Would recommend for anyone looking for focused and quality training. I’ve been getting hour workout sessions twice a week for a month now with my trainer Trevor. I really see and feel a difference in my performance. He’s knowledgeable and supportive in all aspects of my fitness which includes the nutritional end of things.
Granted the normal crowd is a little on the older side but I am 31 and feel just as welcome into the friendly environment.
You get what you pay for. I wanted to invest in my wellness and this was the best option I found. Don’t come here thinking it’s planet fitness or other generic gym pricing…
I’ve been to many gyms but chose to get trained here and am glad I did!

If you’re on a budget, absolutely don’t go here. Monthly payments for the gym alone were $61 for the basic plan without any training. They were going to up their prices when I left, so it’s expected to be more than this. If you add training to the mix, it was $360 for a once per week training session! You can easily find some gyms with a better price along route 5.
Biggest themes with clients at this gym were that they were older, had money, or both. There were very limited people there everyday, no more than 5 people at one time. This was the biggest selling point of the gym side. It was nice having less people than a regular gym, but ultimately, I found it not having much of a difference as far as workouts go.
The trainers are a mixed bag. My trainer I had was very experienced, a great talker, and knew what was best for me. Along with him, there was another trainer that said hello to me everyday I went and was very helpful. A word for advice for those who are looking for a personal trainer, ALWAYS go with the ones who are older. They have so much more experience and are less focused on moving onto the next client. The past two sentences are what I came up in my head while I was at Trax. Aside from the two aforementioned trainers, the trainers were subpar, at best, including the manager. Many rude encounters and just seeming zombie-ish. I asked every trainer to help me with setting up equipment for my workout at Trax and I had some beyond rude moments. One time when I asked one trainer to help me out and they totally slipped out the backdoor when I wasn't looking. I also haven't received a promised list of exercises from my trainer after I completed my training, stemming from my decision to move to another gym because of the prices.
All in all: two great trainers, okay gym, and very high price.

It is excellent training. I've been doing it for nearly 3 years. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It is somewhat expensive, but worth it if you can afford it.

I’ve been training with Adam at Healthtrax for several years and can’t say enough good things about him. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about his craft. I suffered a head injury which prevents me from doing “hard” workouts. Adam is very cognizant of this fact and never pushes me to overdo it or makes me feel incompetent because of my limitations. Instead, he constantly makes sure that I am feeling good and not overdoing it. If he thinks I am he stops me before I stop myself! He also works hard to come up with different ways to weight train that won’t affect my issues from the injury.
I was happy that the team was able to open Trax Training because I did not want to lose all the time that Adam and I have invested in my training and wasn’t sure if I’d find someone like him who fully understands my medical issues.
Trax Training is very clean, has a pleasant atmosphere and follows all COVID protocols. All the trainers are very nice, professional and easy to work with. If you are looking for a place to weight train, then this is it.

As a seventy year old woman, I never thought I would enjoy working out, but now I look forward to my workouts each week! The professionalism and expertise of the trainers at Health Trax is incredible and commendable. I've been working with my trainer Dayton for close to three years. I started working with him when I was recovering from surgery for a brain tumor. His knowledge of the field is extensive, and his ability to impart that knowledge to me has enabled me to become more fit. He has improved my mobility and increased my strength. I highly recommend Dayton and Health Trax to anyone!

When HealthTrax closed, the personal trainers got together and opened a small personal training studio in North Haven called Trax Training. Trax Training offers personal training and small group training. The new studio is bright and clean and has all new, state of the art equipment. Trax Training is my savior! The Trax Trainers are all very professional, respectful and a lot of fun! They’ll work with you to get the results you’re looking for. I’ve got orthopedic issues and Dayton is extremely knowledgeable about exactly what I should and should not do. He plans our sessions based on my needs and makes our sessions fun! He motivates me and keeps me in shape. He’s the best! Trax Training is in a great location with plenty of parking! Go check them out, you’ll be happy you did! Bravo Trax Training!

Trax Training…510 Washington Av, North Haven…You Rock!!
To anyone thinking about working with a personal trainer I say take the leap of faith & make that commitment to yourself and work with a Trax trainer. After talking with you and listening to what your goals are and what you want to accomplish they will develop a workout to your specific needs & wants.
The best decision I have ever made for myself was deciding to work with a Trax trainer. Exercising on my own wasn’t working out to well. I hated it and would never stick with it. That all changed when I made the commitment to work with a Trax trainer. I now love to exercise. Dayton has given me the direction I needed. He encourages, motivates & challenges me every session. He has made exercising fun and now I actually look forward to every session!! Dayton has changed my life for the better!! I would highly recommend anyone of any age to work with a Trax trainer. You will not be disappointed! 💪💪

Trax Training's team is unparalleled. The personalized approach to meet each individual at their level, understand motivations and goals, and to support you in achieving them is in their nature. Both my husband and I are training (not together - ha!) and could not be happier. The facility is well equipped and organized with out being cluttered. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for improved health, function and strength to get started!

Horrible customer service, I had my son in swim lessons. When they cancelled back in feb of 2020 with out calling me or letting me know. I was assured that they would let me know when lessons would resume, after they refused to refund me the money, they have started again and not a person has contacted me yet. Horrible they way they treat kids here I do not recommend.

I have found the gym to be unclean, with too many elderly members half asleep on the outdated equipment. The sounds noisy kids fill the air in the evenings. The lane pool is filled with non-swimmers and just floaters. I have found the staff is untruthful and unprofessional. They have withdrawn hundreds of dollars from my account after I withdrew my membership. They still continued to withdraw money even after being contacted. They refused to refund my money as well. Did I mention “embezzling?”

I like Healthtrax. It's operating on a slimmed down everything of itsself, but its understandable with the way things are because of this pandemic.i sure this time is effecting the bottom line. I just hope it can make it thru financially .its a great work out for us little bit older folks

I only went into it to workout by myself I have not done classes due to covid or any more workouts yet but when I visited I really am just basing on it on facility spacious clean facility nice staff except one rude trainer don’t know his name he’s always busy never used a trainer but he never really wanted to say hi I was just saying hi and he told me off nice equipment nice weights great stair master elliptical not so crazy about massage chairs feels weird but my mom loves it nice desk staff they really care a lot and give free guest passes which I used I don’t have a membership but maybe if I attend for longer durations then maybe maybe you’ll have me hooked in general better than a lot of gyms

We had a family membership for over 2 years. The beginning experience was great. Then, when the younger male staff member started manning the front desk, some weekdays and mostly weekends, our experience went down hill.. Mike was disrespectful to our kids and refused to allow them in when accompanied by our 18 year old daughter. We complained but his attitude was persistent. We ended up canceling our membership, which was about $150 monthly. We wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Management is lacking!

Clarifying the Orignal Review
I originally wrote a review complaining about the cleanliness in the ladies changing room. I'm revising to clarify, since Lia's reply suggests I don't notice the amount of work done by the guy in charge of maintenance--I think his name is Ben. I do. He works every single minute of every single hour that he's there and he keeps the place clean. He's a treasure, and I hope they pay him what he's worth. BUT what I can't change is my sense that over the last few months, the ladies changing room has been neglected for reasons I don't understand. And Lia may be right, it may be clients who are leaving the toilets clogged with paper (and worse) and throwing paper towels on the floor, but clients aren't in charge of filling the towel dispenser, which, until two nights ago, were pretty much always going empty.
Long story, not short, I don't think the ladies changing room is being maintained the way it used to be when I used to see cleaning women go in and out to keep it looking fresh. Ben, if that's his name, can't do that. Many of the women would freak out if a guy walked in and out periodically. But someone should be doing that throughout the day to keep the place looking better than it has been over the last few months.

Only used for Aquatic Therapy, but the locker room was very clean and same with showers. Staff constantly cleaning with bleach, which put my mind at ease when I forgot to bring shower shoes to walk from locker room to the pool deck.

Have been going for over two years now. I go to the group classes 2-4 days a week, depending on my schedule, and love the variety of what's available and the enthusiasm of the instructors. I have attended Zumba, Power, Kickboxing, Fight, and Active. I never felt judged or uncomfortable when I was new to any of these classes, the other gym members are very nice and supportive of "newbees", and the instructors help explain what to do along the way without showing things down too much for the rest of the class. At times I've also used the elliptical machines.
There are regularly people using the pool, sauna and cardio equipment, as well as the weights, which are spread out thought the gym. The equipment is kept clean.

Impossible to swim laps because people stand in the lap lanes talking. The only reason I paid that high of a monthly fee was for the pool. Total waste of my time! Equipment was up to date but I always felt like I was the youngest one in the gym! Mostly older adults!

Initially I really liked the gym, but they have removed the ladies only area which also included equipment I use for PT on my own. New location is virtually always being used by PT office that it shares space with so I can never use it. Same with therapy pool. Additionally I'm very frustrated with the utter lack of customer service. The constant excuse is that they are short staffed. However the membership is the most expensive in the area and considering I can't use the equipment when my work hours allow me to be there very frustrated. Will be canceling.

Generally, I prefer the equipment (and pool!) at the YMCA, especially the downtown Central Parkway Y. But the Zumba instructors here are terrific! Also, the Silver Sneakers instructor here is very popular, if you're into that. And if you ever need Physical Therapy, the group located in the back of this facility is fabulous.

A couple of years ago I would have given 5 stars but they have and continue to decline. Every day something else is taken away. Whether it is a class, equipment and recently they have taken away the daycare. This hasnt stopped the prices from increasing however.
Too bad as I used to live it but now have to move on.

Most of the workers behind the scenes are rude and barely clean the facility.
Mildew on walls in the shower. Smelly carpet in locker rooms, seems like there's always something broken, cardio equipment is fairly old, over all, just not well maintained. Definitely not worth the money.
