My husband and I could not have asked for a better dance teacher than Zlata at Fred Astaire Dance Studio when learning a first dance for our wedding! We came in knowing essentially nothing about dance or what we wanted out of a first dance and left after just a few weeks with a whole routine that we felt confident about and received rave reviews from our guests! Zlata was so patient and encouraging throughout the whole process - she so quickly understood our strengths and weakness and was so much fun to be around. We hope to be back soon to learn a new dance - maybe for our one year anniversary!

I walked through the doors of FADS Southbury for the first time in January 2024 and was immediately welcomed with smiles and a sense of support from the fantastic instructors. As a dance student for years, I had never taken a ballroom class before, and at first, I was questioning myself. But by May, I was participating in my very first competition! From there, I was hooked, and I continued on to compete in Team matches and Nationals.

We had an amazing time learning the rumba for our first dance with Diana Z. She is very very talented and a great teacher. We are super excited for what we prepared. We highly recommend taking some lessons if you are on the fence. Diana is amazing at sharing the reasons why you are getting stuck on a move when learning. She solves the issue making the moves more natural and isolates 'problem transitions ' to help you. I can't believe 10 lessons ago we were tripping over our feet to a simple beat. It feels really good to have some technical skills to apply to something we enjoy. Definitely returning after the wedding !

I have been a student at this Studio going on 9 years now.
The studio is gorgeous and the instuctors are A++. Not only do I feel more confident about myself, I have made great friends along the way. We also do a lot of social dancing around CT. We often get complimented on our dancing. I originally signed up to take lessons with my boyfriend for my daughters wedding. I wanted to be able to dance with confidence and enjoy her special day. We immediately knew that we chose the right studio and were hooked on Ballroom Dancing.. Weather you are looking to take lessons to social dance or have a dance choreographed for the special occasion, you will not be disappointed. We like to go to their Dance Party's on Friday nights. We always have fun and I find it beneficial for my mind and my body.

What a great experience! My brother and I took private lessons with Ihor. He is so patient, fun, and knowledgeable. The staff is so friendly. We were complete novices and felt comfortable messing up and learning. Our instructor would have us record ourselves performing the new skills we learned so that we could practice in between our private sessions. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to learn a new skill, bond with a loved one, rehearse a performance for a special day, or simply have fun!

My girlfriend and I came across the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Southbury via a Groupon deal – she had the desire to take ballroom dance lessons for a while and I just wanted to learn how to not look like a fool dancing at parties. Throughout the year that we’ve been taking lessons, we’ve learned so much and met so many amazing people in the process. My boyfriend and I signed up for ballroom dance lessons at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Southbury after purchasing a Groupon deal. I somewhat reluctantly let my wife talk me into signing up for some introductory Ball Room Dancing lessons at the Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Southbury, CT this past August. We are now 5 months in and we are both hooked for life and loving it! We are doing the Tango, Salsa, Foxtrot, Rumba, Merengue, Cha Cha, Mambo, Swing, Hustle, Waltz, Sambo and more. The instructors are some of the most professional, fun and friendly people I've ever met. My only regret is that we didn't sign up sooner! I highly recommend these guys!

I discovered ballroom dance at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Southbury three years ago and my life has changed in the most fabulous way. Christian and Paulo, the owners are passionate about dance and their student's desire to dance. The instructors here are some of the best in New England. The studio is fun and dynamic. The dance parties on Friday are great !! The studio is beautiful and the people I have met here will be lifelong friends. I positively recommend Fred Astaire Southbury as a place to learn the thrill of Ballroom dancing !!
