About the Club

Our fitness and nutrition programs are for anyone looking to be a healthier, more functionally fit version of themselves. Whether you're looking to build muscle, lose weight or find a simple way to manage your health and wellness, we can help. Our members include: youths and adults; we are the area experts in coaching Division 1 and team USA athletes.

Our fitness programs consist of semi-private groups & customized online training (TRAIN HEROIC) for driven athletes and motivated adults. Our programs are designed to increase injury resistance, explosive performance, flexibility, mobility and muscle imbalance
Our customized nutrition coaching services focuses on a simple, habit-based approach designed just for you.

Working with Julie and Steve has been a life-enhancing experience for me. I wasn't incredibly overweight, nor was I someone who avoided exercise. But I was stuck. I had developed some bad eating habits stemming from stress, lack of energy and emotional fatigue. I always considered myself to be well-educated on nutrition, but there were so many things I had wrong. In the first 10-12 weeks I lost body fat and gained muscle. I feel stronger, leaner and more empowered. My energy level is way up and my skin has changed. Most importantly, I feel balanced and calm and more capable of handling everyday stressors, as well as the big things. For the fist time in ages, eating healthy and strength training have become my baseline; my default. In a weird way the most amazing change is that I just don't really think about food much anymore. It doesn't control my life, but fuels it. That feels incredible! This is the best investment I have ever made in myself.

I’ve only seen great results with both my son Kade and daughter Sofia while training with Steve for the last 6 years.
The experience and attention to detail he provides has been outstanding. For me it’s been more than preparing my kids for a particular sport, I want an overall trained athlete- he has done just that!
The experience has also been more than just physical training for my kids. There’s also the mental mindset which has helped create strong gains on the playing field.
An example of that, he’s a key factor in helping Kade reach his goal of playing D1 Lacrosse. If you have a kid in a sport(s) that you want to become stronger/faster Steve is the guy!

Before starting Strength N Honor’s Wellness & Nutrition program, I was struggling with how much food I ate and the quality of the food. I had a bad relationship with sugar. I had no idea where to start. Physically, my body was horrible. I could not walk to my mailbox without sitting on a bench. After being over 300 pounds on 3 different visits with my PCP for my annual check-ups I had enough. I was tired of having the doctor tell me to lose weight. On my last visit, when this familiar conversation came up, she told me she had someone to recommend. And that person was Julie.

Throughout this program, I am becoming more of a complete person. I am able to make food choices for myself, not for any emotion. I am taking steps to become healthy. Mentally, I feel better, more confident and good. I look forward to waking up each morning. In 8 weeks, I feel in control of my food and workouts. I went clothes shopping for the first times in years! My relationship with my husband has improved and I have so much more energy.

I am getting exactly what I expected and more. I understand why I reached for unhealthy food, how to create portion control both inside and out of my house (ie: holidays and parties). The coaching far exceeded my exceptions. Julie was available to answer questions, provide guidance. She’s so sweet and caring. I can feel her rooting for me from the bottom of her heart. That is honestly my favorite part!

Before starting Strength N Honor’s Transformation program, I was eating out 2-3 meals a day, every day of the week. I had very little energy.  I signed up because I was desperately looking for a change in my weight. In return, I gained so much more. Since beginning the program, my energy has increased. I stopped drinking soda and juice - a change I love because it’s helped me reach my goals.  I learned how to eat healthier and make better choices when eating out. I can say with confidence that Julie’s approach to starting small and being consistent makes a huge impact. I am more motivated for the day. Julie supported me in building on a new mindset, she made it possible for me to incorporate the habits into my life and schedule. I am determined to change and implement healthy habits for a better lifestyle. I was mentally able to focus on my goals. What makes me happy? The entire experience has been positive AND my family is on this journey with me.  This program has truly kept my accountable the entire time, especially with taking photos of my food (my favorite part). I met Steve about a year ago when he was doing some training at my younger daughters hockey program in Simsbury. Seeing the success he was having with her team, I spoke with Steve about a program for my older daughter who spends a good portion of the year away at a hockey academy and how she could train when she came home for the summer.

As the Spring came to a close, we came to realize both of my daugthers would be attending the hockey academy in the fall. Their training needs were to develop overall body strength, increase acceleration on the ice, improve agility, and endurance.

The girls spent the summer training with Steve several times a week and the difference on ice has been tremendous. Both girls are performing at a much higher level in all aspects of their game on the ice. Steve’s attention to detail when it comes to training is terrific—constantly correcting for small deviations in the exercise pays dividends in the end! The girls truly enjoy and benefit tremendously from his program and have developed life long exercise habits!

Steve was also able to customize the program to help my older daughter recover from Plica band surgery in April—Steve developed a plan to slowly bring her back to full strength through a series of stretching and strength building exercises that had her back on the ice only 6 weeks post surgery! After the summer of training she is at full strength and mobility in the affected knee.

I would highly recommend Steve to any athlete looking to go to the next level for training! He demands commitment and hard work, but well worth the cost and effort.

Working with Julie over the past 4 months has been a great help to me in many ways.
I came to Julie with a list of challenges and she patiently worked to share her knowledge and guide me to realizing many of my goals.
My successes with Julie include becoming more active on a daily basis, routinely hydrating for good health, healing a long term stomach issue and shortening my list of medications ( yay !!).

Steve worked with both of my kids, daughter 18 and son 14. They are very different personalities but Steve was great with both of them. Helped prepare my daughter for college sports. Every parent and kid that goes to Steve raves about him. If your son or daughter is an aspiring athlete, you really should consider sending them to Steve.

I have been bringing my nephew for 6 months now to Steve at strength n honor training and the results to be honest have been amazing. He has always been a good athlete but lacked confidence and typically would lose against stronger and more aggressive athletes. Matts confidence in himself was almost instant and carried over to the field very quickly. The work ethic continued outside of the gym as well. He is always doing a little extra at home to show off for coach Steve. The attention to detail and correctly training as an athlete has been amazing. 6 months now and my nephew still can’t get enough and is making leaps in ability on the field. When coaches comment consistently and he is this happy and excited to workout its heartwarming and well worth the drive for us. I cannot thank Coach Steve enough for helping Matt develop properly and intensely.

I signed on with Julie as my nutrition coach one month ago because I was in a rut that wasn't making me feel my best. My habits were restrictive and unhealthy, and I didn't know how to change them! Within days Julie gave me attainable small goals that were manageable given a busy schedule. She is always available when I have a question, and she gives great advice on how to navigate times when it is difficult to stick to my plan. I am eating more food more often and already feeling better! There is so much conflicting and fad based nutrition information out there, and it has been liberating for me to place trust in someone I know is creating sustainable change for me!

My experience with Strength & Honor has been positive! About 5 weeks ago I decided it's time for a change. My energy levels where so low and my eating habits where not good. My biggest issue was trying to fit in my schedule when to eat. I tended to eat about 2 meals a day, way to late and let's not talk about my sugar cravings! Since beginning this journey with Julie, she has helped me learn more what a balanced meal is and when to eat what. Plus she's sent me some great recipes!! It's been really nice having someone to guide me through this! I've really just begun my journey and hope to learn even more in the upcoming months!

I have been working with Julie as a nutrition coach since January 2022, and it’s been so helpful on my weight loss journey. Julie not only brings an immense amount of knowledge and experience but also a voice of encouragement that helped me stay motivated. I signed up because I needed help making a change in my life. I was traveling a lot with my job and had accepted some bad habits and practices over the last few months. She started off with suggestions and building small habits and soon (within a few weeks), I started noticing changes in my lifestyle and my waistline.

Julie took a personal interest in my journey from making suggestions on dietary changes, keeping me focused on the goal, and holding me accountable to my commitments. I met with her on a weekly basis and recapping what went right and where I need some help. I looked forward to the call each week because it was focused not only on my diet but also the other stressors in my life and she brought a sense of calmness and mindfulness after we talked. She would tailor her suggestions to my likes, for instance I LOVE spicy foods and she would send me healthy recipes for the foods that I liked to eat. This helped me stay on the path and journey to a healthy lifestyle.

After the 3 month plan, I have continued working with Julie and started adding the next level of focus and goals (macro tracking, cardio and weight training, etc.). My next goal is to continue to lose inches and pounds before a family beach trip in July. In three months, I lost 5.2% body fat, 22lbs, gained 8lbs of lean muscle mass and lost almost 16 inches! I am confident that I can continue to be successful with Julie shepherding me on this journey. It’s definitely worth the investment!

I've tried all the "fad diets" and "quick fixes" and the results were great, but staying on track long-term is what all of those were lacking. Since starting this new lifestyle with Julie as my coach, it's been so easy to stay on track and really focus on my mindfulness, which has been the key to feeling satisfied throughout these past few months. My son started training with Coach Konopka years ago as a freshman in HS. Strength N Honor training has provided him with a solid foundation which has developed and maintained his overall strength, conditioning, injury prevention and recovery. SNH has been a game changer. I have always been active and managed my diet, but I did it without expert help. The nutritionist and coach are amazing and there for you at all hours. It’s almost like having your own dedicated team to improve you mind, body, health. In the past 2 months, I lost more than 7% body fat, my running stats improved significantly (by minutes). My success is because everything is so customized, from improving upon my weak areas )physically) and making sure that the foods I enjoy eating remain in my diet. Every lifestyle change was done slowly and purposefully so that it was not jarring or overwhelming. I would HIGHLY recommend SNH to anyone. Honestly, I can't say enough amazing things about this team.

Unbelievable training and attention to detail. Shoulder pain has gone and I am enjoying a more physical lifestyle. I have dropped a few pounds but have lowered my bodyfat 3 % points and I’m feeling amazing.
