Do not sign up with planet fitness. They will promise you access to every gym in the country, and in my case that has not been honored, but they will keep debiting their dues regardless, and make it very difficult to cancel by making you return or send a letter to the home gym, to buy themselves time to keep taking money. Im not going to update my payment information. Planet fitness will be lucky if i dont file a claim against them for stealing hundreds of dollars from my account. I signed up in Dover, NH nearly 2 years ago. I signed up because the employees there sold me on the black card memebership. Promising me access to all 2700+ of their gyms nationwide. It is the only reason I signed up. I left New Hampshire in August of 2024. I was first denied access at a planet fitness in Chicago. After leaving New Hampshire, and not visiting a planet fitness for several weeks. I tried using my memebership at a gym in Chicago. All of a sudden, when i tried to log onto the ap to show my membership. My login credentials, that I know were correct, wouldn't log me on, and the gym couldn't pull me up using my name, phone number, or any information i gave. I was turned away. This was the first violation of my membership with planet fitness. I tried several times to get access to the app after this unsuccessfully, including contacting the orgional gym i signed up with. Not only did they not reslove the issue with me not being able to sign in, but they brushed it off and gave me some number for a technical support team who was supposed to help me with my sign on issues, except it never happened. I moved on, because i travel alot, and ended up using the membership at a few differnet locations during my travels with no major issues. I took a job in Colorado, and when i moved there, tried using the membership several times in and around the Denver area. I was denied access at every gym i tried in colorado, except 1 near colorado springs, and one in Lakewood, CO. I tried at least a half dozen other locations in and around the denver area, all of which denied me access. The story at every location was the same. They would state that they are privately owned, and I would need the app, to prove my membership which orgionated in Dover. At 1 of the gyms. I spoke with the franchise owner of that location, who was incredibly rude, and stated to me that it didn't matter where I signed up. Since i didn't sign up there, he had the right to deny anyone access he chose. He even called the police on me, when i tried to reason with him on the plan i signed up on. It would seem like a smiple fix to get my app on line and working properly. Except when i reached out to this technical support. They only gave me the run around, and told me, i would have to go back to the gym i signed up with to get the issue resolved. That was not possible for me, considering i lived half way across the country by this point. I then called the Dover location, and told them, if i could not get the app error situated remotely, i had no interest in being a member any further. They told me, I would have to come in to cancel, or send an official notarized letter to cancel. By this time, i had payed for a membership at a local recreation center, and honestly, with time, forgot about it all together. I forgot planet fitness was still even charging my card every month, until finally a couple of weeks ago, when planet fitness debited my last $25 i had that week for gas. I was livid, and im tired of playing this game with planet fitness. This company has robbed me for the better part of 2 years, and i've barely even utilized the membership. Not only am i not updating my payment info, but i will make sure that planet fitness will never get another dollar from me again. And i'll be talking to a lawyer to see what my rights are for the money that has been STOLEN. I don't see how you can offer access to every gym, and not make sire that is honor it, regsrdless of circumstances, if a customer is paying.

I used to enjoy coming to this gym because it was close to my house and seemed clean and orderly, but now the main machine I use is next to an ab machine with guys who cuss and are loud the whole time. I’ll probably just go to Smyrna or Milford even though both are 20/30 minutes out of the way.

Planet Fitness of Dover is what you can expect from a budget gym in Delaware. Kind people working out, relatively clean and helpful staff. It has the Total Body which is nice but they only have one unlike Milford and Salisbury Planet Fitnesses. My main issue is their choice of elliptical. The gym bought new equipment but they bought Life Fitness ellipticals which are horrible. They're stride is too large for a average woman's height, and the diameter is low, causing your knees to lock. Life Fitness knows about their substandard ellipticals and yet they still get money. They aren't like Precor ellipticals like at the Seaford Planet Fitness which are better, more accurate, adjustable and have better tension and calculate age as well. But because they are new I guess they are here to stay for a while although I've noticed less people on them most likely for the same reasons I'm not able to use them anymore. Ellipticals are what I look for so if another gym pops up in the area with better ellipticals I'd go elsewhere but so far everything else at Planet Fitness in Dover is fine.

This is a great location, clean, and well equipped. Unfortunately the ceiling fan that was not working for a couple of months was recently repaired or replaced and there is now a strong odor in the gym that set my sinuses on fire. Swollen sinuses for the rest of the night. I didnt take any meds and woke up ok with no swelling. I wonder if anyone else experienced this, if yes please comment.

People are friendly. It's typically very clean. Lots of machines. I wish there was a standalone bench press and squat rack. Dumbbells only go up to 75 but that's OK. Tanning is good. Hydro massage is amazing. Can't knock this place too hard as a gym...it's produced some monsters lol

The gym is fine if you enjoy weights or cardio. However, if you prefer exercising on a mat, you have to find a spot among the machines and hope not to get kicked by the glutes machine. It's hilarious that there's a zone named 'stretching' lacking mirrors but packed with machines.

Very bad experience. I’ve been with this location for a few yrs. I just recently had my account on freeze because of another financial obligation. The following month PF still removed payment out of my account sending it in the negative which caused interruption with underwriting process. So I contacted the bank A young man named Ashton was very rude and not helpful he wouldn’t direct me to who the next person in charge was. It’s going on another mother next week since this issue acquired. Nobody has responded to the emails I sent. Still haven’t been reimburse . I offered money to the staff members to help resolve this and he said come inperson so he knows it’s not a set up. This is just a joke

This is an average gym. It is clean, but moving to Delaware, I am disappointed in gyms in general. Living in Dover, there are no gyms with a good sauna, steam room , pool, and group classes all in one gym.

I like this planet fitness! It has great equipment for all of my workouts! The only thing I would say is, I wish the staff was more welcoming and friendly. It makes a difference when you come into a business where the employees greet you with a smile. Every Planet Fitness I went to went out of their way to speak to everyone who came in and went out. Maybe a training on how to be more personable to members? Other than that I like this gym.

Why is my daughter being turned away. They said it's not her home gym, so she can't go anymore? Normally, in the past, they just changed it to her home gym so she could continue. However, the new woman at the desk said no, and she should charge her to come in. She thought she was funny. So my daughter is paying for a gym she is not allowed to go to, and the woman won't help her. My daughter called for the manager but they told her there was none in. Now, she has to drive 40 minutes cause of this woman who thinks she is funny.

This is the 4th PF I have been a member of in 9 years from moving around, and this is the worst one by far when it comes to updating. The equipment is broken constantly, pieces missing, seats ripped, the floor is atrocious, the mirrors belong in a fun house, and don't get me started on the paper thin stretching mats. I wish a total overhaul on the lay out would be done and some replacement of old equipment would be done.

Best gym I’ve been a member of. Staff are friendly and helpful. They clean the gym regularly, and this is very important to me. They care about the safety and comfort of their members and go above and beyond to ensure it. I know there are multiple PF’s and I’ve been to several. Staff is always quick to help, and everything seems pretty clean! Lots of equipment and other extras such as the tanning and hydro massage and their is a full locker room. I haven't used their showers as of yet, but I noticed and appreciated they have shower caddies now to make keeping your shampoos and stuff off of the ground! That's something my last home gym did not have, which would have been nice.

Membership is definitely worth it, and the app makes things much easier!

I signed up for PF as a 24 hour fitness center. As they advertise. Then they changed their hours to close at 7 pm on the weekends and 10pm on week days. Around 30 minutes till close the staff will come around every 3 to 5 minutes to tell you they are closing soon and try to rush you out.

Individuals don't clean their equipment after use. Someone always takes one of two Disinfectant bottles, in the back of gym, and keeps it with them.
Staff is always polite. I wish they would, occasionally, walk around to see if so.eone has a question regarding the correct way is to use the equipment.
