I love this YMCA. I've always found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. I super love the sauna and pools and spin room. I agree the locker rooms could use some updating, that's really the only thing I have to say. Any time I've had an issue (some guy was vaping while on the treadmill) the staff immediately took care of it.

I have been going here for about a year now, and i think i am going to cancel my membership soon. every single time i go several other people young and old leave machines sweaty and gross and never wipe them down. it really grosses me out and i always wipe down my machines before and after. I wish the staff said or did something about it so that I don't have to ask other members to do it and they just give me a dirty look or get embarrassed themselves. like bro yes i want you to wipe it down i can see your whole anatomy in sweat left behind on the seat. It would be whatever if it was occasionally but its like 80% of the members that go are either very young and don't know any better or very old and don't know in the first place. I have immune compromised people at home and I always worry I may bring home something after a workout I picked up at the YMCA

The YMCA in Brookfield is extraordinary. The list of amenities is remarkable. Here is a list, although nowhere near inclusive, of some of them. Indoor pool for lap swim, smaller indoor heated pool for stretching, water aerobics, small children; outdoor Olympic size swimming pool covered with a dome for winter use, and uncovered during the summer; Spin cycle room (which unfortunately occupies the space that was formerly a racquetball court); several weight rooms with every type of machine imaginable (except a curling machine. They used to have one. Nobody knows what happened to it.); a huge indoor basketball court; an indoor track; an expensive locker room with steam sauna; standard locker room at a much lower and affordable fee (it has no steam sauna, but who really needs or uses a steam sauna? It is way too hot in there!); Summer Day Camp for the kiddies; friendly front desk staff; so many different classes offered, it is impossible to list; plenty of parking; and the weather is always nice there even when it is raining. How this is possible, I donβt really know. All I do know is that exercise is essential to a healthy life. Before I exercise, I feel miserable and tired. After exercise, I feel happy and tired. I canβt wait until my next work out. I urge you to do the same at the YMCA in Brookfield.

We've been members for a couple years and enjoyed the swimming plus summer camp. It's a mixed bag of good & bad chocolates - you never know. Today my boy (7yo) came to free swim, and he went to the only lane available per the lifeguard. Soon the one woman sharing it told him to leave and swim in another area. Looking up from my bench to see this conflict I approached and explained that the lifeguard directed that this was the only lane available. She was disrespectful and argumentative. The guard eventually arrived and said she's an instructor and has authority. As a member and parent I think the Y personnel need to be respectful, clear, and safe instead of confusing, argumentative, and selfish.

I love the group training at this club. I am especially inspired by Coach Marisa, she is a benchmark of physical endurance that I want to aspire to.
In the summertime, we like to take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool with the whole family. It is only a bit frustrating that free swimming is available only in the evening and there is little space for families in the pool, which sometimes causes pandemonium.
Another unpleasant moment: the reception staff seems to be unaware of the options that the membership includes. We were denied access to the sauna, even though the club's website clearly states that it is included in the membership.
From the suggestions for the improvement of the club's space:
- better clean the outdoor pool and floor of the Studio;
- revise the space in the outdoor pool to make it more comfortable for family swimming;
- and inform the reception staff to ensure that their awareness is in line with what is stated on the official website.
I wish you prosperity, a friendly and hard-working team and bright future prospects!

They must think they are running a country club here or something intead of a dated YMCA in a middle class suburb. I used my National Membership as I was visiting the area. There were 2 locker rooms. One was for their " exclusive" members and it had a sauna and steam room. It was locked up like Fort Knox. I was told to use the other one locker room which I presume is for visitors or second class members who cant afford the higher rate. To me this feels like discrimination against those who canot afford their 2 tier rates. I mysef pay a very high rate at my home branch so I should be entitled to all the benefits that these higher tiered members benefit from. Everyone should be equal at the Y regardless of what they can afford to pay. I would hate to be the one person in a friend group that was left out for not being able to afford the higher tier rate. I am going to report this. I am not sure anyone will care but I am going to try to find someone with authority who will.

We simply love everything about the Y, my 8 year old takes swimming classes, acting, cartooning, painting, we've tried them all. He loves his time at kid's night out and can't wait for summer camp to start again. The Y definitely gives you that feeling of community

I was lucky to have a friend take me before a membership was in my mind! I loved it and had a blast!! Granted a few life guards could be more personable regardless if you are a athletic swimmer or someone who can swim but not in professional form! I met with Deb for my application and she was great π! We talked about the pools, classes, then our kids and college! She was personable and professional!! I totally give her a thumbs up! ππππ

5 Stars for the kids swimming power lessons thru this 2019 summer. We have tried classes (other places) that are once a week and did not find that worth it. Our plan was to have our kids learn and get better at swimming. Mission accomplish after 3 sets of lessons.Mrs Maria (The swimming coach) was FANTASTIC! She was friendly and would support and push the kids when needed. Plus you learn in a real pool that goes down to 12 feet. The first lesson, my kid would no go near the deep end. Now my kid as no fear of it. We are looking forward to next year. I highly recommend the swimming power lessons and my kids favorite swim coach, Mrs Maria. Thank you!

I have been involved in fitness for over 33 years. This facility is the BEST in the area. The indoor and out door pool are clean and maintained correctly. They have huge cardio center, TWO weight training rooms with machines, dumbells, kettlebells, multible squat racks, medicine balls, rope machine, ect....., full court Basketball , spin room, yoga, swim classes for all ages, pickle ball, steam room and multible saunas. The staff are professional and kind. Thee BEST YMCA in Connecticut.

This YMCA is relatively wonderful with respect to offered youth and adult programs or activities, child-care services, and equipment. In fact, my son loves it so much that he constantly asks to go there so that he may swim, play basketball, or attend the childcare facility. However, some of the staff members, particularly the ones serving at the front desk, could indubitably benefit from a slight upgrade in friendliness or attitude. Having been a customer for at least one decade continually, my observation is that some of these staff members occasionally tend to be rude or respectful to customers based on seemingly personal perceptions.

From out of town and needed a gym with pool for my training. Facility is up to date with the latest Cardio equipment, pool and locker room were clean and staff was friendly and professional.
I walked in asked for lap and gym hours, paid my $10 and filled out a simple guest form. Took no longer than a few minutes. After that I was good to go. Great place and now I know I can always count on the YMCA for my workouts when out of town.
