What fun we’re having at Open Barre! I recently moved to Cheshire and found Ashley right away. The workouts are the perfect mix of challenging and fun.

For a girl who never liked to work out. Never liked the gym and always felt awkward. Open Barre is the best! I love the variety of classes offered from classic to hiit to hot barre.

Open Barre offers a welcoming, friendly environment. A more intimate space where I can get the benefit of a more 1 on 1 experience which has helped me improve my strength and overall health.

Marissa is a truly wonderful instructor who really takes the time to make sure I am getting the most out of each class. After attending classes twice a week for the last 5 months, I'm really seeing the results in the mirror, feeling the difference in my body and regaining my confidence.

I joined Open Barre in early 2025 when I was postpartum with my second child and looking for someway to get movement back into my life during the day while on parental leave and home with my child. Ashley and Marisa have created such a great welcoming environment for caregivers with their littles to get a great workout in that keeps you challenged along with creating a community of other caregivers and their littles. When I transitioned back into my full time job I shifted to the 6am classes which have been amazing as a working mom with two young kids. Open barre’s M-F 6am classes make it so I can get a great workout in early and be back home to take on the rest of the day.

I’ve been attending Open Barre for the past four months and absolutely love it! Ashley and Marissa are incredible instructors—each class is challenging in the best way, and you definitely feel the burn. I can't say enough good things about Open Barre in Cheshire, Connecticut! This studio is a true gem. The workouts are incredibly effective, especially for core strength and postpartum recovery. Each class leaves me feeling empowered and rejuvenated.

I’m literally obsessed with Ashley’s classes! They have really helped me to tone my body, and I am so happy with the results. I had never tried Barre before and was nervous to go, but she creates such a fun, relaxed, and welcoming environment that made me feel comfortable right away. And now, I’m addicted to going! Every class is filled with a high quality workout with exercises that work the entire body, and you work muscles you don’t even realize you haven’t worked before. I started going to Mommy Bootcamp with Ashley at 6 weeks postpartum. I found her on instagram months prior and was eager to get started in the community she has built. I can confidently say, her classes and environment has been one of the most positive things for me. After moving to Cheshire this summer with our daughter and not having been very much active postpartum outside of walking our new neighborhood, I was in desperate need of a workout. Luckily I stumbled across Ashley’s Barre at the Bar and funnily enough had a flier in my mailbox for her new studio opening which had a mommy and me class! I felt great after barre at the bar and knew I needed to check out her new studio! My daughter and I have been going to the studio for a few months and every class is 1, a great workout that has left me feeling awesome, and 2, a fun and safe environment for me and my baby. As a new mom who’s also new to the area, I can’t recommend Ashley’s classes enough for those who are looking for a great workout (that doesn’t require finding a babysitter).

Bonus- you get to admire your cute baby interacting with all the other cute babies!!!

I’ve been taking Open Barre classes for a year now and love it! Being able to bring your child is a huge bonus, helps get us out of the house during the day while doing something for myself. Ashley is so good with the kids and even gets them to participate. My daughter does squats and all sorts of other exercises at home now. She’s always willing to modify movements based on your level. I’ve never been someone who exercises but this class makes me want to each week. Highly recommend any of her classes!

I was excited to come experience this place with my friend, who had gone to many of the stroller classes offered before the studio opened. She went to one of the first classes with her child and ended up leaving feeling embarrassed and belittled because her child was active (even though kids are openly welcomed to that class.) She has spoken so highly of this place before this, and to hear how they treated her AND her child fueled me to share this experience as a potential client.

I am aware this is only one side of the story- but how a business handles issues speaks volumes. It would have been a great opportunity for a business to mend a damaged experience for a client and come up with a successful solution. It's a disadvantage for them, she was a fantastic word of mouth endorsement for this establishment. I myself was ready to sign up that week to join her! I will obviously not now. And I will pass along this information to others if needed. Please consider how you handle situations with your clientele, because it has ripple effects. :(

Open Barre classes are fun AND challenging. Ashley possesses a wealth of knowledge and myriad certifications, including postpartum and prenatal, which has benefitted me greatly. Her teaching style is fantastic - the perfect mix of upbeat, motivating and zen. She has a way of encouraging you to challenge yourself while always listening to your body. More than just the ability to work out, Mommy Bootcamp classes have allowed me to build lasting mom-friendships and the opportunity to share the importance of physical activity with my little ones.

The environment at the new Open Barre studio is warm and inviting; it has a really cool vibe that makes me excited to spend my mornings there. I’m excited to try the many new class offerings as well. Highly encourage others to check out Ashley’s classes, with or without the little ones!

She provides many modifications to meet you where you are yet still challenge you. Her instruction is easy to follow yet the workouts are challenging. Her space is always warm and welcoming, and she treats everyone with such kindness. The mommy bootcamp classes have become something so important to both my mental and physical health. Amazing space for a great workout! I started taking Ashley’s class when I was 3 months postpartum with my youngest and her class has helped improve my overall wellbeing, mental health and has given my children a great example of prioritizing taking care of our bodies. Her 6 am class is a great option for working moms looking for some much needed “me time” before heading into work. Highly recommend all her classes. If you have little ones and childcare is your barrier to exercise these classes are for you!
