Biggest problem is the contracts. My rate went from $18 to $23/month after the first year and they bumped it from $23 to $36/month after the second, and that was the point I canceled and I’ll probably never go back. Because why is my rate increasing but my amenities aren’t? Oh and you need a 30 day notice to cancel so I’m paying through December even though I want to be done with the gym right now. Now I have to delay getting another membership because I’m paying this one. Why do I pay more for less access. The gym is “nice” but not worth the contracts. Machines are constantly broken and not fixed properly the first time so they continually break and are out for weeks. 90% of the benches are bolted in place which is just annoying. Most of the staff is gonna mean mug you during your workout while they teach their client incorrect form. Honestly the gym is a joke compared to others. If you’re gonna spend the money, find a gym that gives you proper amenities for it and doesn’t lock you into a 2 year contract that increases every year with no way out of it.

I workout 7 days a week at this gym and they have an excellent variety of machines to hit every muscle group. I Can do all the weight on most machines but its just right to stay healthy. I even do 450lbs for 70 reps in 1 set on the shoulder shrug machine every other day and I’m 61 !! Great and helpful staff too. It’s also a good mix of every age of men and women. I’ll see you there 😀

I have found the other gym members & staff to be friendly. If you aren’t interested in the spin classes I can recommend this gym. If you are someone who enjoys taking spin classes this is probably not the gym for you. The instructors are wonderful but sadly keeping up with the maintenance of the spin bikes does not appear to be a priority on management’s list. Membership dues & the annual maintenance fee went up this year but the bikes are still not being fixed. I know that other members have been voicing their concerns but they seem to be falling on deaf ears.

It's a nice gym with newer and varied equipment. However, it is almost always very busy. Even earlier in the day when I would go. Also (I am an older male), it has a lot of creepy dudes. People who don't know how to work out and follow around others to do their workout and for comparison on how they are doing. I quit awhile ago and happier for it. Too many weirdos. Cancelling your contract is unnecessarily difficult and unclear. You have to begin the process 60 days before you want to quit to be sure you won't get charged for additional months.

This is one of the worst experiences I have had when trying to cancel a gym membership. Unlike Planet Fitness, where you just tell them at the desk you want to cancel and you see no future charges, Edge is quite different. I was able to cancel my membership after the year commitment was over by email, but soon after I was charged $59.99 then another $29.99. They also charged me another $60 in late fees, however, these were removed. In my experience it was not free or easy to cancel my membership.

Good Evening Google Family. I have been waiting for eons to get here. They have been working on it for months. Finally the Grand Opening was Thursday, November 2nd. I had planned on attending, however I was too tired and exhausted to make the drive. I decided to come instead on Saturday, November the 4th. I enjoyed the drive down here. Most pleasant it was. I have to say when I arrived at the Edge Fitness Club in Wilmington, DE, they had balloons all over the front desk as a welcoming for any new folk. I arrived and proceeded to walk to the Women's locker room. Then I went to the Women's area to work out. The Women's Work out area is truly the best thing about the Edge. If females are subconscious about males, then they can work out in this area without any males around., They had the sauna, the Edge Cafe and the Garage, which houses power lifting equipment. I looked for the Edge Cinema and there was none. Angela, who works there, said there was no Cinema. I heard that if the Garage does well, then the Garage will replace the Edge Cinema. I was not at all thrilled about this breaking news!!! I enjoy watching the movies and seeing a different movie every day. The gym had that new odor smell, because the place is brand new. Also I loved that all of the equipment is spanking NEW!!! They do not have the pull down machine in the Women's only section, and I miss that. However, they have a rowing machine there. Also I liked that the changing rooms say vacant when no one is in there. I love that, because now you don't have to knock to see if someone is already in there. I loved the big showers. This Edge is not at all large like the other locations and that is because there is no Cinema. I will not be back because of that, plus no pull down machine in the Women's section. An update: I enjoyed my visit here today. I have not patronized this place in three years. They do have the pull down machine. I was so so happy and I did a cardio workout, on the treadmill, since I lifted weights yesterday. I had a great workout today. Be healthy, fit and Fabulous!!!!

By far the worst experience with any cancelation I've ever had to endure. They charge me an agreement fee along with a monthly payment fee after I canceled my membership & also were unable to waive the fee after I explained I didn't agree to re-new my membership. I had to cancel my debit card because now I can't them not to attempt to charge my card again. This is disgusting for those who have to manage bills & the customer service team at this particular location did not seem sympathetic given they were a friendly staff members when I first sign-up. I will not be recommending this gym to any peers due to this experience.

When requested for cancellation of membership, they show nightmares! Please be aware of this fitness center. I’ve been sending out numerous emails for cancellation but they take their sweet time and keep charging for membership and ask for reasons, why should one provide a reason to do so? I wanted to love this gym, but it is really just TOO crowded all the time. I did some personal training with Marco and he was absolutely amazing. The app they use for personal training is subpar. It wouldn't update training sessions regularly and I'd end up being notified a half hour before a session that I had a training session. I would even check on the day of the session to see if I had a session and it wouldnt show anything. This happened on multiple occasions. The biggest turn off for me is that it doesn't matter what time of day, 5am, 2pm, 5pm or 10pm, it is always very crowded. The women only gym is the only saving grace of this place. If you aren't a gym rat- I wouldn't recommend this place to the average gym person.

Was charged a $30 late fee for no reason and couldn't dispute because it was past 10 days yet wasnt charged until 10 days after the apparent lateness.

Overpriced. Advertise a child’s gym for parents who wish to work out but their “childcare” hours are terrible. Working parents hours do not match up at all and therefore, is not conducive for working parents. I consider that false advertisement. Trust me go to planet fitness. Despite canceling my membership in December, I have been charged three times, including an annual fee(that they recently increased). Reviews of issues with their billing system are accurate. When I addressed this concern with a staff member, I was advised to block the charges through my bank. If you are considering canceling your membership, be aware that you WILL continue to be billed and they will blame the system. They know exactly what they’re doing. It’s a great gym with excellent staff. The manager is always around and clearly working hard to make the gym the best place possible. From the trainers to the clean up crew, the gym is a good environment and nice place to work out. I’d like to see gym etiquette be followed (don’t take up a machine for long periods of time; avoid excessive phone use; allow someone to work in, etc) but that’s needed among members and not something staff can control.

Just wants to take your money!!! Contract is a gimmick, DO NOT SIGN, will be a process to cancel if they even let you. Make sure to check your charges from the Edge every month, they seem to add charges whenever they want and blame it on ABC Fitness. I had insufficient funds in my account in November so I called to pay by a debit card over the phone, since then they have continually charged that same card when I gave no permission to have that card on file or to continue reoccurring charges on it. Since I have joined the gym, my reoccurring monthly charge is always on the 8th of every month. I ended up emailing and canceling my membership on December 9th after I talked to the general manager, Brad, in which I received the worst customer service I have ever experienced. He didn’t have a care in the world to take the time to explain unknown charges on my DEBIT CARD (which they did not have permission to charge again) and had a very sarcastic attitude with me - the best part is he offered me a free protein shake to make everything right LOL.
It specifically states in my contract that “My membership will continue until written notice of termination of said agreement is received by ABC Fitness Solutions LLC. I understand that I must give 30 days written notice prior to the charge date of the month I wish to discontinue.”

So 30 days from December 9th would’ve been January 7th, 2 days before my reoccurring charge but they decided to CHARGE MY DEBIT CARD EARLY on January 6th this month so they could get another monthly payment out of me.

After reading some of the other lower reviews, it seems that a lot of people have this same issue with the Edge which doesn’t make me feel any better. No wonder they are so rich.

Stop lying to your members. The "annual fee of 40$ is the enrollment fee you try and hide. Why am I paying a 40$ "annual" fee only 30 days into my membership. Because you want to draw members in with a *zero* enrollment fee only to label it as an *annual fee* that you charge your members within 30 days. I am not one for leaving bad review (or even any review), but Edge really has left me no choice. I signed up for Edge in November 2023 in Delaware. Upon starting, I let them know that I will be moving to Connecticut in July 2024 (currently residing), and they stated that I would be able to cancel my membership at that time. With this promise, I signed the 2 year contract that was recommended to me, but this was false advertising as they will not allow me to cancel my membership now. Even with proof of moving, all they have stated is that there is an Edge near me and that I should just move my membership. I now have an apartment gym that fulfills my exercise needs, which was also made known to Edge during the initial signing. During this time, they again reassured me that I will be able to cancel my membership upon moving. This was NOT what I was promised when my membership was advertised to me and they continue to break their verbal agreements even though I cannot afford the membership anymore! I am now essentially sacrificing meals to pay for the monthly members because they have threatened to report me to collections and negatively impact my credit score. Customer service has not been helpful at all as they don't provide any assistance. DO NOT JOIN!!!

Never thought I’d ever say it, but I’m a Spin Girl through and through. I started going to the spin classes two months ago and have loved it. I used to be so inconsistent going to the gym, but I’ve gotta give credit to Erica - she’s a fabulous instructor and makes working out so much fun, you WANT to come back and do it all over again. They removed one of their tanning beds for red light therapy. Now they only have one tanning bed. It's completely booked for 2 hours at a time all the time. I pay extra to tan, and now it's not even possible. Waste of money.

Great addition to the area. Great gym with an outstanding facility. They provide you with an extensive set of equipment to workout. The gym has a lot of amenities shake bar, lockers, saunas.
You can also sign up to train with a personal trainer. I personally opted for the personal trainer. Jackson is great. We talk about my workouts, He helps me focus on key areas, makes sure I keep my form and don’t injure myself. I’ve seen some great results from my workouts with Jackson. I highly recommend him as a trainer. He also does some classes ES Forge and more and really get the blood pumping.
At times, I wish the place was a bit bigger because it gets busy and sometimes you can’t get access to all the equipment easily, you just have to be patient. Management can be super busy so if you need something it can be difficult to get that done.
I recommend this gym.

This facility is outstanding. I have over the past 24 plus years lifted at many facilities. Edge Pike Creek Delaware ranks far above all of them.
The facility is always clean and neat. Staff is very personable and eager to help and answer questions. The equipment is also in good condition and the facility offers a wide variety of machines to enhance the experience and minimize wait time.
The manager "Mike" is approachable and listens well to suggestions to enhance the Customer experience.
Edge executive management should visit the facility and mirror the positive experience Pike Creek offer to its Customers to witness the Customer first experience.

Would honestly give 0 stars if I could. While facilities are nice, and we went often when we first signed up- we need to cancel our membership but they won’t let us!!! When you first sign up they tell you that you can cancel at any time hassle free. But this is absolutely NOT TRUE. They lied to get us to sign up. We were told multiple times that we aren’t able to cancel because when we signed up we’re locked in for 2 YEARS despite the fact that we are trying to cancel the membership because we’re moving away AND they said it was easy to cancel. The gym told us to provide PROOF OF ADDRESS CHANGE in order to be let out of our membership which is absolutely RIDICULOUS and extremely inconvenient. We are trying to move within the next couple months and are house hunting now and I don’t need this monthly charge yet they continue to fight me. It’s absolutely not worth signing up for a membership at this gym. They’ve been robbing me for months at over $30 a month- DONT DO IT

My husband and I just signed up this week - our first ever gym membership! Shout out to Dominic V., our sales rep - no high pressure sales - just thorough information, polite, respectful, patient, took us on tour as a walk in! They are lucky to have him!! Facility is bright, clean, and spacious. Love that they have a women’s only section (for the higher fee membership), yet basic membership worked fine for my husband. Overall still a Great Value, despite some yearly “hidden fees” for “maintenance and upkeep” of the facility. Danielle the Sales manager worked with us on a discount for paying year in full! Fortunately we have flexibility to avoid the crowded periods before and after work. Looking forward to getting into shape!!

I was going to switch to this gym with the new location being built nearby. I went to take them up on the free day-pass advertised to check it out & then certainly sign up & switch from Planet.

I told the girl I was going to switch gyms but wanted to do the day-pass to check it out. She looked me up & apparently I was a member 6 years ago in another state for a few months so she refused to give me a day pass.

I mean, really?? I just wanted to check it out then sign up… Guess I’ll stick with Planet, sheesh!

The gym is nice aesthetically, lovely even.
THE STAFF IS ALWAYS RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL. Half of the front desk staff always has an attitude, when full paying members are asking simple questions and for simple favors. (I've seen this among multiple members) The staff eats lunch all over the gym, and in the extra rooms - which I thought supposed to be for very FOCUSED lifts. BUT IT'S THEIR LUNCHROOM, who knew? It just seems and looks pretty lazy from someone who's worked at a gym before. But the issue is the staff. Everyone acts like a college student in their own world .Half of the trainers seem like they've never done or studied exercise in their life. So, if you're looking for progress - go to a Lifetime, or Equinox, or HAC. It's worth the money.

Can be crowded, which is a good thing bc it means the gym is desirable. Accommodates all types of lifters. People are generally not annoying and the weights are where they are supposed to be AND the cleaning staff is top tier.

incredible staff, equipment, service, etc. the ONLY thing is i wish there was a “quiet zone” sign on the women's sauna door. people will come in with no headphones and their phone blaring, or come
in having loud convos with friends while people are trying to meditate. would just make for a much more comfortable sauna experience

Great gym. Can't beat the price. I'm LOLing at some of the negative comments. Yes, it gets crowded after work like every other gym in the area. You can still get on equipment without waiting. In my opinion, the music is not too loud (I'm old and it doesn't bother me). The staff is very friendly. They do have a vast selection of machines and free weights. The place is huge with plenty of parking. It's in a super convenient location. I often work out and afterwords head right to the grocery store in the same parking lot. Again, you can't beat the price! Other similarly priced gyms in the area don't offer the same variety of equipment and amenities. There's 3 membership levels and all are reasonable. The photo I uploaded was a random weekend night an hour before closing.

Front desk staff are nice, but they are learning and it's not uncommon to be ignored at the smoothie counter because staff is chit chatting. But, no big deal. I really love this gym, always clean

You can’t beat the Edge offerings and equipment availability for the price. Music is a little loud for my taste , but I’m 75, and Edge is really set up for a younger crowd. (Understandable). Men’s locker room needs more frequent cleanings, including scrubbing down the showers, not just cleaning the mirrors.

Facilities and equipment are great. Sauna is awesome too. My one complaint is that the music is TOO LOUD!!! Almost everyone these days wears headphones to the gym, and we don't want to hear top40 blaring THROUGH our headphones. Turn the music way down and I'd give it 5 stars.

I recently signed up for their 3-day trial as I am moving back to PA. I walked in with my sister (who lives in PA) and was told I was not able to use facility because I did not have a Delaware ID (which to them I responded I don’t have one because I recently moved back). Front desk attendant was very short and rude about the situation (when when we were very polite about the situation) I even went ahead and asked if we could even do a tour, but was told it was a liability. I got a call from a supervisor not too long ago and he apologized for the confusion, as he claimed that she was not to ask about ID. I was very disappointed and would not return due to front employee.
