Do not enroll your kids to this school.
They will over charge you even after you cancelled your subscription. My son didn’t attended to any of he’s classes last month and I called to canceled. Plus he didn’t learn anything while he was there in school. Be careful trying to cancel your subscription, they will give you a hard time and excuses to be able to charge you.

I had my daughter's 10th birthday party at goldfish. It was a wonderful experience for the children that was there and the parents. All the kids had such a great time and most importantly my daughter enjoyed her surprise birthday.
That lady is helping with the party and protecting the children as lifeguards also did a wonderful job. I love how they put the children safety first which I appreciate.

I highly recommend this swim school. My 5-year-old just finished two jump start weeks and made so much progress in that time. It was just amazing to see! My daughter absolutely loved her swim instructor, who was so patient and positive with her - thank you, Valerie!

Goldfish swim school is a great place for your little ones to learn how to swim. The facility is bright and colorful and has multiple bathrooms, showers, and changing huts. Every member of the staff is kind and helpful. The pool is 90 degrees so little ones have a comfortable time during lessons. My daughter started lessons when she was six months old and now is an independent and confident swimmer at four years old. When your child takes lessons they move up levels as they master certain skills and they will move up fast! Classes are small and the teachers focus on each child's individual ability. We are proud to be a Goldfish family and I recommend them to everyone!

I can't say enough good things about Goldfish Norwalk ! Enrolling my kids here has been one of the best decisions we've made. Throughout my daughter’s life, we have tried a few different programs in area. She loves swimming and actively participated in it during the summer but it can’t be difficult to find a great program all year round. After being referred to the Goldfish School, I was amazed at how quick they were to answer my questions, that variety of classes they have, and how passionate the team is to provide an excellent experience for the school of fish ( pun intended ;) )

After visiting for a free trial class, my daughter begged me to sign her up for classes and loves telling her friends about the fun she has at swim class. The teachers are especially skilled with their lessons, give substantial feedback so you know how your child is doing, and the front staff is also kind and help me whenever I forget swimsuits, towels, or even my mom brain ;) ( A special shout-out to Dasha who truly comes to the rescue when I have questions or need to buy another pair of goggles!

Overall, if you’re looking for an excellent swimming program with the great teachers, different levels of advancement, and a class your child will love- Look no further. The Goldfish Swimming school is what you’re looking for. You have nothing to lose with their free trial class and see the fish swim for yourself.

They scam you out of makeup swim classes. Fine print: you can only use makeup classes if you're enrolled in weekly classes so that means you'd have to double up in one week. Two of our classes were cancelled in one month due to weather and they wouldn't accommodate us unless we signed up for another month for $132. The front desk staff were always courteous and efficient in measuring our temparatures and checking us in. Everyone always wears masks or face shield. Our infant class instructor was always cheerful and encouraging. The changing rooms and bathrooms were always clean, and water temparature was warm and perfect. Our 13-month old daughter and myself LOVED every class we took and we always had a blast. My husband took many pictures and videos while watching us taking the classes. We love going over the pictures and videos afterwards and sharing them with our family. We had so much fun and were very happy to have found Goldfish Swim School in Norwalk, Connecticut.

I’ll give the negative part of my review first. I e-mailed the night prior to a potentially snow day and the owners response next morning was simply “just saw this email.” The funny part is the owner himself couldn’t answer the 3-questions I asked him:

1) are you open tomorrow?
2) can I get a spot for tomorrow?
3) I assume I should just call in the am when you open?

So his useless answer didn’t help me...whatever. I call in the am at 8, and get put into the 12:30 last class. They said “well call you in case we need to cancel.” Great!

Well no! At 11:43 I call do triple check, ready to go out the door, and the person who answered said “yes it’s canceled.” Very casually , but not her fault.

Had I known earlier I wouldn’t have liked it but understood. I would have gone to do another toddler activity, all which are morning hours. Now I’m without swim or anything else.

So, answer simple questions asked & if you’re going to say something, do it. I find it rather perplexing my answer from an owner was of such value, actually...none.

On a neutral note for the review: the Mini 2’s curriculum is cheaper in cost and the kid does more in the water because the parent does the work and the instructor gives direction. I was told to have her do then Mini 3 since she seemed way advanced. So I did. It was the same curriculum but since there’s 1:2 ratio (instructor:student) one child waits and the other goes with the instructor. I guess it develops patience but it’s more expensive and half the actual amount of swim time, literally.

On a positive note for review: amazing facility, fairly priced, super clean, very warm water. The kid loves it.

Wow I'm so impressed what they've done in the facility ever since my daughter used to come here before the pandemic. Management apparently changed as well i was told & now it seems way better. The teachers actually teach the kids and it's smaller classes/way wider lanes which = more time for each kid swimming. The staff has been great. They will make necessary adjustments to accommodate the needs of my daughters - from scheduling, assigning swim instructors and making a smooth transition whenever they level up. Lynn, Caitlin, and Luis' leadership shows how well they strive for great customer service and this is evident on how the staff conduct themselves professionally while making it all fun. Jessica has been exceptionally great in coaching and showed so much caring behavior that set up my 7 year old Amiya for pro-1. Yuliana encouraged and pushed her to give her best and that gave Amiya all the confidence to swim away. Catherine, Cristian, Geraldine and Jonathan are pillars of safety to the younger swimmers. Their smiles are contagious that makes Ava comfortable in the water. Overall, the staff in Norwalk Gold Fish Swim School are well trained, and they showcase world class professionalism.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the GoldFish Swim School located on Main st in Norwalk. I do not want to drag out the story, but I also do not want to over simplify the fact that they completely ruined my child’s birthday. I get a call 3.5 hours before my sons birthday party telling me that they had to cancel due to a child “not following the rules.” Although their was absolutely nothing I could do at that point the manager Lynn was less than accommodating and certainly never had to deal with irate customers. I was extremely upset, as any mother of a 5 year old that has been waiting for his birthday party would be.

When I told Lynn that she had to find another way to accommodate us, even if that meant just utilizing the space and not the pool she denied my request and told me that I needed to just calm down. I had over 25 people that were due to show up and I had to figure something out. I had given them more than what was required as a deposit, considering you don’t have to pay the full amount until the day of the party. I asked Lynn for a refund and she refused to give me my refund. I told her that was unacceptable that over $500 was spent on this place, with $175 still needing to be owed to them, and she was not giving me my refund. I asked her when she would be available to speak in person for me to receive my refund because I had to get off the phone to figure out a plan B, and she took it as a threat and replied with I was not going to threaten her and that I was not “privy” to her schedule.

Mind you Lynn is the General Manager of this place! I asked her for her boss. She refused to give over the information. I asked her for a corporate office number, she stated there was no corporate. Fast forward, she tells me that she cannot show me my contract because it is shredded after it is sent to the corporate office. Yeah…..
This led to me having to get police involved and subsequently the owner was contacted 2 days later and we received a refund in the form of a check. The owner then states that the General manager did not know that she was authorize to process refunds. The owner offered me a complimentary swim, but that does not make up for my childs day. He was COMPLETELY heartbroken. His party was scheduled for 2PM which gave no other place enough notice to host a party. He received no gifts on his birthday, no cake ,because Goldfish were to take care of providing the cake, and I was out over $300 in decorations, thank you gifts, etc…

The place in general is BEAUTIFUL and I really wish this did not go the way that it did. Honestly if I would have received my refund the day of without the hassle of having to go down and get police involved I would be MORE than willing to go back. Hell I would even apologize to Lynn for being so angry. But this place does not deserve ANY of it. The people running the place have no sense of what it takes to run a business. All of the bottom line employees looked confused and sounded confused when I asked them questions regarding the refund policy. Lynn was so concerned with being right that she completely removed her customer service hat. TERRIBLE!

The manager was very rude and unaccommodating when my child graduated from a level and didn’t offer any classes or flexibility for the same day/time to accommodate us. They gave no forewarning or ability to be sensitive to the needs of working families. My husband and I tried for a week to communicate with someone about the class, thus showed up on the day of lesson in expecting that he would be able to return to the same class and have a slight leeway or transition to the next class/level, instead they filled his spot without informing us.....Furthermore, there has been multiple lessons without the same instructor, and lacks consistency. In addition, if you need to do makeups, it’s very difficult to find spots and only allows you a week in advanced to find a makeup spot. I don’t recommend this program if you want to deal with unaccommodating, insensitive, and inconsistent instructors.

The whole place is so cute. The front desk staff is really nice and helpful, there's plentiful, large changing "huts" (some with Bumbo chairs so you can set baby down safely), hair dryers, swim suit dryers, and thoughtful touches like extra diapers. The whole place is themed in a very fun Hawaiian-like way. My daughter is usually scared of new places, but she smiled and immediately ran up to the paintings on the walls and pointed out the fish. For parents who observe classes, the observation area is large and comfortable. They will come to get you at the end of class so you can interact with the teacher. You can also sit on the pool deck but it's really warm in there!

As for the lesson, mine was a parent/child class (my daughter is 2.5). The teacher was very friendly and bubbly. The activities were very gentle and gradual. I can't speak to the older classes, but they were using a lot of neat equipment I've never seen before. When you get out, there's a wall of showers for a quick rinse or there's a few bathrooms with showers. Overall, a wonderful experience.
