I was just there the other day to see if they have changed and it still looks like they haven’t cleaned the place in years. How can management allow the staff to do nothing ? These gyms in Southbury need to start daily cleaning their gym facilities. I have also called multiple times and left messages on there voicemail regarding memberships . No one responds .

The facility is not clean. The amount of dust on the baseboards, and the workout equipment is the kind that has been there for years. They do not vacuum the gym equipment area or yoga room. The garbage can that services the coffee area is filthy and disgusting. There are also sewer drain flys in the showers, not to mention bugs and beatles living under sauna raised wood floor.
The hotel and gym managers clearly do not inspect and manage the facility.Save your 100$ a month and stay away.

Nice place and nice saltwater swimming pool which feels a bit fresher. Sauna and steam room were pleasant and it wasn't overly busy when I was there on a day pass.

Isn’t it AMAZING that one kind act of a human being can in fact alter the course of one’s day or evening. Coming to this beautiful health club is such a joy. Walking into this club greeted by “Joe” or “ Tristan” INSTANTLY changes one’s attitude because they are so Friendly, Helpful & Professional. Very much APPRECIATED !!!!!

Members don’t receive many benefits. Difficult to swim when there are swim classes going on for Noah’s Ark, and pool is often cold and not taken care of. Most of the desk staff are nice except Christina. She goes out of her way to be rude to members, although we are paying top dollar to use facility. Our fees should result in a warmer pool, and better staff. Kids aren’t allowed to use the jacuzzi, fitness equipment, or sauna/steam room, but are still expected to pay a normal guest pass fee. The manager takes no direction from members or hotel guests on how the staff is.

I used the Riverwalk Athletic Club while staying at the Heritage Hotel. I enjoyed using the facility. Indoor salt swimming pool wasn’t too big, but it’s sufficient. There’s an outdoor pool, but it was winter during my visit. Treadmills, elliptical, weights, free-weight, stretching, etc., there’s quite a few options. Jacuzzi, wet & dry sauna, showers, towels were provided. There’s a lot to like about this place. 👍 Staffs were helpful and friendly. Definitely would stay at this hotel again since it’ll give me access to this facility.

The Riverwalk Health Club is advertised as a relaxing place to unwind, but that's not what members experience. They rent out the small indoor pool for children's swim classes from 2 PM until early evening Monday through Friday. This leaves room for only two adults to swim comfortably. With the loud screaming, splashing, and kids jumping in the water, you can't have a relaxing swim or enjoy a nice soak in the hot tub. It's as noisy and crowded as a YMCA. Hotel management will not consider discontinuing the swim classes so these problems will continue. Unfortunately, pool maintenance is very poor. The water is extremely cloudy, and the filtering system is not functioning properly because there is hair floating in the water and dirt and debris accumulating at the bottom of the pool.

Locker rooms do not have sufficient seating. Shower area should have privacy curtains prior to each shower entrance. It’s understandable that because it’s also a hotel, the pools may get unexpectedly busy, however the indoor pool is almost completely unavailable weekdays from 9:30-12:30 due to water aerobics classes and they blast their music the whole time. I took a day off to relax at the pool and that’s what I walked into. In addition, they hold swim classes for children approximately 4:00-6:00 pm. I really like the club however these things are discouraging for me personally. I have heard several others say the same thing. :(

Renovations are great although they've taken a while to complete them. Can get very crowded in the peak season. Pool bar food is awesome and is cooked right on the pool deck
