As a team parent of 4 years and former coach I am truly disappointed in what this facility became. I feel as though I was sold into the home school day program with my child being one of maximum 8 in her group led by coach Kayla and that is not the experience we received or paid for. The second location became top priority in lieu of the children. We were discouraged as coaches to develop relationships with parents and as a parent I never received any feedback. I do not believe the facility recognizes the responsibility that comes with a full day program of managing children’s growth and development leading to strained relationships amongst the gymnasts partially in part to the coaches pinning them against each other as competition.We have decided to go elsewhere and have been happy to have coaches actively engaged, not on cell phones and encouraging the children.

Wow! The gym could not be better, it's awesome. All three girls love it. They enjoy going there everyday. The coaches have been great for them. You will not find a better gym or better coaches.

If your child moves into the competitive track, you’ll be impressed. The coaching staff is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. They take a personal interest in each athlete's development and don’t just focus on skills—they emphasize mindset, sportsmanship, and goal-setting. While they maintain high expectations, they balance that with encouragement and positive reinforcement.

Coaches and staff are approachable, open to feedback, and keep us well-informed on progress, meets, and expectations. They create a team culture that values both individual achievement and teamwork, which has helped my child grow not just as a gymnast, but as a confident and resilient person.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at First State Gymnastics. Whether you're looking for a rec class or a serious gymnastics program, this gym offers a nurturing yet challenging environment that brings out the best in kids. Highly recommended to any parent considering gymnastics in the Middletown area.

I highly recommend First State Gymnastics! Our daughter started out in tumble bees several years ago, and now is on their competitive team. The coaches are so positive & make it a fun environment for all of the athletes. It has been an amazing experience from recreational classes to competitive!

We love the new facility at First State Gymnastics in Middletown! We travel two hours each way and it’s absolutely worth it. The elite coaching is among the best in the country and the new facility is amazing. Our daughter has grown tremendously since joining First State Gymnastics and we truly can’t say enough good things about it. If you’re looking for a professional, high-level gym with top-tier coaches, look no further! Very happy and so proud to be a part of the FSG family!!

Wow—what an incredible facility! I recently toured the brand-new First State Gymnastics National Training Center, and I was completely blown away. The state-of-the-art equipment combined with nationally ranked coaches make this a truly elite training environment. It's easy to see that this facility will not only draw gymnasts from the local area, but from all along the East Coast.

My daughter has been training with First State Gymnastics since 2020, and even though we travel over 90 minutes each way, it is absolutely worth it. The coaching staff is exceptional, and the facility is modern, clean, safe, and inspiring. The new National Training Center raises the bar even higher. We're proud to be a part of the FSG family!

My daughter has been in gymnastics for 7 years now and is now a level 9. Through that journey, we have been to more competitions than I care to count and I have NEVER seen a facility like this! It’s better than anywhere I have been, including some of the top D1 colleges. The equipment is all brand new and the entire gym is built with safety, comfort, and performance in mind….even for the parents in the waiting areas. Aside from the facility, the training from First State is nationally and internationally recognized with top coaches and staff. Also, there’s plenty of places to eat and run errands in the area as well which takes the load off of home life while running to and from practices.

If your child is just starting out or you have a gymnast looking to achieve peak performance, look no further.
