CrossFit Bear has such an incredible community! From the moment you walk in, everyone is so warm and welcoming — it truly feels like a family. I’ve been going to CrossFit Bear for a little over 6 months now, which is about 5 months and 29 days longer than I thought I’d last. As someone who usually prefers solo workouts (shoutout to social anxiety), I was super intimidated by the idea of CrossFit. But the coaches here are the real MVPs—kind, supportive, and magically able to correct my form without making me feel like I’m being judged on national television.
They somehow manage to push me just enough that I surprise myself by doing things I couldn’t even dream of 5 months ago.
10/10 would recommend—especially if you like personal growth, lifting heavy things, and being lovingly bullied into becoming your strongest self.

Join us one day and you won’t regret it! My husband and I moved to DE 3.5 years ago but didn’t really call DE home or feel we had anything tying us here/ a community here that is until we found the CrossFit Bear family ❤️ This community has truly changed our lives tenfold for the better in terms of our fitness levels but more importantly with the support system and amazing humans we gained through CrossFit Bear!
All it took was attending one holiday special event and I knew this was my community - as everyone was so friendly and sweet!. Beyond the welcoming and friendly individuals, there are absolutely amazing coaches who will help you learn movements/ fix your form/ be the best you can be/ give you any advice you seek. I joined a little over 2 years ago now having never done CrossFit before and the coaches helped me learn movements and scale for my needs. There are also amazing, detailed warm ups to ensure your body is primed for the workout and to prevent injury. There are also amazing owners of the gym who create fun social and fitness opportunities for members to participate in to bond beyond traditional workouts. For example, last summer many of us did a “PaddleFit” class which blends paddleboarding and traditional workout movements.
I could keep sharing all the reasons this is an amazing community but if you come to check it out yourself, you’ll see and feel exactly what I mean! It’s amazing having a fitness community like this because on the days you lack the motivation, you still show up to chat with everyone (and simultaneously end up working out)!

Dropped in to a Saturday class and received the warmest welcome from everyone. The workout was a tough partner one but a lot of fun. I got some excellent (and accurate) recommendations the best food and coffee in the area. I will 100% drop back in if I’m ever in the area again.

I have always been intimidated to try crossfit due to the fear of being too weak or it being too intimidating. I finally caved and gave Crossfit Bear a try and I am SO happy that I did! The workouts are great and really give you a good cross between cardio and weight lifting; it makes you push yourself harder than you would at a normal gym. The people and coaches also make this gym so much better than I could have ever imagined. Everyone is so welcoming and willing to help with anything you need! The community at Crossfit Bear is unlike anything I have ever been a part of and I am so happy I joined. If you are on the fence, just take the step and join, it is so worth it!

Having recently moved from the big city of Philadelphia, I was so accustomed to working out with my family & friends I struggled looking for a welcoming/family-like gym. Here at CrossFit its a one-stop shop, flexible hours, affable and consistent trainers and member's along with a whole lot of sweat an fun. Crossfit is more than losing weight, its strengthening all your muscles -pushing you to believe in all your other capabilities, I know I wouldn't have been able to do that without the help of the owner Quinn! She's a women of integrity and leadership. Ive been at Crossfit for over a month and everyday its something new and exciting and thats simply what I love about it. Fresh, exciting new challenges everyday! Lets be honest, the gym is an adults playground that helps you achieve all your goals without even thinking about what you're doing. Nevertheless, If you're looking for a place thats dedicated, determined and dependable this is the place to be!

I’ve been on the fence about trying CrossFit for a long time. After meeting Quinn and starting at Bear CrossFit I wished I wouldn’t have put it off for so long. The coaches are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The community of people that belong there are amazing to say the least. Everyone is welcoming and willing to help. I have been apart of Crossfit Bear for about 7 years now...and I still remember the first time I walked into the barn. Since then we have upgraded buildings twice and I have never had a doubt in my mind about Crossfit with my bear squad, we always have a good time at the gym and out of the gym with all out community events. Quinn is a wonderful coach and owner of CF Bear along with all the other coaches as well, they are always caring and try to help each individual athlete grow, while also trying to make the community better as a whole. The Bear Community is something that went with me to college and when I came home, it was like I never left (minus all the new members that had joined to make our squad bigger). There is no other gym that I would rather be at and I mean that with my whole heart. I joined this gym April 2016 and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My husband joined first and at first I was like “I can’t do that” or “there’s is no way I can lift that much weight”. Well I can and I have, and you can too. Quinn (the owner and head coach) is a genius at what she does. And she has a crew of other coaches that are very skilled at getting you where you need or want to be. The environment is very family oriented and you feel like a gain an entirely new group of family members. Oh! Did I mention we have a in-house physical therapist and nutrition coach? Crossfit Bear is a one stop shop, and we cannot wait for you to join us and become a more fit and healthier you!!!

After years of gym lifting, cardio machines and 5K's, I came to CrossFit Bear to try a refreshing, challenging and powerful method of achieving fitness. I can honestly say that I am stronger, faster and have better endurance at 32 than I ever had at 20. I can easily attribute all of this to CrossFit Bear and the amazing coaches we as members get to work with everyday. The programming for each workout each day is exceptional. Before coming to CrossFit Bear I had limited exposure to any kind of Olympic movements, or gymnastics but after just a short period of time the coaches were able to help make me feel comfortable with doing movements correctly and safely. The attention they give on an individual level is extraordinary. It's easy to think that CrossFit is only for those that are super fit but the reality is that it's for anyone and everyone. Outside of the amazing coaches are the members who after only a brief period of time become like family. Even on your worst days, it's hard not to leave smiling thanks to the people next to you who cheer you on through each workout and share sweat and hard work next to you. CrossFit Bear's cornerstone is "humble, hungry, happy" and those words couldn't express a better formula for all those who walk through CrossFit Bear's doors looking to accomplish their personal goals, and taking their body and mind to places it may not have previously thought possible.

When i started at Crossfit Bear i was intimidated and nervous. I felt that i would be judged since i had never performed or seen many of the movements that are normally done in workouts. I was wrong. The coaches are not only great at their job, but amazing people. Everybody is so friendly. It really is one big family.
Making a workout at the end of a long work day is sometimes the best part of my day. I look forward to it.
I ran track in high school and college and can say that i am in the best physical shape of my life now at 32 years old. I can do things now that i thought i could never do

I love going to CrossFit Bear! The coaches are encouraging and very knowledgeable. The WOD is always different so you never get bored with the workouts. I was a competitive athlete growing up but after school I found myself at a desk job and gained a decent amount of weight. I’m so glad I found Crossfit Bear 5 years ago and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. I lost 50 lbs and maintained it. Had a healthy pregnancy and modified my workouts to my comfort level and I couldn’t wait to get back to the gym after maternity leave. I’ve been back for a year now and I am almost back to my pre-pregnancy strength and weight. When I am not able to make it to the gym for a few days I not only miss being able to workout but I miss the people that have become more like family. No matter what age or skill level you are, you will feel comfortable at this gym. I'm in my late 50's and have accomplished so much in the last 5 years. I'm in better shape now than years ago. The coaches are amazing and take into consideration your individual needs as you work the program. On a side note, we have lots of laughs and support each other inside and outside the gym!

I've been going to crossfit bear for a little over a year now and I have enjoyed every moment of it. The coaches are very adept at guiding you when you are struggling and pushing you when they know you are not performing to your peak ability. Crossfit tends to get a bad wrap because coaches and gyms don't take the time to drill the fundamentals and work on perfect form. I can honestly say that is not the case at crossfit bear. Ever class has an allotted amount of time to drill in technique and the coaches encourage you to have perfect form before you add weight to any lift. They help work on your goals and check in along the way. There is truly a feeling of camaraderie and collective achievement at the end of every workout no matter what level athlete you are. Anyone intimidated by the crossfit name needs to attend one class at crossfit bear and all of that trepidation will go away.

I'm a pretty reserved dude - not what most would call a "social-butterfly," but I still really enjoy the friendly staff and members here. I've been to a few Crossfit boxes in my travels with the military but Crossfit Bear is unparalleled in it's unpretentious, welcoming vibe, and engaged coaching that I've come to find here. I started my CrossFit journey in January 2016 at the urging of a friend and current cross fitter. It was a humbling experience and I wasn't sure whether it was right for me or not initially. I was being challenged in a way I never had expected and wasn't so sure I was comfortable about it. I contacted Coach Quinn regarding my reservations with continuing and she was so helpful and sincere. I decided to continue and am so glad that I did. I have learned so much and have come a long way. The workouts have really made me stronger and have helped me to excel in my love for obstacle course racing. I am able to complete obstacles that I could not do before CrossFit. Along the way, I have met some extraordinary people who I consider great friends now. I enjoy the always changing workouts. I get bored easily with doing the same thing so this programming works well for me. I enjoy completing workouts with lots of encouragement, and love encouraging others. It is a great community. The coaches are very knowledgeable and will not allow you to complete movements that could cause you to injure self. They do a wonderful job modifying the workout when you do have an injury or have not mastered a movement just yet. Everyone is at a different level, but yet we can all work together and encourage one another. They also offer great programming for the kids. My kids love going to class and are very comfortable with all the CrossFit members and coaches. CrossFit Bear has become a second home to my children and myself. It is a wonderful place and I am proud to be part of its community!

I’ve been at crossfit bear for just over 3 years and it is a phenomenal gym. The programming is well thought out, varied, and differentiated. Every workout can be adapted to your needs by being made easier or more challenging to match your level of fitness. This was especially important for me as a beginner, an intermediate, and when I worked out through my pregnancy this year. Coaches are knowledgeable and give attention to each athlete to ensure safety and good form.There is a focus on technique, mobility, and injury prevention while still making sure you are challenging yourself and getting stronger and fitter. The facility has great equipment and space to use for everything from weight lifting, gymnastics, running and working with odd objects like tires. Finally, the community is awesome and supportive. Members are friendly, cheer each other on, and compete with each other to tackle each workout. We also have an excellent PT and nutrition support. I am proud to call this gym my second home.

I have been at CrossFit Bear for 2 months. At first I was completely intimidated by the simple name ‘crossfit’ but my first two intro sessions with Quinn really helped me realize that anyone can truly do CrossFit. She is extremely knowledgeable and a great coach. Quinn and all the coaches really help you focus on proper technique, form and are very encouraging. Almost 6 years ago, I walked into a barn to see what this CrossFit stuff was about. Well, I am still going to CrossFit Bear and now in a large facility with a knowledgeable coaching staff and a great community. Quinn has built a business out of her passion to help others and her assistance comes in many forms: physical, mental, emotional. This place has been my outlet for one hour each day. The one hour I can focus on me.

Crossfit bear and the coaches there have truly changed my life. Through hard work, dedication, and leadership of Quinn and her coaches have built a community like no other. Everyone there is family. We cheer each other on and compete with ourselves everyday. Everyone at any fitness level is welcome. I started my CrossFit life in 2016 and am still going strong. I walked in the doors approaching 400lbs on the scale and barely able to withstand a mild workout (or do a bear crawl!). I am now very proud to say that this community, these coaches, their nutritional coaching, and personalized PT services has built me into the athlete I always wanted to be. I’ve lost weight, gained muscle, and have an entire second family here.

The best box in Delaware *hands down* Facilities are top notch, spacious parking and SUPER clean. Very knowledgeable and motivating coaches. The people are friendly and so down to earth. Highly recommend!!!!

Quinn, the coaches and athletes are wonderful. They are so knowledgeable and patient. Always so cheerful and friendly. I was very intimidated when I first started. I am now learning that no matter how old you are, or what shape you are in, CrossFit Bear is for everyone. Everyone working out is so friendly and helpful. I feel so encouraged to challenge myself in ways that I never thought I would. Some of the exercises are modified for you until you are able to build your strength and balance. I love CrossFit Bear!

Quinn and the coaching staff are professional, knowledgeable and great teachers. They are patient and can break down moves so they can be scaled. Lot's of people hear CrossFit and they get intimidated, but CF Bear has a very welcoming environment for all fitness levels. Highly recommend you give this box a try.

I have been attending the bootcamp class for almost a year now and I just absolutely LOVE it! The coaches, the athletes, the atmosphere is everything I needed to challenge myself and bring my fitness to the next level. Crossfit Bear provides a very convienent way to get in the best shape of your life. The Coaches are very knowledgeable and patient. It is a totally judgement free zone and everybody gets a great workout. I’ve only been doing it a couple weeks but I’m so glad I made the change from the boring gym routine I used to subscribe to.

I absolutely love this place. I'll admit like most people I was intimidated by the name "CrossFit" I was never really active in my teens and 20's and I have no athletic ability what so ever. But the staff here is amazing they start you with wieghts and movements and goals that fit your ability and you gradually build from there. When i first started I couldn't do a lunge I couldn't even jog from one side of the gym to the other. But today I did 50 lunges and I can jog 400 meters along with many other things.

I joined expecting to train for 3 months; it's been 5 years now and they can't get rid of me. It's good medicine!!
The coaching staff is very personal with everyone and watchful during workouts, they focus on form and technique, never judgeing.
It's not just about workouts either, nutrition and practicing heathy habits are part of everyday discussions.
There's even a Crossfit Kids and Teens.

They really treat you as family here. The coaches are very knowledgeable. The coaches work on technique every class. The workouts are challenging, but at the same time designed to fit everyone's ability and/or modified as needed. It's a fun place to work out.

I've been a member at Crossfit Bear for the past 3 years. What started as a way to get in shape quickly morphed into a second home. Quinn isn't just a coach anymore, she's a friend. All of the coaches here are amazing. They are not only very talented and know their stuff, but they make you feel at home. I encourage everyone who's thinking about starting to drop in, look around, and see how we aren't just a gym, we're a family.
