We recently joined British Swim School at the Newark Senior Center, and it’s been a fantastic experience so far. The instructors are incredibly positive, patient, and genuinely caring toward the kids. Even though my son isn’t a beginner, they’ve made him feel welcomed and supported from day one. I seriously can not reccomend this swim school enough! My 2 year old son was enrolled in the tadpole beginner class back in June with Ms. Addison and my son absolutely LOVES her ! She made him so comfortable and helped his confidence grow substantially in just 6-7 weeks. Yesterday was his trial in the advance Seahorse class and his new instructor Ms. Maddie was fantastic as well! His skills have grown so much in such a short time and he looks forward to his swim lessons every week. Also bonus points the woman you talk to when you call to schedule (carmen) Is the nicest person to work with and makes scheduling classes a breeze!

Our son had started his first lesson ever about 2 months ago and scream cried the entire time. He quickly got over his fears and is doing so much better and finally having a great time! Today there were no other students in his class, so he essentially got a private lesson with his instructor, Taylor! She and the other instructor of his class, are always so great with him and are really finding ways to get him over all his individual fears and issues, like submerging his ears underwater and closing his mouth when he goes under. We are very happy with enrolling him here so far!

We’ve had both of our kids enrolled at the British Swim School for about three months now, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. After trying a few other swim programs in the past, this has been by far the most effective and enjoyable experience for our family.

One thing we really appreciate is how the British Swim School evaluates each child before assigning them to a class. This ensures that the kids are placed with others at the same skill level, which has really helped them learn and grow more efficiently.

The instructors here are fantastic! Every one of them has been patient, knowledgeable, and engaging. I especially appreciate how hands-on some of the instructors are—they take the time to give personalized feedback, pointing out specific areas for improvement and helping the kids work on their form and techniques.

This place is amazing. Having done several sessions of swim lessons elsewhere, the progress my kids have made in just 4 weeks here has been remarkable. The whole staff is such a well oiled machine, the instructors are fantastic, the kids get so much individual attention and valuable real time feedback. The team is amazing and give personal attention to kids. My 4 year old couldn’t even step in water in April and now in 3 months he is floating by himself for >30 sec, jumping independently and making great progress every week. I am so happy that was found British Swim School for my 4 year old daughter. The teachers are all great with the children, patient, class size is small and attention to child is individualized.
My daughter moved up a level after about 5 lessons which proved to me she was improving rapidly.

Great place for my lil ones. I got 3 kids in the school. I love the fact I got to share the lessons with my 19 months old boy; being in the water helping with the help the teacher is amazing. My 3 years old sons have not gotten in the water for 1/2 year, I couldn’t get him in the water by his 4th class he was much happier in the water. My 5 years old is having a blast. The teachers are amazing and so are the owners. Having that many kids the cost was a big factor to much that’s why it took so long to find a swimming school for us. But their do have discount for people like me. And I am very grateful for this place.

I brought my 3 kids to swim here and what a nightmare. There was 1 instructors teaching 3 kids who could not swim. 2 of the children were mine. The other student was not behaving or listening to the instructor, he jumped in the water and started drowning. The instructor was holding my youngest daughter (age 3) while this incident occurred and she dropped my daughter to save the other student. My daughter began to drown and my husband had to grab my daughter. There was no proper apology just excuses. Do not bring your child here. You do not drop a child to save another. Makes zero sense! I will NOT bring my kids here again and I advise you to take my advice and not bring your children here either.

EDIT: as you can see per their response there’s no accountability just excuses in the response of the owner. My daughter was DROPPED by the Instructor to drown. My daughter could have died if we as parents did not intervene. My daughter was terrified and crying. She DID NOT go back to that instruction. A totally new instructor came over and my husband talked her into going back into the water to change the narrative of her possibly being scared of the water. My children never went back to that instructor who dropped her. I would have never let that woman touch my daughter AGAIN! That is not swim safety, you also failed to release the name of the instructor in fear of your own business being effected. Your business is not more important than a life.

I only wish I would have signed my kids sooner! They were nothing short of AMAZING! Neither of our toddlers had ever attended a swimming class. I took the quiz online and it suggested we start at starfish. We received a text message asking if we had any questions and could even set up a phone call at a later date. We were able to select the time and place best for us (LA Fittness). It was super easy to read all the papers and make a payment through the app. When we arrived, they gave us the swim caps (she even taught me how to put it on my kids) and a bag with goodies. The teachers introduced themselves, said hello to our kids, and started on time! I had a blast just watching them. The teachers were smiling, singing, counting and just made class so much fun! I asked for their permission to take videos for my husband and they happily said yes! BOTH my kids were getting in and out of the water, floating, and jumping into the water fully submerging their heads in ONE lesson! They got a full 30 minutes of learning and had the teachers watching the entire time. I was so impressed, I signed them up for more classes! My kiddos said they loved it and asked when they could come back!
For years, I've stressed any time my boys were around water. If I had known, I would have done it sooner. I can't think of a better gift for them! As a teacher, I am very selective on what I choose for my kids and recommend to other kids. This is one I think ALL children should have!

Our son is 9 months just starting out his lessons and he's already so relaxed and calm. With more classes he'll gain the confidence to be an active little fishy. The lessons are a great length for kids being in the water so they're not so overwhelmed and the instructors are amazing at keeping everyone in a good and happy mood, parents included! We can't wait to move up to the next level!
