This month marks 2 years of being members. We have really enjoyed our experience at the gym and most importantly the Kids Edge because we do have children. We depended on the kids gym for every visit. It was extremely disappointing to receive a email yesturday that Kids Edge will be permanently closed due to a yoga studio replacing it.

This is very unfortunate for many families who are loyal to this company and are disappointed that corporate told not only the families, but the child care employees about this less than a month. My children love and adore their coaches. They really became like second family to us. Coaches Mitzi, Kara, Mr. Marvin, Daisy, Arelis and Ava. A very special thank you for those individuals who cared for our kids. It takes time for children to build trust to people who are taking care of them and now we will have to start over where we may not know if they could build that same relationship.

This makes us feel like we were not valued enough. It goes to show that corporate only values and cares about profit over their loyal members. First, they cut hours in the beginning of this year. Now, they are cutting one location. It may not be long before they close the Pike Creek location as well.

Their only solution for us was to transfer to the Pike Creek location. Many of us are not willing to drive the extra 20 minutes when we had Christiana 5 minutes away. It may not seem like a lot but if you have children it makes the most difference.

Lastly, the sudden closure has left so many families scrambling, stressed, and heartbroken. Parents are now struggling to find new care that meets even half the level of quality Kids Edge provided. Our kids are confused and upset, asking for their teachers and friends. This disruption has taken an emotional toll on all of us. What hurts most is knowing how avoidable this felt, and how the families and staff were the ones who paid the price.

Kids Edge Christiana made a difference — a real difference — in the lives of so many children. Losing it isn’t just inconvenient; it’s devastating. We deserved better communication, better planning, and better respect for the families and staff who poured their trust and time into this center.

To the teachers and staff who showed up every day with love and dedication: we appreciate you more than words can say. You were the heart of Kids Edge, and we will never forget the impact you had on our children.

This closure is more than a disappointment. It’s an irreplaceable loss for our community.

Edge kids is closing without any prior noticed, this is ridiculous bc I have been a member and know so many mom and dads that only come here bc of the program they offer. I'm not sure they actually thought through this, closing the kids sections is going to effect - personal training most of the clients are parents. No other gym In the area has a kids program. You have people that already drive 30 mins to come to this location. There's a movie room that doesn't get used I've never seen anybody go in there why not use that space for whatever pants you have. I sadden and feel like this is a discrimination on parents and children.

This is a phenomenal gym, the staff are pretty cool and I love the amenities like the movie theatre and sauna. However the main issue I have with Edge( or at least this location) is the hours the gym is open. As someone who works until late evening(anywhere from 8pm-10pm) the gym is always closed by the time I get there. My one and only complaint

I love my Trainer! I love the classes! The thing that bothers me is the fact that anytime I purchase the beverage or snacks my card gets charge twice. I told the cashier I did not want to use my card on file, she said ok. When i looked at my account she charged the card on file and she charge the card I want to use an additional 2 times. So now I was out $30, i asked for a refund. The girl looked bewildered, not knowing how to do it. Another employee had to come over to assist and she could not do it either. If this happen only once ok, it's annoying but I could put up with it. But no this has happened multiple times. Look at your account after you purchase something, to ensure your transaction was done properly!

Dear Edge Fitness Management,

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the unprofessional conduct I experienced at one of your facilities.

On [September 27, 2025 approximately 12pm], I entered the gym and politely asked to use the restroom. I identified myself as working in law enforcement and explained I only needed restroom access. The employee, identified as K, responded that she did not care who I was. Her tone and behavior were dismissive and unprofessional.

I explained that I wanted to file a complaint about the interaction. I then spoke with one of the managers on duty, who was respectful and professional. He required me to sign a waiver to use the restroom and informed me that his manager would be contacting me on Monday. While I appreciated his professionalism, I believe the initial treatment I received from K was unacceptable and inconsistent with the customer service standards a company like Edge Fitness should uphold.

To further test whether this was standard treatment across locations, I visited another Edge Fitness gym and asked to use the restroom. The young man at that location handled the situation properly—he took my credential and was preparing to walk me to the restroom. I stopped him and explained this was only a test to compare experiences. This confirmed for me that my first interaction with K was not reflective of Edge Fitness as a whole, but rather the unprofessional conduct of a single employee.

I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed. Employees who cannot treat people with basic professionalism and respect should not be representing your company.

Thank you for your time and prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from management regarding the steps taken to address this issue.

They don't have paper towels in their restrooms later in the day. I've noticed this many times. That's terrible.

I find that the business model that Edge Fitness Club operates is nefarious and insidious. You have methods of application for a membership online without showing your would-be clientele a breakdown of their receipt until they have already been charged and had the contract signed.

There is no mention of the "Processing Fee," which is an added cost of $19.50 to the already exorbitant $114.99 payment due to the $99 enrollment fee for the basic tier on top of the expected $15.99 monthly payment. Nor is there any mention of the "Enhancement Fee" that will charge your would-be clientele an additional $69.99 after 45 days of signing up, after which point it will then become an annual fee based on your sign up date.

This is highly unprofessional and deceptive, not to forget that there is a clause in your own agreement contract -that you do NOT emphasize nor make your clientele aware of prior to signing
-that "MEMBER AND THE CLUB ARE WAIVING THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL OR TRIAL BEFORE A JUDGE IN A PUBLIC COURT" fully knowing that you are absolving yourselves of any wrongdoing or manipulation. You provide yourselves the right to charge your clientele any additional fee you so choose, and cover yourself in a contract that is not provided to your clientele prior, by stating that you cannot be sued for these actions.

Furthermore, while I cannot speak for your other locations, your Christiana Delaware location provides no assistance in explaining the contract, explaining the hidden fees, nor informing your clientele that it is preferable to sign up in person because of a loophole that they provide to help get around the enrollment fee that your online would-be clientele would go through. You are lying by omission to your members upon signing them up without going over the hidden fees that will come for them 45 days in and then some.

I will never recommend this gym to anyone I meet and will actively dissuade them from looking into getting a membership so as to prevent them from being hit with crippling hidden fees. I am highly disappointed in your business model and the way you as a company seem to absolve yourselves of any wrongdoing and think you should be ashamed for not having your actual community in mind, entirely putting money and legality first.

Please be mindful before you sign the contract to this gym, and if you do, only do so in person, otherwise you’re likely to spend even more money than you need to and be stuck in a year long contract you cannot get out of until that time is up or the amount owed is due, including the asinine “enhancement fees.”

Great spot for a good workout. Clean enough to use before work and still feel like you just got showered and ready at home! Two thumbs up and five stars. The staff are nice as well, especially the gentleman who works at the desk most mornings, starting at 5am. I don't remember his name so I won't guess, but many kudos to this guy! ✨

My trainer Alyssa is incredible. She is a patient yet firm teacher and you can tell she is personally invested in each one of her clients. Shayla the rhythm ride instructor is incredible. She makes anyone feel welcomed and remembers your name. She is encouraging and meets people where they are. The staff is incredibly friendly and also remember you by name. You can tell they all love working together too. The gym is clean and looks brand new every time I enter. The friendliness and welcoming environment helps me stay consistent and not give up on my goals.

Becoming a member this past year has changed my life. With the help of my Edge trainer, Nick, I’ve lost 65 pounds and feel stronger that I ever have. The sense of community at The Edge from workers and fellow members is unmatched. I have moved and am still willing to commute to the Christiana location simply because it feels like home. Gym is OK it’s over all good, The competent need to workers required to enhance their performance? I should not be in a position where I have to repeatedly ask for attention when there are two employees engaged in an unrelated conversation, neglecting their responsibilities. I just wanted to grab a bottle of water and resume my workout, yet I found myself having to politely ask for assistance from employees who should have been ready to assist a customer. I comprehend that you may have been busy, but serving the customer should always be the primary focus.

I've been a member here for years, and I've really enjoyed it. Staff are helpful and friendly - in classes and training, they will motivate you to reach your goals. The gym has invested in new equipment several times since I became a member, like adding squat racks (there are now 7 of them), adding a new cable jungle system this month, adding new StairMasters, etc. The cardio cinema is really cool, there are several classrooms, and lots of space. Great members too - some people slam weights, but I've been in many other gyms that are far worse, including Planet Fitness. This is the best gym I'm aware of in Delaware maybe outside of Rise Fitness in Rehoboth.

Had such a great time at this gym! Very clean and kind employees. I felt welcomed for sure.
My only concern was after I witnessed a woman (her name is probably Karen or Sara) scorn one of the employees because she was a crybaby about wearing shoes like grown-ups do every single day of their lives. But other than witnessing the infantile customer, I love this place and think the employees deserve better customers that enjoy being there and not taking down other people with them 😌

I became a member a few months ago. I was just instructed to put my shoes on while stretching on a yoga mat in the corner no where near any other person or equipment. While I understand safety and keeping shoes on while working out, shoes aren’t supposed to be on yoga mats while stretching/doing yoga exercises. This is a concern to me as I have to stretch after I work out. This is the second concern since I joined. The staff seem to spend their time flirting unconcerned with helping find equipment (as I experienced a few weeks ago) and now policing non-dangerous matters regarding my shoes but not the lack of proper clothing. I paid a year in advance, but so far, I have no desire at this point to renew or recommend this establishment. I spoke to a sales manager who was the only manager available. I asked her why I was being discriminated against as under the “Attire” section, it also states that shirts are to be worn and goes on to say that absorbent shirts are to be worn. “Attire: Wear appropriate workout attire including shirts, and rubber soled shoes. You should wear an absorbent top to keep equipment free of perspiration and maintain sanitary conditions. There are no jeans, work-boots, or open-toed shoes allowed on workout floor. Shoes are required at all times. Club management has the right to refuse entry to the building for attire violations.” The manager then said “She’s not going to address that (shirts).” This is literally the legal definition of discrimination. I will add that one of your own staff (and also one that previously refused to help me find the TRX straps) was working out in nothing but two triangles sewn together this evening. Again, this is discrimination, and for a manager to say she’s not going to address why I was singled out and not the others, I have ZERO interest in promoting this establishment in any way. This doesn’t even include people filming in the locker rooms while others are changing and the lack of people wiping down equipment. TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

5 years ago when I joined this gym it was amazing! Still is in some way but I rejoined probably like November or December of 2023?! I was locked into a contract with them despite not feeling safe going there anymore because of a certain member which the cops were well informed 2 about. I was promised a 30-day free trial with no questions asked — just to try the gym before moving out of state. I submitted my cancellation request within that window (October 2024), along with valid proof of relocation (a New Jersey license). They ignored it, falsely claimed I lived within 6 miles (despite NJ being a different state), and kept charging me for months.

After delaying my cancellation until April 2025, they demanded $178.97 for Feb–April dues — all while refusing to accept their own mistake. I followed the rules, submitted all documentation on time, and was misled.

This isn’t just my experience. A quick search shows many others have had similar issues with their shady billing and cancellation practices — especially when ABC Fitness is involved.

I’ve filed an official CFPB complaint and escalated this legally. Be careful before signing anything here — promises made upfront were completely ignored.

I really wanted to like this gym because a lot of my friends go there but I just can’t say I can. The gym is beautiful inside the customer service sucks, the hours of the gym are horrible on the weekend and the plans/ contracts are horrible. I signed up for a three day pass and went to the gym on a Saturday, I admit I did not look at the weekend hours and showed up 15 minutes before closing but how the customer service was I’m glad I didn’t get a chance to workout. I hate to wait 7 minutes at the front desk for someone to come up, then I said to the employee hi how are you and her reply was “what’s up”. I told her about the day pass she said we close in 15 minutes, if you want to know the hours just look at the door. I said have a nice day her reply was “yup”. I came back the next day and service wasn’t any better and it was different employee. I can say Micah is very respectful and understanding when he makes the sales calls to me. I believe the hours at the gym should be longer on the weekends, and it shouldn’t be so hard to get out of a contract.

I started a trial in November, realized that it wasn’t working out for me and called to cancel before I’d be charged for membership fees. After going through the entire process over the phone, the representative tells me that my membership is cancelled.

Months later I notice that I have been charged the annual fee as well as the monthly fee for December and January. I call again saying that I cancelled and shouldn’t have been charged and I’m told that there’s no proof I called so I’m stuck with the membership.

I was directed to send an email with details for cancellation, in response I was told I would need a doctor’s note or proof of change of address to get out of this membership that never should have been started.

I informed them of my major reconstructive hip surgery scheduled for late January, and was again told I would need to provide a doctor’s note. At the same time, I moved back in with my parents in another state to support me through the multiple months I would not be able to walk. They charged me again for February and for March. In March I received what they deemed as “sufficient proof” that I was unable to go to the gym. I finally managed to get my membership cancelled, but only after they managed to steal $160 from me. They have refused to reimburse me at all stages.

Based on the reviews I’ve seen as I write this it seems this is not an abnormal occurrence. Go anywhere else!!!

This gym is a scam or the people who work there will scam you to get sales, I was happy with me general membership because I refused to sign up for their contract and decided to pay the full monthly price, am a busy working mother of 2 young kids was not sure if I was going to have the time to continue to go to the gym. I however got sold in to their personal training, I purchased 4 sessions I told the guy I just wanted to try them and wanted to cancel after the first 4 he assured me that I can cancel and will not be charged as long as I cancel before the next billing date and that it’s not a contract. He told me to cancel before March 16, and I will not be charged further, I called to cancel on March 12th they canceled it, however I saw still charged $229 on my checking account on March 16th when I called to inquire why I was charged that amount the girl at the front desk told me that oh yes I see that you canceled on time but we still have to charge you one more time, I told her the guy who signed me up did not tell me that and he even told me to set up a reminder on my phone in front of him so I can remember to cancel, so that I don’t get charged again, she said oh that’s our policy but I can have the manager call you back he couple of hours, I waited for over 5 hours and never got a call from a manager, I called again hours later and the manager told me the same thing I told him they are scamming people and I will cancel my regular membership he said ok you want me to cancel it now I can do it for you, am just so happy I did not take their 2 years contract, it’s like I knew this will happen. These people don’t care about loosing customers they have stolen $229 from me why would they care. The worst thing is I paid for the first sessions with my credit card which I have not even finished using all the sessions because I don’t have time to go to the gym like that, but they went in to my checking account which I never even authorized them to take such large amount from to take the payment second payment without me even authorizing them to do that.. The manager told me to send a message to corporate which I did over a week ago and no one has reached out to me. I did not think gyms still mislead customer, so be very carefully with signing anything with them, you will be given misleading information and they don’t care.

I have been going here for year! Very clean gym! Locker rooms and showers are cleaned every day! Staff is very nice and helpful. Always greet you with a smile. If equipment is out of order they make sure someone is there in no time fixing it! 10/10

I got sales pressured into this membership because apparently my first month was only going to be a $1.00. After the guy takes my bank acc , routing & card information, he tells me oh by the way well charge you $60 in 14 days. So technically your first month is not a dollar & he also mentioned I can cancel before they charge me the $60. Now when I tried to cancel they told me I had to email someone to cancel,,. I emailed to cancel my membership. & the response I received was that Im not allowed to cancel my membership unless I relocate or get a Drs Note stating I cant work out. Ive never in my life heard of something so stupid!!! & what even more messed up is that the punk who signed me up lied to me & misinformed me to get the sale.!!! Why should a consumer pay when they were mislead. When I called today to speak to a manager the female associate asked me for what, & when I stated about my membership she hung up in my face! This place has been nothing but nasty & disrespectful .

I have only been to the Edge for two weeks but everything is going down: weight, BMI, weight. Everyone is encouraging. I am going for balance, flexibility, stamina and strength being a byproduct of those.
So far so good. Quality of life is made by the Quality of choices you make. The Edge Fitness Club is a Quality choice. The rest is up to you.

Friendly staff, great supportive community. There's a positive atmosphere that you can feel when you walk in. Everyone there is there to support each other and it shows. The only feedback is that when equipment is damaged it usually takes a while for it to get repaired. It eventually happens, but sometimes a couple weeks after. Otherwise, it's somewhere people enjoy and thrive in.

My man was on the phone asking questions about cancelling because hes moving and the lady on the phone hung up on him. So he spoke with a manager and they are needing proof of change of address?!? It's none of your business why he or anyone else is cancelling. Especially if they have to move and YOU guys need proof??And than he's filling out to cancel and saying he has to pay 37 for cancel fee 57 maintenance fee and they want him to pay for another month?!? I would take your business elsewhere. I know plenty of people that go to planet fitness as do myself and I've never had any issues at all neither as my sister family members or any of my friends!!! I’ve only had my own membership for a few weeks as I’ve always been a guest on my coworkers at the edge in Media. I just recently found out that I can save $25 a month since ( being a first responder ) but the manager was very reluctant in helping me and said I would need to be a policeman, fireman or military. Very ignorant of him to not who is a public servant in his community. Nonetheless I spoke with the manager over ant edge in media and the manager was VERY helpful. The First Responders program are for the FIRST RESPONDERS of any and ALL emergencies! Aside from that minor inconvenience the gym is very nice.. it’s definitely clean. More than enough equipment and space. Too bad I won’t be returning due to biases:(

Beware of vague contract language. I decided to end my membership as I wasn’t coming to the gym often enough to justify the cost. I had already completed my original contract term and emailed a few days after my renewal date to cancel. I was able to cancel without issue, but I was told I would not be refunded any of the ANNUAL fee I was charged even thought I would not be a member 11 out of 12 of those months. When I asked customer service to show me where it said this fee was non refundable they were not able to. Beware, this place WILL steal your money.

Love this gym!! It offers alot from equipment, classes, supplements, gear, and trainers! You will quickly feel like this place is your second home no matter the ups and downs of your fitness journey! Also this gym is extremely clean!!! Shout out to my trainer Nick! He is super supportive and keeps it real!!! And shout out to Tyler who teaches my favorite workout classes. The edge fitness classes are made to challenge you but Tyler adds enthusiasm to his classes that make you want to come back! Overall I am so happy I made the switch to this gym from planet fitness!!! It's okay, cheaper than planet fitness with more options, including saunas. The staff basically ignore you unless you're one of their personal trainer clients and the facility is clean most of the time. The bathrooms are always a guessing game if they'll be clean, have soap or toilet paper supplied.

However, they normally fix broken equipment within a 2 week period which is better than a lot of gyms turnaround time for repairs.

Overall, it's a good in and out gym. Nothing special, but worth the price when comparing to other gyms locally.

The worst gym membership experience I’ve had! I have sent the proof of address change to cancel my membership as per their policy. The customer service NEVER reply me back. It's been passing seven business days and NO ONE REPLY. That's really annoying that I am still being charged the fee every month. I need to call again and again until someone replies my email, which is really time-consuming and annoying.

The membership cancellation is basically a scam.
I have not had such an experience with other gym memberships. It was not worth the time, money and energy to go through that cancellation process. I have never seen a customer service needing 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS to reply emails. THE WORST GYM I've subscribed in the US. YOU SHOULD NEVER BECOME THEIR MEMBERSHIP AND NEVER GO TO THIS GYM.

My 5 star review is for Matt and the experience I had with the personal training staff. The front desk girl (blonde with glasses) needs to be “checked”, she seems like she doesn’t like her job, maybe needs a vacation or find a different type of job.

Anyways, I've had the pleasure of working with Matt as my gym trainer while I lived in Delaware, and I can confidently say that he was instrumental in helping me achieve my fitness goals! Matt's expertise and guidance was invaluable, and his ability to hold me accountable for my results has been a game-changer.
What sets Matt apart is his attention to detail and commitment to proper form and technique. He takes the time to explain each exercise thoroughly, ensuring I understand not only how to perform them correctly but also why they're essential for maximum results. It is not always about how much weight you can lift/pull. “You got to make sure you keep the right form” he used to say. His passion for fitness is contagious. 5 stars for their PT team [especially Rohan]. I was at one point an athlete who went through shoulder reconstructive surgery and lost a lot of my swagger in workout routines. Rohan was beyond knowledgeable, fun to work with, thorough in his assessments of my form, and got me significantly closer to where I was years ago. We set about 10 goals at the start, and within 3 months cleared 9 of them. Dieting and macros are better, stability is better, weights are higher, and overall he is an easy recommendation.

If you're looking into PT service, go with Rohan. One of the greatest decisions I have made post surgery. He will get you results & ensure no stone is left unturned.

Seriously he will make sure you finish those sets. Props to my guy.

The worst gym membership experience I’ve had! I brought a written notice and proof of address change to cancel my membership as per their policy. I was told my membership was canceled. They however kept billing my account every month.
When I called back, they told me they had my written notice but had some issues uploading my documents. I was never notified about an issue with my membership cancellation. I was a member and tried to cancel because they raised my monthly price without telling me. When I tried to cancel at the location they said I needed to call a 866 number which I called and it kept telling me I couldn’t speak to a representative because it wouldn’t take my account number.
They make it hard to cancel so you just give up and let them keep charging your account. It’s theft especially when they raise your price without telling you. I will never use an edge fitness again and will not recommend it to any one.

I raised a request for cancellation due to relocated to new address with proof. Now the Customer care/Edge fitness is telling to join the nearby Edge fitness Club at my new address. It's means, customer doesn't have any choice of cancellation. I was told at the time of joining that if you move 15 miles from your current address, the proof is enough to cancel my account. If you are a parent looking for a workout facility, don't be fooled. I joined in December due to their child fitness program where they used to require 2 child safety trained workers at all times. My child could play and enjoy fitness while I got a good workout. Unfortunately, they changed their policy WITH NO NOTICE to parents. They now have certain hours (that are not shared with members) where there is only ONE worker present. The Edge does not provide the expected industry standard of two workers at all times. I was told that this is to save money. All of the fancy workout equipment and fun fitness classes in the world are not worth the safety of my child. The Edge should be absolutely ashamed that they have chosen to put their profits above the safety of children. On top of that, they have chosen to keep this very important change to themselves. A change that affects the safety of children should be declared via every method imaginable BEFORE the change is implemented. And in my opinion and the opinion of many child safety experts, a change like this one should never be made. With concerns about active shooters, abuse, and just general fire safety, we all must put child safety above all else. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Do not choose The Edge Fitness Clubs for you and your child.

Atmosphere: very bright and open, unless you find your way to the cinema.

Amenities: cinema with stationary bikes, sauna, massage chairs, women's training room, scheduled personalized/group training, smoothie bar, large turf space with tons of light weights/kettlebells/bars, water bottle filling station. All great to have at your disposal.

Employees: most of the staff are cool and helpful. The ones that ignore you are not worth talking to anyway.

Pros: amazing equipment, solid amenities and open 7 days a week with decent hours. Decent membership price for what you get

Cons: despite the staffs efforts, gym usually smells terrible. I mean absolutely foul at times. Theres no avoiding it. They need to disinfect the building professionally more than they do. Can be extremely crowded at any given time, so be prepared for that.

The Edge started off great but has gone down quickly. When offering Black Friday deals, expect that you’ll be treated just as a number and not a member. They won’t honor deals for existing members so when myself and three friends looked to take advantage of the two-year special, they would not allow us to extend our memberships.
The cinema is rarely playing the movie that it advertises and the staff seems it a real bother to have to switch the movie to the right film.
If you get injured and can’t make it to the gym, don’t expect them to help you in any way. I broke my right ankle and couldn’t drive for three months. They told me if I wanted to pause my membership, I had to deliver them a physical doctors note in person. They would not accept an email copy even though I could not drive
The facility is pretty nice, and they have a good variety of machines. With the second facility opened in the county, the crowds have reduced a bit making it a better experience

The place is great! Great service all around. There's tons of equipment and there's a lot of room to move around and do the things that you want to do while you're here! Everything's nice and clean and you will feel welcomed from the time you walk in to the time you leave. One thing I'd like to point out, however, is that they don't let you know when they're closing down the shake bar for the night. I tried to get a shake at the end of my workout 20 minutes before closing time, unaware of the fact that they had already closed everything down for the night. I've also been to the Plymouth Meeting location and they had theirs closed down one hour before closing. Apparently it's different from location to location. If that's their policy then that's their policy. No use arguing about it, but I wish they'd make people aware of when they'd be closing the shake bar down for the night. Maybe some signage or even an announcement or something. It's not so bad of an issue, but I still think I should put it out there so everyone is aware of this. Overall, I'd say I'm impressed with this place!

Currently, at Edge Fitness which closed at 7:00pm.. We pulled off leaving my daughter’s pocketbook and phone and the front desk reps are not allowing us to get her stuff!! We came right back by 7:07pm and they are refusing to let us get her personal belongings!! I ask for the number to corporate and they refused that as well. But Edge Fitness continues to be oblivious to respond or acknowledge any emails or phone calls. There is absolutely no initiative to look into the issue and resolve! They just want our money by hook or by crook! Bunch of crooks!

Update (Nov 3rd, '23): The modern day fraud! Edge team reached out and asked me to provide the details on an email. But as usual post that there is absolute silence. The same is the case when I try to contact the manager at Newark, DE.... Mr. Calvin James. He keeps dodging the calls and is always prompt to let me know that "he will call back", "busy right now will get back", "i will personally look into this matter"..... etc. However, neither the management or the customer care is looking at refunding the incorrect amount.....

Original: While the gym has great equipment and friendly staff, they have horrible billing system. They insist on having a card on file which they use to their own whims and fancies. The club takes zero responsibility for incorrect billing not resolves. I have been overcharged twice. They also lure you with schemes and do not honor them. I was told that first month for Edge Evolve challenge will be half off. But they did not honor it and fully charged. Your manager Tyler is very unprofessional a member earphones were found by an associate named Kyra and then your gym gave them away per manager Tyler. Tyler then became very irate and threatened the member and said come up here and make my day, as if he wanted to fight the member. What kind of staff work here? Apparently he is the general manager with zero professionalism or empathy, that clearly tolerates stealing items from members by his staff. The earphones weren’t even there 24 hours and were taken yet water bottles are piled up at the shake bar. Do not go to this gym. The facilities are pretty solid, but everything else falls flat. My second day at the gym one of the staff members were completely disrespectful to me and said I would not hit my goals if I did not subscribe to some personal training plan they had I simply could not afford (which I didn't want anyway). The staff member did not take no for an answer. I felt incredibly uncomfortable, disrespected, and unwelcomed. I tried to cancel my membership, and was told I couldn't break the contract, but was offered a reduced cost membership (switching to a cheaper plan), which I agreed to. I was still charged my original membership fee cost. I moved states to Florida with my parents because I worked in the area they lived. Asked to cancel my membership but could not provide any documents because I do not pay rent or own the property. I do not yet have a Florida license either. After I said this, support stopped even trying to help me and just said my membership had one month left and to just wait it out. They make you go through so many hoops and hurdles just to try and cancel your membership.

On top of this, I called to try and cancel before I knew about all these hoops and hurdles and was told my membership had expired, but yet I was charged. I call to try and amend this to get my money back, and was told I would have my info given to a manager to be called back. I was promptly ghosted. Worst waste of money in my life.

Unfriendly staff, terrible business practices, DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Edit: Don't give me your "oh we're sorry you had a bad experience" copy and paste BS. Give me my money back or don't contact me. Period.

After my membership terms I will not be renewing. I was greeted by a very rude associate who yelled at me and my guest to give information after I scanned my barcode. There has been the cut back in hours(still not back to 24 hours Mon. through Thurs), decline in cleanliness, sour smell throughout the facility, the constant crowds, excessive tripods and black sweat stained wood saunas… it’s too much I’ve had enough. $500 a year not worth it.

I live out of state, but my boyfriend, who lives in state, found this gym specifically for the cycle program since that's what I love. He was considering leaving LA FITTNESS for a membership here so that whenever I come in town we could workout togeher and I could cycle with Shayla. However the experience from the time we came in even to the recent follow up call made to me by a sales associate named Bobby/Bobbie was beyond unprofessional. Due to my out of state dl, although not advertised on the web when we signed up, seemed to be a problem at the gym. Customer service was for lack of a better term mediocre at best. Someone walked away after we stood at the counter with no comment or acknowledgment to us. When the customer sales rep called and I explained my frustration and that the goal was us changing memberships so that I can come anytime I'm in town, I was told verbatim "we're not just going to give you a free day pass to come in this gym when you clearly live out of state" which means he again disregarded my comments about my experience there. Rude, a tone of that seemed belittling, and being cut off and talked over were all unacceptable. The conversation ended with the sales rep stating my boyfriend and I could both just stay at LA Fitness. With customer service like that I can't imagine this company will experiemce longevity.

I had Levi and several others not sure their names assist me with a billing issue. They took immediate accountability and assured me it was solved. Love this gym.
