I’ve been coming here for over a year, and absolutely love this gym! Excellent assortment of equipment so you can get good variety in your workouts, with a good balance of cardio equipment and strength-training tools! The staff is all so friendly- I work out in the morning and love starting my day with their positive energy. The trainers (especially Bill) are both professional and effective, and take pride in their work. It’s nice to see an independent, family-owned business do so well. The gym does get very busy during peak hours (4-6pm), but with the variety of equipment available you’ll always be able to get in a good workout!

Sauna door is warped and doesn’t seal right and they don’t let you dump water on the sauna rendering it completely useless. You’re better off going to the ymca if you want a functional sauna

I absolutely love Surge. I've been a member of several gyms over the years and almost always find myself disappointed or unmotivated. Surge is the first gym I've ever gone to where I am actually excited to be a member, and look forward to going and working out. The look is awesome, the team is super kind and helpful, the equipment is great, it's super clean, and the vibe is really chill, which is one of the most important qualities a gym can have, in my opinion. I feel so lucky to have this place near me, and would travel much farther to go here if I had to!

I’ve been coming to Surge Fitness Center in North Haven for over a year, and it’s been a great experience! The gym is always very clean, and they have plenty of treadmills and ellipticals available, so you never have to wait. They offer a variety of classes throughout the day and evening, which is a nice option.

This gym seems to cater to the over 55 crowd, with programs like Silver Sneakers and low-impact classes. However, I’ve noticed a lot of college students in the evenings, likely due to the affordable membership pricing. The facility also has some great perks like hydro massage chairs, saunas in the bathrooms, showers, and tanning options.

One unique feature I really enjoy is the book swap, where you can leave or take a book. It adds a nice community feel to the gym. Overall, it’s been a fantastic place to work out!

Me and my son go to this gym because my son didn’t like gyms like Planet Fitness or LA Fitness. They are overcrowded and you always gotta wait for a machine which is always sweaty. Surge seems like it’s your own personal gym! Everyone that works there greets you and they have great customer service skills,
Especially Nate because he was so helpful and took his time with us. The whole gym is clean including locker rooms and showers. They have all the drinks you need in the vending machine and they only charge $2. They have classes, massages and much more! Thanks Nate and we will be back every week.

I have been a member at Surge Fitness Center since March 2022. I love the dedication that Jillian has put into this facility. I feel very comfortable here compared to other gym facilities that have multiple locations. This is a family owned facility. Love this place. Daily / monthly membership fees are very affordable. Gym quality is very good.. Nice, clean, everything works. The staff is great the only issue is they have a guy who cleans the gym he come in woman’s locker room when there’s women in there I don’t like that at all there’s times were I would get done using the bathroom and he right in the bathroom there was another time I was coming out of the suna and went to look in the mirror by the lockers and he on the other side in the bathroom peaking they need to hire a woman to clean the women bathroom not a man

The gym itself is nice & the staff inside is nice, this review is about the company they use for billing and subscriptions.
I signed up for a 6 month membership. One would think a 6 month membership means it ends after 6 months right? but no. they automatically renewed my membership even though when i login to my account it says "No" next to auto renewal. So i was charged for this month on the 9th. I called today, the 10th, to ask for a refund and they said no. So i said okay cancel my membership. I was told that there is a $37 fee to cancel, and that i have to cancel with 30 days notice. So I will be charged ANOTHER $37 for my month of October because today is the 10th & my billing is the 9th of every month, SERIOUSLY? I am leaving for military training and will be across the country and unable to use this gym. I'm disgusted by this company's customer service & lack of empathy or care for its customers, not to mention its military service members. I asked to speak to a manager or higher up and just got the exact same automated email response that was sent to my previous email. They do not care about their customers in the slightest and are only after money. Don't bother with them!!!!! i'm furious.

I joined this gym when the COVID rules allowed. Prior to that I was a member of a "mega"-gym chain. I have been extremely pleased. The addition of Gina to the staff was a huge win for this gym. She is welcoming - hard working - personable, etc. She is constantly sanitizing and cleaning. I feel very safe at the gym and cannot wait until I can move on to using other benefits of the gym, e.g., personal training. Currently I have limited myself due to COVID. Glad I joined this gym! Surge is extremely clean and respectful of the new regulations due to Covid-19. They have done an amazing job adapting to a very tough climate. I just went to my first class since they have reopened and it is great! There was ample spacing between the participants with a required sign up ahead of time. I can't wait to go back. My 2020 resolution what “join and actually go to the gym”.... I didn’t want to go back to the “other” gyms that I belonged to for many years until my 6+ hiatus!

I love Surge as well as the amenities that I have with my membership. Tanning, Beauty Light booth, and the Hydromassage. They have top of the line Precor equipment that has interactive screens- I am able to access my Netflix, and On Demand account on any of their cardio equipment on their main floor! No more watching shows on my small phone screen!! And not to mention, the owners and staff were very friendly in welcoming me as a new member. Definitely consider joining this new gym.
