Thanks to them randomly changing there hours of operation I can no longer go to gym in morning. Had an entire group of 6 guys meet every morning to work out. Now I will be switching gyms . Not to mention the shower is always so cold you might as well be doing ice plunge . Thanks planet fitness, you started great and horrible failed . Also there were at least 15 people pull up to workout just to find locked doors. Be ready there will be an open lease soon !!!

I been a member over 10 years in planet fitness and never experienced a rude and disrespectful experience if you going to close an area to do anything you don’t disturb your members, you wait until they finish or close the area the night before not when your members are in the middle of theirs workout, and got the nerve to get rude, when ask for the manager he is not there, ask for he his number give me the card which number don’t go direct to him cool. Ask for her name at the front and according to her she don’t have to give me her name when name tag was cover with her, and the story you need to remember that our membership pay for your jobs you have treat your member with respect period.

Needs another hamstring machine!!!
Dumbbells only go up to 75. But that's good for some things.
Also nothin for rear delts - the pec fly machine here doesn't have the range of motion.
Nothing for shrugs besides DBs and no Tbar. Could definitely us a Tbar row machine.

Clean and modern facility. I love the new Smyrna location. Pleasant and accommodating staff as well. I'd give it 5 stars but they desperately need another cable cross over machine. It's ALWAYS taken because there is only one. And people seem to use it for an inordinate amount of time. Only time I've ever been able to use it was late at night. It's an excellent machine for various chest, lats and trap excercises.

Update; there are two. A member showed me a yellow one in the left rear of the building. Sometimes both are taking though but still better than having one as I incorrectly stated. 6 stars

Have only been a member of this club for 2 days and got into verbal confrontation just for asking someone who was sitting on their phone at a machine for over an hour if they were done with the machine. There are so many people who sit at the machines on the phone and there is only one of that particular machine! The staff does not care, so much for a respectful peaceful enviroment!! Ready to leave this club already!! Some staff do not even acknowledge you.

This new location is kept "clean" but my god how hard is it to put your weights back and wipe off the equipment you used. Maybe an intercom announcement every 20min reminding people to clean up after themselves? I also don't like that the no gym bags on the workout floor rule is not enforced. Other than that the machines are kept up with well.

My experiences with Hailey have been overwhelmingly negative. She has repeatedly treated me with rudeness, acted with clear disrespect, and made me and my daughter feel unwelcome. Her tone and demeanor are consistently unfriendly, and she does not represent the “Judgment Free Zone” that Planet Fitness claims to offer.

Worse still, I have personally witnessed and experienced behavior from Hailey that borders on discriminatory. This is absolutely unacceptable and completely contrary to the values your company claims to uphold. Rather than creating a supportive and inclusive environment, her actions have made the gym a place of discomfort and stress.

After multiple incidents and no signs of improvement, I made the decision to cancel my membership today. I refuse to continue supporting a location where such behavior is tolerated. It is disheartening to know that your staff can drive away loyal, paying members due to a complete lack of professionalism and respect.

I hope this issue is taken seriously and addressed with urgency. No customer should have to give up their gym membership simply to avoid mistreatment by an employee.

I use treadmills probably 5 days per week. Each day I see multiple people drip their bodily fluids on the treadmills and leave without wiping. There is a sign reminding patrons to do so. But trash will be trash. No enforcement by staff either.
*Always wipe your machine down before using.

It's clean, it's affordable, and it's convenient. What's not to like? All of the equipment is new and works well. The treadmills are good quality. The only drawback for me is that the parking lot is much smaller than the Dover location I used to go to, so it can be a bit challenging during certain times to find a parking spot. Otherwise, no complaints.

My husband cancelled his membership after roughly two months. It had taken him three visits before he was able to join. Each time, the attendant was too busy or too indifferent to help him. And my husband was reluctant to download the Planet Fitness app. I knew something was up when he quit going to that facility around the Holidays, but blamed it on our busy social schedule.

A week ago, my husband and I went to Planet Fitness - to which he had not gone in at least three weeks. He wanted to resume his exercise regimen, and I was there to join. The attendant was dismissive of us when my husband told him that he was adverse to downloading the app, which the said attendant insisted my husband should do to "refer me" and get perks.

We left in disgust - my husband vouched never to return to this facility (he admitted having always felt very uncomfortable and borderline un-welcomed there) and I never joined. We rejoined the Dover YMCA (yes, way more expensive, but also much better - among other things, we don't have to face a ridiculously too small parking lot when we go there) on the following day.

BTW, when my husband tried to cancel his membership online, he found it impossible to do so. He resorted to call Navy Federal Credit Union to stop a $49 upcoming payment that he had been told he would never have to make, as well as any further payment to Planet Fitness. The Navy Federal clerk who helped him with this transaction told my husband that there had been a number of complaints from people about how difficult it was to cancel their Planet Fitness memberships.

Bottom line: Brand-spanking new, high tech facility, very poor customer service, and a tiny parking lot.

The small parking lot size is embarrassing . The peak hours ( weeknights after work or weekend morning times) is pathetic that we have to literally drive around in circles waiting for someone to pull out , so we can finally get a spot. The lot is too small for its occupants.

The black Card benefits all for the monthly price point is beyond ideal. The recovery experience alone is worth the membership. Once you include the ability to bring a friend at no cost, workout, it just makes sense. I went to a PF in Puerto Rico recently and one of the black card benefits are hair wash, cut and blow dry. Just amazing!

This gym is cheap and offers a lot for people wanting to work out in expensively. For the average person you can get a solid workout here but for people dedicated to working out and well seasoned to it planet fitness leaves a lot to be desired. This gym is for beginners and it does that part well of getting people acclimated to fitness but you feel left out if you’re past that stage. Free weights only go up to 75lbs and there are no Olympic bars in the gym anywhere at all. The gym really restricts your workouts. For example there’s a leg press machine here and it had short bars so max you can load is maybe 8 plates on each side.

Compared to 20 plates like other machines. You can get a workout at this gym but again it’s mostly going to be cardio or machines. The machine here are nice. Great variety and stuff you’d see at more expensive gyms. The machines have a code you can scan to watch videos of how to use them on your phone. Some machines also have rep counters and rest counters on them which is cool.

The gym is clean and the equipment is all Matrix which is a really good brand. The downside of this gym are the hours as on days when it’s not 24 it’s very crowded as you’ll be working out at peak times.

I can describe people’s attitudes at this gym as this. People who come in with an agenda to work out and workout only usually come in at less busier hours. Peak hours is when people who want to be seen, hangout with friends or treat the gym like a night club or a hobby workout. The personalities you run into at these different times of the gym day is an interesting contrast. So you have to plan accordingly to what your gym goals are. Working out or socializing.

In the retrospect of socializing it’s not that bad here but it’s a completely different gym experience that at a typical gym. People seem to like working out with their friends, family, spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends whatever etc. it’s a different experience because you don’t see that normally at the gym because memberships aren’t as cheap and people workout alone or with someone they might befriend at the gym. Here it’s cheap enough to bring your friends or loved one along to workout with you. So that’s a planet fitness experience but the group of people working out around the same machine or gym equipment can really ties things up. So this is a reason to avoid peak hours unless you don’t mind waiting.

Other than that the gym has a few other minor annoyances. The gym music is way too loud and I can hear it through my headphones. The cleaning stations have this cheap recycled paper towel stuff that falls apart as you’d expect. I wish they just used gym equipment wipes they’re simpler to get the job done.

I was bit concerned at what the quality of people would be like at a cheaper gym. Sometimes cheap prices bring people you’d rather not be working out around. So far most people I’ve seen have come in to workout or figure out how to workout but I haven’t come across any jerks or weirdos yet and that’s a good thing for the gym community here.

Overall I give the gym 3/5 based on how well it suits my fitness goals. The hours and restrictions on weights is a bummer and keeps it from being a great gym. I do recognize that it’s a great place to start for people who think the gym is a scary place.

Was not expecting much of this gym, because at the end of the day it’s Smyrna. It looks a lot bigger on the outside than what it rlly is on the inside. I wish the equipment was spread out a little bit more, because working out being clumped up together is not only unsanitary, but uncomfortable.

The air circulation in this place is horrible, so I can only imagine how it’s going to be in the summer if improvements are not made. Also, I wish the dressing rooms where you go to change had mirrors in them, similar to how the Dover location is. I don’t know if I will be back, but the distance from home is fairly reasonable, and that would be the only motive to continue to visit this location.

Since the Smyrna, DE location has opened, it has been a pleasure going to this location. For one it is literally 5 mins from my home and additionally the facilities are top notch. The personnel are extremely friendly and I can always find the equipment that I want to use available.

Saw that a new PF opened and wanted to give it a try. Loved the new equipment, and the black card area. There's something about having it with low lights to really relax after a workout. They have a nice 360 area that I've never seen before too.
Now the downside of this location is that the front is all windows and when that sun is out let me tell you it is H-O-T! They are going to either need to adjust the air way down or invest in some shades because that heat almost melted my face off.

Just got back from going to Planet Fitness in Smyrna, De. It is incredibly nice to have a closer location to me when I visit my relatives. The gym was laid out very nicely and the staff was great. I ran isn’t some issues getting signed in but they helped me out very quickly.

Grand opening, Disappointing! My insurance carrier listed this location, as a part of my amenities. I attempted to sign up, I was referred to Dover or Middletown. Computer systems inoperable. Responsible management, no where to be found!

Horrible experience as a new member. Sign up for the membership a month ago to get the deal. Never received a welcome email or confirmation email. Recieved an email the day of opening and even made a visit. No one mentioned an issue with trying to bill my account and Recieved an noticed a five days later to update info and they charged me a late fee. Not the member experience number could help nor the Smynra branch. In fact the manage would not even get on the call and told the staff they would not waive the fee due to my error. WOW...I requested a call back and the staff told me he probably won't call me back. I requested a corporate number and was told they don't have it.

Very disappointing... its not even about the late fee at this point. My first time with planet and I'm very disappointed.

Had issue signing up for promotional membership rate. System would not let me sign up stating my email was active membership but it was not. Then the promotion was discontinued and Smyrna Manager would not even get on phone with me. Anye tried but he I could hear him in the background telling her promotion is over and he did not want to talk to me. Glad they are starting out not caring about customers. Planet Fitness has never had good customer service. But the price makes us accept it.
