Course was mediocre, fairways are on top of eachother, the starters don’t know what they are doing showed up for a tee time and they pushed us back and made us play with another twosome instead of the single we were paired with and sent another twosome in our place who we waited on all day and I could get over allllll that (didn’t I mention there’s no difference between the fairways the rough and the greens and the tee boxes look like a toddler is taking care of them) but I could get over alllllll that if the drinks weren’t astronomically priced. For example Odessa national down state is in 100 times better condition the green fee is cheaper and the drinks are probably 50% cheaper spent 60 dollars and a 6 pack of coors and 4 nutrls that is absolutely absurd I will never be back. Don’t even get me started on the parking situation and the “cart paths”. Worst course I’ve ever played.

Very high handicap friendly. Very wide fairways, not much to get in trouble. You can get out the driver often and don't have to club down due to constant lateral hazards like some courses. Staff is very accommodating. If your 4th cancels last minute they'll cut you a refund and they really go out of their way to help you out if you're running behind. Considering its a public course with an economical green fee, its in very good shape. It's my go to course and I highly recommend.

Just want to say i’ve been coming here for 6+ years, and while in the past it’s had its ups and downs, today we played and they made many upgrades, to the tee boxes feeling brand new, and releveled and seeded certain areas in need, and even replaced the fence between 7-8, it was a great time and genuinely impressed with the improvements made. Cart girl came around many of times, more than i’ve had in the past, which is always appreciated.

It's still golfing. I wish it was able to be kept in better shape over the years. Many trees and bunkers have been removed in favor of faster play and cheaper upkeep. Better that than close it and put up houses like so many others in the area. There are still a few fun holes to play. 6&9 on the front are good par 3's. All the par 5's are reachable so there's always an outside chance at an eagle on your day. I can be talked into going here for the nostalgia alone but it would have to be at the right time of day or pace of play becomes an issue

Can we take a moment to appreciate these amazing new golf carts? As a curvy girl, the plush seats alone have me coming back just for the ride! Delcastle is truly a hidden gem for so many reasons. It’s an excellent course for beginners and those working on their course management skills—challenging enough to keep things interesting but not overwhelming. The staff is always welcoming, and I’ve never had any issues. While the pace of play can get a little hectic at times (as it does everywhere), they do a great job addressing any concerns.

One of my favorite things is playing in the afternoon and chasing the sunset—it’s a beautiful experience. If I had one wish, it would be for the driving range to be a bit closer to the course, but that’s a minor detail. I’ve played here countless times, so this review is long overdue. If I weren’t already a member of my country club, this would definitely be my go-to public course for an annual membership. Delcastle is a fantastic spot, and I’ll always enjoy coming back!

First time, single walk-in without tee time. Starter (John) was very helpful and worked me right into a group starting in a few minutes. Nice course layout, forgiving rough, cut short; open off most tees, good greens despite the overall dry conditions. Barely got 18 in before dark and several groups including us were late returning carts. I felt bad to be late but staff was very accommodating. The pro shop and clubhouse looked nice, wish I had more time to hang out. Will definitely return.

These peaps were so friendly! Brandon greated us and gave us the scoop on the course. The starter George was amazing. The wives loved the way he spoke to them. We used all the sand George. What started out as a wonderful day with my son and his first time on a golf course turned into a situation where I will NEVER return to this course. We teed off at 4 pm and they paired us with another twosome. We explained that this was his first time on a course but that he had been to the driving range. We were staying up with the group in front of us through the first six holes but fell behind on the 7th hole. A group went around us to the eighth hole. When we reached the 9th tee, the starter approached us and this is where everything turned sour. All he needed to do was say something to the effect that we fell behind the normal pace of play and could we try to speed things up. (BTW, we were 10-15 minutes behind). I understand the need for pace of play but there was no one on the hole behind us that I could see. Anyway, he proceeded to lecture us for 4 to 5 minutes, telling us that we needed to play faster, he singled out 2 of the guys for hitting poor shots, telling us all that we should go to the driving range before coming back to the course, and saying that new players, if they are playing badly, should play badly quickly. I have never been spoken to like that in my life. Not sure what power trip this guy was on. You don't speak to paying customers like this. I was so hot, I knew that I was going to say something that might have gotten the other pair playing with us tossed off the course as my son and I were quitting after 9 holes. I did go in and speak to the only person behind the counter and he apologized and said that his behavior was unacceptable. My adult son who I was playing with called today and spoke to the pro who didn't really seem to care much. If you are looking for a good experience, go to another public course like Rock Manor, Deerfield, or Porky Olivers. I will never return to this course as they do not know how to treat their customers.

For a first timer, this course is great. Wasn't crowded, so was able to take my time and not feel pressured to hurry. I'm sure it's busier at different times, but Tuesday AM was perfect. My husband and I played a 9 hole round of golf last week during a weekday. The charge was supposed to be $35 per person. The pro shop employee did not give us a receipt. When we called Visa we found we had been charged $94 for 18 holes. I called and spoke to the pro shop manager who said he would correct it. Really like the open layout of this course. Usually well maintained. Nice little practice green behind the pro shop. Great driving range around the corner. Tee boxes good shape, fairways good shape, greens great shape. Overbearing with the course, if it rains a drop they revoke the carts and make you walk. Ranger is never anywhere to be found to enforce the rate of play. I haven’t been able to finish around due to logjams the past handful of times I’ve been there. Otherwise it’s a fun place to play.

Today was my first time playing this course, my first full 18 ever, actually. The course was in pretty good condition. I do have issues with how we were started however.

I had booked 2 for a 10:30 tee time. We got to the course early and practiced on the green behind the building to warm up. Around 10:05 we went to check in and were told to hurry and load up our carts. When I mentioned to the starter that our tee time wasn’t for another 25 minutes he replied “Around here, early is late.” As we were loading up in the parking lot, he found us and told us to go tee off at 1 and that people were waiting.

We load up and head to the first tee. There are two gentleman at the tee box as we approach. We told them to go ahead of us since we’re both new golfers. They went ahead.

As we’re playing through the 1st, a ranger approached us and told us to catch up to the group that we let ahead of us. He said that we’ve caused a backup and people were waiting on us, and that we were playing in a foursome.

All before my 10:30 tee time. No one told us that we were playing as 4, we didn’t even get cards. Just a hurry up and get to the tee box. Being a new golfer and being rushed before you’ve even hit a ball is a big turn off. It took both of us a few holes to get back into the correct headspace.

I understand pace of play, and play quickly. Terrible, but quick. This was too much though. I was seriously considering the 365 pass before we showed up. Instead, by my third shot, I almost returned to the clubhouse for a refund. Again, all of this happened before my tee time.

I’m glad we stuck it out though. We did catch up, and the other guys that we played with were awesome and helpful, even though I knew we were slowing them down. It ended up being a 4 hour round. No one had to wait on us after the first tee. That’s a booking issue, not pace of play.

Delcastle: Just a little bit of communication and some patience with your guests, especially new guests, before the round would provide a better experience for everyone.

First time playing this course. I spoke on the phone with Joanne to book a tee time. I requested to play 9 holes and asked if my wife could ride in the cart. She said that is no problem. She said 1 golfer and 1 rider. She was very nice. When I checked in, the gentleman said next time be sure to tell them she's not playing because we can't always accommodate her. I told the gentleman how I spoke on the phone with Joanne and she said all was fine. The gentleman did not believe me. He said she must have misunderstood you. The gentleman acted like we were an inconvenience to the golf club. This is ridiculous because it's Delcastle's fault they booked the tee time wrong. This just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Any greens that had brownout they cut holes away from it. Drives were an extra 20 yards after the roll out. If your looking for a good rate and a decent course Delcastle qualifies for both.
