5 star is the highest but if I could I would give gold fish of Manchester 10 stars. When my daughter Azoria small started her lessons she would often cry so hard because she was scared of the water. But thank to the instructors that take the time out to encourage her and work with her throughout her lesson. The instructors were very patient and attentive and that helps a lot. After a couple months Azoria began to fall in lessons after lessons and azoria start becoming so excited and with her excitement to learn and the willingness of her instructor made swimming a miracle. Ever since Azoria is up and ready for her swim lessons weekly, and every week she would ask “mommy can I go every day”, that’s how much she love swimming now From Azoria “mommy I love my swimming lesson please tell all the kids that I love swimming ok mommy“ @goldfish Manchester thank you for the lifelong skill that you are teaching my baby girl Azoria Small.

We have had the best experience at Goldfish over the past 2 years. They have always been so accommodating and ensured when there is a change in instructors that it is one that they know my son will work well with. We have seen so much progress in my son’s skills and he now loves going to swimming every week. Thank you to all the staff!

Very nice place but if you only want one month of swimming to be sure you tell them your FIRST lesson. We missed out on ONE swim lesson after paying $150 bc of a family emergency & we have now lost that lesson because we unregistered. Which means we did 3 classes & paid $40 for each class if you take off the $30 one time fee. They obviously only care about the money & not their customers.

My son was very hesitant to get his face under water to the point that the last time we put him up for a class he used to just refuse to get into the water and keep playing near the water without going inside it , was very worried he might not learn swimming but after joining goldfish within a matter of few weeks he is now very comfortable to get inside the water and do some basic swimming highly recommend

I have nothing but good things to say, and I wish I knew of your program sooner. The instructors were great. The attention my child got was perfect. The smaller groups were perfect. He went from not wanting to get in the water to having a great time in no time.

If I rated safety alone I would give 5 stars. There are plenty of guards on duty at any given time and they're very attentive to the kids in the pool and super friendly. My low rating is based on the program itself. For $120/month it's not worth it. 4:1 ratio for 30 mins. Your average programs charge that for an 1hrs time. My daughter was in the program for over a year and we have nothing to show for it. My daughter consistently receive great feedback and moved up a couple levels, but still can't swim, back float, or even tread water on her own. This is a robbery. You should reconsider your curriculum or your fee. Answer this, what are your goals and time frame to meet these goals. Yes, we want our kids to be safe, but we also want them to learn to swim in a timely manner.

We brought him here when he was only 5 months and now he just graduated his mini 1 to mini 2 at 16 months! I love the staff, they’re ALL friendly & super helpful, they always make him feel safe in the water & now he’s loves being in water! Thank you Goldfish!!

If I could give this place a million stars I would! My son has special needs (autism), and he has been accommodated for his disability while being coached to become a better swimmer. Quran is amazing and my son calls him his bestfriend ! He looks forward to swim every week. If your teacher is out sick they also give you a call which I found AMAZING because my son needs warning or he gets very overwhelmed. I suggest goldfish to everyone I know!

I highly recommend this school. The service is impeccable, and the instructors are highly trained. I love the interaction they have with parents after a lesson and the interaction with the children during instruction. They keep you informed of your child's progress and where they need to strengthen their skills. I like the flexible schedule, and I can stay and watch my son practice. I recommend Golffish Swim School for their professionalism and dedication to each child.

We love Goldfish and only have excellent things to say about it! We have been at Goldfish Manchester for 9 months with our now three year old. The staff are talented, kind, and supportive, helping our sometimes reluctant swimmer to feel comfortable in the water and learn to swim. Everyone from the front desk, to management, to the teacher and lifeguards are just the best. Goldfish is an inclusive and diverse environment that treats everyone both as a valued member of the community and as an individual. Thank you Goldfish!!

Beware of child abuse. On 12/21/24 lane 5 with Anthony I noticed my daughter crying I went over and she told me her arm hurt Anthony immediately said she was pretending. Which was definitely not like my child as she has been attending classes for months and never once did she complain or cry.She loved swimming and was enthusiastic about it.I later found out that Anthony called her a devil and was so hard with her hand that it triggered a pain crisis for which I later had to take her to the CCH.They claims a manager would call me but no one did.Anthony's bad day caused truma to my child. Jasmine was her previous instructor and she never harmed my child she was amazing.

My son started swim lessons at Goldfish a couple of months ago and I highly recommend it. My son is 5 and has been through Glider 1, 2, and is now in Gilder 3. I love how each level has a set list of skills that they are working on. They get to work on all of the skills each lesson which has helped my son because he knows exactly what is expected of him. There is a progress report in the app after each lesson so you can keep track of what your child has mastered and what they are still working on. They also have a chart with pictures that show each skill, my son looks at it during every class to help him understand the skill.
In glider 1 the kids swim in only half a lane which turns out to be perfect for the skills they are working on and keeps the class fast paced so they aren't waiting for their turn for too long. Once my son passed glider 1 his classes have been in a whole lane as they are learning to swim for longer distances.
I also highly recommend the jump start clinics that are offered in the summer. My son made a ton of progress going to lessons 4 days in a row!
Prior to starting Goldfish my son felt comfortable in the water and loved swimming but didn't really have the skills to match his confidence level. We noticed improvements on day 1 when he learned to go under water without holding his nose. I have seen improvements after each class. I feel a lot better knowing that he has learned so much and now has the skill to match his confidence level in the water.
I also want to mention how nice the teachers are, they are so kind to my son and he smiles through his whole class! Scheduling has been easy, we have had to do a makeup class which was no problem. We have also been able to sign up for a couple of casual classes which has been an easy process!

We have been going to the Manchester CT, Goldfish Swim School for a year and a half now. I could not be happier! The instructors are amazing! So knowledgeable and loving with the kids. The front staff are very welcoming and always willing to answer any questions you might have. If you are on the fence, try one of their trial classes, you’ll definitely find it worth you while!!! We came from lessons elsewhere and they were unorganized and had no control over the kids. With the small class size and organized lanes, the lessons run very smooth. The all glass between the seating area and the pool make it easy to watch the whole lesson. There are showers and plenty of changing rooms as well!

I am so happy that we found the Goldfish Swim school. My son is on the Autism spectrum and at first we were having difficulty using the fitting room because he gets overwhelmed by the amount of people as well as being wet and having to be in a wet bathing suit for a couple of minutes outside of the pool. The Goldfish Swim School worked with us to accommodate my child who has special needs and I really am thankful for them, they have made our experience beyond five stars and I do want to also shout out Anthony our swim instructor for being very understanding, loving, and helpful toward children with special needs. It goes above and beyond when they work with you to accommodate your children that struggle with transitioning, sensory and social issues, or children that may need special attention in general. We will never go anywhere else and highly recommend this swim school for other children who have autism or who have learning disabilities. All I can say is thank you for understanding and being so friendly to each and every child no matter their struggles or difficulties. Anthony is absolutely an amazing person and crucial necessity to this swim school, my son adores him. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

We love Miss Niah!!! She makes my son feel very comfortable in the water. When she not there my son will not swim. He’s on the spectrum and she’s so kind and patient! Thank you Miss Niah! See ya soon!

My only problem is the newer manager is not as welcoming as the rest. She comes off as a bully even to the staff that has been with our children before she came. I suggest she listen to the instructors because they know the children best. Class should be longer because for the price, you’re technically paying for 7 minutes of training.

All of my children have taken lessons here. The pool and facility is always clean, and the staff is extremely helpful. Having a warm pool makes a huge difference!

Holly, the manager, has gone out of her way to make sure that the lesson times are convenient. This is no small accomplishment since I have multiple children in different level classes.

In addition to the excellent customer service, I have always felt that my children were safe and receiving high quality instruction. My three year old was initially terrified of getting in the water. After a few lessons at Goldfish, she was happy to get into the pool. A few months later, she is swimming independently. I highly recommend Goldfish Swim School for children of all ages and abilities.

Goldfish Swim School Manchester is a blessing. Our son has been going here for more than a year now. I still remember the first two classes when he cried and did not wanna go anywhere near the pool. While we could not stomach it, the patience and warmth displayed by the entire staff was amazing. Not long after, our son started loving it. The staff is just incredible. They are kind and gentle with kids and make it a fun experience for them. For us, it’s a relaxing 30 minutes to watch him learn to swim with his ever smiling instructor who showers him with encouragement and praise. I would highly recommend this place!!

The pros: easy scheduling, the place is incredibly clean for the amount of traffic it sees, it’s run like a well oiled machine, nice amenities such as changing rooms, hair dryers etc, staff is friendly.

The cons: $120/mo which is about $30/30 minute lesson with a group of 4 kids to one instructor. Each kid in the group probably gets a total of 6 or 7 minutes in the water per lesson, as they wait turns for each student to go in. After about 10 lessons, my 8 yo had not made much progress and wasn’t independently floating even. Also, the environment is incredibly busy and loud, which may be challenging for more sensitive/neurodiverse kiddos. Definitely not conducive for shy ones, I’ve witnessed so many crying toddlers, which is billed as “normal”. We ended up going to Wilderness Experiences Unlimited in Southwick, Mass for private lessons and the value and progress is leaps and bounds greater for us.

Had a terrible experience with my child. Showed up for class one day and the pool was closed as a result of a child having an accident. Not only did management fail to communicate this to me before arriving, they refused to allow me to make up the class on another day of my choosing. Paying for a class and not actually receiving the service is ridiculous and should tell you everything you need to know about this place.

Just be warned, if your child doesn't like the class or you're no longer able to attend, their policy states you need 30 days cancellation notice. Not a fan of that at all and they were kind enough to waive it for us, but wasn't easy. Other than that, the class and location seemed great.

My toddler has taken lessons here for the last several months. Very clean and well equipped with a large staff of knowledgeable swim instructors. The pool is divided into many lanes to accommodate lessons for different age/skill levels and the only challenging thing about it is that it gets very loud and makes hearing the instructor very difficult. Their app makes it easy to cancel and make up classes and also keep track of your child's progress, which I love!

I have a toddler and she loves it here. The instructor for our class is kind and easy to follow along. Which isn't always easy with a child under 2.

Before committing your child to swimming lessons at Goldfish Swim School, be advised that your child will receive less than 5 minutes of 1 on 1 instruction per class. (I challenge anyone paying for these classes to time the amount of 1 on 1 instruction your child receives per class) There are anywhere between 3 to 6 kids per instructor in a 30 minute class. My daughter received less than 3 minutes of 1 on 1 instruction during the last lesson. A 5 year old cant learn to swim with verbal instruction, their attention span and communication skills aren't developed enough. Young children need the instructor to teach the physical mechanics of swimming 1 on 1.
The instructors are friendly, but I'm not paying for kindness, I'm paying for swimming lessons that could potentially save my young childs life. Before I went to the swim lesson, my wife had been taking her to the swim school weekly for months. My daughter still can't swim on her own. At 3 minutes of 1 on 1 instruction per week, it would take 5 months to get the equivalent of a 1 hr one on one lesson. Save a lot of money and time and take your child to a swim school with a better teacher to student ratio or private lesson. Learning to swim is so important. Use your time and money wisely and find more efficient swimming lessons than what Goldfish Swim School offers. It was a terrible waste of time and money.

Signed my daughter up for one swim class, I was told that a wavier needed to be signed (pretty standard) however there was an issue with my account and the account needed to be reset. I was told the waiver could only be signed online. I tried resetting my account multiple times as no one answers the phone at the Manchester location. This ended up causing my daughter to miss her swim class. I am completely dissatisfied and will be sharing this review with local parenting groups. Looking at past reviews the communication seems to be a reoccurring issue here...

This place is just OK. The building is clean, bright and inviting. My son attended for 8 months and I don't feel like he got much out of it. He can do basic things in the water but after shelling out almost a grand on swim lessons, I expected him to be taught to actually swim. It took 6 months to move up a level, then needed to wait for a class to open up. The classes were too short and very repetitive. They teach the same thing over and over so he may be good at floating on his back but what other skills were they teaching? We certainly will not be coming back.

By far the worst experience I've had, the receptionist at the front is extremely rude I simply asked if she knew how my daughter could move up to the next level since she had accomplished every step in her current class and she told me to just look at the portal, then when I asked if she could look it up for me she rudely said to ask the instructor next class, I also asked when they could make up a missed class and she said if I didn't call they can't make it up, I get they get busy up there that is why I waited for the middle of the class time so there wasn't anyone at the front and still just rude, I also understand there are policies in place and a system of the way they do things but the way she spoke to me is uncalled for and unprofessional. Also she kept referring to the portal which is great now that I know I will most definitely refer to the portal but a heads up would have been great or at least show me how I can do these things would be nice not just a rude figure it out yourself and your service here means nothing to us. Sincerely considering a new place to take my children I just can't support a business with poor Customer service.

Very inexperienced staff who don’t really know what they are doing. They also won’t let you cancel online or over the phone so you are stuck with an auto-bill until you go in person. We have been waiting for two months to get switched to a weekend class as that was their staffs solution so we wouldn’t quit. They will add you to the wait list but I think they take new members to the classes over transferring current members.

What makes Goldfish Manchester shine is the staff's willingness to adapt to situations, listen to parents who have concerns, find solutions, shift teaching methods based on the children, etc. We've had all of these situations occur at Goldfish and we're incredibly grateful to work as a team with them so our children can continue to improve and reach their swimming goals. (I don't write these words lightly. Our children were in other programs in other states when we lived there and none of these components existed in those programs.)

Note- this is in addition to the gloriously warm water, clean facilities, etc etc which are all excellent, too.

As the other reviewers said, the place is too small. It may be good for someone who wants to learn how to swim, but it is way too small for big kids. There are 4 kids in each lane and in the 30 minutes they hardly get 5 minutes each. I have enrolled my son for a month to check the facility. He wasn't too impressed and hasn't even attended last two of the 4 classes. I called the facility to drop the coming month's fee as we aren't interested in continuing and the employee/owner said there is a 30 day notice and won't refund the amount. Wasted $100 bucks and won't recommend this even to an enemy :)

Although the classes are only 30 min I do feel it is appropriate for my child’s age group. We’ve been to a few classes and I’ve already seen improvements in my child’s technique and confidence. I couldn’t be happier, you guys are doing an amazing job!

Exactly what I was looking for. Structured learning with a small group in a fun environment. My 4 year old can’t wait to go back next week! I was also watching the older groups and they’re learning swim techniques and starting to swim unaided, so I felt reassured that progressing through the classes will give my son the skills he needs. Felt professional, clean, safe & organized. Staff are super friendly and the facilities are great too.

I have to echo what others are saying here. The two issues are the shared lanes and lack of attention for each swimmer. In my child’s lane, the group is 3:1. Each student sits and waits while the other is getting trained by the swim teacher. It only equates to about 10 minutes of 1on1 training for each student since each lesson is 30 minutes long. My son is a beginner and told me he wishes that he could swim farther. At 4 years old, even he understands that there isn’t enough room. Lanes are shared with another group, giving students less than desirable room to learn. I only hope things improve soon since they just opened, otherwise we will have to look somewhere else.

The facility is clean and welcoming. Plenty of changing rooms.

This is a perfect place for a child to learn how to swim. It’s clean, the instructors are great with the kids, and you can’t beat the price. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family. My son absolutely loves it!! Maybe one day, he’ll teach ME how to swim. 😊

Not at all satisfied with anything. Very small pool, too much crowded, mini lane for training that too being shared across classes/levels, very less time for the kids to be in water - unlike other places where all kids are in water learning at the same time, here 1 kid learns and other 3 kids sit watching. The only reason why we went there is because of indoor pool, but guess the decision was bad! Hope my review helps other to take an informed decision.

Do not go to this place!
1. They have the worst trainers that you would have ever come across.
2. They are probably hiring ‘trainers’ that even don’t know how to swim (just look up their job posting)
3. During the training, they actually have 2 trainers. Don’t get fooled by that, they are actually taking our kids time to train the trainer
4. The kids get 5 min in the water, for the rest of the time they sit waiting for a turn
5. Trainers are not trained themselves, so they don’t really have ways to evaluate what level your kid should be in.
6. They do not disclose the fine prints (not sure if the fine prints even exist) when trying to sign you up for a full year membership. They just tell you the perks like free birthday party, free family time swim etc. but here is what happens when you try to avail those perks-
Family swim is only limited to first 20 people. But you only know it when you walk in with your kids thinking they are going to get some time to freely swim but guess what - all you can do is try the next week.
Birthday party is only limited to 1 per week. So technically they can only have 52 birthday parties. If it’s booked, sorry you’ve got to wait for next year.
7. The swim lanes for training is probably less than 10ft, where a lane is shared between 2 classes. So you have 4 kids in each class (8 kids), 2 trainers and 2 trainers who are being trained in 1 10ft lane! + 2 platform inside the water 2ft wide
8. They have signed up too many families at least for the weekend (what I have experienced). So as soon as the class is over, you’ll have to wait for a changing room. Plus they only have 2 bathrooms.

Save your money, time and effort and your kids from the dissatisfaction of swimming only for 5 mins!

They don’t deserve even that 1 star. I wish google had an option for -ve stars.

I 100% recommend this place. As everyone says, it is very clean! So far they have been fantastic with my son. He doesn’t know how to swim and they are currently teaching him the fundamentals. Can’t wait to the results .

Do not go here. I had high hopes for this new swim school. It is an attractive, fun atmosphere; however that is the only good thing about it. I paid $27 for 30 min swim lessons × 2 kids. We used a stop watch to time, and my children got 5 min and 27 seconds of time actually in the water. The rest on the time they are standing and waiting for their turn. They do not tailor the lessons to each child as advertised. They do the same thing with each child. They do not challenge the kids and teach them new things. My children could already swim a little, but the teachers held them in the water as if they had never been in the water the whole time. So I paid $100 for 2 classes where my kids were held in the water for 5 min each class. So sad and a terrible value. Also, they make you wait 30 days to cancel, so you are stuck paying if you are not happy. Save your money.
