One employee in particular, shorter middle aged white gentleman continues to give me a hard time as I try to go and work out. I pay extra a month to have the luxury of the black pass where I am able to bring one free guest. Today I bring my younger 13 year old brother with me and the gentleman demands my brother to show ID. I advise him that he is 13 and does not possess an ID card and that even his school ID does not list his birth date. The gentleman refuses to let us work out. Frustrated I walked out the gym feeling defeated and wasting my time and gas money.

It should be noted my brother has been a guest in the gym in the past when that particular employee was not working.

Long-term goer review. Place is very clean and machines are brand new which is nice. Staff in the purple shirts are friendly. The man in the black shirt, who I assume is the manager, won't say a word to you unless you're a woman which is strange. They unfortunately have limited machines (either one or two max) and one leg machine has been "out of order" for over a month, which is disappointing because I see many people wanting to use it and there is only one.

Don’t use this gym, they have shady and in some case fraudulent charging practices. No trainers at all in this location, and be prepared to be charged double what you agreed. Avoid at all costs.
Elevate u fitness in Ansonia is half the price and you get one on one training with people who know what they’re doing.

Jack was amazing! Honestly would not have gotten a pass if it wasn’t for him. I had come in at the beginning of the month for a day pass. He had mentioned a promotion that was begin run and it would allow me to come for a couple days. I ended up coming for the two weeks and enjoyed the gym. The staff is so friendly and the gym is so clean. In the end I came back and signed up for a black card with my friend. Definitely would recommended this gym to anyone. They have a great staff that is clearly knowledgeable on all the promos they run. 10/10 Customer service!!!

I would give more stars if it had a 30 minute workout area & an abs & stretch area. It seems like there are a lack of machines especially when I compare it to other planet fitness. The hydro massage chairs are also completely flat & I prefer the ones that have an arch to them. Other than that it's clean, parking is good, the equipment they have are in good condition & the staff are friendly.

Planet Fitness in Naugatuck CT was an excellent experience. The equipment was state of the art and clean. The locker/bathroom was large, clean & had many benches. Though it was a crowded time of day, it was not loud and the members were all respectful. No one saved 2 or 3 machines at a time like in some gyms. One gentleman even helped me with an unfamiliar machine when he saw I was struggling. It was a GREAT experience and I’d highly recommend!

So, I live in Seymour so I go to the derby location, but I was out in the naugatuck area so I decided to try that location for a day.. I will say, it is very well put together, it is clean, enough equipment to not have to wait, the staff is friendly, and I just feel more at home than I do at my own location in derby.. it's worth the extra few minutes drive and I will be back!

I religiously come to this gym because it is right by my house, they just put all brand new equipment in and it sticks by its motto “judgement free zone” all kinds of people from all backgrounds come here and since the new employees came in the gym is much cleaner. I have never had a bad experience and will continue my 3 year membership. Other than the fact that I wish it had some machines other expensive gyms have ( although it has similiar machines that target the same areas) I believe this gym does provide an extensive amount of equipment. The $25 I pay a month is well worth it!

P.S. the New Britain gym has a light therapy machine too!!! 😊

Mostly have good experience when pointing out pump dispensers and paper towels are empty but today for the second time I mentioned about the swipe laser shouldn’t be pointed up in peoples faces. The manager Jay was combative of an argumentative with me. Although I told him it was for the iHealth of people to keep it pointed downward. He told me it doesn’t move from where it is and I reached over and showed him how it pointed downward and it could still be swiped. I don’t know the reason for him to be so argumentative and repetitively asking me if I was having a bad day, which I was not.

I've been a member of the Naugatuck Planet Fitness for 8 years and thru those 8 years I've seen a few managers come and go as well as staff members. Then Elizabeth was sent to us and in a short time she has managed to return the structure and rules that we were lacking after being almost a year with a absent manger. Elizabeth has restored structure and rules of Planet Fitness. Elizabeth does not ask her employees to do anything that she herself would not do. She works along side them creating a team spirit. She is positive and friendly and professional at all times. I love have Elizabeth as our manager. Thank you for turning our gym around for the better. I hope you are around for a long while.

I have been coming to this location for a year now. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Very peaceful, laid back atmosphere. Equipment is always well kept and clean. Even the locker room is very well tended. Great place to get a good workout fairly quickly, as it is usually pretty uncrowded. Four stars, not five, only because of a week or two last year when electrical issues closed the gym unexpectedly.

I just had the worst encounter with this new manager elizabeth who when i work out the gym find out she had cancel my membership due to violating gym policy. She lied and said she asked me several time to removed my bag, when we only spoke today. As a travel Nurse who has used California, new York, norwalk, and Naugatuck locations she is the first to ever complain or talk to me about my bag. I would have understand if i was using a rope or something that was a liability but no. Only using planet cause it’s nationwide.
Meanwhile this location close early, doesn’t have kettlebell, heavy rope or dead lift machine and missing several important machine. As a new manager she should of been worry about making the place a better environment instead of worrying about the wrong thing.

I’ve been a member on and off at this planet fitness as I was in college out of state for part of that time. Since returning back to CT, the gym recently got new cardio machines which I was surprised about and enjoyed. I also want to shout out the front desk staff. I witnessed one of the staff help an older gentleman that was struggling to put on his coat and then have a nice conversation with the gentleman. It was nice to witness that small gesture of kindness from the young staff member.

Overall the gym is nice and so is the staff. However don’t sign up if you’re not in it for the long haul. The cancellation process is atrocious. I had to jump through way too many hoops to get mine canceled. Certified letters, emails, and phone calls. They didn’t cancel the first time I requested it. Had to try and cancel on 4 separate occasions. Also good luck trying to discuss it with a manager. Seems like they are never there or sick. I did eventually get my membership canceled but had to jump through a maze of hoops to do it.

This is a great location, the only issues I've ever had, and what has caused me to look for other gyms recently is the lack of bench/squat racks. Other than this issues its 5 stars. There are no free weight bench areas, unlike the waterbury location which has 4 free weight bench racks. The squat racks at naugatuck, of which they have 4, dual purpose as a one size fits all for bench, squat, hip thrusts area, and whatever else people want to do except for what theyre supposed to be used for... bench and squat. Time and time again, Ive come in to people doing weird work outs on these machines that could be done elsewhere. Cmon man. Get some more bench racks and put em in that yoga area.

My daughter is a member here. Was once nice but the staff doesn’t care like they previously did. We need the supervisors to take control of this gym. Please let’s make this gym amazing again. Planet Fitness Naugatuck is ridiculous. There is always something broken. Today it's BOTH urinals and 1 toilet in the men's room. That leaves 1 toilet. And the water fountain is broken. Once something is fixed, something else breaks.
I should have joined the Club when PF was closed down with "electrical" issues. 🤷‍♂️

Truly this place isn’t nearly as bad as people make it sound. Sure it’s not perfect “ they are going to get a remodel in the coming months it seems” but no half the machines are not down.
The staff is fairly good for what you expect. The place is clean enough to get what you want out of it. And it’s an easy layout and unless you go at peak hours “ 5-7” you’re not going to feel crowded.

The equipment is also broken and the place is never cleaned properly. Most of the time the paper towel holders are empty and forget about asking a worker to fill it because the are too busy socializing with each other. Additionally, this place has been closed for over a week due to an electrical issue and there has been zero communication to members about when they closed, why and when the expect to reopen-yet I have been charged for the entire month. Their communication is horrendous. Earlier this year I was told I could put my membership on my card. I’d get a random blank text each month for three months then finally found out my card wasn’t getting charged and they charged me late fees when we moved it back over to my bank. I did not get the credit I was told they would issue. The biggest peeve is last Thursday I get up at 4 am to find out the gym is closed due to an electrical issue that they knew about the night before. Today I get up 4 am, it’s been six days and they’re still closed! WTH. Where’s the notification?

I was ok with planet fitness until recently when they had an issue with the account and customers were charged twice
First time I called when I noticed the money put the guy was very nice telling me it should be back in 3 days
I called back in 4 days giving them time the lady that picked up was a lil rude so I figured maybe because a lot of people was calling and it was overwhelming so she told me by next week again I waited a lil longer so I called to find out more because I was tired of the run around and because no one was even bother to send a text or call to let customers know
The guy was talking over me and did not give me a chance to talk and when I was complaining he got fed up and hung up on me when I called back telling him that he should treat a customer like that and I'm need to cancel my membership he replied that I was yelling on the phone ( which was a totally lied ) and told me go ahead mam we will cancel your membership and hung up for a second time on me. I did not yelling nor sworn at him so I was just a concerned customer calling. I do understand it could be frustrating and overwhelming because a lot of people calling for the same reason but no matter what he should never ever treat a customer like that and he shouldn't be a manager

Not happy that Plant Fitness is letting teenagers from 14 on in the gym for free for the summer! Sometimes the gym is crowded with kids especially on the machines, it makes it hard to wait to use especially when their friends gather around and bs. Tiene pocas máquinas para entrenar, y hay que esperar mucho para poder ocupar las que hay. Por el resto todo bien no he tenido inconvenientes.
