Awesome gym for going beyond just hard training. Technique, mobility, and a strategy for staying healthy are all main focal points here as well. That said, you'll also get in a great workout that will be tailored to what you can/should do.
It's been great to learn how to actually use kettlebells correctly with Kathleen and George. The workouts are excellent, but now I get to take that skill back home with me as well.

I found Fairfield Strength out of the interest of fixing my kettlebell swing. I felt commercial gyms near me trained with kettlebells, but did not give me enough assurance that my training would be safe due to the form I saw being performed. Anyhow, I ran into this place and was very impressed. My kettlebell swing improved from a form standpoint and from a strength one as well. I am swinging a kettlebell much heavier than I every thought I would have in about a month. Although that was not my main focus, it was a nice result. I trained under Kathleen, which was great as she was very knowledgable from the technique side, but also on how to teach as people progress through the training. She will immerse you in knowledge, but not without delivering it in a fashion you can’t remember what she said/taught. I suggest, if you are curious about trying/improving kettlebell training or any training in general, give Kathleen and George a try. They are great business owners, trainers, and overall amazing people!

I came across Fairfield Strength after many failed attempts at finding a gym that suited my needs/goals in the Fairfield/Norwalk area. I was totally hooked after doing an intro series with Kathleen. At Fairfield Strength, thoughtful attention is paid to physical limitations, while workouts remain challenging and personalized. You'll get a little bit of everything here - tailored mobility work, kettlebells, rowing, sled pushes, strength training, etc. The small class sizes are ideal and the space is clean and welcoming. Taking class at Fairfield Strength has become a non-negotiable part of my week as a busy PA student - I'm so thankful to have found this gem of a gym!

Kathleen is very well trained. she is conscientious about me as a client. She pushes me but knows my limits. Kathleen is always learning new and more about her profession. We have a great time together. As a woman in my 60s my goal is to get and stay strong. I'm not training for competition. this is perfect workout for me.

Fairfield Strength is a great place for both children and adults. My 9 year old has been going to the gym for several months now and loves it! The team at Fairfield Strength have shown her exercise can be good for you and fun - so much so, she asks when she can come back. Kathleen and George know how to work with kids of all ages and incorporate activities that they like to do while getting them moving and stronger. I can not recommend Fairfield Strength enough especially for those parents looking to get their kids more active.

My 1st grade son has some distractibility challenges. We haven't had him evaluated by a doctor but are fairly confident he probably has ADD or ADHD. He started going to Fairfield Strength after I spoke to George about his history of working with kids with similar backgrounds. We've definitely noticed improvements with length of focus and coordination with our son. He's been going for about a year now. Both George and Kathleen are great with him and do various drills ranging from soccer to memory games. Our son is always excited when it's time to go to the gym. I would highly recommend Fairfield Strength.

This is an amazing place with amazing people. I have big been looking for a training group to prepare me for a future in the military, and after a few months of training with them I’m reaching and exceeding minimum scores needed for what I want to do in the military. Their training methods focus on proper preparation, injury mitigation, and doing exactly what is needed at exactly the right times. The best training available for the tactical athlete.

Fairfield Strength is awesome. They’ve done a great job of understanding my young children’s physical fitness goals- age 9 and 7- and putting a custom plan that is safe, age appropriate and fun for each child. They are teaching them the right fundamentals of strength training and movement skills for all sports while also making it fun at the same time. Each week my children ask when they can come back to see Coach George and Kathleen and play! I highly recommend them!

My son is doing this "six pack" and what was meant to be a trial has turned into him asking if he can do it all the time! He not only loves the instructors but he is learning so much about proper form, health and how the mind and body are connected. I love how each session builds on the next in a safe and practical way, introducing him to things he would never have tried on his own, and providing variety. These guys really care about the individual and have been so easy to work with i terms of scheduling. I think these sessions are a real confidence booster, especially for the nonathletic type!

This gym is awesome. The Gomola’s have treated me like family since I’ve started at the gym around a year ago. This keeps me coming back and I have seen a great positive change in my strength.

Second to none training facility and training programs. As a military member looking to advance my career, George and Kathleen have given their all to prep me and prepare me both mentally and physically to the highest levels possible. Pursuing success is surrounding achieved by surrounding yourself with like minded and driven individuals, and this is the place to do just that. No one trains like they do, and no one achieves results as quickly or as effectively either. This is the place to be.

George and Kathleen have been miracle workers for me. I began training at their gym after a bad car accident in which I broke my femur and consequently had George pull me out of my totaled car at the scene of the accident. As a 29 year old man in decent shape I quickly began thinking id never get back into shape or have my strength back. Within the personalized training I've received from both George and Kathleen, I am now far past my previous training regimen before the accident and now in the best shape of my life . These people care about training the right way and avoiding injuries while overcoming physical goals every week. I owe them everything and recommend them to everyone , whether you are very out of shape , just looking to stay in shape, or even train for extreme physical tasks such as navy seal goals . The best around.

As a young athlete I have trained in many facilities, with various coaches but none compared to Fairfield Strength. Besides having the best equipment necessary for self improvement, the coaches are experts who offer a wealth of knowledge and maximize each individuals health and fitness goals in a personalized way.

Joe and I met George at Black Rock Kettle Bells where he started us on program that we had never imagined. Every session began with Z Health which is a program designed as a preparation for exercise. I found this to be so effective that I practice it every day. Z was then followed by TRX and Kettle Bell training. A great program for all classifications of athletes.
Last year I had spinal fusion surgery. I spent time not feeling like moving and feeling sorry for myself. Joe suggested that I go to Fairfield Strength. I can not thank Kathleen and George enough for all of their help. My doctors were so impressed by my progress that they asked for information about Kaatsu which is a part of the program at Fairfield Strength ....strength for recovery and strength for all levels of athleticism.

I started at Fairfield Strength as a former college water polo player. It had been about a year since I played in college and I had fallen out of shape. George and Kathleen were incredible at both teaching me the proper form of all the different kettle bell exercises, but also constantly coming up with awesome workouts.
One of the great things about Fairfield Strength is that you don't have to have an athletic background to go and begin improving your own shape! Through my NCAA career I worked with many trainers, but none were as knowledgeable as George and Kathleen! Not only did they give me some awesome workouts, but I learned a ton about joint mobility and joint preservation. George and Kathleen's knowledge of strength and joint mobility issues are just one of many reasons that I think Fairfield Strength is an awesome gym no matter your background!

Chief Gomola and Kathleen are the best!! I took a firefighter/tactical athlete training program with them, as well as some extra training sessions, and they exceeded my expectations! I've never done any sort of formal kettlebell training until this program, and now I add it into my regular workouts! They strive to make each student feel comfortable and welcome! Chief and Kathleen don't set generic standards for everyone...their goal is to see their students make progress! I've had my fair share of personal trainers in the past, but none have compared to Kathleen and Chief! Fairfield strength has a very family-like atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend it!

First I would like to Kathleen and George are amazing!! I travel for work and I happen to come across their gym when looking for a place that trains with kettlebells. Kathleen and George are not only great instructors, but wonderful people in general! I took a firefighter academy prep class with them that not only pushed me physically, but mentally as well. After being introduced to hard-style kettlebell training, I am eager to incorporate kettlebells into my gym routine and to learn more about them. Both Kathleen and George are extremely in-tune with proper technique and form. They both know how to juggle group sessions that are comprised of athletes at different levels or with specific restrictions, which is something I truly appreciate in a coach! I look forward to training with them both in the future!

I can't say enough about Chief Gomola, Kathleen, and Fairfield Strength. Their attention to detail is unmatched, and are very cognizant to ensure there is very little risk of injury. It's clear that they are passionate about what they do, and care about their clients not only as athletes, but also as people. I'm very appreciative of my time spent learning various kettlebell techniques from them. Workouts are challenging, but also enjoyable. I leave every session feeling as though I've accomplished something, and have Kathleen and Chief Gomola to thank for that!

I've been training with George and Kathleen for almost 2 years and I highly recommend them. Training is fun and challenging. Each session is different and specifically planned to meet the needs and abilities of each participant. More important, George and Kathleen make sure PROPER TECHNIQUE is taught and learned before ANYTHING is done. Once learned, they do a great job monitoring each person's technique and make corrections/adjustments as needed. Prior to joining Fairfield Strength, I worked with trainers at another gym in Fairfield, where poor teaching/monitoring of technique led to injuries to my neck, shoulder, back and, eventually, lower back surgery. I joined Fairfield Strength just several months after the surgery and I've been very happy with the results of the training. No injuries....just stronger and feeling great!

Working with Chief Gomola and Kathleen has been incredible. Not only are they top notch instructors, they are wonderful people as well. As someone who is completely new to kettlebell training, they worked with me to ensure good form/technique because they understand the importance of preventing injury and longevity of training. The workouts are intense enough to give you an amazing workout but not leave you dead at the end. I have a newfound respect for kettlebell training because of Chief Gomola and Kathleen and couldn't recommend Fairfield Strength enough.

I have used a few different trainers at local clubs and ended up with injuries. While Kathleen and George push you, they do it in a safe and healthy way. You get a great workout, you may be sore the next morning but in the right places, not the knees or back. It’s been a great experience, I highly recommend Fairfield Strength

Fairfield Strength has done wonders for my son, he started at age 17. His goal was to increase strength, muscle mass, & stamina. Kathleen and George’s experience and knowledge were hands down the best we’ve encountered. Through multiple styles of exercise, tailored specifically to him; kettlebell, TRX, KAATSU and Z- training, he achieved this. Their approach to whole body & person is comprehensive and individualised, something we found lacking in other training facilities. Added benefits were increased focus and attention in school, a great perk! Two years strong and we’re still loyal members, couldn’t imagine training elsewhere!

As a former college lacrosse player I have found that Fairfield Strength's approach to elite strength and performance training is hands down the most effective in elevating performance and achieving any individual goals. Chief Gomola and Kathleen's extensive training experience and knowledge has not only helped me recover from shoulder and knee injuries, but allowed me to become faster, stronger, and more athletic than I have ever been.
Anyone looking to take their training to the next level should seriously consider Fairfield Strength. Whether you are young or old, in shape or looking for a lifestyle change, Chief Gomola and Kathleen will personalize your experience to fit your needs and goals. You will often hear them preach about "Training Smart." Every training session will be done with a purpose and intensity. It's not about working out to beat yourself down, but preforming movements to bring you closer to your goals.
Thanks Chief and Kathleen!
