I have been working with Tyler on and off for going on 15 years now, and one of the best aspects about him is the consistency. He always has his programs ready on time, and actually lives what he teaches.
Tyler provides a positive and realistic approach to training. While other coaches may give you keys to quick loss, Tyler approaches training from a lifestyle point of view. He gives you all the tools you need to not just lose weight, but to also maintain a capacity for functional movements at any age.
If you have injuries or limitations, he knows how to adjust your movements so you can continue to train while addressing and improving those weak areas. I’ve been 300lbs twice in my life with numerous physical setbacks, and Tyler has always been there to check in, give me the corrections I need, follow up, and help me get back to a lifestyle that I can maintain.
A strong mind requires a strong body, and I wouldn’t be where I am physically or mentally without the guidance and support of people like Tyler in my life.

Here is my review of my experience with Tyler English Fitness in Canton. I opted to join and complete a 6 week challenge. Challenged myself to learn to eat- I have not been eating enough and my body has not been properly utilizing fuel for the past 2 years. I LOVED THE CHALLENGE. Being creative with meal planning was a challenge at times, but I came up with some great meals from my food groups. I was nervous I would never meet my 20 pound weight loss goal; however I exceeded my original goal, AND exceeded my edited goal. I ended up losing 27.2 pounds. I can tell a huge difference in my clothing. Do I feel better? I always felt great, but where I feel fantastic now is working out like a beast at the gym and being able to hold myself in a plank and do renegade rows!!. I feel great that I do not feel short of breath from two flights of stairs anymore. I mostly feel great that I stuck with taking care of myself and giving my body the food it needs. I feel so terrific that I have decided to join A SECOND 6-week challenge. I encourage anyone in the area to try this fun gym; you will not feel bored. I also challenge you to challenge yourself in meeting a goal that will enhance your life.---***UPDATED REVIEW: I went through a second 6 week challenge and was able to lose another 17 pounds. I had great support from my fitness coach Patrick Lawler. He is terrific. He is able to alter workouts when my knee is giving me pain, so I do not overdo it and cause more damage. The workouts are invigorating, challenging , and they work. I stay engaged and really enjoy going to the gym. I have come to this gym as it is in the midst of great change; there has been some adjustment to deal with as the gym moved into space at JCC basketball center. It is not ideal, but also not a bad space. It is essential to follow the food plan that has been laid out. You will succeed with weight loss, and strength gain.

I started the Tyler English Fitness Challenge after watching a video that was posted on Facebook by a friend of mine. I was intrigued by its premise and made an appointment to see what it was all about. After an orientation explaining what the challenge entailed, I didn’t hesitate to sign up. It sounded like the exact motivation I had been lacking over the last couple years to jump start weight loss and get in better shape. The classes themselves last 45 minutes and alternate between strength and conditioning days. They seemed really rough at first and my body was sore day in and day out. By around the end of week 2 my body was starting to get the hang of it and although the workouts were still plenty tough and exhausting, my body was adapting to the regime and the classes became more enjoyable. My instructor during the 6 week period was Jordan Fry. I didn’t meet many of the instructors that TEF has, but Jordan was pretty amazing. Always upbeat, kept the classes moving right along and always had words of encouragement to help push us along. During the 6 week period TEF has a meal plan that participants are to follow. For me it seemed pretty easy as I liked 90% of the food options. I did meal prep once a week for the entire challenge and that helped immensely. The time I saved not planning and preparing meals was a huge lifesaver. The weeks went by pretty quickly during the challenge and we had weekly weigh ins to track our progress. Jordan was there to make slight modifications to my meal prep on the weeks when I didn’t quite reach my goal. 6 weeks later I am 22 pounds lighter and feeling 100% better.
I would definitely recommend Tyler English Fitness for anyone who wanted a fitness regimen with a great atmosphere, friendly instructors and peers that genuinely care about others. It was a great experience.

Awesome place that will change your life and get you where you want to be. I served in the USMC and after coming home over the years put on 50 LBS and was not happy or healthy. 3 months ago I started going here and I am down about 15 LBS and feel great! The entire staff is friendly and make you feel like family.
