The hydro massage has been broken for almost a month, and they’re only running one instead of two. The wait time is ridiculous — not worth having a Black Card at this location if they can’t keep things working. Tonight, someone was just sitting there on their phone, and when I asked the front desk to turn it on for me, she turned it on for them instead and told me to wait. Never had issues with other staff, so she’s probably new. the guy with glasses always does a great job, so I’m guessing he was off tonight.

The little 3 foot clown with a mustache who works there is super annoying and rude, guy thinks he owns the place and swaggers around like he does. And the old lady who works at night is always giving you dirty looks. Both of them are extremely rude and disrespectful and have said multiple offensive things to me and others. Just wanted to leave a crucial review about BILL. Today I ran in quick work was very busy I was tired!! I left my wallet with all my beneficial info and credit cards and a large amount of money, and bill called me and said he found it. I offered to give him money as a finders fee. I love that this gym is in very close proximity to my home it feels like a “neighborhood” gym the staff is nice. however as stated in previous post the bathrooms and equipment seems to not be well kept. it’s a VERY small gym which I don’t mind but the equipment is dated and the same machines have been out of order for weeks now. For it to be so small each wall in the lifting areas should have mirrors On them.. I go to the gym 4/5 days a week and MORE than half the gym is cardio machines that i feel are a waste of space. One side should be cardio and the rest for updated(new) machines. Many of my friends drive to other PFs nearby for this reason. The Ab workout room is VERY small the floor space can fit Nomore than 2/3 ppl comfortably. Some ppl have to workout in the hallway7. I’ve been to other PFs that have hip thrust machines, pendulum squat machines, T- Bar rows and more. If you are an intermediate to advanced lifter you will grow out of this gym quickly. I like this gym but it does need updating. I look forward to the updated layouts I see at other PFs!!

Nice facility, was trying it out but I noticed the the staff do not walk around and wipe down, dust, clean the machines and definitely not the male and female bathrooms while we were there. We talked to some of the other members to see if we wanted to make this our permanent gym and they also said the bathrooms and shower areas are always dirty.
We will try as guests again to see if we like it or not.

The Bristol PF was closed due to remodel so I attended this gym as it was closest to me. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted on the first day by the Southington staff. They immediately made me feel comfortable and showed me around. Every day thereafter, I was greeted and spoken to by all of the staff. Best of all, on my last day there I was offered a water after one of the staff noticed me looking dehydrated. The staff is kind welcoming and it was a true pleasure to spend the last 3 weeks in Southington PF. If I’m ever in the area, I will return. Thank you for making this adjustment as well as possible!! You guys are great !!

The manager Bill will hold a grudge against you, and will ALWAYS make it hard for you to work out from then on. Today was my core day I wore closed toe sides similar to crocs because I am not lifting nor using any weights and he followed me around the gym saying “mam” while I had my AirPods in to then express to me how I needed sneakers and he claimed it stated it in the handbook. I already reviewed the handbook which says “proper footwear” for the workout. He then could not prove or show me where it says sneakers, he then proceeded on to ask a manager from another location who was working out in the gym in the middle of her workout session if I can wear them. As a 33 year old woman I feel embarrassed every single time this man has done multiple things many of times and treated me as if I’m a child not a paying customer who has been attending planet fitness for over three years. He needs to learn some professionalism. This should be unacceptable.

It’s ALWAYS hot in here, summer or winter doesn’t matter. They blast the heat or don’t put the AC up enough. One look around the cardio machines and everyone is dripping sweat. My family and friends go here as well and all say the same thing. You’re supposed to sweat when you workout but it’s uncomfortable with how warm it is in here. Gonna have to find another gym to do cardio in if it keeps up

I went to this gym the other day and I’m not exact sure how all these 5 star ratings make sense to be honest. This gym has older machines on the inside and the layout kind of makes you feel like you’re in a fun house rather than a gym. Anywhere you look is a mirror and all you see is everyone else looking at you. The smith machines are always full with armchair weight lifters. The do one set and use my phone for 10 min type. I honestly didn’t make it past my cardio warm up and left. If I didn’t have a black card. I wouldn’t be a member to this gym.

If you want to work out this is an okay location. Came from out of state and wanted to try this location. Unless there is one elsewhere there is no Water fill station in the water area. The locker room was cramped (not people-wise, space wise). The pfExpress isn’t regularly monitored by Staff like the area says and people take up a single machine and leave, staff were not attentive as well; wasn’t greeted when I walked in. The facility seemed nice but smaller aspects were rundown. Stretching room was small and cramped compared to others I’ve seen. Spa was cramped and confusing, the facility is large but they don’t utilise their space well. Plus sides are the size of the facility, lots of cardio and machines.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. ESPECIALLY IF YOUR A FEMALE. I have been coming to this gym and it just is not a comfortable place. I will NEVER return to this gym EVER AGAIN. It is filled with elderly racist entitled men who think they know everything give dirty looks and say things under there breathe. The gym is very small and cluttered, if you're looking for ANY free space away from a machine to work out good luck! The atmosphere and vibes are way off in this gym, when you dread being in this type of environment it makes you not even want to show up. I have been to MANY gyms around and nothing has came close to the uncomfortability of this gym. The owner Bill walks around trying to mircomanage everything. Always walking through our work outs and interrupting VERY WERID GUY. One day we walked in and he was practically in his females workers face talking aggressively. I actually feel really bad for her because she looks so miserable being there every time i check in. This gym needs a new owner and needs to do better and get more space.

Today is the third time in 3 weeks that PF has been closed due to maintenance issues.
Once is a nuisance that can be ignored. Twice is a problem that needed to be addressed. Third time is unacceptable and your opportunity to resolve is very limited.

What will PF do to compensate? Two months free? Coincidentally, the monthly membership fee was taken from my account today, as it has been every month for years.

Southington is a close-knit community and moves as a pack. Your members are already discussing other gym options on social media.

The key factor has been the lack of acknowledgement that there is a problem. Never neglect the people who are paying the bills.

It’s been a few months, and PF hired a manager who has turned the place around quite a bit. In addition to being a genuinely nice guy, he runs the gym well. After all, we really only want 2 things…keep the lights on, and keep it clean. He is constantly cleaning, and directing his staff to do the same. It’s nice to see an adult in charge, not just a kid with a manager’s title. The difference shows.
Now, let’s see if PF is wise enough to make sure he stays.

First time coming to this gym and I was a bit skeptical because it’s smaller than the other PF gyms I usually attend. But when I say the staff are super friendly and the gym goers are so in-tuned with cleaning after themselves is immaculate. The staff and the manager Bill are truly helpful and resourceful. I really enjoyed a nice workout at this gym. Bill is truly wonderful and very communicative when asked about machines and extremely knowledgeable with workouts.

I've been a member for years and thanks to the new manager, a very friendly and nice guy, the place is always clean and organized. Makes for a very enjoyable experience. If I can make one suggestion, the Elliptical's are very clean, but when you're standing on them, the top of the elliptical, just above the display, is always dusty. When I am finished, I usually wipe that part down. Other than that, keep up the good work!

I enjoy planet fitness however this location I won’t be visiting again. The staff was so busy in their own conversation and on the phone they didn’t make time to ensure I knew how to use the performance machine. So I go in thinking it’s just jump in and start and once I figured it out was proud of myself: only to walk out and see I was suppose to wear protective eye gear which because of their conversation they forgot to inform me. I get talking because we are human and work passes by faster when you aren’t on auto pilot however, when a customer is in front of you, it’s important to give them your full attention so they can have a meaningful experience

It’s an okay gym. Always busy, not enough machines, staff is usually okay but most are teens that stand around and chat, but my biggest complaint- PLEASE turn up the AC. It is way too hot in there all summer and it makes me want to switch gyms. Nobody wants to be sweating barely into a workout.
