nice connections with other members. We all have the same mind set to get in better shape in a safe environment. I am feeling stronger every day and have continued to take off some more pounds.
It has been about a year since I last posted my positive experience with Core Principles. I have gotten even stronger and my endurance is much better. The variety of work outs helps me to challenge myself. Highly recommend this Gym!!!
I wanted to update my past posts regarding Core Principles. I have been going for over two years. I have only gotten stronger and improved my bone density. The small groups are great not only do they provide more individualized training but creates a support system among other members. The instructors are great and very helpful. I would recommend this gym to anyone that is looking for an individualized environment

I am updating this review to emphasize what a wonderful place Core Principles is. I have been going to the workouts since 2020 and my health and energy have only improved. Before I stated there my Doctor wanted to put me on medicine for osteoporosis. Since I have been attending work outs two to three times a week my bone density has improved. I also appreciate that certain exercises can be individually modified. The instructors are knowledgeable and patient. Also everyone is supportive and friendly.

After teaching aerobics for 13 years, I closed my franchise in 2023 and had no idea what I'd do (aside from walking) to keep in shape. I saw ads for Core Principles on FB and decided to give them a try; that was about 15 months and over 125 classes ago.

The facility is spotless, free indoor parking, great locker room. Then there are the instructors, each of whom is unique in their personalities and approach to coaching, but all WONDERFUL. The 50-minute training sessions go by quickly. With only a maximum of six students, you get personal attention and encouragement from the trainer. Students might be working at all different levels with various fitness challenges, but the coaches tailor the workouts to fit each person's needs.

I go twice a week, and I love it. The type of training is very different that the dance-based exercise I had been doing but it really works you as hard as you want and, although focused on strength, keeps your heartrate up. I cannot recommend this facility and these people highly enough.

I’ve been going regularly for a few years. I’m extremely pleased. They promise to make you feel like you’ve had a real workout, but not too much. Amazingly enough, I generally leave a session exactly on that line. Exercises are challenging, and of course can be made more or less so, by just varying weight and/or reps. Coaches are very friendly and helpful, and group sessions are just fine for me. My workouts at Core have made me much more fit. I’m definitely hitting the golf ball longer and get many compliments on how fit I look. I never hesitate to enthusiastically recommend Core

I started at Core Principles two and a half years ago. To say it has changed my life isn’t corny or hyperbolic — it’s resoundingly true. It’s not like any gym experience I’ve ever had. It’s challenging and supportive, fun and effective. I’m stronger now than I dreamed was possible at this age. Where I used to say “I’m too tired to work out,” I now see it as a commitment to myself, my family, my present and my future. The coaches are amazing — caring and encouraging and terrific people. In sum, this is a great place. It’s been invaluable to me.

Update #2: I just passed 75 sessions (!!) and am still loving this place. My body is stronger and healthier than it's been in years. I feel so lucky to have this fitness program nearby. Haylin, Emily and Colleen make the space inviting and fun.

One of the gym's taglines is "adding more life to your years." When I first met Haylin and Collen, I remember one of them saying that we have to grow old, but we don't have to grow frail. Both those ideas really speak to the culture of this place.

From the very first appointment, the staff have been kind, encouraging, non-judgmental, and non-pressuring in their approach: they want to know what my needs and limitations are, and they do a great job of working within them. The owner, Haylin, and his training staff (I've worked with Emily and Colleen) are encouraging, knowledgeable, and help create a culture that is fun and inviting. I really look forward to seeing the people at each session: there is always laughter, and people ask after one another. I'm up to 3x per week, and I definitely have more energy, optimism, and a greater desire to take better care of my body because of the sessions. I hope to be a very long-time member and to see my body grow in strength, flexibility and balance. Thank you!

I fractured my upper arm/shoulder last year. My physical therapist emphasized the importance of strength training for bone healing and encouraged me to keep working to regain full range of motion.
I started thinking about how to do this. I have never been motivated enough to maintain a gym membership and knew that wouldn’t change. I thought about a personal trainer at a gym but wondered if that person would know about shoulder injuries and maybe do more harm than good. Also, I didn’t think I needed or wanted a personal trainer. I did know that having two scheduled physical therapy appointments a week was working – it was an appointment to keep because someone expected me to be there.
I kept poking around the internet and came across Core Principles. It seemed to tick all of the boxes – small group strength training by appointment, working with trainers who were familiar with physical injuries and limitations. And here I am – eight months later. The schedule and the small groups work for me. We are in control of our own progress and challenges, supported every step of the way. The trainers are committed to continually improving our experience and learning more about what we need and want. They are also cheerleaders when I show them a range of motion improvement, no matter how small. It’s important to me, so it’s important to them!

After retirement I went regularly to the gym until Covid shut everything down. When the gym reopened, the classes designed for older members had been cancelled and I lost the motivation to rejoin.

I was interested in a personal trainer however my one previous experience at the gym ended in disaster and pain - I was pushed beyond my ability and without consideration of my own medical needs and those of an aging body. Also, the program offered was the same routine every session.

I noticed an ad for Core Principles, basically personal training in a small group in a program for over 50s and on a whim decided to look into it. After an introduction decided to try it out and have now joined, it’s just what I needed.

I love the fact that my own needs are taking into consideration every session and that even in a small group I get individual attention, as do the others. There is no shame in picking up the lightest weights or having a movement simplified as needed. The classes provide a variety of exercises covering all the muscle groups and are well designed so as to not stress but gradually strengthen. The program includes an aerobic component and is nicely varied not to be boring.

Happy to have found this program, even after a few weeks already feeling more energetic and loving having a routine which can be difficult when you’re on your own. Thanks to the great team for their help and support along the way!

What was helpful with the particular specific coaching of good form and doing enough and not too much. The small group format works for me because of the group support and individualized attentions and feedback.

I joined core principles training (for 50plus group) a few weeks ago and have been really pleased with the workouts. I joined because I want to develop more upper body strength and flexibility. Each week I am learning some new exercises and repeating some old, which has been working out really well. Emily is a great coach . Her encouraging words and positive attitude are wonderful. I highly recommend core principles personal training. .

On a scale of 1-10, Core Principles gets a 25!
Coming to Core Principles is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I didn't expect this to be fun, but your cheerful attitude and warm welcome have made this new challenge enjoyable -- and way more than I expected.

What I am most pleased with over the past few weeks is that I have not only given myself permission to commit to this challenge, but that I feel committed to sticking with it! There are a million "reasons" why I "don't have time to do this today", or I'm "just not into it today", but I find that I am enjoying the sessions so much that I look forward to the workouts and the sense of accomplishment I feel afterwards. And that is because of you guys!

All of the trainers I have worked with are patient and you correct my mistakes with a smile. I love that the classes are small and that you have time to work with each of us individually.

It's only been a few weeks so far, but I am already seeing a difference in how I'm feeling, both physically and mentally.

I cannot recommend Core Principles enough -- it's truly one of the most worthwhile things I've ever done.

I am so happy I found Core Principles. My doctor advised me that women who are post menopausal need to work on strengthening our core and bones. I found Core Principles and gave it a try. I have been going two times a week and have seen real progress in my strength and flexibility. On my first session I could not even do the dead bug(lift my legs while on my back)...it didn't take long and now I can! You know what else I can do? Touch my toes! I haven't done that in 30 years! I have arthritis in my knees and the team makes sure that the program meets my needs. Getting down on the floor is not something I can do yet and they provide me with the supports I need. I recently discovered that I can walk up stairs "normal" instead of one at a time! While this may seem like no big deal it has really motivated me and shows me that I made the right choice. I don't always want to go to classes but I am always glad when I do go. The staff takes good care of you and really tunes in to your needs. Give it a try!

I saw an advertisement on social media for Core Principles, what caught my attention was the fact that it was for age 55 and up. Having arthritis on knees and hands I had stopped going to the gym for over a year, so I decided to give Core Principles a try. Core Principle is just what I needed, the sessions are with small groups which allows coaches to get to know the clients. The staff is very friendly and attentive to the clients, making sure that all clients are working at their levels but still being challenged.

I’ve been going to Core Principles since June 2024 and I absolutely love it! Training classes are held with a group of 6 people that are at different levels, although the gym is small it packs a big punch! You can be “hard core” or “moderate” and the trainer teaching doesn’t miss a beat and neither will you. Trainers are attentive to your aches and pains and adjust the exercises for a better experience and class for you. I love the feeling of accomplishment and energy for the rest of my day along with excitement of the next class! I can’t say enough good things of the trainers and management, they are professional, upbeat, fun and helpful annnnd they play great music!

I have always had trouble feeling comfortable at big gyms, but I want to keep active and fit. I was attracted to CP because of their small class sizes, focus on older clients, and personal attention. The staff there definitely makes us feel welcomed and valued. I have been going twice a week and though I don’t live so close, I feel motivated to keep showing up. The sessions are enjoyable and when I leave the gym, I feel like I’ve had a good workout. CP is the antithesis of the big box gyms.

former body worker and dancer lots of experience around gyms and personal trainers - I knew what I needed post hip replacement was neither of those. CP provides a fantastic structure to regain strength and mobility. Classes are small (max 6!) and workouts are amazingly tailored to individual need. Intake is a serious process of evaluation and trial so you can set out with aspirations guided by realistic expectations and start in the classes with confidence that you’re known to your instructor. The instructors are wonderful! Each has a light touch but don’t be fooled - you’ll be working! Mindful of past injuries and potential frailties they are constantly monitoring your form. And as like attracts like - the other clients this group attracts, are a warm set of individuals moving their lives forward with positivity and intention. Obviously I don’t know what you’re looking for but if you’ve read this far - CPPT is likely a good fit. Enjoy!

I was invited by a friend to check out Core Principles at the end of June. I knew I needed help to get active again and needed the supervision of a "coach" to avoid injury due to preexisting injuries. Skeptical and cautious I checked it out. I can say that it has been better than expected.
1) The fact that we are all in the same age bracket was a nice change from the typical gym. A non judgmental atmosphere by far.
2) The small groups are an additional motivator as we all have our own reasons for being there and maybe physical issues, but encourage each other.
3) What really appreciate the most is that they are fantastic in the individual modifications of any exercises if you have any physical limitations to avoid injuries.

After only a couple of months of going twice a week, I can feel my strength and mobility coming back after a year of back and leg problems and limited mobility. Julia's energy, enthusiasm, encouragement and attention to detail is greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this faculty to anyone that needs that extra attention to form and safety from injury yet with a small supportive group of your peers to cheer you on.

Before starting Core Principles, I was a couch potato! I spend a lot of time taking care of my husband and my goals were to be stronger, more flexible and have more stamina in order to be able to do so.

I have been here a little over a year, and so far I have accomplished all those things and more! I can stand up easier, I can walk further, and I am not afraid of doing activities that a year ago would have intimidated me. My arms feel so much stronger, and it's easier for me to lift my husband's walker in and out of the car.

Overall, I am extremely proud of myself. I feel like I have taken control of my health and my life, and I have been more consistent with my workouts than I ever thought possible. I am looking forward to achieving even more goals!

I started working out at Core Principles about two months ago. I don't like to work out, and I have had some issues with sciatic pain before that really limited my activity. My goals were to gain strength and to avoid any pain in my sciatic nerve.

I am so proud of not only how consistent I have been, but also of how much my form has improved. While scrolling through social media I saw an advertisement for Core Principles Personal Training in Stamford promoting small group personal training for those over age 55.

I recently moved from Huntington, Long Island to Greenwich and had started my recovery from breast cancer surgery. I knew I needed strength training to help with my recovery and to maintain bone density health.

I just finished my first five week session going twice a week trained by Julia and working out with a wonderful group who make it fun! I feel stronger and more confident and enjoy the sessions immensely. I started working out with Core Principle because I wanted to get back in shape to continue my favorite past time racing off road motorcycles. Due to the limited class size ( 6 people ) maximum. The trainers can give your personal attention to your workouts. They will correct improper form and give you an optional exercise if you are uncomfortable with the one on the program . I really enjoy the personal training aspect of this program ; their direction and motivation are a key to my success.
I have been a member for over 2 years now working out twice a week. I have noticed an amazing increase in my strength and stamina. Another benefit is I lost around thirty-five pounds and I feel more energized.

For those 55 yr old and older I highly recommend Core Principles. With no more than 6 people per class and sometimes less which allows for plenty of time for personal attention so much so that I feel each work out is individually tailored to me. Haylin, Julie and all the other certified instructors have shown me the correct positions for all the different exercises. They teach you the basics and then advance you as quickly or as slowly as needed. I feel my core and lower bank getting stronger and I would not have made this progress at any other gym.or trainers. I checked and only Core Principles caters to those 55 and over.

I joined Core Principles' online classes during the Covid period to battle both isolation and the need to get healthy. I loved the idea of getting personal training at home, on my own time. I also loved the community of people who connected each week via Zoom; they were warm and friendly and between Pat and Haylin kept us interested and motivated. Once life started to get busy again that became harder to maintain and for a while I had to stop. But health concerns brought me back this time into the studio and I liked very much the smallness of the classes, that many of the people were a little closer to my age and most importantly, the individual attention of the trainers. The trainers are all very friendly, motivating and encouraging so that you feel from week to week as if you are building strength and making progress. It is certainly rigorous but the joy is to see yourself doing better and feeling stronger. I am a person with some medical challenges and a really busy schedule for a retiree but I have managed to squeeze in my two classes a week (I would love to do more but for a retiree on a fixed income affordability is always an issue) and try really hard to attend regularly. When I miss I can feel the difference in my body and my sleep. I am a terrible insomniac but when I exercise sleep comes far easier. I also find I have less of a tendency to snack and concentrate more on eating healthily when I am exercising regularly. So if you are in your 60s or 70s and you are looking for a place to exercise so you can feel stronger and maintain a good healthy lifestyle. Core Principles is probably for you. See you there.

I’m so glad I found Core Principles in Stamford CT, and I will tell you why:
Recently I moved from the Netherlands to Stamford. Therefore, I quitted my weekly Pilatus and Yoga work outs. Because I find it very hard to do a workout on my own, I’m so happy with the people of Core. First, I met Haylin and he introduced me to their way of workouts. In the small group training Emily is in charge and she is doing a great job. When necessary, she encourage you, or adjust/correct your posture so you’re sure you’re doing the right thing.
When I had an issue with my shoulder, they all were so nice and helpful and caring. Emily is always s interested in me and when necessary easily capable to adjust the exercises.
The core community is really friendly and I always feel at home there. I’m not even thinking about going to a regular gym; I don’t want to get lost with all the difficult equipment.

Before coming to Core Principles, I was always trying to lose that stubborn 5 pounds and wanting to get toned and get stronger. I always worked out and ate well, but I still felt like I was not exercising and eating correctly. In my initial meeting with Haylin, we decided that strength training was the best route to go in order to meet my goals. The training groups at Core Principles are amazing! They are small and led by the greatest coaches who give you constant feedback and attention to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly and doing them at the level that is appropriate for your body. The workouts change every five weeks so you can see your progression and not get bored. I feel that I have become stronger and toned since training here and have met many great and fun people along the way! I highly recommend Core Principles if you are looking to strength train in smaller groups and in a relaxed atmosphere. They truly are excellent!

Core Principles is a great place. I was feeling a bit lost post covid and trying to exercise but found my gym had let go of most of the staff and it was pretty solitary and boring.
I've just had my 1 year anniversary at Core and am so delighted. I come 2-3x a week and enjoy each session. They are not just instructors, they are coaches who really get to know your needs and capabilities. .
My energy level and strength has greatly increased and I have more flexibility. I feel better about myself.
Most importantly its a fun and comfortable atmosphere! Don't hesitate, just come and try. Enjoy the company and learn from the coaches how to get yourself strong - at your pace and your level.

I joined Core Principles (CP) to improve my fitness level and general energy/endurance. I considered myself strong and healthy before joining, but I was looking for an age-sensitive program that would identify and focus on weaknesses. CP surpassed all of my expectations. The group classes are small and individualized. Our coaches are very supportive, while still challenging us; their tweaks and corrections promote individualized improvement. The program’s planned exercises change and aren’t overly repetitive. After 4 weeks, I feel stronger and more energetic (that pesky “muffin-top” is almost gone) and, most importantly, I really look forward to classes. Great for over 50 (& over 60… )!

Starting my 3rd month at Core Principles.
Has given me a new lease on life.
I am stronger, I have confidence.
And I'm able to walk several blocks without losing my breath.
Yes, it was that bad!
The personal attention you receive from the trainers is so uplifting.
Core Principle is a warm, inviting gym.
Actually, I call it a boutique gym.
With only six people in the class, the one-on-one attention is constant.
You are encouraged every step of the way.
Core Principle is located in a convenient location with plenty of parking.
So happy I took the first step to getting back my health.

Excellent and fun personal trainers in a group setting - you come in and you’re guided through a great work out. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Core Principles for those of you who are thinking of joining a gym and have not had success at other gyms. This is a very small gym with personalized programs in a small group setting (no more than 6 participants in the gym at a time). Being that this gym is 50 and over, I feel comfortable and able to be myself. I have been going twice a week for 2 months and I feel stronger than I have ever felt before. I am hopeful that with consistency and the support of the wonderful trainers at Core Principles, I will achieve my 2023 goals.

The entire team at Core Principles truly deserve the highest praise for their dedication ,professionalism and kindness. They aren’t “ hard core” but very focused on getting the job done with small steps towards getting us in better shape.
My program is part of the small group classes which is just right for me .I came to meet with Haylin as I received some disturbing news from my Dr who recommended a weight loss and fitness program .I have participated in the groups, twice a week for close to 3 months and I’m feeling much better and have gotten some weight off . My energy level is higher and I’m more active ,and pain free.
Each and every trainer is very upbeat, positive , and fun!
Looking forward to a great 2023 with Core !

I'm still there, fully enjoying the feeling of gaining strength and definition. The workouts are challenging but not over the top and I enjoy being with other like people. The trainers are attentive to our every move and provide alternatives when a particular exercise is not appropriate for my level. I keep going back and I look forward to our sessions.

In 2021, I had the opportunity to make some life-changing decisions. I really needed to find ways to help me take better care of myself, and I wanted to jump start a regular exercise routine. I didn’t know exactly what that meant, except I wanted something that would motivate me, wasn't intimidating or in a loud and crowded space. When I saw an ad for Core Principles about how they focused on solutions for people over 50, I thought it was worth checking out.
These guys have provided me with the right kind of ‘team’ oriented experience, a friendly environment with small classes, as well as one-on-one training and a real care for helping me feel better about myself, improve my health and continue to increase my strength and stamina. All without removing the fun!
After more than 150 sessions I am still willing to challenge myself with all that Core Principles has to offer and doing it with a team of people who really care, are incredibly knowledgeable and support me in achieving my goals.

9.6.2022
Just a quick note to update my last review of 2021; joining the Core Principles program continues to be one of my best life changing decisions. Pat and Emily are excellent trainers, the workout programs and circuits are challenging and my workout buddies are motivated, supportive plus as a bonus, have a supreme knowledge of rock and roll trivia. Happy to report, ALL of my recent annual medical exams including blood work, etc. show a marked improvement in my one year at CP. To quote Bob Dylan, "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now".

Just after my 71st journey around the sun, I began to assess my physical condition, aches, pains and general fatigue. A defining moment was during and after an 18 hole round of golf, a game I thoroughly enjoy, when I had difficulty walking the 18th fairway as I was thoroughly exhausted and experiencing a variety of muscle aches. I knew I needed to get my mind and body into shape for my active life style including loads of family activities, a physically active business and many interests and hobbies.
After interviewing several fitness centers and personal trainers, I hands down decided that Core Principles would be best for me and after 6 weeks of committing myself to the program, I AM OVERJOYED. I look forward to my early morning sessions with Pat and Dorian and I leave with a new exuberance and energy; just what I was looking for. The workout sessions and varied circuits are as challenging as you care to make them. The trainers hands on guidance and constant words of encouragement have certainly challenged me to push myself; again just what I was looking for in a program.
The result after just 6 weeks of training and adjusting my eating habits is that I feel wonderful with renewed energy. I look forward to play dates with our grandchildren. Our dogs are happy for the many new long walks and hikes we take. I'm sleeping much better with no aches or pains when arising and albeit slow, I'm losing weight as I gain muscle and renewed agility. I'm a believer in Core Principles and thank you Haylin for all of your words of encouragement to get me to take that first challenging step.

I have been working out at Core Principles for a year, and I can’t say enough good things about both the program and the whole crew there. When my physical therapist recommended CP, I was a bit leery of the “50 plus” thing, but after just a few sessions, I was completely sold on the idea. The workouts are challenging, and the clientele runs the gamut, from very athletic and strong to not so athletic and looking to get stronger. I recently had achilles surgery, and the CP team was supportive every step of the way, checking on me post op and then helping me with accomodations when I returned to the gym. As a lifelong recreational tennis player, I have had many injuries precisely because I did not focus on conditioning. The single, most important thing to me now is to be strong enough and healthy enough to do whatever it is I want to do, whether that is playing tennis or hiking or just playing with my grandson. At CP, they focus on enduring, long term fitness, and the small group size makes me feel like I’m getting private training at every session. Easily a 10 out 10. I highly recommend!

Summer is over and our kids and grandkids are back to school and daycare! It's the perfect time to do something for US!
That's why I wanted to share about Core Principles Personal Training Studio. It's a pleasant, fun, un-gym kind of experience for ages 50+. Here's why i love it:

- The classes are small group personal training sessions - so it's for PEOPLE OF ALL FITNESS LEVELS. For real. I'm in classes with people who have never lifted a weight before they got here, and then there are athletes/weekend warriors/scratch golfers who are all together getting a great workout. It's all customized and laser focused specifically to your needs. It's really cool.

- I never enjoyed working out, but i know how important weight training is at this age. The owners and trainers at Core Principles have helped me get control of my health. I started with just a few trial sessions, and before I knew it I was loving it so much that I was on a weekly schedule! And talk about results - I've achieved favorite aunt status because I can actually get on the floor with my nephew and play trains with him all afternoon. hah!

- I've met some awesome neighbors with the same goal - to get and stay healthy in a fun environment. I look forward every week to new workouts, fun playlists, great discussions, and challenging myself (and maybe a few blue ribbon recipes and wine recos with a few get togethers along the way!).

Core Principles is definitely worth checking out!!!

Joining Core Principles, over two years ago, has been one of the best decisions that I have made for myself! From my first meeting Haylin, I felt that I finally found an exercise program that was designed just for me!
Being over 50 and having struggled with my weight and exercising my whole life, I now am excited to work out each week! The workout programs are challenging enough to make a difference in your strength and endurance and can be modified to your fitness level. They keep the workouts fresh and incorporate new exercises into your routine each month. Emily, Pat and Haylin genuinely care about you and get to know you. They assist you with reaching your goals and encourage you to keep exercising outside the gym as well! I have enjoyed these workouts so much, that I have also taken the initiative to begin exercising daily on my own as well! In the past 2 years, I have lost 83 pounds and am taking less medications. Incorporating exercise into your life is so important for your physical and mental health. If you are feeling stuck and overwhelmed with aches and pains because of your weight, don't waste another day! Give Core Principles a try and feel better! They offer you free sessions when you begin, so why not try the Core Principles program? You have nothing to lose!

Core Principles Personal Training offers an interesting combination of cardio and strength training that is not the same old boring routines I experienced at other gyms. Working in small enough groups so that each person gets the individual attention you want and deserve. There is warmth and caring instead of a person just demonstrating exercises. After spending the last six months trying to stick to an at home exercise routine and finding that my drive to stick with it was waning, I made the decision to join Core Principles and I am so glad I did! After just a little over a month at CP, working out twice a week, I am feeling healthier, more energetic, feeling more toned and strong. Classes are fun, and the crew at CP are professional and encouraging. Such a positive experience.

Well here I am about four weeks maybe a week or two more past my initial review. Iam happy to say that I continue to feel healthier, clothes are fitting differently, more specifically the dress I am wearing to my daughter's wedding Saturday. Working with the team at core principles has been nothing but enjoyable, it's fun, the workouts are challenging but can be personalized, the workouts change, targeting different areas so boredom with the routine doesn't become an issue. Looking forward to a workout is so important to your being consistent and seeing results. Helps to keep you more on track with eating healthier as well. Give yourself the gift of a healthier lifestyle, you won't be sorry.

When I started at CP I was in a lot of back pain. My mobility was down to zilch. I reached out to the crew there because I loathe commercial gyms and needed to be held accountable.

Now I've been working out there two times a week for six months or so and have already increased the amount of weight I can l lift by a huge amount, my physical mobility is better than it has ever been and I find that the depression I have fought for my entire life is significanlty less than it was.

Going to Core Principles has encouraged me to start jogging again. I literally bicycle to the gym and then home after. Crazy! I honestly can't believe it myself.

If someone is on the fence, I'd say give it a shot. It's not a fashion show or a meat market like you see at commercial gyms. Everyone there is approachable.

I have been attending Core Principles for about 6 months now and I am glad I joined up. If you are looking to get stronger and have more energy to do the things you love, then this is a great program. I like that the group classes are small, no more than 6 people at a time (and often even fewer), so that I get a lot of individual attention and modification of exercises if need be. They only cater to people like me who are 50+ years old, so the coaches work to ensure I am doing exercises appropriate for my age, but at the same time challenging me. I had very specific goals of wanting to get stronger to be able to continue playing tennis and kayaking and I have definitely gotten stronger, and even dropped a couple of pounds through this program. Try it!

I highly recommend the Core Principals program. I had aches and pains stemming from years of sitting at a desk that were starting to impact my ability to walk - my body just felt old.
Since committing to the Core Principals program last fall for two days per week, I have built strength, I am walking with no pain and feel much better in general. Core Principals sessions consist of carefully planned exercises that focus on building strength in clients who are over 50 years old. Classes are welcoming, clients are closely supervised to ensure exercises are done safely and for the most effective results, and alternatives are offered based on individual client needs. The Core Principals team, including Haylin, Pat and Emily are not only knowledgeable, but also genuinely kind individuals who care about their clients' well being. Give it a try - you will feel better!

I feel very comfortable and relaxed here.

I am a newbie at CP, just 7 sessions or so and I am confident I'm on the right track to getting my 63 yr old achy & out of shape body back on line. I'm fairly active, play golf, ski, hike, enjoy working on my lawn & landscape at home. I can already feel the additional stability i have with my back, hips, arms & legs!
The plan is to also lose weight, so with feeling better after activity I'm more apt to put in the sustained effort and be positive about it all! Really pleased I made the 1st move at Core.

I'm 64 yrs old. I was very fit through the age of 50, modestly fit until 62, but two lethargic years of pandemic and I was just plain unfit. I've been training twice a week for just 3 months and couldn't be more happy with my decision. The trainers and other members at Core Principles are great folks. It's a very positive atmosphere.
When the pandemic hit I started golfing every Sunday, the most I've ever played. Typically I would need 3 or 4 days for my sore back to recover. I often walked the 18 holes, but by the second year of the pandemic I was always using a cart. My legs and knees just couldn't stand the strain anymore.
I recently played two days in a row on a very hilly mountain course in New Hampshire. I walked both rounds, each round a hot and brutally hilly nine miles. And I had absolutely no ill affects. No strains, no soreness. And then I played again two days later. No way I could've done that 3 months ago.
This is the first time I've done strength training. I'm now a firm believer that as we age, strength training becomes more critical.

I've always felt better when I was working out. But, I was finding it hard to be consistent and stay motivated. Core Principles has helped with that. Before I joined, I was hoping I'd get a work out in. Since joining, I know I will have scheduled work outs with structure, and get some coaching/encouragement along the way. I am feeling stronger and moving better. Most importantly, I am feeling hopeful, that I will enjoy my works outs, stay motivated continue to feel my best. Core Principles have created a lovely environment. The trainers get to know you and what motivates you. They are skillful at modifying activities for different abilities. The other members in the small classes are like-minded. It makes for a uniquely positive experience.

I was going to wait until it was a "better time" for me to join. I am glad I didn't. There is no better time than now to start :)

By the time NYSC closed from COVID I was pretty bored and unmotivated from the routine , classes and trainers. I wanted more ! I wanted a gym that actually cares about people, programs that work and a fun environment ( as if working out could be fun)! When I joined Core Principles Personal Training it was during covid and their protocol was paramount. Classes were (and still are,)6 or less individuals all in their own dedicated space complete w gym equipment . Classes are challenging but doable and all exercises can be modified but the focus is on doing them correctly NOT getting hurt. I have never been to a gym where the instructors know your every ailment, what and how to modify each exercise then they personally bring you mats, dumbbells, bands and anything else you might need...in the middle of the class! The instructors make this place .Oh and did I mention their program changes every 4 weeks so their is no boredom! I have built muscle mass, increased my flexibility and improved my balance...all very important goals after 50. Can't say enough about Core Principles and the instructors it is my new happy place. Thank you Heylin, Pat and Dorian!!

I’ve been going to Core Principals Personal Training for a little over two years and I highly recommend it. In retirement, I clearly lacked the self-discipline to keep off the couch and stay in shape. A good friend told me about Core Principles which specializes in the 50+ crowd. I gave it a try. With relatively small classes…typically 3 - 6 people… nobody is out to prove anything and there’s a friendly camaraderie among participants. Each session is productive in helping you work toward an increased level of total fitness and the excellent coaches are mindful and take the time to understand each victim’s…ah, client’s…limitations. I, for instance, have a full shoulder replacement which functions very well, but can’t do everything that it could previously. No bid deal. The coaches work with you to adjust exercises to suit individuals strengths and limitations in a friendly atmosphere. For those who want to pay particular attention to weight loss, Core Principles has programs to help you meet your goals. Coach Haylin runs a great facility with plenty of conveniently scheduled classes (both in-person and virtual). He is joined by other two other highly competent coaches that completely understand and share his vision.

I’ve been working out on and off my entire adult life at many different gyms. So when I started looking around again I stumbled upon Core Priniciples and was intrigued by its focus on the over 50 crowd. At 63 I was feeling pains in my joints and back, losing muscle mass and recently diagnosed with osteopenia. I committed to small group classes 2x/week 10 months ago. I’m extremely pleased that I did. I’ve seen improvements in strength, mobility and endurance and a new member in my class recently said that she wanted to have arms like me. The best part is I just plain feel better. That keeps me going. However I think the secret sauce is the staff. They are kind, thoughtful and encouraging. This is by far my best gym experience ever. I started with Core Principles just after turning 60, when I realized that I was starting to feel like a little old lady even though I am quite active. I was dragging myself up stairs, had a backache when holding a small child for a short while, and even felt sluggish picking something up off the floor. After doing their virtual classes 3 times per week for 2 months, I am so much fitter, stronger and more nimble, and regular activities are done with ease. The coaches are amazing--by far the best I have experienced even at in-person high end gyms. They are able to provide very personalized coaching in the virtual classes, and are highly skilled at helping you become more fit through whatever injuries or ailments you may have. Don't avoid or delay joining this program because you think you can't do it! With their support, you can! The classes are fun, and you don't need much equipment. I am so grateful to have found Core Principles. I am more optimistic about staying fit as I age!

As i approached my 60th birthday, I reflected on a lot of things about my life and my overall health was a major concern. I was out of shape, overweight and tired all the time. I had seen Core Principles ads on Facebook looking for a few people over 50 to try their Fountain of Youth program. I wasn't convinced and tried other gyms. A lot of other gyms. Like the story of goldilocks illustrates, some were to hard and some too soft. Core Principles was just right for me. I found a gym that motivated me to workout up to 3 times from sitting on the couch doing nothing. I now have the same energy levels I had when I was a kid. I move pain free for the first time in years. The Core Principles approach may be simple, but its effectiveness is undeniable. The small class sizes and like minded folks put you at ease and push you to help yourself. If your on the fence about joining gym to get healthy, call them today, Haylin and Pat are welcoming and really want to help, they really helped me.

It’s hard to believe that I was able to find my health and fitness balance in a pandemic, but the team at Core Principles helped me make it happen.

After many months of being at home, I was definitely not feeling my best (like many of us). I had managed to keep my weight steady, although it was a daily battle as I opened and closed the refrigerator every hour on the hour, and with my daughter at home for remote school baking delicious cakes that were just too hard to resist. I had tried to commit to a regular fitness regimen, but that also was a struggle. With a hectic (Zoom style) work schedule, it felt hard to stick to a routine and there were many days that I just felt anxious and completely unmotivated. Not to mention that leaning over staring at my computer screen nonstop for 10 months had done nothing for my posture or my core strength (which was poor to begin with).

My friend shared with me how he had actually been able to keep his health and fitness routine going throughout these crazy times. He had mentioned before about how he had struck a balance that worked for his lifestyle, and I was finally ready to hear more. He told me about Core Principles located right in Stamford (conveniently located just a few miles from my home on Summer St.). What he described about Core Principles was really an elevated, “un-gym” experience, which sounded good to me because I had been there and done that with the whole intimidating gym setup. I called them and initiated my 30 day trial. I felt like I had made the right move from the moment I talked to Haylin. He took the time to get to know me and my personal goals and challenges. I was totally honest with him about what I wanted to get out of it – a way of life. And off we went.

I was set up with my first 1:1 personal training session, where Haylin shared more about the Core Principles approach. He showed me some foundational exercises and stretches that would set me on the path to a routine designed to build my core strength and work toward a leaner body. He also set me up with my 12-week lifestyle makeover tracker designed to help practice healthy eating skills through small, stepwise changes, along with weekly or biweekly check-ins (based on my preference) for an added layer of reinforcement. Besides some new knowledge and information, what I took away from that first session was “wow, this team is here to SUPPORT” in every possible way. From the one-on-one sessions I moved to weekly semi-private training sessions in their safe, socially distanced workout facility (all of their sessions are offered virtually as well). As my friend had promised, the Core Principles clientele was just like me – over 40 (ok I’m 50) and looking to optimize their health and wellness in a friendly and fun environment. While the semi-private session features the same general type of workout for each client, Pat the trainer carefully customizes each move in the workout to the needs and goals of each client. From the amount of resistance to the heaviness of the weight to slight modifications on an exercise, I get the workout that is custom tailored for me. It really brings a new level of “personal” to training.

After 3 months of being a part of the Core Principles group, I can honestly say that I am feeling leaner, stronger, and more confident than I have in a long time. It feels awesome to be losing weight (in a sensible way), building core strength, walking taller, and holding my shoulders back. With practicing these new fitness and nutrition habits, I know that I’ve finally landed on a way of life (hopefully the Fountain of Youth 😊).

As someone who works in client services, I know that it’s really all about the customer experience - and the team at Core Principles has mastered the art of it! If you are looking to strike that health/fitness balance with some real experts who offer true 360-degree support, I would absolutely encourage you to give Core Principles a try.

I first became interested in core principles by my co-worker, who looked amazing after working out there for 6 months. My hesitancy was that I wanted to be sure that the trainers were well qualified as I had lower back problems in the past, did not want to risk exercising on my own, or get hurt from trainers who did not understand my issues.
I am now on my eighth month working out 4 days a week, and feel stronger and feel better every day. I attribute this to not only my dedication to working out, but the hands on assistance I receive from my trainers when I am there.
In addition, I had very little idea how poor my eating habits were, but received guidance and a plan as to how to improve it.
Lastly, I am impressed with the progress I see from the other people who have been coming to the gym, proving that anyone can improve, you just have to want to.

I can't say enough about this program. Haylin, Dan and Pat have thought of it all! From the individualized workout programs each client receives to the 30 day trial period. This business is founded on solid principles and personal integrity. What I love about the program is it is personalized attention executed with a small group. I am finding it just as effective as one on one training with the bonus of connecting with others around the same age. The atmosphere is comfortable and the trainers are approachable and focused on your individual needs- albeit knee replacement restrictions or a back in spasm-they will get you back on track and feeling good! You have nothing to lose, literally-try them out!

Over the years I have tried just about everything there was for exercise programs. I have been with CP for 4+ years and I am as happy now as I was month 1. The individualized attention that is paid to my overall fitness and health goals is like nothing I have every experienced.

Wanted to go to a fitness center that had experienced trainers, did not feel like fashion show, and focused on people my age (50+). This is the place. They keep me accountable and focused on staying in shape. Feels comfortable and never stressful. I highly recommend Core Principles.

I came to Core Principles because i needed a jump start to get stronger and feel better. I liked the small group approach. My plan was to give it a try for a month and I have been coming for 10 months!

I have been extremely happy with the program. I love that it changes during the week and after 4 weeks. The trainers are great and very helpful in making sure you are doing the movements properly. I feel much stronger and healthier. Great experience!

I started at Core Principles because I liked the personal attention and friendly atmosphere. Everyone here is very nice which makes me want to come. Dan, Pat and Haylin are the right mix of motivation and fun. The reason I stayed is that in the last 5 months I’ve gotten stronger, I am moving better, I can do things I haven’t done in years. Most important is that the exercises are challenging and modified to individual abilities. Which has allowed me to participate without risk of getting hurt.

As an avid but aging runner, I had to stop running about a year ago after a back injury. I tried everything from steroids to physical therapy to chiropractors and was considering steroid injections before I decided to bite the bullet and join Core semi private personal training. After 6 weeks, I am finally enjoying pain free days. The staff makes semi private feel like private--taking the time needed to help me build strength where I need it the way I need it. I am new to the idea of personal training--private or semi-private--and I am not a quick study. But there is NO JUDGEMENT and incredible patience with my learning curve. And while I still hope to dust off my running shoes one day, I think I might like these classes even more than running!

I joined Core Principles group training class a few months ago and this is one of the first fitness places I have stuck with. 1) the coaches push you through encouragement which really helps you reach your goals 2) the focus is on proper technique to ensure you are getting the most out of your workout and that you don't injure yourself. 3) Their is variety from class to class but consistency week to week which helps you see your personal gains throughout the month without getting bored. I can't recommend Core Principles enough if you are looking for a new place to train. You'll see the gains you are looking for and make some friends along the way!

This place does a good job of mixing up workouts so you're not going through the same mundane routine everyday. The trainers there also push you to make sure you're challenging yourself instead of going through the motions. They also cultivate a friendly and informative learning environment.

The professionals at Core Principals are in a class of their own when it comes to designing safe and effective workouts. They will teach you how to move better and incorporate exercise into your life, not expect you to change your life to accommodate the gym. They are smart, well-educated and most importantly they care about their clients. It is a welcoming, fun environment where you will look forward to spending time.

The semi-private sessions have been great. I feel the pronounced difference of getting structured advice ( always in a positive way ) & targeted training. Hopefully, i should be able to translate it to something tangible this spring/summer. Only a few good/nice suggestions from my point of view :
Integrate Yoga sessions into their program.
Have more sessions on Sat & Sun, keeping busy /city bound working ppl in mind.
Allow long term signup options & catch-up strategy in case of missed classes.

I have been trained by Core Principles for just over two years and have never experienced a team that is dedicated more to your well being and overall health and wellness. Haylin and his coaches have always been knowledable, kept safety in mind and have a good pulse on each clients goals.

I highly recommend the semi private training sessions for people of all abilities as each program is customized. You get plenty of 1:1 time in these sessions while also having a community feel with the other 1-3 people in your session.
