In addition to working as a firefighter for 18 years, I started personal training 12 years ago, where I can help my clients use fitness to feel better both physically and emotionally. My main focus is about correcting form and balancing integrated movements with strength training to help clients feel successful in everything they do from handling life's everyday tasks to excelling in interactive sports. I am also licensed as a physical therapist assistant and certified by NASM as a personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist. Additionally, I hold certifications in nutrition, stretching, pre- and post-natal care, mobility, and cardio kickboxing.

I've had many trainers in my life and Michael is one of the best. He's careful, meticulous, and tough — all the right ingredients for getting pumped without overdoing it. Within just a few months I felt improvement in my strength and conditioning, even just working with Michael twice a week. Michael is WONDERFUL!! He pushed me and challenged to work hard each day. I had a couple of specific goals (be able to do a pull-up) and he made sure every session we worked towards that a little bit. Always good company as well. I have missed him dearly since he returned to New York. :(

Michael was a blast to train with! I joined his strength training class for runner's while I was training for a trail race. He listened to my concerns and offered modifications if I was not comfortable with an exercise. There was a lot of variety with the movements and I appreciated the time and attention he took with each of us in the class. He always made sure we were doing the exercises properly to avoid injury. I loved how we did a quality warm up and cool down with some mobility exercises every class. I can't recommend Michael enough!

I have trained one on one for years and my experience with Michael was the best! He asked all the right questions, listened to the answers (yes listened) and tailored workouts to my areas of need. My overall strength and endurance improved in a very short amount of time. He’s professional and a great conversationalist when you need it.

The last time I worked out was almost a decade ago. I have been semi-active with some physical activities, but not enough to where I was healthy. I had a slightly torn rotator cuff that had been bugging me for months, but had an upcoming golf tournament and had to try to heal my shoulder without surgery.
My first session with Michael was an analysis of my current injuries (I had more than just the shoulder issue) and my state of health. He then set up sessions custom fit for my situation. He not only remedied my injuries, but got me passed that initial health hill that everybody dreads to be able to make it over and now I can do a personal routine with confidence.
Michael is very personable and really cares about his client's health. He's not pushy and brought me right to my limits every session without me realizing it. He keeps a watchful eye on you to make sure you're okay and using proper technique. And he's also engaging during the workout so it's like your good friend is guiding you and I never felt out of place (as I am generally afraid of gyms since I haven't been to one in awhile). My health has increased beyond my expectations. He also provided links via email of workouts we had done so I could refer to them on my days off if I chose to want to workout on my own.
This dude seriously changed my life and I am forever grateful.

Michael and I have been working out for several months now and I have only had amazing experiences with him. He trained me (age 21) and my friend (age 71) at the same time and always made sure we both were working hard at our own levels. 10/10 would recommend. Contacting Michael was the best decision I've ever made. I've never felt better both physically and mentally after working out with Michael. I contacted him because I didn't really know how to exercise correctly and I was always worried about re-injuring my back. Michael took all of this information and tailored a fitness routine to my needs. He is extremely knowledgeable and watches to make sure your completing the movements correctly. I have learned so much about proper position and technique and it has made exercising not only more effective but more enjoyable. On top of that, he's a wonderful human being to be around. I've worked with a bunch of trainers over the years, and two great ones -- one of whom is Michael. We've been working together every week for 18 months. He's absolutely reliable. He's clear in his instructions and, if I ask, the physiological reasons for each exercise. He pushes me, but he's not pushy. He's thoughtful in all senses, a congenial no-drama mensch.

I have been working with Michael for over 5 years. He is a fantastic trainer. Working with him is like having a personal coach and physical therapist. He is so knowledgeable from a health and fitness perspective and can work around injuries as well as any medical doctor. He has become a qualified physical therapist now too, so he's the best combination you could ask for in a trainer. He's really fun to be around too, it's never a slog to do a workout with him. I would highly recommend him to anyone from super fit already and looking for challenging training sessions or beginner. And if you have suffered an injury or struggled to maintain fitness due to injury, he's an excellent choice.

I have been working with Michael for the better part of a year and I would recommend him to anybody (regardless of your particular fitness goals). Michael is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and detailed, and does a great job of (1) tailoring a workout plan for you and (2) explaining the science behind the approach -- beginning with the most basic movements and working up to more complex/applied exercises. I have worked with several other personal trainers in the past but have enjoyed working with Michael the most.
