I was at the Mayo Clinic with my sister for a surgery and took the opportunity to visit WIP Fitness. The atmosphere is excellent, the coaches are very friendly, and the gym is very clean. I attended my first kickboxing class and loved it.

"Work in Progress" WIP is a great gym! Local Owners, friendly environment, amazing Coaches and awesome programming! This personalized gym is for every level, from beginner to advanced. Classes change each week and completely new programs every month. Multiple class times are available every day, so you can go when it works best for your schedule, mornings, noon, evenings and weekends. Weekly class format switches up between Strength, Metabolic, Endurance, Core, and some classes are a combination of everything. Yoga and Zumba are also offered at WIP, and the instructors are excellent! All the Coaches are attentive, encouraging and hands on. They will give guidance on form and provide modifications if needed for every move throughout the class. “Come as you are, Leave a little stronger”. Thank you WIP!

I started WIP at the beginning of 2024. As a former college and professional athlete I know how to put myself through a workout but missed the competitive and team/community environment. I’m so happy I started with the very affordable 3 week trial. Even on the trial it felt like I was a long time member of the gym. I can’t say enough great things about the coaches and their focus on all members and community that welcomes you, challenges you, and supports you. The diversity in the workouts day to day and week to week keep things fresh and exciting. At WIP it’s true you “come as you are and leave a little better”.

I’m so grateful that I found WIP 7 years ago! I had just completed my graduate degree and was in the worst shape of my life. I started going to WIP and never looked back! The coaches are great, the workouts are challenging, and they are always happy to help you modify when you need to. It’s a great community and makes going to the gym fun! Thank you WIP!!

I'm not really the kind of person that goes to a gym, but WIP is certainly the type of gym which accommodates what I need. No pressure, do what you can, all while having fun. The team is great! Paul and Julia run a great shop. So much fun and the workouts are just hard enough to really test you. Highly recommend it!

WIP gets you in great shape by providing workouts that are fun, varied, and most importantly, easy to adapt to your own current level of fitness. The schedule is consistent, the pricing is transparent, and unlike most gyms, no one is trying to sell you on memberships or class packages. You are welcomed - that’s all! The coaches are positive and motivating without being corny and hyper. The community is really nice and supportive. No one is judging you. You can’t even judge yourself - because there are no mirrors! I love that! 😄

As someone who's been part of the WIP community for more than ten years, I can say without hesitation that it's a fantastic gym! The coaches and fellow gym-goers are exceptional, creating an environment that's not only friendly but also full of energy. Plus, with a wide variety of classes to choose from, I'm always excited to try something new. What's great is that it's non-intimidating, and they're super accommodating to all fitness levels and abilities. They really emphasize proper form, which not only helps you get stronger but also lowers the risk of injury. WIP Fitness truly has it all!

When my husband and I moved to WeHa we were looking for a gym that would fit into our busy schedule as working parents and to find a community where we could meet new people. WIP has not disappointed. It is a wonderful community where we have felt so welcome and has noon classes that fit in to our busy schedules. I'm the strongest I've been in 4 years and I love having a place where I can shut off and just focus on myself for an hour. Thankful for WIP!

WIP is fantastic! I have been working out out at WIP for 10 years. The work outs continuously stay challenging and can be modified to your fitness level. The coaches are awesome and the community is absolutely amazing! Always rooting for one another and high fives at the end will always bring you back for more! We are pushed by the coaches to constantly see and feel results. Always a Work in Progress and after 10 years will continue to challenge myself every time.

What I like most about WIP is that it is a community. When I walked in for my first day on a trial membership, I was greeted with “You must be Jen?!” They were expecting me and excited to meet me. Paul and Julia (owners/coaches) are friendly, encouraging and motivating. We do fun activities too, to build community like happy hour! Workouts are challenging and accessible, and when certain joints are not cooperating, coaches offer modifications and or stretching/strengthening. Also, 50 minute classes! Get in, get your heart rate up, get sweaty, get out! Convenient and fun!

WIP is the best! Great coaches, great workouts and a wonderful community of people.
I started working out at WIP about 8 years ago. Initially, the workouts were pretty intense for me and I only went about 1-2 times a week. Over time I’ve gradually built my strength and stamina, and now I’m at WIP 4-5 times a week.
I highly recommend this gym- the small class structure allows the coaches to work with you individually as needed, and they are always happy to give you an alternate exercise if something doesn’t work for you and your body.

I discovered WIP Fitness through a Google search and decided to give it a try on a whim. I am so glad I did! It is the most wonderful, welcoming community of people with excellent coaches and amazing workouts. WIP has helped me stay the most consistent on my fitness journey that I have ever been (EVER) and be the best version of me I could be. Whether you are a fitness fanatic or just starting our, WIP fitness has something to offer everyone. I highly recommend checking it out!!

WIP bootcamp workouts are great! I always feel challenged in a good way. The coaches are great at providing instructions and tips for proper form and any modifications when needed. Excellent bootcamp classes - even as a beginner i was able to follow them or modify as needed. Trainers are all very different and offer different workouts which is great, never the same! Other members are friendly and also help each other as needed - I really enjoy this gym.
The only constructive criticism I have is that the classes are very crowded - I only go on weekends - I think WIP has outgrown its space - not a bad problem for the owners but for the members it is - every class I have attended at various times on the weekends is packed and barely enough space for each person.

If you're looking for a judgement-free gym where you're surrounded by fellow WIPsters who will encourage you no matter of your age or size, this is the place. I've tried other gyms and bootcamps, but the programs the trainers have put together have allowed me to have the results I've always desired. Give it a try....I think you'll like it! :-)

Very great experience. Love all the trainers and all the other Wipster´s are very friendly. Also this is a very good workout that will make you feel accomplished after you finish the workout. Finally, if you want to get stronger this gym is for you. I have been going for a month and have already seen myself gain confidence and get stronger. Overall WIP is an amazing gym.

I had fairly recently moved to West Hartford, so it seemed like a great time to look for a new gym. I can remember googling West Hartford gyms or something along those lines, and to my surprise two (2) group fitness locations showed up as the highest ranked gyms in the area. One of course was WIP Fitness. I cannot recall exactly why I choose WIP to be the one I tested, but I can certainly say that was adecision I am extremely grateful for. I started just this past January, and was very hesitant that first day. It was a Saturday class with Paul and truthfully I had ZERO idea what to expect. I had NEVER done a group fitness class before. I was nervous about a number of things. How challenging would it be? Too hard? Not hard enough? I was also concerned about being a male going to a group fitness class. Would I be the only guy in the class? I had always assumed (incorrectly) that group fitness was really a chick thing. Whatever, I was going to try it, plus WIP had a free week program so I had nothing to lose. Needless to say that first Saturday was awesome. I got my ass completely kicked, but loved it. I was NOT the only guy in the class, and nor have I ever been. I felt welcomed, and very comfortable, immediately. I went to a couple more of the 5:45 AM classes that week and had an equally great time. I moved onto punch cards (going 2 or 3 days a week) until May. That was when WIP ran a promotion where for a great price you could have unlimited visits. That was really the turning point for me. I never initially thought that the workouts would be something I could do every day. Both in terms of difficulty and time. I certainly proved myself wrong. I can go every day, have an awesome workout, and accomplish all else I need to do that day.
WIP is an amazing outlet for me. For one (1) hour a day I have ZERO access to my cell phone. No one can call me, email me, text me, request something, etc…It is just me, against myself, trying to get the most out of every single rep, every single circuit, and every single workout. I get to shut it all off, zone it out, and just focus on me and the workout. This is extremely therapeutic. Whether I am sweating in the dark at 5:45 AM in West Hartford, or sneaking out during lunch downtown in Hartford (which I am loving) the hour or so I take at WIP is extremely important to me, both physically and mentally. I want to say thanks to all the trainers, who are all awesome, though Leah has the best playlist, by far. Further thanks to all fellow Wipsters as well. The gym exudes positive vibes. There is no place during the whole day where I see more smiles.

Great work out place. Get in, get a great workout and get on with your day. Great coaches, very knowledgeable and encouraging. For a metabolic, "boot camp", type of a gym it does offer a very flexible schedule. Good location and plenty of parking. Give it a try, will not be disappointed.
