I wanted to love it here but this place is FILTHY all of the machines have a layer of dust on them especially upstairs. Half of the dispensers with disinfectant wipes are either empty or dried out. And even so the wipes dry out by the time you try to use them Liz I really question the sanitation at this place and do not care to risk it. Especially for the price they make you pay to be a member it should be spotless with spray bottles that actually sanitize

Charging money to sign up for Silver Sneakers which is funded by Medicare plans. Avoid this place if you're trying to find a gym to use with your insurance. Plenty of others that don't charge when you show your silver sneakers membership.

I’ve been going to this gym after school nd there’s always a guy recording in the changing room and I’ve been feeling uncomfortable changing while he’s recording recording non stop, I understand for content, but recording in the bathroom while people are changing just isn’t right. I don’t even know if it’s legal.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention some potential dangers I've found within this club. Be careful. I've found rusty razor blades, loose machine bolts, bug infestation, unknown pills scattered about in the locker room, vehicles impeding fire exits, etc.

When I mentioned these things I was made to feel victim blamed.
Friends and family of employees take precedence in the gym and I was openly mocked between management and a member due to exhibiting an injury I suffered during wartime military service.

On another note, there is cheap fast food places next to it if you're interested.
The reference number, if needed, for the Bristol Health Dept. complaint is:

One star is more than this place deserves. I signed up for a membership before GF even opened. They offered a full pool where my girlfriend and I jumped at the opportunity. Then they open and come to find out the pool isn't even in service. 4 months go by of them charging full boat pricing for half of the amenities and we choose not to complain. June of 2025 rolls around and my girlfriend and I were moving to Hamden, so we decided to cancel our memberships. I was told they had to get it approved through management several times. Never heard back from them. Got charged some maintenance fee and a full membership fee which i noticed in october during a meeting with m financial advisor and decided to call. All of a sudden they required proof that i moved farther than 25 miles away to be able to cancel my membership? Are you serious? I asked them to return my funds from august till October which wasn't even asking for the full return of the other 2 months I didn't use the facilities. Gage took a week to get back to me to tell me they "do not have record of me calling before October" and "You must have been talking to the front desk but all cancellations must be through management" he also tells me "You paid your last month so we can cancel your membership without fee" like that would actually make a difference. I suggest you do not sign one of their sheister contracts before actually reading the fine print which is "We will charge you regardless of how shit our facilities are"

I'd also like to state that they also do not have an "olympic sized pool" Its got 4 lanes and not even close to olympic length.

UPDATE: I spoke with Gage(sorry if misspelled), who I believe is the manager. He has been very personable and super proactive! So far he has added more kettlebells have to each turf area, the gym floor has been cleaned as well reorganized throughout the day(though it would be nice if members picked up after themselves so they wouldn’t have to). From my understanding he is also working on getting some SkiErgs and Assault/Echo bikes.

It’s refreshing to have someone take feedback and not only implement immediate changes, but to be so understanding without taking offense. If any current members have any concerns, I highly recommend reaching out to Gage for resolution.

————

I’ll start off with some positives- the staff I’ve encountered is extremely friendly, the gym itself is very spacious and is not nearly as busy as the other local gyms, there is large variety of machines, each locker room has a sauna, and they offer month-to-month no contract membership.

The negatives for me: the gym itself and locker rooms are very dirty and unorganized. It seems other member don’t pick up after themselves or put things back where they belong. This is typical at gyms but it appears the staff doesn’t clean up throughout the day. The women’s bathroom is especially grimey, I believe primarily because of the pool. There are two very small turf areas and there is a lack of some functional training equipment: hardly any kettlebells and very few bands. To add, there are also no echo/assault bikes and most of their cardio equipment is old. I personally don’t use many weight/cable machines so if you’re like me you may be disappointed. Also, there is a trainer who ropes off one of the two small turf areas making it it impossible to get to any of the few kettlebells, foam rollers, etc. As a paying member this is extremely frustrating.

Overall GF has a lot of potential but as of right now I plan to cancel once my contract is up unless some changes are made.

Have bought day passes here before. Come on Labor Day to buy a day pass and the front desk worker was hesitant to accept my money. Called her manager over and he basically said no we don’t want your money, we don’t do day passes here. Membership only. Day passes are for people that are coming out of state, we need to see your ID to see where you live if you want a day pass.

It isn’t that serious, it’s a gym dude. Lol. Let me pay for a day pass, workout and that’ll be it. Didn’t realize you needed Homeland Security approval to workout.

Best gym especially if you hate waiting 20 minutes to use a machine. The "other" gym that shall remain unarmed. No parking available and super, super elbow to elbow crowded. GF is the place to go! They're not a corporate corrupt price gouging gym. They have a lot to offer. People. This is a place you can workout no matter your body type. Fitness level, experience. Highly recommend! Those "other" gyms that charge pocket change for monthly fees. Just a way to dominate the market by getting the monopoly. Closing down great gyms like these. Besides there's only a $20 -/+ difference between the two a month. It cost 14 million dollars to build this gym. Play definitely made a good investment. What's the best gym in town in fact I'm including even the surrounding towns.

Been lifting for 30 years and at one time or another have been a member at every gym in the area.
This is hands down the best gym around. The front desk and management are extremely welcoming.
There's tons of great equipment not found in other gyms. Free weight area is exceptional as well.
My wife and daughter also love the yoga and spinning classes. And the sauna.
Only reason I didn't add a review sooner is because I don't want word getting around about how great this gym is.
And the price is very reasonable for everything you get.
My only pet peeve would be people not racking their dumbbells. Happens quite often but not the end of the world.
My family and I are very happy to have found this gym.

Good Gym, but the tanning bulbs need to be changed. You’re just wasting electricity. I was gonna sign for the tans and I asked this lady how they are. She said the bulbs are dead.. oh well..
Gym is great

GF you need to seriously post etiquette rules for this gym. There is no reason for people to use a bench, then put all their personal belongings on another. People on treadmills having full conversations on their phone so it can be clearly heard. People filming in the gym, and the list goes on.

Just joined this gym a couple days ago and already had a bad experience. I’m on the month-to-month plan, and when I walked in the other night, I accidentally scanned my old membership tag without realizing. The guy working (who I think was closing) yelled out loud at me in a rude tone like, “YO YO your membership is expired.” I told him, “my bad bro, didn’t realize,” and scanned my current tag. Then, in front of everyone, he says loud and disrespectfully, “You got 28 days left!” Like… I just signed up 2 days ago what was the point of saying that?

I called the gym after to file a complaint and, of course, no one got back to me. Most of the front desk staff are rude and don’t seem to care, except for one lady who’s actually respectful.

Wouldn’t recommend this gym at all. Terrible customer service and zero professionalism.

The night shift staff was extremely rude no greeting when we walked in, just attitude the whole time. We didn’t realize the gym closed at 12 AM, and instead of politely informing us, she rushed us out with a bad attitude and left right at 12 on the dot. She’s clearly not sincere about her job. To make it worse, as soon as she left, she started smoking weed!!!!. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Would not recommend this gym at all!

Great gym! A lot of equipment and for the most part very clean. I’m not from the area so it was refreshing to go into a new gym with a lot of variation. However, I tried to go in again and was more than willing to pay for a day pass because I already used the one day free trial and they said that I wasn’t able to because of “management”. Personally, I think it would be better to offer day passes for people who are out of town and would love to experience a different gym. Safe to say I won’t be going again.

I won't join now after seeing these reviews. I expected the gym to be refurbished to brand new and sparkling clean as Esporta needed a lot of work. Did I read Silver Sneakers members have to pay extra to use the pool ? Are you serious?

*** I did not realize that I got a reply from the owner of this business. In the first sentence they advised the records show I was never a member there. That's a good way to make it sound like this review was bogus.***In fact I was a member there for over 2 years so I don't know why that comment was made.Maybe check again

I joined right after Thanksgiving. I have always had challenges staying with a program and my weight had ballooned as a result. I was determined this time would be different. Since joining, I’ve not only lost weight, but I’ve become stronger and more flexible, due in no small part to Robert, with whom I’m doing personal training, as well as taking the yoga classes he teaches that are offered in the evenings. I’ve also started doing the AquaFit classes with Sonja on the weekends. Doing those on a Saturday morning, followed by some time in the hot tub and sauna, is truly like a spa experience.

As someone who works full time during the day, these evening classes, especially the yoga, have been invaluable to me, and have helped to keep me motivated to keep coming.

Everyone is so friendly and nice, and very welcoming. I truly love it here!

Update: I have been going to the gym for 4 months now. I am very happy with the services. It is nice to come in and be greeted warmly especially by Sherri. She has answered all my questions and helped me with any concerns. Sherri follows through with membership info quickly and effectively. She makes me feel valued and at home each time I come in and she greets me by name. Sherri is definitely a great asset to the gym and one can see the members are important to her.
The gym is clean and well maintaine classes offered and the equipment is new and varied. Robert is an excellent and knowledgeable trainer and has already helped me improve my physical and mental outlook on my health and wellness.

Trainers won’t rack their own weights and or equipment… I took a break from coming here to see if anything would change. First day back, nothing has changed. Locked into a year contract at this place as well. Terrible, ironically they delete the bad reviews and keep the good ones. Instead of dealing with the issues here.

Looking for feedback from owner. I never received a response to the update I submitted in November (see below). Main take aways:

* Bring back Kickboxing
* Post class schedule on-line
* Keep evening & weekend classes
_______________________
REVISED REVIEW
(November 2024)
Although, I still give GF Fitness (Bristol) 5 Stars, there are a few points to mention:

* I have been taking 3 classes per week since the gym opened. I work full-time, so need evening and weekend classes. I was not thrilled with the schedule change that took place effective November 1st, but adapted accordingly. I was happy to see the classes I take were still listed (Robert's evening and weekend classes).

* I was greatly disappointed the Kickboxing class was omitted (see my post below). With a little effort and promotion, this class would have gotten good attendance. It was by far the best workout class I've ever taken.

* There should be better media presence of what this gym offers. The page on Instagram is fine, but there really should be a Facebook page and a better gym website (for the Bristol location). Post the schedule of classes and invite people to try them out.

* The number 1 reason I joined this gym and encouraged other family members and friends to also join, was due to the class schedule. If the schedule continues to keep changing, or my flavored evening and weekend classes dropped (i.e., Kickboxing), I will have to reconsider my membership.

The classes at GF Fitness Bristol are fantastic. I especially enjoy the ones Robert teaches. He is a superb instructor that gives a challenge, while also making sure correct form is followed. This has renewed my commitment to Fitness. I have taken 3 classes per week, different types and can already see a positive improvement. Kickboxing on Saturday is a great, overall workout. Highly recommend it. 5 Stars from me!

Can you add early morning classes for those who like to workout before work. This is the NE and we typically have to be at work for 7 or 8am. I heard The Edge has them. You need to make GF more like the rest of the local gyms. Other than that I am enjoying the team you have and the types of classes. Maybe offer more kick boxing classes too!

I'm new to GF and so far I'm really liking this gym!! I'm especially enjoying the classes I've taken so far: Pilates with Gale and Yoga with Robert. I have never had such a bad experience trying to sign up for this gym. They would only accept my Renew Active membership with an additional $25 a month fee. In addition they wanted a $20 sign up fee and an annual fee of $59 for equipment. Yet they accepted others without any additional fee. I went there twice and was told the same thing. There are many gyms in the area that accept Renew Active. I don’t need to go to this one.

First off, I’m giving you five stars because of the classes and the instructors here! Gale and Keri and Robert are amazing! However I have a huge issue with you not having your schedule online! What gyms don’t have their schedule online! I came all the way over here for a class today only to find out that it was canceled. I could’ve found that out online but you don’t have your schedule online. Last week I went to take a class only to find out that the class had been changed to something else and there was a new schedule. I really need to have a schedule online that I can go to and check otherwise I’m just going to find other gyms that do have schedules online because I don’t have time to drive all the way across town or make phone calls every week to find out what’s going on! Thank you for listening!

Nice gym, love all of the classes, especially the convenience of the evening classes. Robert is a great instructor for the yoga have taken Lanies body toning classes and Sonia‘s total body classes love all of them. yoga classes, especially for my back issues feels great taking the 630 and 7 o’clock classes after a long day of work. Things I don’t like about the gym is I don’t like that. The schedule for classes keeps changing. I wish it would just stay the same. I also wish that there was a Facebook page where they can go ahead and post the calendar if there is changes again in the near future. But all in all great place to work out. I joined GF for the classes and the pool. The facility and staff are amazing. A hidden gem. However I am disappointed in the lack of early morning classes 8:30 ish. When it was LA the classes were early and full. Body Works, Pilates etc. with Gale. If we could bring those back and Gale that would definitely increase membership. Also, the water aerobics with Sonia are great but again, there is nothing scheduled early morning during the week. Hopefully this will change in the very near future.

*update and summary: They've improved and as of the beginning of October, the pool is open(though only 4.5 ft deep at the most). It has potential to be great but still has a way to go. Right now my favorite part of the gym is what they desperately want to change: a lack of other people*

Full review with updates below:
Today 7/29 was the grand opening. This date was 2 weeks later than the date range given to open when I signed up beginning of July. That date range was 2 weeks later than another customer I spoke with was given when they signed in June. I get delays happen, but with repeated delays I would expect the facility in better shape than it was in. I had to pay for an extra month at my other gym due to their delays. I’m currently paying over 3x my previous gym membership here without any additional amenities that I have any desire to make use of.

They still have to finish building and installing some elements. It will be a work in progress, but currently I am dissatisfied and my review will reflect that. I will be happy to update this once things are finished.

At the time of this review, all I can say is I very much can tell there were previously bankrupt/failed gym facilities in that location. Several signs still said LA fitness which was I believe was 2 gym companies ago in that location(EDIT* these were mostly torn down after this posting. Now it’s a fun game for me of seeing how long till they realize they still have at least 1 up). As I looked out from the upper cardio deck over the weight floor, all I could focus on were the marks of previous equipment placement on the floor. Many obvious equipment hand me downs of older facilities with rust and an oily residue on them, that I would think was from poor storage since whenever they last actually had cleaning and maintenance(they told me this residue was due to the heavy duty cleaner they used). They could definitely use a few more wipe stations around as even first day I feel I need to wipe them down before and after use(first time I’ve seen a gym sell advertisement space on wipe stations though. Maybe that’s the reason why the numbers limited? Can’t sell something for premium prices unless quantities are limited after all.). Airflow on the workout floor is not ideal and they should contemplate more fans to circulate the air as it feels stagnant. Maybe it’s intentional? As I seemed to be sweating a bit more despite it being cool and rainy outside.(*EDIT they added in more wipe stations though the fact they advertise products they do not offer personally seems very tacky to me. The HVAC issues apparently have to do with the previous place taking the computer as proprietary information, but these are still problems that should have been identified and addressed prior to opening.)

Their big selling point for me is a pool and hot tub which of course was down opening day. Expected to be operational sometime in the next week. (*EDIT as of 8/12 neither pool nor hot tub have opened yet. The sauna was also down for a few days to replace a part less than 2 weeks in) The benches in the men’s sauna(which when getting a tour when signing up I was told would be completely redone and another selling point for me) looked like animals had chewed on them at some point. Very real possibility of splinters there. And the showerheads(if you can call them that, more like a spigot) have next to no water pressure or spread.

On a few positive notes they do have a large space. I hear from other customers they are improved vs the previous gyms in that location. Right now I can only say I am disappointed and feeling like a victim of the old bait and switch. However, I do repose the question I asked the manager. When can I expect:
A) Better
B) The level of expectation set when I signed up.

I had been training with Yoga Bob for the past few months with hopes to get "dress ready" for my sons wedding that happened this past week. I have to say I felt very confident wearing my sleeveless fitted dress and received many compliments about my fitness level. Robert did a great job in keeping me on track and pushing me to my potential. He has a very relaxed style which immediately puts you at ease. However, relaxed doesn't mean he won't push you... the sessions are challenging in a way that allows you to make great progress every week.
He has worked with me twice a week, I attend his Yoga/ Pilates classes, and follow his advice "homework" with that I'm noticing lots of positive physical changes, Best of all, we have many great laughs!
My original goal was to be wedding ready and now it is to continue this journey to be a confident, healthier, stronger Me! Thank you Robert I look forward to more challenging workouts in the future. ..Elisa M

I have been going to a few classes at this facility. Specifically, Yoga with Robert. I have not done yoga in several years. Robert is knowledgeable, professional and cares about the students in his classes. He is always checking to be sure the moves are done correctly and will assist you if not. I am enjoying these yoga classes and very comfortable in the classes

Sonia is another trainer I enjoy. For the same reasons as above. She makes you feel comfortable in her classes and making the training fun.

I was told that I would be charged one price when I signed up. Which I was charged the first month but now they decide to charge me a different price and when I call they say it’s tax. Nothing in my agreement says anything about tax by the way.

This gym has been nothing but issues since I signed up. I chose to sign up with a new gym and took a tour with Dan. During that tour I had asked about pricing, processing fees, sign up fees, gym fees, etc that I may be subject to as I’ve had hidden fees similarly hidden from me in the past. During that tour Dan had informed me that there was no sign up fee, the first month was $1 and that was it. When the first charge occurred on 06/05/24 it was for a total of $78. Which I was informed by Dan over the phone was a break down of the first AND last month fee, as well as a $20 processing fee. I then reminded Dan of the $1 for the first month and the explicit confirmation of Dan telling me there were no processing fees, sign up fees, and gym fees. He refunded me the total of $78 but expressed that he would have to charge me $1 and the first month for a total of $30. I understood and took that as a one time misunderstanding. Unfortunately it is no longer a misunderstanding, but rather gross negligence on Dan’s part. The second occurrence happened today when a charge of $65.99 appeared. I inquired about the charge and was informed it was a maintenance fee, which again was not disclosed at signing. There are a few honorable mentions as well. The gym did not officially release open until July 29th. My first monthly membership charge was on 6/5/24 (then refunded and recharged as $30 on 07/03/24). I paid for a month that the gym was not at all open. I could understand a prorated fee for the 3 total days they were open in July but that was not the case. Additionally, the monthly charges have occurred at very different times in the month. There is not consistency to the payment due date at this time. I am also not provided with monthly invoices which in my opinion should be mailed OR emailed to each member. Lastly I have requested a copy of my contract for my records 3 times and have had the question specifically ignored in any email request that has been sent to this gym. At signing the contract I was presented with was extremely blurry and illegible (I also fully recognize I should have asked for a clear copy to sign and to receive a signed copy then). I had high hopes for this gym quite honestly. They have a good facility, equipment, but the billing errors, lack of transparency, and significant lack of appropriate business practice make this gym the worst fitness location/center I have ever been a member of. Seeing very similar negative reviews of this gym is disheartening and you should not take them lightly. Typically I hate to leave bad reviews for a business, especially new, but in this case the willful negligence of Dan and his misinformation needs to be shared to provide a fair warning of what you are to experience (or not). As long as you read my warning and make an informed decision that works for you, I hope you get what you are looking for.

Equipment is good and front desk staff is nice however the pool hasn't been open since they opened. I shouldnt have to pay for a service im not receiving. Also , this is minor but goes to how the sales staff operates and how the place is run, when we signed up we were supposed to get a free shirt but we're told they ran out, inquired about it a month later an was given an excuse about not knowing they needed more and hang tight a little longer we will get them to you but never even asked my name. This place is very poorly run. So far the biggest positive I can say about it is that there's hardly anyone ever there

I was trying to find something comparable to esporta after they closed and was disappointed with the various other options around.

I was very excited to hear GF Fitness moving into the old esporta location. They seemingly took everything that was good about esporta and made it even better, and cleaner. The expansive weight area and various options for cardio set this gym aside from any others in the area.

Sue, who helped me sign up was amazing. She offered to show me around and went thru all the new and great things the gym has to offer. Ask for Sue if you are signing up and you will surely have a great experience!

I have had hip pain from a tight psoas muscle for more than two years. PT, yoga, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, red light therapy, nothing has helped. In two weeks, working with ROBERT has helped me stand up straight and walk without pain. I am thrilled with this gym and beyond thankful for his dedication.

I’ve been a member of the gym since they opened and have been so happy here! I love the amount of space, additional amenities, and diversity of equipment. I even asked about a hip thrust machine and it was already ordered and on the way! They definitely thought of it all when it comes to equipment and they continue to make improvements, which is great for a new gym. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming! I’ve also trained with Bob and he’s an amazing personal trainer. Extremely professional, really experienced and has helped me reach my fitness goals. I can’t recommend him enough if you’re looking for personal training.

Reading the poor reviews made me chuckle. People love looking for any reason to complain. As an ex PT and fitness coach, I’ve been to many gyms and can confidently say this is one of the better gyms I’ve belonged to. From a purely fitness standpoint, this gym has a wide range of machines and free weights, a variety of class options included in your membership, enough equipment to ensure you’re not waiting for anything to become available, and it’s very clean and well kept. In addition, I’d like to add that as a mother, I LOVE that their childcare is a set monthly fee compared to having to pay per visit like most (if not all) other gyms that offer childcare. The staff is also very friendly. As for those complaining about feeling pressured into signing a contract, what are your expectations? Their job is to explain why this facility is worth your money and sell memberships. Their sales team is effective at their job in a tasteful way. There was about 2 months between my first inquiry and the day I signed up, and I was never harassed or bombarded with phone calls like The 3dg3 does. Anyways, all of this to say that I love this place.

I've taken a few classes since they've opened. So far my favorites are Monday 5:30pm Spin w/ Cheryl. The class has good energy and she puts together a diverse playlist! As well as Yoga Bob's Thursday 6:30pm and weekend mornings Yoga and Pilates classes. He's very informative and cares about what he's teaching. I can't speak to any of the morning weekday classes but... I've heard they were good as well. Gym floor is clean, equipment works, staff is alright, polite and attentive for the most part. A couple snobby attitudes but they don't ruin the bunch! Everyone else is great. I had a couple friends that wanted to come and try it out. They declined to move forward due to the "free trial" on the website listed not truly being free; the process seemed a lil sketch so they just left. Then when they received calls to sign up the person was very aggressive. Sure, I get it you need to get people in the door and then to actually sign up. I would suggest making the free trial really a free trial no hidden fee when you show up and then if people decide it's not for them be gracious about it, hey they may come back just because of the friendly atmosphere. I do like that it's not crowded. Things may pick up in while, The location is easy to get to; You don't have to pay extra for classes or other activities; You do not have to pre-register for a class before-hand and there's no wait for weights/machines.

I think these guys at GF Fitness did a great job getting this gym back in order in such a short period of time considering what they were left with by the previous tenant. They are still working on some things but what they've done so far is outstanding. The staff is friendly, helpful and keeps the place clean. Sue is vey courteous while helping all members and assisting with any questions they may have. You'd also be hard pressed to find better equipment at another gym with such a good atmosphere.

Worst gym in the area. Do not sign up I know multiple people who have been scammed. The manager Dan is rude and money hungry. Think twice before signing a contract because he makes it extremely hard to cancel. Prices tend to be made up and my friends have been overcharged from what they were originally quoted. You aren’t missing out trust me. None of the workers were properly trained and can never answer any questions. SKETCHY! To say the least.

I went there a week before opening and the guy named Dan instead of showing me the place he was pushing me to get into a contract. He was very insistant and really annoying. Today I called back and asked for a free trial and he told me that he can only give me a free trial if I signed a contract.

This is really bad business treating people like this and pressuring them to sign into a contract. I wouldn't go there, you can tell they only care about money. With the way they are doing business they would end up like the previous two gyms closing down too.

Be aware of this and read the rewiews before stepping there. They are trying to rip people off. 👎🏼

Best Gym around compared to all the other gyms in the area. The equipment they have I never seen at any other gym. The owner is such a nice guy to talk to and he really interacts with all the members. The gym is still in the process of being completed, once it is done it’s going to exceptional. I can spend hours here each day between doing a workout, cardio, tanning, pickle ball , boxing, pool, and hot tub.

Lots of things in life are subjective so I'll let everyone have their own review but let me give you the one that you're really looking for here. GF has to be the best gym I've ever been to in CT hands down. It's spacious, it's clean, and it's stocked with so much equipment that I would bet there's some you've never even seen before.

A lot of this equipment is NEW. The full tour I got explained that clearly and visually I would agree. Yes, there is some older equipment they kept from the previous gym (your average chain gym machines, still nice) but there are a lot of brand-new upgrades here and the gym looks great. Some renovations are indeed still being done (not in any main workout area by the way) but it's only going to make it even better than it already is.

There is literally no workout you cannot do in this space. Powerlifting benches, squat racks with weightlifting platforms, turf spots, cardio equipment, the treadmills on the second floor are brand new. The free weight and upper body space is perfect, I can't see you ever waiting to use something. There is just so much.

Membership seems like a standard gym membership to me. People have their own personal experiences and opinions that's just how it goes everywhere. In terms of just a gym alone if you have ever been to more than 1 chain facility, I cannot see why you wouldn't agree that this is leagues above the rest. The pool, sauna, pickleball, racquetball, spinning, studio room for classes, are EXTRAS. You sign up for a gym and compared to every other chain GF is definitely winning.

The best gym around in Bristol. The progress that this gym has made over the past couple months of taking ownerships from Esporta is incredible. There is still things that they are renovating, people need to be patient. The staff that works there is helpful and attentive to the members. As far, as the equipment they have awesome machines that I never seen anywhere else. Go check it out for yourself! They have tanning beds, saunas, pickleball, and racquet ball, so much to offer!

No stars. I joined as a silver sneakers and accepted the $25 extra charge for pball/pool. I returned to cancel the extra charge (the pball court is too short) and GF informed me the extra charge was now mandatory with SS. I pointed out I had joined before that decision had been made and was told I had to rejoin with the mandatory $25 fee. Apparently a decision to add this fee had been made the night before. Will go elsewhere, particularly for pball as the court is actually dangerous to play on. Check it out. 8-4-24 In response to the owner who replied, I hope this is not the gentleman at the front desk who made this all so difficulty. There is no point pursuing my issues with him. As far as the pball court, the danger I speak of is the actual set up. There is a tiny space in back of the serve line in which to serve or return a serve. No real pball player can do either within the limits of this area. Hitting the back wall with a hand or even worse, another part of your body could result in injury, and a normal serve would result in hitting the back wall. As far as my main complaint, if someone would be willing to waive the extra fee I was suddenly being made to pay I would reconsider joining. But the person with whom I dealt seemed adamant that this could not be done, and judging from the most recent post on extra fees, I am even more wary.

Beware when signing up with this Gym, the lady told me my first month would be a dollar and I only paid for the last month and a $20 processing fee

Then they hit me with an annual fee literally 30 days later which they pushed out to another 30 days and did give me a free month when I complained about it but had I not complained I would have been paying over $120 to join within the same 30 day.

Also, the pool in the hot tub are still not working after they keep saying soon

Last the lady told me I can bring people sometimes just not all the time but I found out you still have to pay a $10 fee for any new person that wants to join. They call it a barcode fee and the pass is only good for three days after that, they have to get a membership.

The way they make it sound is like you can bring people once in a while but that is not the case at all you will have to either do that or pay $15 a day

Suggestion to Owner or management charge an extra $10-$20 for a premium membership that allows you to bring people because most gyms like Planet Fitness and LA Fitness allow you to pay a premium to bring somebody most people don’t like working out alone

I will be canceling my membership as this was not what I expected between the annual fee and not being able to bring somebody
