Lately my daughter have been traumatized with the inconsistent scheduling at this gym. She started with the gym date back in 2018, grown to love going there on a weekly basis and she even spread the news to friends and family to attend. Regular attendee from 2018 to 2025 could give you a little preference as a customer right? I mean as it relates to scheduling. My kid was told the schedule has to change during summer time from Wednesday to Thursday which she voluntarily agreed to, with the understanding it will change back to Wednesday when school begins. Now school has began, was told she is not allowed to get back on her normal time and schedule on Wednesdays and to remain on a Thursday schedule which is not concrete with the time schedule. Note my kid has already lost a chance to continue her cub scout program which is on Thursdays and she cannot even get a solid spot to come to gym on Thursday after intentionally screwing her up for her regular schedule for Wednesday. This is an absolutely horrible customer service. Hopefully the owner will read this and make some adjustments. It is very traumatizing to treat a 10 year old like this and you actually triggered my PTSD as a parent.

Manager is rude & lacks customer service skills. Be careful because they will take your yearly registration fee, & then the next month 3 days after tuition is due/taken, they will change the schedule to one that does not work for you. Forcing you to either lose your deposit that they will not refund, or change your schedule to use your deposit for that last month. Slimy business practice. Also, while my daughter was attending, I saw them post on FB that they were hiring a trainer & that no experience was needed. Meaning they have people who have never done gymnastics before teaching your children things that could leave them paralyzed. I watched the owner scold one Mom who is a certified fitness trainer, bc she was trying to tell her daughter the correct form for an exercise from the parent watch area. Owner should have been scolding her staff for not training correctly to begin with. First State Gymnastics is a much better alternative!

Would not recommend. Their written policies/handook are bogus!! Safety protocols aren't followed according to handbook. My girls (6 & 10) were let leave the building not knowing if an adult was there to pick them up on more than one occasion. Attendance policies about missing a class & being able to "make up the class" is a headache. No lateness policy in handbook, but when we arrived a few minutes late (which we usually aren't late) but weather, traffic and an accident happened to be our reason that day, we were told we couldn't participate in class. My daughter was already on the mat participating before they even came and mentioned that she couldn't participate.

Our daughter started in the toddler/parent class and let me tell you she sleeps after words every time. Not that it’s so hard but it’s so fulfilling for her. Her mind is racing and trying so hard she drops on the two minute ride home sometimes. It’s a great experience we get to do with her and look forward to her continuing this over the years. Facility seems well taken care of and we always feel welcomed coming in. Coach Rhodes (I think that’s her name) does great giving personal time with each child and understands that they may not always do exactly what they are supposed to but makes it fun. Thanks for having a wholesome learning experience in our community!

We've been there for a few of our daughter's friends birthday parties. It's an awesome experience, where kids like my daughter can spend some time on the gymnastics equipment that she otherwise wouldn't be able to. We haven't participated in any of their classes, but I'd imagine they're great too.

My family and I just had the WORST experience at β€œGold Medal” Gym in Smyrna!! We went for a trial class and signed a contract that we would be joining the gym. We signed up 3 children. Upon arriving tonight, for our first real class, we were told that the classes were now full. We informed Coach King, believe was her name, that we had signed a contract with Gold Medal, for this night and these age groups, and that we were told they wouldn’t accept payment on the trail night because the kids sometimes decide after the trail that they don’t want to come back – coach king confirmed this- It wasn’t a payment issue- she informed us that her staff had completed the paperwork in error and that we were not allowed to join- even though- we have a signed contract. We were not even given an option for another night- My mind is blown!! We did not receive a phone call prior to tonight saying there was an error and had no idea when we arrived. We had actually held off on coming in for the trial class due to the classes being full- 8 kids- we started when we did, so that all of the spots were open. I plan on contacting the better business bureau! I am wondering how much validity does their contract hold??? We have purchased leotards for the girls, have changed our weekly schedule around, to make Tuesday night work, and have 3 very sad children! I work in the local community with hundreds of children and families, every day. If I was ever put in a situation like this, as a local business, I would have at least offered another option or tried to work with family to make it right- even at a later time?? This was a learning experience!

This gym used to have a good reputation but unfortunately is taking a turn for the worst. The woman who runs the desk has absolutely zero costumer service skills. At times it is even difficult to understand her. The gym is filthy and they have kids running the classes who have serious attitude problems. I think they forget that we pay for our children to go there. My daughter was in a class for 5 year olds for months after she turned 6. To avoid being rude I didn't say anything but after she was 6 and a half and they still hadn't moved her I asked about moving her and they simply said "oh she should of been moved as soon as she turned 6"..... not to mention they had zero ambition to encourage children to progress with skill level. For weeks I watched my child "learn how to do a handstand" when she is capable of doing backhandspring on her own. The woman who manages the gym- coach king- has told me she suffers from arthritis and can't spot- how do you run a gymnastics program when you can't spot? After confronting them about these multiple issues coach king told me it would be best if I went to another gym. That's really good business! Instead of trying to sort out my frustration she basically said if you don't like it, leave. The owner needs to get in there and start from scratch with employees- starting with the woman at the front desk. A smile and a "welcome to Gold Medal Gymnastics" is priceless. This woman doesn't speak or even look up when people enter the gym. And coach king is extremely unprofessional, unskilled, and sloppy. A few weeks ago I took my daughter to Parkettes- a gym in Pennsylvania which has trained several Olympic athletes. The coaches there told me she should be working on level 3 skills only. The coaches at gold medal gymnastics have her doing forward rolls. It's just ridiculous. I would give it a few months before the scummy place goes completely out of business. Probably better off.
