Customer service needs improvement. Upon registering for the $1 trial, a cancellation fee was never mentioned. While inquiring to end our daughter’s membership is when we found out that we would still be charged for 60 days even though she would no longer be able to attend. I tried contacting the owner about this issue several times in hopes to stop the payments from being withdrawn and to get a reimbursement but he has consistently ignored my request and will not respond to my voicemails or text messages. If they have a 60-day hold for cancellations, it should be explained to everyone BEFORE they sign up. Not when they’re ready to unsubscribe. I will have to contact our bank to resolve this issue since no one at the facility will contact me.

Not a fan. Bad management. Charged well past 90 day notice and was promised back refund, which never happened. Speaking with other patrons, this was common when wanting to terminate membership. Also, bad management was exacerbated with some drama behind the scenes with instructors being taken advantage of in multiple ways that do not care to get into. It was really bad.

The instructors are top notch. Our son started at Kaizen in 2016 and continues to study Tang Soo Do. Even through the pandemic, they have never lost touch with their students and families. Through technology, they are able to offer classes online and on-demand support with feedback of student videos. We highly recommend joining the Kaizen family.

UPDATE - Hands down the best karate academy in Dover! My kids never stopped training during Covid restrictions. Kaizen made sure they could train via Zoom and even offered private lessons. As a mom of two kids with underlying health issues, keeping them safe and active is a high priority and Kaizen has definitely helped with that!

I just joined their program the beginning of this month. I have known 2 of the instructors, Chris and Mike, from time well before they came here to teach. Both are excellent and extremely knowledgeable people both on and off the mats. I would highly recommend giving them a shot for all of your mixed martial arts needs.

Kaizen is one of the best choices we made after moving to Delaware. We thought karate would keep our son active and teach him self defense, but it ended up being much more- classes, summer camp, day camp on some holidays, parent’s night out, halloween and Christmas events- he became part of a community and I fully trust the staff to leave him in their care. It’s amazing how much respect the kids show the staff, they’re so kind yet the kids know what behavior is expected when they walk through the doors. The bully seminars and women’s self defense class are great as well!

My family has been a part of this school for 7 years. It started with our children (now 11 and 9), but then my wife and I saw how much fun they were having and began taking lessons as well.
