This used to be my favorite spot but something has changed the last few years. I understand why they stream classes- but I find the tv's and wires in the room kind of ruin the vibe :(

Wonderful, welcoming, professional studio! Everything about the studio is wonderful with such attention to detail...pristine facility with air purifiers in every studio room, welcoming front desk staff, excellent and diverse instructors, the professional Zoom platform, the commitment to 'giving back' to the community, and accessible pricing. Simply the best! Highly recommend Linda's classes; she makes yoga accessible to all!

WHY has been my yoga home since it opened 20 years ago. Over the years I have ebbed and flowed at times in my own practice, but when I come back to the mat, it is ALWAYS here. The teachers are fantastic, the energy very real and positive, and what they do for the local community super impactful. Recently I completed their 200 hour YTT training to deepen my practice. It was exceptionally well done led by Barbara, Jennifer and Jude. If you have thought about it, I highly recommend it.

Nice place with varied offerings... and a very reasonably priced monthly pass.

Only complaint is not great time options if you are looking for all levels yoga and work a 9-5.

Started attending classes here in 2018 and fell in love immediately. As an intermediate practitioner I felt the teachers offered options to take things easy and to advance. Studios always felt clean and organized and never smelly (hate when it just smells like middle age sweat at some studios). I continued my practice regularly until Covid when I moved out of the state. Came back to visit this week in 2023 as a more advanced student and still loved this place just as much.

If you’re looking for community, you can find it here. If you’re looking to be alone and connected to yourself on your mat, you can find that here too.

And! Free parking and good pricing! My favorite teacher is Jen :)

So love WHY classes, especially Barbara. She teaches from a depth of experience and practice and prepares the whole class to enter deeply into final postures. Every time I go I feel like the class has been designed for me. I love the sparse but spot on cueing - so my moving meditation is only interrupted to take me deeper. Great hands on assists. ❤️

All the instructors are unique and have something special to bring to the class. Staff will know you by name. Very relaxing and supportive environment for all bodies and levels. Classes can get very busy though. Overall, great experience.

Meh, very much your old lady yoga place. All levels is more like gentle yoga. The teacher was boring and talked in a monotone voice - no connection to the students at all.

Just moved to the area. Read all reviews and wanted to like this SO bad! Went and was unimpressed. Did the 30 days for $30 but I won’t be finishing it. To be fair, in my previous city, we had a SUPERB yoga studio that I went to which offered aromatherapy at every class (incense). I may be yoga spoiled but this is my honest review:

The good: it is a yoga studio that does yoga. It meets this expectation so I gave it 3 Stars. They offer multiple classes at the same time (restorative vs. power) so that’s nice.

The bad: first, this place is filthy. There is visible dirt on the floor by 4:30pm classes and my mat was truly covers in dirt and dust. They need to clean their floors more often...like even a Swiffer? My allergies always acted up because of the dust which made it hard to focus on breathing, etc. Second, it smells. Again, I might be yoga spoiled but I’m used to incense to mask the “sweat” smell. I actually bought essential oils for myself to use at this facility. Third, IMHO I also think the instructors in the power classes could offer more modifications for some poses. They offer a lot of “challenges” but I feel like they could do better with “if you have a bad knee...” or “if your lower back is weak...” I have a weak lower back that I’m strengthening through yoga but in the power I class, I never felt encouraged to modify to support my back, even though I did. It made me feel isolated as a learner and like I didn’t belong in the class even though the only other option was restorative/gentle yoga which wasn’t what I wanted or needed.

Bottom line: I will continue my yoga studio search and hope that Hartford has something better to offer than this. I really wanted to love it so I’m bummed.

I love love love this place. Its very clean, the staff is pleasant. The class sizes are smaller which allows for more one on one. I've been to a few other local places. They are at the top of the list!

My experience at WHY yoga is nothing short of amazing. Every time I come in for class I am so happy I did. The instructors are so knowledgeable and the practice in turn feels very restorative and positive. The studio is also beautiful. I highly recommend to any beginners or experienced yogis!

I love this place for many reasons. I used to come here every week during the lunch hour yoga, the power hour. As a seasoned yoga instructor and a long time practitioner i naturally have a bit of discretion. I love the backbone of this place, perhaps its the owners vibe that filters into the entire place but i always feel at home here. Ive never had a bad class here.

Large, open rooms, wonderful instructors, and a good variety of different classes! They have special events and it seems like there is a class going on.

I only went to classes that weren't heated, but the rooms still hit 92 degrees. Desk staff is unconcerned when the heat (and the gross, suffocating, stale sweat smell) makes you need to leave a class.

This place is really nice! I always shied away from Yoga because of the classes I usually took at the gym were more focused on other things instead of the principles of yoga. At this studio, they truly believe in treating the person like a whole being, and encouraging you to listen to YOUR body and not to compete the people in the room around you.

I usually go to the heated classes (Hot or Power), but I have attended Gentle and All-Levels classes as well. If you've never done hot yoga before, I'd recommend Carissa's class as it's a great foundation into heated room yoga. She provides a ton of different variations and options for beginners and more advanced students alike. Every instructor has their own style of teaching. Linda's class is filled with wisdom, breathing, and meditation coupled with movement. Tony infuses humor in the yoga flow which is awesome when you've just had a stressful day at work. If you like more intense classes, Nikki's Power class will have you leaving wet with sweat and feeling accomplished, empowered, and ready to take on the rest of the day.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this yoga studio. It has a wonderful atmosphere and great classes.
