Can only speak for the morning crowd but seems like there's a strong culture of wiping down equipment/benches which is great to see. Planet fitness is a great value. It's clean, the equipment is nice and it's never too busy in the morning. However, the TVs are horrible!!! Sometimes they aren't on, the audio is spotty and they can't figure out how to tune into ESPN. Multiple members have requested it and they can't figure it out. It's 2025, we can land on the moon and Planet Fitness can't broadcast ESPN...crazy.

Larger planet fitness with plenty of machines and multiple free weigt areas. FYI: It's up a flight of stairs if you park by the Ace Hardware entrance. It was a bit warmer than most that I have been to but not unbearable. Renovations have started in some areas (cosmetic) but the gym is clean and all the equipment is functional, The men's locker room when I was there could have been cleaner.

I wish this place would crack down on the gym rats who hog three sets of dumb bells at the same time. Or hog the smith machine just to stand under it and do exercises that don’t even utilize it. It’s ridiculous. It’s also sad to watch people looking for weights and see one guy (sometimes two) have multiple sets around them. This isn’t your personal gym. I also went to use the adductor machine but it had a broken sign on it. So I used the machine next to it- the abductor. About 5 minutes in a worker came and started using the ‘broken machine’. I took my headphones off and asked if it wasn’t broken- she said she was saving it for herself because she was almost done with her shift. Unreaaaaaaal.

Absolutely love this planet fitness. Compared to others it has a ton of space so everyone is not on top of each other. This gym also has a lot of machines! If I could change anything it would be to add a hack squat machine and even though there’s already 6 smith machines, there is always a wait and I personally think we could squeeze in 2 more. And maybe a sauna if sky was the limit.
But besides my greedy wants this gym is wonderful and clean with a sanitary spray close by in every section. I highly recommend. Thanks for keeping us fit and giving us a space that allows us to work out in different ways!

This is unbelievable. How are you okay with this as a shower at your gym? I am really sad because it is right next to my house but I will not be coming back. I gave it more than a couple of chances. There’s no reason the water should look like this nor should it be overflowing with water after a 3 minute shower. Yall need to do better. I have a membership and can’t even take a clean shower.

I’m a regular morning patron at the Waterford Planet Fitness and appreciate the welcoming staff. However, I’ve noticed a few areas that could significantly improve the experience. Firstly, the cleanliness of the facility needs attention. The restrooms often have an unpleasant odor indicating they may not be thoroughly sanitized. The waterbeds, too, carry a similar scent of being inadequately cleaned.

Additionally, the water fountains are a particular concern for me. The removal of the filtered water station has led to water that tastes overly chlorinated, which is unpleasant to drink. More concerning is the water filling station that appears to have mold and visible residue build-up — a clear health hazard that has not been addressed despite the otherwise regular equipment cleaning.

I believe addressing these hygiene issues, especially those related to water safety, should be of the utmost priority for the gym. To illustrate my point, I’ve attached photographic evidence of the water station’s condition. I hope to see improvements for a safer and more enjoyable workout environment.

I love working out there, all of the staff are really professional and helpful. When I go there, I don't have to worry about looking a certain way or feeling like I'm dressing for school, although I still get tickled when I see a grunter every once in awhile LOL. With my membership, I am allowed to bring clients of mine to work out, which is very very kind, and something that are young adult population in this city should be doing. It would be amazing if I could get like a few days out of the week to come bring multiple clients there, it helps them so much more and so effective that I feel that the benefits would be so more outweigh the negative, that I would love to be able to have a fitness class there.

Friendly staff who remember your name, AC has been repaired and works like a charm, clean facilities plenty of open space and equipment. There's got to be at least 25 ellipticals and about the same with treadmills. There are a few machines that it would be nice to have a couple more of, but there are many other options to choose from to get your workout in. There's a small stretching gym section, which I love, with instructions on how to use the equipment, and yoga mats ready for use and a "30 minute workout" circuit room in the back. For you big spenders with black cards, tanning rooms and water massage tables and even a small lounge. No classes that I am aware of, but what do you want for $10 lol over all a nice place to spend an hour working on you!

Had to stop at this gym as I was on y way to an event and needed a local gym. The gym is one of the larger PF's that I have been to and is well laid out, very clean, the equipment and the decor is in excellent condition. Can staff do something about these two guys who always wear muscle shirts who are always trying to hit on me and other girls. They always try to comment on how I’m working out and give me advice and I just want to be left alone. I try to avoid them but they’re always there working out. They like never leave and never take a break. And they always leave all their weights on the smith machine and take forever to finish. I’m so tired and sick of it I go work out the Groton gym now. Hi I am new to New London living here for about a year. I joined Planet Fitness in Waterford Ct. I go about 4x a week. I have belonged to many gyms. The am staff is outstanding. They welcome you when you walk thru the door and are always available for any questions you might have . They keep the gym spotless. Upper management should be thrilled to have a great am staff.
What I find intolerable is the air conditioning being broken. It has not been working now for 3 weeks and have been told this is been an ongoing issue. We have had unhealthy air quality concerns and having asthma I am extremely concerned. I am thinking of leaving the gym.

This is not the worst setup for a planet fitness. But not the best, the cardio equipment is separated into two halfs of the gym so if you are looking to do mostly cardio for your workout you will have to move around to find what you are looking for. They have a lot of machines, but a lot of them are the same when it comes to cardio, not too much of an option. The weight equipment is similar as in its not all in one area you will have to walk around to find what you are looking for.

This place is a great place to workout to. Been going here for over a year now. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because they’ve been tolerating people leaving weights attached to the smith machine after they leave. People will leave multiple 45lbs plates and just leave it there for the person after them to deal with it and the staff doesn’t do anything about it. There have been so many times I see staff come to clean the area and it so obvious who has left their plates on the smith machine and the staff doesn’t say anything. We all know who it is. Yet the staff just lets them and it’s honesty changed the culture of the gym because we feel like the staff is just letting this group do whatever they want with no accountability and adherence to proper gym culture. I want to say something but it’s a whole group of them and feel like I’ll be targeted if I say something since I’m not staff. Please do something about it we’re all getting very frustrated with the people you’re allowing to do this
