I just transfered from another planet fitness in fbks Alaska, and I must say although the one in fairbanks is a bit bigger, it didn't not have as many new machines as this one in hamden.
And i likehow this is is set up.
.ive been in to checking out, but to-day will be my first day actually going here.
.im sure i will need a bit of help with someone showing me how to use all of these brand spanking new machines, but iam excited to be starting new here.
Its been 2 weeks since I've worked out and before that in fairbanks I was going 5 days a week for about an hour and a half. Im going to take ita bit slow to get back into my old habits like 3 times a week fir an hour, but I know ill be getting back into my old routine as soon as im ready.
I also walk around my neighborhood as well as to get some fresh air and to watch the leaves turn.but I will definitely be cominig to planet fitness 5 days aweek again very soon,and iam excited!

I don't see enough people wiping down equipment after they use it. It's gross and the staff needs to enforce it as uncomfortable as that might be. It's the right thing to do. Very clean environment. The workers are attentive and friendly. The machines are cleaned regularly. The set up of the smith machines are in a great spot against the wall for people who do not want to feel ‘watched’ while working out. The layout of the gym is my favorite.

The gym is ok. It's clean. The staff are friendly. One of my complaints is that they no longer have Arc Trainers which is my favorite machine. Also they don't have trainer, so There are no classes available. I wanted to learn how to use the leg machines but they told me I would have to get a black card and go all the way to East Haven. I don't think that that's right. They really need to hire a trainer.

I’ve Been a plus member for a couple of years now. And don’t regret it . Definitely like everything about working out in Hamden have also used their New Haven, and Branford facilities as well as North Haven in the past when they were open. Being plus member gave e benefit of using these facilities as well as brining a friend. Any questions or concerns staff is always helpful. I also like the early access and 24 hour access to the gym. Massage chairs. Also, use of the total enhancement machine. Is very gratifying for me after a long workout.

Planet Fitness in Hamden is my home gym and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience so far. The staff is super friendly, the entire gym is always clean, there is a good variety of equipment to choose from and they’re always all functional. Hamden location - Giving this a 3 star because as of late , the crew in the afternoon bring their friends to the front and it’s just a hassle to get around them. It’s also a bit uncomfortable having all these ppl that don’t work there just hanging out having a party where as the others are supposed to be at work. When I walk out they’re just staring and I heard one of them make a slick remark because I didn’t say bye I was on my phone . I don’t even feel comfortable asking questions bc they are too busy entertaining their friends . It’s ridiculous. Please fix this . I’ve heard other members say the same thing. This is a gym not a social club.

If you are looking to workout then shower, this is not your gym. Boiler broken for months with no repair time frame. Shower curtains are to short, water goes everywhere. No deep cleaning of showers. Not enough free weights and always busy. Staff always friendly and helpful. Machines never overly busy.

The lay out is a whole square. If you have anxiety everyone will be looking at you lifting weights. The morning staff early morning like 5am are completely unprofessional, forceful, aggressive, harsh and unwelcoming. Like they want a problem even though they say yellow and glare at your screen after u scan in.

It's a relaxed, welcoming, accepting environment where you can listen to your music, zone out and get some exercise in at the same time. I've hated and avoided exercise for many years. I recently joined and have gone several times. I don't feel intimated or embarrassed about my body image and actually feel good with only a half hour of walking.

Showers were disgustingly horrible it had black mold and everything else and it was I use the same shower and for 2 weeks it was there and then I finally cleaned it nobody clean them showers for at least 2 weeks if not three weeks a lot of the mold did not come out in between the all the workers at night or just standing around talking they could be cleaning but they don't it's all fun and games

I hate to leave less than 5 stars because the staff members at this location are great. However, the locker room is a nightmare, specifically the shower situation. The curtains are too small which leads water to pool everywhere. On top of this, it appears a patron must have urinated in the shower, which in turn led urine mixed with water to coat the entire floor, and spread into all the shower areas. This isn't really a problem for the staff as another persons actions are outside of their control, but it seems there's a few other comments that management has addressed regarding the shower curtains. This seems like a really simple fix and I really can't wrap my head around why the curtains aren't replaced.

The employees here are great. They are very friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm giving this gym one star is because of the locker room situation. The showers have the shortest curtains. When you shower, all the water floods the floor. How cheap are shower curtains Planet Fitness? I'm sure you can use the money from all the people's gym memberships you don't let them cancel. Also, there are clumps of hair in the corners of the dressing rooms and whatever else lands on the floor. It will stay there for a month. Again, Planet Fitness, hire a cleaning crew once a week for crying out loud.

I go to the gym with James Whitfield a great friend of mines every weekend and usually we do a extreme workout and to wine it down we use the massage chairs and the head Manger let's us use it and so does the other staff but this one woman in particular says no every time and she is rude avoids eye Contact doesn't Pay us any mind like we are not there highly disrespectful and rude and this makes me angry upset and makes me want to switch to the edge in the same plaza and she also suggested if we didn't like it we can leave and not come back and rolls her eyes and she wears a weave and without the weave she wears a headcover and looks at us in utter discuss and bitterness and I am outrage by the unprofessional work place and standards clean your bathrooms and floors I almost slipped and fell and the toilets never work the equipment always fails and I am fed up completely

My wife went in to the club to cancel her membership back in March and was told that it was cancelled. Two months later, we are still being charged and the club says they have no record or her ever canceling. She hasn't been there since cancelling. Despite that, they are still refusing to refund me the 2 months of payments of 10$ per month (20 total). I even talked to the manager and she was unwilling to help me. I will take my complaint to corporate. 0 stars if I could. A bad review and a lost customer over $20.

Hands down the best PF I've ever been to. Glad to call this my home gym. I (used) to travel a lot for work for extended periods, so I've been to a few PF's in three different states, and the Hamden one is top-notch. All the equipment is in excellent condition, from the free weights, smith machines, and cardio equipment. Bathrooms are immaculately clean and always smelling fresh. Large location so plenty of machines of all kinds. Staff is friendly and takes care of the place. The air conditioning works well and keeps the place well ventilated. Highly recommended.
