Loved our visit today to Sports Center today. It was a rainy gloomy day but my kids enjoyed the arcade and the prizes. 50 bucks on their card lasted about an hour of fun. Next time we will give bowling, lazer tag and miniature gulf a try as well!

We went on a Friday during the summer. The website advertised over 20 attractions and only a couple needed advance reservations so we took the hour-plus drive to have some fun on our daughter’s birthday. When we arrived we were informed they were cash only and only 3 attractions were open; mini golf, driving range and arcade. We overpaid for a bucket of balls in an attempt to make the best out of the situation and spent an hour in the arcade. Several of the games were out of order. The mini golf was not worth playing. If you decide to go, I would be sure to call ahead to make sure everything is open before heading there.

3.5 stars really. I've grown up in Shelton and have always loved the sports center, but it's definitely gone down in quality. The batting cages are closed now, the mini golf has certainly seen bette days, and half the games in the arcade are out of order. Can't comment on the rinks. The driving range is probably your best bet for a solid good time regardless of your skill level, but it's a bit pricy - $30 for a large bucket of balls. Clubs are provided or you can bring your own.
Sad to see this place going so far downhill. Little kids will still probably be impressed regardless.

Took the grandkids for miniature golf. They certainly enjoyed it but I have to say that the course is in serious need of maintenance. The driving range is excellent and a great place to practice your swing. There are other services available such as Lazer tag , batting cages, bowling, an arcade, ice skating, target paintball and party venues. Sometimes you even get lucky and the Walters hot dog truck is outside!

The mini golf area is located on a beautiful campus, and there are loads of additional activities. It was a really hot day, so while my family part-took in the mini golf, I hung around in the arcade area with my service dog. Thank you for an awesome day!

Took my two and four year olds to the arcade. They had plenty of games and the kids had a great time. Overall, was a great experience, but I would likely not return because I feel there are much better prices alternatives in the area.

My only 2 pieces of feedback would be....

1. The games seem quite overpriced compared to alternatives in the area (D&B, Chuck e cheese). Almost every game is 6 or more credits, which ends up being ~$1.50 per game or more, and most games are over so quickly. If the games were a little less credits, or if you got more credits for the $, we would be far more likely to return.

2. Young kids LOVE claw machines. I understand that arcades can't make claw machines too easy, but we spent far too many credits on claw machine attempts where the claw barely even closes. At some level, having the claws barely even close seems to be a bit unfair. It seemed they were set to be way too difficult. Even just one machine with super cheap prizes that is relatively easy to win would be a great addition for younger kids.

My kids have been attending learn to skate and hockey classes for over a year now and we wouldn’t think to go anywhere else. Coach Steve and Coach Ben make the classes so enjoyable for the kids. They build up their confidence and push them to their max. They genuinely enjoy seeing the kids grow and succeed out on the ice. My kids look forward to hockey because of these two amazing people.

What a sad state of affairs. Batting cages were great before 2020. Most if not all cages were working, and was fun to go and let off some steam. They used to be maintained well, and nothing beats playing outside.

I don't know if new management took over in the last few years or they are no longer making a profit, but the batting cages have been closed the the majority of the times that I have attempted to go. I noticed that most cages were closed in 2022, and now all of them in 2023 and 2024.

I just got back from there today (7/1/24) and the batting cages have a large "closed" sign over the door that leads to them, as well as a digital closed sign on the led screen behind the counter that shows the prices for the cages. Looks permanent, but I couldn't ask because the line was too long (maybe for the arcade?) and not worth waiting in.

If you can maintain the bowling, you can maintain the cages. Not just have an employee run out there and throw the balls towards the machine, but have a technician service it on a regular basis, as I would guess you do for the bowling and possibly arcade machines.

It might be time to sell this place and hopefully the new owner will have more energy, time and money to invest into bringing it back to life.

Its currently like playing on a single basketball hoop with no net. It can be done, but its sad. On second thought.. since the cages are fully out of order, its like playing basketball without a hoop.

I am so glad this sports center survived the pandemic! Tons of fun and loads of amazing memories playing lazertag, golf, and in the arcade with a wide selection of games to choose from. It's easy to get to, from rt 8 and rt 15, just off rt 110. Unfortunately the batting cages still need maintenance, but you should be able to call ahead and find out if anything is open!

We went to play mini golf. It was a bit pricey for how worn and easy the course was. It was unique in the fact that many of the holes had more than one hole to sink the ball into. They had some different things to go around and some holes with the tubes which made things fun. A bit tricky to play a few of the holes with how overgrown the shrubs were. All in all, we had fun being outside and playing the course.

Place has gotten really rundown. "Bowling" cost a lot ($30 to play one string on these kiddie lanes) and machines were inaccurately reading pins, plus there's a 25-second timer for each ball, which means it's 5-10 minutes of play time, max. Most of the batting cages are out of order; my sister put a token in, one ball came out then nothing. Went to the front desk to tell the employee that the machine wasn't working and he said he would send the ranger out; waited another 10 minutes and when nobody showed my sister went back in and asked for her money back. We had a gift card someone had given us but when my son went to use it to get a card for the arcade, he was told the gift certificate couldn't be used on the arcade. They then hosed us $50 for mini golf (course fine but very plain/nothing special). Will not be coming back here again; much better to go to Milford and hit up bowling there and the Dave & Buster's. Very scammy and the employees clearly know it.

If you have children who are anxious around crowds I do not recommend the open skate on Sundays at 1pm. It was complete choas. Several birthday parties going on at the same time along with 100s of people. My teen and toddler were so overwhelmed we had to leave. She takes lessons there and it's very well organized but open skate...we will never to back during that time.
