I've joined many gyms in my lifetime, and Breakthrough is not just ANY gym. The owner, Chris Gray, and all of the coaches here take pride in how they treat their members. From modifying workouts to avoid injury; to encouragement and accountability, these folks treat their members as the individuals they are! They provide Nutrition Coaching as well - "you can't outwork a bad diet." I can't say enough good things about this gym and the people that work there. Give it a try! You won't regret it!

This has been the best decision I have made in quite a while in regards to my health. The LIFT Program has been transformational. I feel strong and more energetic. I have previously tried so many different diet and exercise programs/services…too many to name them all. Every last one of them failed me because they were either too strict or too lax, had no accountability or overbearing accountability, didn’t account for the whole person or life’s curveballs, and/or caused me injuries due to it’s extreme nature. Things were feeling hopeless. But then I came across Breakthrough Personal Coaching. They have been a Godsend! The way they have set up their program to work with you (not against you) and guide you through both fitness and nutrition is amazing. You can tell they are seasoned professionals and have done their research to personalize and help each client reach his/her goals. For the first time in my life I feel set up for complete success, not just for a short period but for a lifetime. I highly recommend!

I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis ten years ago. I have had many fractures (finger, foot, hip and femur) as well as a knee replacement and two major back surgeries. I have had different medicines to treat my osteoporosis (currently a Prolia shot every six months), as well as instructions to keep moving. I am an avid walker (at least 10,000 steps a day) usually five days a week and worked out at the Dover AFB Gym three days a week. Even with the Prolia shots, walking, and exercising, I was frustrated I wasn’t seeing any improvement with my Dexa scans.
Two years ago, I joined Breakthrough and worked out three days a week with the group sessions. Last year, Coach Chris convinced me to transition to the L.I.F.T. program. As Coach Chris often says, “just because you’re sweating and working hard, doesn’t mean you’re getting maximum results”. With L.I.F.T., more focus was emphasized on targeted muscles incorporated with weights and less on cardio. I recently had a Dexa scan and was absolutely thrilled that my bone mineral density increased by 7.9% and I am now in Osteopenia. I definitely see the difference in the way I feel, both mentally and physically. Coach Chris is diligent in changing my personalized training program to work for me. As a result, at age 71, I am able to continue exercising and improving my overall strength and bone density. I’m convinced transitioning to L.I.F.T. was the right move for me.

I have been a member of Breakthrough Fitness for nearly two months. Breakthrough was recommended to me, to at least try, by a very good friend of mine. I have been working out at various gym locations since I was in my forties, off and on, and now I am in my seventies. I was looking for a gym that could get as close to personalized Coaching as possible in my price range. I am at a place in my life where being as healthy and fit as possible is extremely important to me, so that I may maintain my independence as long as possible.
Breakthrough Fitness more than provides for me exactly what I was looking for. .Coach Chris, in a very small group setting, takes personalized care of YOU. From the day you begin at Breakthrough it is all about you. Your first meeting is a very open discussion on what you need to feel healthy and fit. Discussion continues on any injuries you may have that need to be watched and exercises modified to take them into account. He plans a program just for YOU. It is amazing, I feel better just knowing Coach Chris cares about my fitness as much as I do. I look forward to each session, even on days that I lack energy, I ALWAYS feel better once I have gone.
When you come to Breakthrough it is not just to get fit but also healthy. That’s where you meet Coach Karen and she is every bit as knowledgeable on nutrition as Coach Chris is on fitness, Coach Karen checks in with you all the time to make sure you have no questions and are on the right track to make nutritional decisions.. Coach Karen total understands that becoming your best healthy self is a lot of work, there will e setbacks but there are also lots of wins, and Coach Karen with her knowledge helps guide you through the entire process.

If you'd like a personal touch to your workouts? This is the place to go. Chris and his team work with you from the groud level. From there the sky is the limit. This isn't some personal trainer screaming in your ear to lift more weight. He and his team encourage incremental steps up emphasizing on technique and control, ensuring you don't injure yourself. Even if you have a bad back or knee problems Chris is a master of his trade. He will implement other ways to target different muscle groups without agitating old injuries. And will constantly check on your form and technique to ensure you're not agitating old or new injuries.
The other members are great as well. They'll encourage you when you feel like you can't lift one more pound, when you feel like you just can't do one more sit up. You'll hear someone say, "you got this." Or, "you can do it."
Overall this is a great establishment with great staff & members that will make you feel like family without a judgement zone.

BreakThrough is not like most gyms. It's better! I love the semi-personal training. There are a number of coaches. I work with coach Chris. He is always there making sure everyone is performing everything properly for the expected results and not causing injuries. Each person has a workout designed for their goals and abilities. The goal is NOT to see how much weight you can lift or how many reps you can do. It is about getting stronger, living longer and not having to hurt during or after your workout. Breakthrough is truly my happy place and I thank God every day for Coach Chris Gray and this community. I got started by seeing some inspirational posts from a work colleague ( for transparency I had subscribed to Breakthrough emails a year or so prior, so I had been lurking) but it really was my colleague TLT who really peaked my interest. When I watched her video, I immediately noted how strong, confident and radiant she was. I wanted that too (FOMO). This was the end of April 2023, I contacted Coach Chris and since that day, I have been hooked. To say I am blessed is an understatement. I have been on a weight loss journey since May 2022 and really needed the support to get myself in shape physically and mentally. I was a member of another gym ( still am lol but have only been a couple of times since joining BT) but there was no team , no encouragement, no accountability, no challenges, no coaching, no community all the things that BT stands for. I attend the Monday-Wednesday-Friday morning 5am sessions. This works perfectly for me. What else do I have to do at 5am. I love my 5am crew, from day 1 they have been welcoming and encouraging. My inspiration for joining, TLT, is now my Care Coach. Coach Chris as well as the other amazing coaches are always there during the workouts giving encouragement and suggestions too. So about the exercises, definitely not what you get at an ordinary gym, you know when you are on the elliptical 5 minutes and it feels like an hour, the exercise at BT is fun, tough yes but fun. You are always in a group that cheers you on and supports you, there are lots of high 5’s. It’s a 45 minute session. Who can’t do that? It goes so quickly. There is also a nutrition program that is as flexible or as strict as you need it to be and it’s laid out in a very intuitive, easy to follow manner. I think the absolute best thing about Breakthrough is Coach Chris does a warrior call ( yes we are all warriors ) on Monday night. The topic currently is how we always compare ourselves to our past selves or to others and how to break that cycle. It’s like a weekly therapy session! This place gives you everything. It’s really the best of all dimensions ie mind, body and spirit. I have had some amazing non scale victories, believe it or not, it’s not about weight loss. I have been on two trips since I joined. I was able to keep up with the younger crowd with absolutely no issue. Plus I didn’t need daily naps like they did 😂. My daughter commented on how proud she was that I had no mobility issues and needed no help for anything!!! What??? One of my favorite things is I can get on and off the floor with no problem, I couldn’t do this before starting breakthrough not even close, if I fell I was in trouble. I have seen so many positive changes in myself and created so many good habits. My head is in a better place. I am so thankful to be part of this family where I feel loved and welcome. If this sounds like something that may be beneficial to you give Coach Chris a call. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Modifications are always available. No matter your level of fitness, it’s about doing 1% better and creating healthy habits. We meet you where you are and I promise you will see improvements.

Joining BreakThrough has been life changing! As we all have experienced at one point or another, life throughs you curves, and after many years of caregiving for family members that needed me, I'm finally able to concentrate on my own health and well-being, which is stressed here. I decided to do a challenge at Breakthrough. I had no idea I would love it as much as I do. The workouts are awesome. I love circuit training. They have you work in groups which is great. I feel so supported through my workouts. Not only that, there are Warrior calls once a week that have really hit home for me. This is not just a gym. I am a workaholic or so I’ve been told. I have always put my family and work first and myself last. I’ve dealt with and still deal with depression at times. One day after spending an entire weekend in bed for no reason I asked my brother who began going to Breakthrough gym what he liked about it (pros/cons) and he told me there were all pros and no cons and that I should come with him one day that week and try it. Great community of welcoming people. No judgement if you're super fat and not fit speaking from experience hahaha they will help you with nutrition as well as accountability and I find the women's bathrooms are more than adequate for showering, blow drying, changing, and getting ready for work after the morning gym sessions. I work most with Chris and Della and cannot say enough good things about this place.

Breakthrough literally saved my life!!! I started in 2016 when I was feeling more uncomfortable with being overweight than I was comfortable in my lifestyle. It has been a slow journey of learning how to eat healthily and learning how to workout. I’ve lost 85 lbs and am now a coach. When I got COVID in Dec 2021 with double pneumonia, and was hospitalized for 20 days, moments shy of going in a respirator…I’m convinced that I would not have come home if I hadn’t have spent the previous several years getting my body into better health. I have struggled with being overweight my whole life. I have tried diets and even had gastric bypass surgery. I lost weight but gained back every time. Why? Not exercising! I hated it! I finally decided a few months ago after having been put on a blood pressure medication that I needed to change. I researched many different programs, tried a few and still was resistant. Then I met with Coach Chris at Breakthrough and I instantly felt comfortable and was ready! He took the time to get to know me and came up with a plan for me. My first day at Breakthrough I felt so comfortable, actually enjoyed working out, and was welcomed with open arms from all staff and members! Coach Krista and Coach Chris are not only doing their jobs, they care about each member. They are there encouraging us and helping us change our thoughts and behaviors. I started at Breakthrough just about a month ago and I have been blown away by how organized, motivating, and caring all the staff are. You feel like family as soon as you walk through the doors! I feel so great about starting this journey with Chris, Karen, Krista and all the fun people I have met during training sessions.
I was initially a little skeptical about whether or not I would feel comfortable joining a group fitness program again. But, it really is the way to go if you’re anything like me. I certainly have bad habits, excuses, and justify poor choices. The team at Breakthrough teaches you a fitness focused approach to improving self awareness. I can't say enough great things about Punch Kettlebell Gym!! I knew a few people who had unbelievable results that had joined but just figured it was too hard for me and that I couldn't afford to have a personal trainer. Boy was I wrong!! I went to a few classes before making the decision that I was worth the time, effort and money to become a strong, healthy 52 year old. I joined on June 6, 2014 and it has been one of the best decisions of my life. Not only have I lost fat and inches, I have learned how to manage food and not let food manage me! I have gone from a size 12 to a size 8 in less than 3 months!! Now let me tell you about the Punch family. Chris and Karen Gray are amazing. They are extremely knowledgable about training and fitness but much more than that, they truly care about you as a person. 2 years after having back surgery and going through PT
I could only work half a day before I had to sit in a recliner and rest for couple of hours.
I'm self-employed and being able to work only half a day was not acceptable.
A friend of mine suggested trying Punch Kettle Bell Gym.
So I signed up for 6 months because I was willing to try anything.
It's now been a year and a half and I'm still going to the exercise classes regularly.
I've had great results.
After that 1st 6 months I could work a 12 hour day, and do the same thing the following day if I had to.
I am back playing ice hockey, going backpacking and hiking, and my back feels great.
Invest in yourself, it's more than worth it.

I started Punch Kettlebell gym almost two years ago. I had gone to gyms here and there before, but never stuck with them. The Punch staff made me feel welcome and continue to make me feel as if my health is their number one priority. There are people of every age, shape, size and fitness level and it is not intimidating at all. Chris and Karen, the owners, make each and every one of their clients feel as if they are part of their family. They are very dedicated and caring and their level of expertise and instruction outweigh any fitness program I’ve ever tried before. Truly a life changing experience! I began here in 2010 weighing over 200 lbs, having no energy, lazy, and not being happy with how I looked. I didn't like shopping cause nothing looked good. I slept all the time, but was still tired all of the time. Chris and his team not only led awesome workouts, but they also taught me how to eat properly. I wish I had never stepped foot in this gym. I opened up about my emotional issues related to my past that caused me to soothe myself with food only to have that trust broken and to be treated disrespectfully as a woman. I felt very disempowered and it almost put me back to square one. I should have listened to my gut instincts earlier. Things and people are sometimes not as they make themselves out to be. I have never received an apology, never received my starting measurements, body fat & muscle percentages when I asked for them and only had part of my money refunded after my last negative review was taken down. There are other gyms/trainers that will treat you with respect and deserve your hard-earned money. I have been the victim of sexual harrassment before and would not wish it on anyone.
