I enjoy going to SPYNE Pilates! I especially enjoy Mat classes, has help me with my breathing, stretching and overall makes my body feels good. The environment is amazing from the people that attend to the instructors. I recommend anyone to go check out SPYNE Pilates and try out the Mat classes and Barre strength classes.

I’ve been taking private reformer Pilates sessions with Simone since March 2025, and I can honestly say she’s the best instructor I’ve ever worked with. I’ve always tried to stay active, but she’s the first person who truly pays attention to form and technique in a way that actually changes your body. She doesn’t give out empty praise; she gives real guidance, real corrections, and genuinely cares about how each movement is executed.

Her meticulous approach has made such a difference for me, and I feel stronger, more aligned, and more confident every week. If you want an instructor who is invested in your progress and does things the right way, she’s the one. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love Spyne Pilates Studio. Both the Middlebury location (barre, mat, privates) and the Southbury location (reformer) are great studios with friendly atmospheres! Spyne has small class sizes (about 10 students for barre and mat, only 6 for reformer) so you get a lot of individual guidance from the instructors.

I personally attend the weekly barre classes in Middlebury, and reformer pilates classes five days a week in Southbury. If the studio is open, I am most likely attending a class. The classes are fun, upbeat, and a great workout. It's the only workout schedule I have ever actively looked forward to attending (even Simone's bright and early 8AM Monday class in Southbury). Bring water, you're going to need it every time!

I really appreciate how helpful each of the instructors are in their approach, it's really lovely how hard they work to provide a welcoming environment for students (they always introduce new or returning students, they make a point to greet everyone). Each instructor really gets to know their students, they remember important details (for example if someone requires a small modification due to a health reason).

You will learn a lot about yourself and your body. And! You'll find yourself incorporating the instructors' mottos into your day-to-day life! For example, you'll be walking through the grocery store and hear Liana say "shoulders down ladies!" Or you'll hear Simone counting out your breath work (in through the nose for 4, out through pursed lips for 4). Or Denise's way of slowly counting you down, purposefully keeping time. You'll find ways of incorporating your pilate lessons into other aspects of your life!

Each instructor (Simone, Liana, and Denise), all approach class in different ways. You'll find yourself wanting to take each of their lessons specifically for how they individually teach.

It’s really rewarding to reach milestones in any of the classes with any of the instructors and have them praise you on your progress. It truly feels like they make a point to know their students well enough to congratulate them when they improve in a difficult workout.

Y'all, four months ago I could not hold a plank to save my life and now I look forward to planks just so I can feel the difference in how much has changed.

And let me add for my anxious girls, if you're worried about the “mean girl” stereotype that seems to follow pilate studios, don’t be. Spyne’s focus is on form, fitness, and improving your flexibility and strength. Each of the instructors are great, they each foster a kind, encouraging atmosphere that you will see reflected in the students. I knew no one the first time I attended class and now I look forward to socializing with the ladies I’ve met at both studios. Trust me, you will make friends, you’ll have fun, and maybe (like me) you’ll learn to like planks once you discover your shoulder strength!

My first experience with Spyne was excellent, and I was genuinely looking forward to my next class. Unfortunately, on my way to that second class, I experienced unexpected car trouble which prevented me from attending. After some confusion of emails and a few phone calls they where able to comp us for our class!

The best thing ive done for myself in a long time is book a series of privates with Simone. She knows the body extremely well and within minute one, i was already feeling so relieved in my knee. She is a God-send and a true healer. 10 out of 10 highly recommend

This place is so perfect. As someone who struggles staying committed to a work out routine, I have fallen in love with this place and the teachers, all of the attendees are also amazing. I can feel the Pilates working, no dread when I have to go and I am really happy afterwards. I would highly recommend this business to anyone

So, I did a consult seven weeks ago and have been doing privates with Lianna and Simone. I decided that I needed to supplement my strength training with Pilates with one goal in mind, and that’s to do an unassisted sit-up🫣. Beautiful people when I tell you that this evening during my strength group workout, not only did I do a sit-up! I did it weighted 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. I felt like a baddie 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾. The class got completely disrupted because I ran around the studio and had everyone high five me!!!! My poor instructor now has to go buy stickers because I wanted her to put dome respect on my achievement😂😂😂. Anyways I truly am grateful for Team Spyne for working relentlessly with me to make that mind body awareness that I lacked. Also for putting up with my whining.

I have never taken a class in studio due to COVID. I have done several ZOOM classes. Simone is a wonderful instructor. She encourages you, helps you with your form and cheers you on when you feel like you can’t continue. I hope to take classes in studio soon.

I have been working out with Simone for almost 2 months now: I can confidently say: I see a big difference in My Strength and My posture while controlling my weight!
I used to run, spin and do everything cardio. Doing Pilates was a big change for me!

I’ve never felt this great doing low intensity workouts as I do now! At first it was hard for me to do the poses correctly let only hold them for what it seemed, at times, like the longest minute in my mind!
Simone will explain every set thoroughly by showing you the proper exercise then the modification ( in my case🤣). She will push you to challenge yourself, while avoiding injury!!
But:
What I love the most about Spyne Pilates is that I’m always challenged with new and fresh sets of exercises! Sorry I get bored quickly!
Totally recommend Simone’s classes for beginners or advanced and for everything in between (that’s me NOW🤣)

Pilates was new to me when I started taking classes at Spyne. Although I had done yoga, I quickly realized I had a lot to learn. Simone made the transition fun and educational, but also challenging. Through determination and consistency, I’ve been able to keep the pain and stiffness I was feeling (age, commute, sitting at desk) at bay. The classes have also helped me shed some pounds and gain strength and flexibility. Spyne Pilates is a local gem!
