I am extremely disappointed with the way my mom was treated at this Planet Fitness location. What happened was completely unnecessary, disrespectful, and honestly embarrassing for the staff who handled it.

My mom was simply singing softly to herself while working out something harmless, positive, and not hurting anyone. Yet a woman decided it was okay to report her. Instead of the staff using common sense or showing any type of kindness, they approached my mom in a way that made her feel singled out, judged, and ultimately made her cry.

What makes this even worse is the double standard. I constantly see other members having loud, inappropriate conversations including graphic sexual topics and people blasting explicit music, and nothing is ever said to them. But my mom singing quietly is suddenly a problem? That’s unacceptable.

Planet Fitness calls itself a “Judgment Free Zone,” but the way they treated my mom was the exact opposite. She pays for her membership just like everyone else. She comes to the gym to stay healthy and in good spirits, not to be humiliated because someone decided to target her for something so small.

Management needs to train their staff better, enforce rules fairly, and stop allowing certain members to get away with things while choosing to embarrass others. This situation was handled with zero empathy, zero professionalism, and zero consistency.

I’m a 5 am person. This location has always opened on time or sometimes a few minutes early. I came from LAFitness in Newington. Rarely on the weekends did they open on time.

The locker rooms are clean as is the general facility.

The front desk people at 5 am greet you with a good morning and a smile. Just a little thing. Compared to my last facility, where they didn’t even look up from their phone to greet you, shows customer service skills have been taught.

Unfortunately this has been a reoccurring issue at this facility for years. Despite having mentioned it, more often than not no soap in showers , curtains full of mold , lights inop etc…
Plenty of staff walking around but the above issues aren’t being addressed. Very inconvenient and frustrating for those of us who go straight to work after a workout.
On a good note though, for the most part all of the gym equipment is in good shape and fixed promptly when broken.

Today was my first visit to this PF. I have been a member for more than 15 years and have been to more than 10 different PFs (regularly visit 5 locations). This PF is the best one I have ever been to and I wish this could become the standard for all PF gyms. It was large, clean, and had lots of the equipment that I use and a huge selection of cardio that puts my home location to shame, especially the quantity of elipitcal machines. I love this Planet Fitness! There are always treadmills available, along with other machines and equipment, and such a non judgmental atmosphere. The membership is diverse and there are all different levels of fitness. Sam is an awesome instructor for the many classes available. This is my best gym experience. To the planet fitness owner. I really love your gym, however after reading some of the negative reviews I am compelled to add comments to mines. You have an older Hispanic woman who always has her hair pulled back and a scowl on her face. She is ruining the vibe of your facility. She is usually there mid- morning. When you read through the reviews about a woman being mean and not allowing regular members with their guests to enjoy the facilities that is the woman they are referring to. I will add her name when I get it. Not only has she caused members to leave, but she has also caused staff to quit. One employee who may perform tasks well but is not a "people person" can ruin your business. I know that my fiancee and I are seriously considering another gym because of her. (NOT COOL)

So Planet Fitness Wethersfield,CT charged me twice in July, once on 7/1/24 for my normal $25.64 and then again on 7/24/24 for $$30.64 ($25.64 plus a $5 late charge). Their answer to this was the original 7/1/24 of $25.64 didn't go through it got returned yada yada, but it clearly show that my account balance was indeed reduced my $25.64 on 7/1. So, I get the manager on the Phone, some kid named Alex, who is super unprofessional and should not be client facing, sounded like a teenager on the phone who basically told me " it is what it is", can't help me. I told if needed I would file a small claims suit for the lousy $30.64 and he simply told me " you do what yuo have to do" rather than say : " I'll look intothis further, we can meet to review you staement etc" and still couldn't offer any help. Super weird and unprofessional. Alex just said : " take it up with your bank"....Which I did. So since Alex showed no interest in resolving this, I am filing a small claim suit for the $30.64, which he'll have to push up the line to Planet Fitness Corporate...and hopefull lose his job for his incompetance. How Alex got hired as a Manager speaks to Planet Fitnesses pool of employees.

This used to be my go to gym, clean establishment, nice lay out for equipment and all of it. Until I had $300 dollars stolen from me in the locker room. I spoke with Alex who told me that a regional Manager will be in contact with me. It’s been over 24 hours and I have yet to have any contact or resolution to the situation. This is very upsetting Because this was the only gym and the local 10 mile radius that actually made me feel comfortable.

This place is pretty trash. They call it the "judgment free zone", but if you look like you actually work out at a regular gym, and then show up here, you get judged.

There's also a non-refundable annual fee that they fail to mention when I signed up...and then on top of that, when I did cancel at the club, the girl at the services counter didn't actually cancel my membership because I just saw another credit card charge 2 months later, so I had to do it myself.

Lastly, no benches or squat racks, and multiple times when I went, either the power was out, the bathroom was closed, there was no water in the water fountain, etc. Always something. Not recommended at all.

I have been a customer (with a black card pass) since August. I and my guest were using the massage chairs every once in a while and we were never told that “the guest” cannot use those facilities until today. In fact, we were told that it would be totally fine for the guest to use the entire facility as the primary membership holder and that is why we purchased this membership. However, today, a young lady at the entrance, told us that we cannot use the massage chair for the guest normally and as “she does not care” she allowed us to use the facilities. Her manner was very unprofessional and unwelcoming which we never experienced with other staff members before. I will definitely talk to the manager on this matter, and if this is correct then I will cancel my membership. We never had any issues so far with this location but we were never told before that we cannot use the massage chairs etc.

Rodney is awesome, encouraging, and kind. He gets to know everyone and it makes the experience great and welcoming. They got all new machines in the last year that are usually well kept up on. The Wethersfield Planet Fitness is a nice, clean gym with a full compliment of machines and weights. The building is a long rectangle instead of the usual Planet Fitness squarish building, but everything is there! It really is "no judgement" -- low pressure and friendly faces. The price is right too!

First & Foremost this gym has had a complete upgrade since Melvin has stepped in. Staff is always friendly upon greetings except for the old night crew who weren’t really attentive the few nights we’ve worked out. I have seen Melvin detail the whole gym as well as bathrooms. I don’t recommend this gym at all. In July, my stuff got stolen from the locker room and then I proceeded to get followed home directly from the Planet Fitness parking lot. A few weeks later, my sister had her lock smashed open and they took her stuff from the locker and left the remaining stuff scattered all over the place. The manager didn’t do anything about it and all they say is “It happens a lot.” Therefore, I don’t recommend this place at all, whether you have a lock or not, your stuff is not safe and neither are you yourself. They let any kind of people enter the gym and don’t care about anyone’s safety.

I originally signed up for the West Hartford location, but the Wethersfield location is as good but incredibly spacious in comparison. I like the fact that there is plenty of equipment which eliminates the fact that you have to wait on others to finish, and everyone cleans up after themselves Last but not least, it's a judgment free environment which will hopefully encourage everyone to stay in shape & take care of their bodies 😉 Well worth the price

Transferred membership from Bristol to Wethersfield. This place had only one water fountain that is out of order and the sink in the men's bathroom is falling apart. Toilet stall is gross. Same issue that was in Bristol. Out of order water fountain for over a month and the bathroom was a bit janky.

Otherwise the gym area has a nice open layout and seems clean. Nice equipment.

I’ve been coming here for a very long time. I also signed up my son to come with me. After years someone decided to say I didn’t signed a waiver. Wait someone followed me to the locker room. When I signed up we provide birth certificate and did a photo and signed a waiver. I told the manager who by the way said he wasn’t the manager in the store. Asked him if this is every year he said you never signed one. I then advised deff update employees on that is been years he told me this ain’t his store. Lol rudely.
