The place is clean. Not a lot of equipment and definitely had to wait for more than 1 machine. Black card services were very sparse and not appealing. Service was good and people tried helping me out. If you need a place to workout, come here but don’t expect the red carpet treatment or getting equipment right away

I've been to PF locations across the country (I think I'm over 40 states). This is by far the smallest club I've visited. However, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in organization and cleanliness. I actually look forward to being nearby as I travel for work knowing that a location this clean and well laid out is here.

PF social media team responded to my review and asked me to reach out. After three days of going back and forth they told me they had no ability to help me address this issue of my membership not being canceled for the last several years. They’re only responding to make it look like they are helpful but they’re not able to help at all.

I have attempted to cancel my membership over a dozen times over the past five years. From time to time the charges will stop and then they start again. I will cancel my credit card and then somehow PF updater finds my new credit card number and starts charging it again. There does not seem to be a way to cancel. I have attempted to login to the PF website and can not login. There’s no support at all. I would not recommend signing up for the gym unless you want to pay $25/month for years for nothing. I have not been into this gym since 2020, it’s 10/2025 and I’m still being charged.

I moved from CT three months ago. I called multiple times and even corporate called and most often I was not able to get a hold of somebody. When I was able to get a hold of somebody in regards to cancellation they said I had to have to go into the gym to cancel my membership this went on for 3 months. By the way it should be noted that I moved 7 hours away from the East Grandby gym.

During this time I sent a notice to my bank (7/19) to stop payment to the East Granby because I was living 7 hours away and where I am now, I can no longer go to a planet fitness that works with my schedule, they worked with the planet fitness and agreed to do the refund for the July but then turned around and charged me $56 not once but twice in the month of July for quote unquote late payment.

Then in the month of August planet fitness did it again and in September they did it again at which point I was finally able to reach somebody.

I tried calling multiple times anytime I was able to talk to somebody they said that you would have to go in person to cancel membership. In September the person I talked to finally said no you have to go to the website not the app to cancel membership. That should have been notified to me up front back in July not in september.

The manager at East Granby reached out to me and said that they could reverse the September payment but that the jawline in August payments were not able to be reversed despite me saying hey I've been wanting to cancel this membership for 3 months and on 719 I put a stop payment and the bank worked with that planet fitness to reverse the payment only for planet fitness to charge me twice double the amount in the same month.

The manager said he was going to reach out to his boss to see what could be done about the previous months and then called me back and told me that his boss was not able to do anything so at this point this planet fitness is taking close to $150 of mine that shouldn't have happened because they failed to tell me how to cancel my membership properly if I were looking at a planet fitness I would join the Bloomfield gym but I would stay away from the East Granby and the Enfield gym in Massachusetts they're owned by the same company, both are franchisee gyms and not a corporate gym.

Not only was this bad customer service but I already have on file that I was trying to cancel all the way back to July August and September and now they're saying that they can't refund the rest of the money that is not good business despite me having explained the situation which was a drop on their ball because whenever I called they kept saying you have to come in to cancel you have to come in in person to cancel or you have to come in in person to transfer membership to different gym I live 7 hours away.

9/29-As an update, I just got a text today from the billing company of the Granby planet fitness saying that I owe money still even though I'm now already canceled my account. The club has refunded this month's payment and now their billing company is saying I owe $180. I said no and they tried to reach out to the club and there was no one at the 9:00 at night that they could reach out to. The billing company left a message with the club to call them back and I let the billing company know that they are not to charge my card it's not an authorized payment and I've already notified my bank.

Planet fitness if you want to be reviewed as having more than Stellar business don't have me reach out to your public relations department, instead reach out to your billing department and get my account straight.

I move 7 hours away 3 months ago and I've spent 3 months and just today I got another update that I still owe money for account that I canceled and tried to cancel and finally successfully canceled 3 months later.

Great gym, aside from the fact that the music is always way too loud. I have high-end noise canceling headphones but the gym music still comes through. I don’t understand why you insist on playing it so loud since 99% of us are wearing headphones or earbuds. The volume is disruptive and inconsiderate of the guests who pay to be here.

Biggest challenge is the hours. Weekends they are only open 6a-7p… they are only open until 10 weekdays :/ It’s quite disappointing to have to pay 300 a year for something I can’t use very often because it’s out of my scheduling parameters :/ I‘d go to anytime fitness but they are even more money and in this economy I really can’t afford what I’m paying now. Anyway :/ check the hours before you commit.

This is one of those planet fitnesses in connecticut that I guess you can consider it to be there low end ones. Smaller space, less equipment, opening and closing hours are mid (they used to be 24/7), the mens bathroom has one toilet, etc.
Even today for Christmas eve they close at 11am while every other planet fitness closes at 3pm.

In comparison to all other planet fitnesses in connecticut, this one feels like the cheap and low-end one. If you can travel to any of the other ones, I would get membership there instead of the one in east granby. (Unless, of course, you have a black card membership)

Was convienet. Really we just needed a shower while traveling for our sons dirt bike race. We needed to get him to the airport right after his race. We were driving the 14hrs home but he was flying and was in need of a shower after his race. We couldn't find a truck stop close by. Then we remembered gym memberships here include showers lol. So out of desperation we grabbed a membership just so our son could shower. It worked out perfectly.

I'm happy to have this location in the area. It is, however, very underwhelming in size and services compared to locations closer to Hartford. Most notably, there is no 30 minute exercise space, and the black card area is bare bones. Doesn't seem to be much room to expand either, so I don't suspect the offerings here will be changing anytime soon.

It’s an okay gym. Clean enough. Very small, though. I don’t understand how they can charge the same price as every other planet fitness and not offer the same equipment. One of my all time favorite locations. Super clean, staff super friendly.

Do not join unless you plan on a lifetime membership! I moved to Georgia and attempted to cancel. They will only cancel if I sign in person or send a letter. I sent a letter and, of course, they did not receive it. Their advice is that I spend the money to send it certified. I moved in September and they can see that I have not been there since then but they still will not cancel unless I sign in person or send (another) letter which I am sure they will not receive. I suppose the $20/month they are getting from me is keeping the doors open.

**Update: Reached out as they requested, completely pointless. Same information as before. "Nothing we can do unless you sign in person (I live in Georgia now) or you send a letter (which I have but they claim to not have received it). Not sure how many letters have to be sent before they accept they have received it. Certified is not an option as I am at work when the Post Office is open. Seems absurd that you would have to take time off work to cancel a gym membership. Again, I must say that unless you want to be locked into lifetime payments to Planet Fitness, DO NOT join. Hope this helps someone, I am off to contact my bank.

I got a membership and found I didn't use it much. So last summer, I went there to cancel (since you can't cancel over the phone). The employee told me that when the year was up the membership would just expire. So I left, satisfied.

However, I recently looked at my charges and noticed that I had been getting charged every month by Planet Fitness. I called up, and they said that I never signed anything to cancel my contract. They have a record that I was there, but can't prove that I wanted to cancel it. I mean I haven't been in over a year other than that one day.

They will do nothing to rectify this. So basically I've been scammed out of $60 because their employee didn't follow the right protocols and gave me the wrong information.

Also I've read from several past members getting out of their membership is simalar to trying to getting out of the mafia and they still continue to charge you long after you give them a notice from the hundreds of complaints people have filed against them!!
I don't know firsthand, I've never joined but I don't like their contract or them having access to my checking account and I defenitly don't like the hundreds of complaints filed on them!!
If someone can confirm they are legit I'd join but IMO it all adds up to be very underhanded way to do buisness.

I’ve been going to this place for about a month now. Friendly and helpful staff. Gym is clean and there’s plenty of cardio machines to choose from. There are duplicates of every weight weight machine so there’s no waiting for one to open up. I usually go in the middle of the night or early morning and there is always a ton of equipment open!
